"this is so cute." abien gushed, looking around the beach. calum decided to have a small picnic on the beach as their first date.

"yeah? i thought it'd be good for our first date." calum smiled.

"i think it's great."

"good." he grinned, setting up their food.

"i hope the date wasn't bad." calum mumbled, coming into abien's room and wrapping his arms around her waist. he loved this girl and he couldn't help but think that she probably thought the date was terrible.

abien quickly shook her head and smiled at her boyfriend. "no, it was great."

"are you sure?"

"yes, you were sweet as always." she kissed his cheek before going into her closet to change into more comfortable clothes.

"okay," he said giving her a smile.

she came back and grabbed his hand. "i loved it. don't worry." abien said leading him to her bed. they both got under the covers and laid in each other's arms.

"i think we're going to this big cookout my family is having this weekend." abien spoke. "do you mind that we're going? i mean you can stay home if you want."

"abi, i'd love to meet your family." he grinned.

her eyes widen. "really? you'll come?" she gawked.

"of course." calum nodded, raising his eyebrow. "why do you think i won't come?"

"i don't know." she mumbled with a shrug.

"it has to be something." he said, convinced that something was wrong.

"well it's just that the guy i last dated like two years ago was pretty selfish. i'm just surprised that's all."

calum sighed and rolled his eyes. "that's fucking terrible. i mean it's your family, i'd never hold you back from them. alright?"

"alrighty." abien nodded, smiling at the boy next to her.

calum held her closer and kissed her head. "i can tell he was a douche. don't worry, i can treat you way better."

i'm alive ok, my great grandparents on both sides of my mom (not her parents) have been sick and in and out of the hospital so i've been traveling a lot and pretty stressed out
