APARTMENT

A young blonde woman, Katie Burns, is talking on the phone while pacing under the flickering lights. She is annoyed.

"I checked the fuses. They're fine. It's the wiring. Look, you promised the place would be ready when I moved in. No. You come up now! Please. Thank you." Katie Says as she hangs up. she grimaces at something on the table, reaches out a finger and dabs it. It's a thick black goo.

"Gross." Katie says

More goo drips on her shoulder. She looks up, getting scared. She goes over to the light switch by the wall, out of which the goo is oozing thickly.

"What the hell?" Katie Says As She looks deeper into the light switch; a creepy, bloodshot eyes appears. She screams.

BOBBY'S HOUSE

Elena's Phone is ringing on the end table, she's still asleep but she finally moves over to answer her phone

"Hello?" Elena Says

"Hey There Beautiful" Nathan Says

"Nathan Hey, How's it going over there in Boston" Elena Asks

"It's Uh It's going pretty well we're still coming up with some ideas but you know boring science stuff" Nathan Says

"Mmm I see that" Elena Says

"It sound like your were asleep, what time did you get in last night" Nathan Asks

"Um I didn't go anywhere actually I was spending time with my dad last night and we were up having a drink so I called it a night at 2 am" Elena Says

"Oh looks like your having a blast huh, so what are your plans today" Nathan Asks

"Umm not sure but I'll figure out something" Elena Says

"You know I was thinking how about When I come back I spend a weekend over at your dads house huh you know get to know him more better heck I'll probably even meet those guys Sam and Dean" Nathan Says

"Uhh Babe I don't know are you sure I mean my Dad Sam and Dean are kind of busy Men" Elena Says

"Oh please it won't be long Elena these are the people who are considered family I wanna get to know them more better please" Nathan Asks

"We'll Talk about it when you get back okay" Elena Says

"Okay That's my cue I gotta go, but I love you so much I'll see you in a couple weeks okay bye" Nathan says as she hangs up

"I love you to" Elena Says as she close her phone and lays back down in bed, then there's a knock on her door it's Sam and Dean

"Good Morning Princess" Dean Says

"Same to you" Elena Says

"Get up were about to head over to the roadhouse" Dean Says

"Fine Give me a couple minutes" Elena Says as she gets out of Bed

"We'll Be down stairs" Sam Says as the leave her room

ROADHOUSE

Sam and Dean and Elena are getting out of the Impala, parked in front of the Roadhouse.

"Los Angeles, California" Dean Says

"What's In L.A" Sam Asks

"Young girl's been kidnapped by an evil cult." Dean Says

"Yeah? Girl got a name?" Sam Asks

"Katie Holmes." Dean Says

She Laughs, "That's funny, And for you so bitchy." Elena Says as From inside the roadhouse comes the sound of breaking glass and shouting voices. Dean turns.

"Of course, on the other hand — catfight." Dean Says
As they walk inside as Ellen and Jo are shouting. Sam, Dean and Elena enter cautiously.

"I am your mother, I don't have to be reasonable!" Ellen Says

"You can't keep me here!" Jo Says

"Oh, don't you bet on that, sweetie." Ellen Says

"What are you going to do, are you going to chain me up in the basement?" Jo says

"You know what, you've had worse ideas than that recently. Hey, you don't wanna stay, don't stay. Go back to school." Ellen Says

"I didn't belong there! I was a freak with a knife collection." Jo Says

"Yeah, and getting yourself killed on some dusty back road, that's where you belong?!,she turns and sees Elena and the boys,Guys, bad time." Ellen Says

"Yes, ma'am."Sam Says

"Yeah, we rarely drink before ten anyway." Dean Says

"Wait. I wanna know what they think about this." Jo Says as a mom, a dad, and two kids under three, all wearing bright yellow t-shirts that read "Nebraska is for Lovers" enter.

"I don't care what they think!" Ellen Says

"Are you guys open?" The Dad Asks

"No!" Jo says

"Yes!" Ellen Says

"We'll just... check out the Arby's down the road." The Dad Says as They leave. The phone rings. Jo glares at it, then at Ellen, who stalks over to answer it.

"Harvelle's. Yeah, Preacher." Ellen Says

"Three weeks ago a young girls disappears from a Philadelphia apartment. she shoves a file folder at Dean, Take it, it won't bite."Jo Says

"No, but your mom might." Jo says as she pinches her lips, still holding out the folder. He takes it reluctantly.

"And this girl wasn't the first. Over the past eighty years six women have vanished. All from the same building, all young blondes. Only happens every decade or two so cops never eyeball the pattern. So we're either dealing with one very old serial killer, or —" Jo Says

"Who put this together? Ash?" Dean Asks

"I did it myself." Jo Says

"Hmm" Dean says as he nods impressed

"I gotta admit. We hit the road for a lot less." Sam Says

"Good. You like the case so much, you take it." Ellen Says

"Mom!" Jo Says

"Joanna Beth, this family has lost enough. And I won't lose you too. I just won't." Ellen Says

PHILADELPHIA

The Impala roars into town. They park in front of the apartment building from the beginning . Close shot of a doorknob; it opens to reveal Elena , followed by Sam and Dean as They enter the apartment building

"I feel kind of bad, snaking Jo's case." Sam Says

"Ehh Maybe A little" Elena Says

"Yeah, maybe she put together a good file. But could you see her out here working one of these things? I don't think so. Sam and Dean Both pull out EMF readers,You getting anything?" Dean Says

"No, not yet." Sam Says As he runs his reader over the light switch, it purrs. He leans over, What's that?"

"What?" Elena Asks As Sam touches the goo,

"Holy crap." Sam Says

"That's ectoplasm. Well, Sam, I think I know what we're dealing with here. It's the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man." Dean Says as he touches the goo

"Dean, I've only seen this stuff, like, twice. I mean, to make this stuff you have to be one majorly pissed off spirit." Sam Says

"All right, let's find this badass before he snags any more girls." Dean Says They exit the apartment and walk down the hallway; hearing voices, they hide around a corner. Dean frowns as he realizes the woman's voice belongs to Jo.

"It's so convenient." Jo Says

"Yeah, it's a great building, fixed it up real nice. All the apartments come furnished, too." The Landlord Says

"It is so spacious. You know, my friend told me I absolutely have to come check it out, and I have to admit, she was right. You did a really good job with this place." Jo Says as they step our from hiding

"What the hell are you doing here?" Dean Asks

"There you are, honey.  She grabs Dean around the waist, This is my boyfriend Dean and his buddy Sam and Sam's Girlfriend Elena.

"Good to meetcha. Quite a gal you've got here." The Landlord

He smacks her ass, "Oh yeah, she's a pistol." Dean Says

"So, did you already check out that apartment? The one for rent." Jo Says

"Yeah. Yes. Loved it. Heh. Great flow." Dean Says

"How'd you get in?" The Landlord Asks

"It was open." Dean Says

"Now, Ed, um, when did the last tenant move out?" Jo Asks

"Oh, about a month ago. Cut and run, too. Stick me for the rent." Ed says

"Well. Her loss, our gain! 'Cause if Dean-o loves it, it's good enough for me." Jo Says

"Oh, sweetie" Dean Says as he smacks her ass again
while Sam and Elena Looks at each other laughing

"We'll take it." Jo Says While she pulls out a wad of cash

APARTMENT

"I'll flip you for the sofa." Jo Says

"Does your mother even know you're here?" Elena Says

"Told her I was going to Vegas." Jo Says

"You think she's gonna buy that?" Dean Asks

"I'm not an idiot. I got Ash to lay a credit card trail all the way to the casinos." Jo Says

"You know, you shouldn't lie to your mom. Shouldn't be here either." Dean Says

"Well, I am. So untwist your boxers and deal with it." Jo Says

"Where'd you get all that money from, anyways?" Sam Asks

"Working, at the Roadhouse." Jo Says

"Hunters don't tip that well." Dean Says

"Well, they aren't that good at poker, either." Jo Says as Dean's cell phone rings. He answers it.

"Yeah." Dean Says

"Is she with you?" Ellen Asks

"Oh, hi Ellen." Dean Says

"She left a note she's in Vegas. I don't believe it for a second." Ellen Says As He holds the phone back, to Jo, I'm telling her. they have a furious, muttered argument

"Dean?" Ellen Says

"I haven't seen her." Dean Says

"You sure about that?" Ellen Says

"Yeah, I'm sure." Dean Says

"Well, please. If she shows up, you'll drag her butt right back here, won't you?" Ellen Says

"Absolutely." Dean Says

"Okay. Thanks, honey."Ellen Says As Dean hangs up the phone and Jo grins cheerfully.

Later On

Dean is pacing, Jo is sitting at the table with blueprints spread out. She's flipping a small knife around.

"This place was built in 1924. It was originally a warehouse, converted into apartments a few months ago." Jo Says

"Yeah?, What Was here before 1924?" Dean Asks

"Nothing. Empty Field" Jo Says

"So, most likely scenario, someone died bloody in the building, and now he's back and raising hell." Sam Says

"I already checked. In the past eighty two years, zero violent deaths. Unless you count a janitor who slipped on a wet floor. And Would you sit down" Jo Says

"So, have you checked police reports, county death records" Dean Asks

"Obituaries, mortuary reports and seven other sources. I know what I'm doing." Jo Says

"I think the jury's still out on that one. Could you put the knife down?" Dean Asks and She does

"Okay! So, uh, it's something else, then. Maybe some kind of cursed object that brought a spirit with it." Elena Says

"Well, we've got to scan the whole building. Everywhere we can get to, right?" Jo Says

"Right. So. You and me, we'll take the top two floors." Dean Says

"We'd move faster if we split up." Jo Says

"Oh, this isn't negotiable." Dean Says

"Come On" Jo Says

"Look I have to agree with her Dean" Elena Says

"Huh?" Dean Says

"Look How about you and Jo take up stairs while me and Sam stay check down here" Elena Says

"Thanks Elena" Jo Says

"Fine Let's Go" Dean Says as Jo Follows him

Jo and Dean are walking down a dim hallway with EMF readers.

"So. You gonna buy me dinner?" Jo Says

"What are you talking about?" Dean Asks

"It's just if you're gonna ride me this close it's only decent you buy me dinner." Jo Says

"Oh, that's hilarious. You know, it's bad enough I lied to your mom, but if you think I'm letting you out of my sight... I don't know if you've noticed, but you're kind of the spirit's type." Dean Says

"Exactly." Jo Says

"You wanna be bait?" Dean Asks

"Quickest way to draw it out and you know it. Plus Elena isn't a Blonde so who Else" Jo Says

"Oh" Dean Says

"What?" Jo Says

"I'm so regretting this." Dean Says

"You know, I've had it up to here with your crap." Jo Says

"Excuse me?" Dean Says

"Your chauvinist crap. You think women can't do the job." Jo Says

"Sweetheart, this ain't gender studies. Women can do the job fine. Amateurs can't. You have no experience. What you do have is a bunch of half-baked romantic notions that some barflies put in your head." Dean Says

"Now you sound like my mother." Jo Says

"Oh, and that's a bad thing? Because let me tell you...

"What?" Jo Asks

"Forget it." Dean Says

"No, you started this." Jo Says

"Jo, you've got options. No one in their right mind chooses this life. My dad started me in this when I was so young... I wish I could do something else." Dean Says

"You love the job." Jo Says

"Yeah, but I'm a little twisted." Dean Says

"You don't think I'm a little twisted too?" Jo Asks

"Jo, you've got a mother that worries about you. Who wants something more for you. Those are good things. You don't throw things like that away. Might be hard to find later." Dean Says as They approach a grating near the floor. As Jo stands in front of it, a dark hand slides through the holes towards her legs. She turns around, gasping.

"What?" Dean Asks

"I'm not sure." Jo Says

"You smell that?" Dean Asks

"What is that, a gas leak?" Jo Says as she sniffs

"No. Something else. I know it. I just can't put my finger on it." Dean Says as Jo crouches by the grating; her EMF reader purrs.

"Mazel Tov. You just found your first spirit." Dean Says

"It's inside the vent." Jo Says as Dean crouches beside her, shining his flashlight. He hands it to her.

"Here." Dean Says As He pulls out a screwdriver and unscrews the grating, pulling it off the wall. There's something in there. Here. He reaches his arm inside, feeling around. He pulls his hand out, holding a clump of blond hair. Somebody's keeping souvenirs."

In Another Apartment

Another young blonde woman, Teresa, enters her apartment, carrying mail. She drops her bag on the counter and starts opening a letter, muttering to herself. Goo drips from the ceiling onto the paper, which she tosses in the garbage. The lights flicker; looking up, she sees a large crack appear in the ceiling.

"This building, I swear to God..." Teresa Says as a loud scraping sound pulls her eyes back up; a long crack is moving across the ceiling. Panicked, she picks up the phone, but gets only static.

"Screw it, I'm out of here." Teresa Says, She goes to the door and tries to open it, but can't. She looks down by a grating near the floor; the creepy slimy hands from earlier reach out and grab her legs. She screams as they pull her to the floor.
