Chioma's POV.

"

Agozie? Like, my cousin?" Amanda asked, disbelief clearly etched in every word.

"You heard me, didn't you?" I replied, suddenly avoiding her questioning gaze.

"But why Agozie? He just waltz into the perfect picture and now you're going for him? Look, girl, he might be my cousin but you're also my best friend. And that's why I'd advice you to quit the feelings for Agozie" she replied, a very serious look on her face.

"Why?" I asked, knitting my brows in confusion and annoyed that she didn't like the idea of me liking her cousin.

"Cause," she turned me around to look at them once more. Agozie was also laughing now and he looked extra handsome, his loud baritone filled the air and resounded in my ears in a very firm and deep melodious kind of way. "Agozie might not like you back. Plus, haven't you noticed the fact that he's a playboy? Isn't it obvious?" She asked, a look of concern glued to her face as her voice softened.

"Agozie is an idiot, and he's not the guy you're looking for. Forget his smile and his playful aura, he's a moron hidden behind that handsome looks. He's actually nice and all but nope! I strongly don't think  that's the guy you'd be into, so avert your eyes and take 'em right...here" he said, turning me towards Femi's direction as he feasted on his ice cream, a bit of vanilla flavored ice cream smeared on his lower lip.

How can a grown man like him eat his food like that?

"No, stop trying to choose for me. I do not like Femi and that will never happen!" I strongly refused and Amanda folded her arms in front of her chests and smiled.

"Honey, when that finally happens, I promise that I'll kill you. I swear" she smiled and sashayed away, wiggling her unfortunate butt in front of me.

"Idiot" I muttered but she somehow heard me and smiled.

"Just like you!" She hollered while I followed behind her.

I don't care what she says, I'm never going for Femi. I know she's just saying that cause he's her boss and all but whatever. I really like Agozie, something that I thought wouldn't happen in a long time.

"You guys wasted a lot of time oh. What exactly were you guys doing in there?" Agozie asked as Amanda sat next to him and I unfortunately had to sit next to Femi. Still no sign of Kunmi but who cares? I know I don't.

"That reminds me, where the hell is Kunmi?" Femi asked Damola and he shrugged in response.

"She told me she was going to the restroom. I offered to escort her there, just to be sure she doesn't get lost or something..." He smirked and I cringed. "But then she rejected my thoughtful offer and went alone. I'll go look for her" he added as he got up to leave while dusting off the crumbs of his meat pie off his lips and shirt.

"Yeah, thanks bro" Femi said and put a spoonful of ice cream into his mouth while Damola left in search of Kunmi.

Femi still had his shirt open and his shirt was also untucked and he wasn't even wearing his shoes anymore but rather a black Versace Pam slippers. His perfume swept through the air and invaded my nostrils causing me to slightly gag. Although he had a nice scent, his perfume was also way too harsh for my liking.

"You okay?" He asked, looking down at me with his eyes holding up concern.

"Um, yeah. I'm fine" I replied.

"Okay, so what would you like to order?" He asked and I shrugged.

"I'll just have ice cream, strawberry flavored ice cream" I replied and he nodded and got up to go get it.

"Chioma, so gist me. How have you been? And how come you two are getting along so well?" Agozie asked when Femi was out of earshot, a very interested look on his face and a smirk appearing on his pink lips.

"I've been...good. And as for Femi and I, let's just say circumstances caused it" I replied and he lifted and inquisitive brow.

"How?" He asked and Amanda also seemed to have gotten her interest piqued.

"Well, we just happened to see each other and..." I sighed at this point. I can't lie to them, especially Amanda. She'll be mad at me if she finds out about what had happened from someone else. And so, I told them the full truth.

"You tried to commit suicide?!" Amanda shrieked, causing a few heads to turn towards our direction. Femi also happened to arrive, at that moment, with the ice cream in his hands and a cheery smile on his face.

"Don't screamed like that!" I warned in a slightly loud tone.

"But why would you even think of doing something like that? Had he not been there, you would have died. Don't you get the depth of what your actions would have resulted to? I would have lost my best friend today" she replied, sounding a bit sober and guilt suddenly slipped into my heart and stayed there.

"Amanda, I- I was confused, okay? I was hurt, confused, sad, angry, torn apart and lost in my own thoughts...in my own world. And drowning in self-pity and somewhat regret. The feelings and emotions were all so overwhelming. They were too much for me to handle and that was why I considered killing myself" I replied with a shaky voice, reaching the brink of tears. My emotions welling up within me and causing me to hurt once more. Femi was sitting right next to me now, all three pairs of eyes were staring at me and Agozie reached for my hand across the table and held on to it, giving me a reassuring smile.

"Calm down, okay? We're not here to judge you, rather we're here to support you". He said, looking back to Amanda for confirmation and she immediately nodded her head in confirmation and got up to hug me.

"Please, whenever you feel like killing yourself next time _ which I hope there wouldn't even be a next time but still _ whenever that ever mistakenly happens, then think about me, your family, Amara. What do you think that girl would've done if you died today? And your parents? Do you think that would have made them happy? The answer is no. What your dad did today, he did for you, okay? So please never think of killing yourself ever again. Delete that thought right now or you call me when you feel like you want to commit suicide; I promise, I'll leave whatever I'm doing and come over to give you a big slap and a punch, to bring you back to your senses. I promise" she said and I chuckled, wiping off the lone tear that betrayed me by rolling down my right cheek.

"Chioma, I'm here too. Just gimme a call and I'll be there, I won't slap you though but I'll cheer you up. Trust me nau" Agozie said with a wink and a goofy grin spreading through his face.

"Yeah, and even if you don't consider me a friend, I'll still be there for you too. One way or another, I'll help you. Maybe I'll annoy to the extent you just have to hit me instead, who knows?" He shrugged and Agozie laughed and gave him a high five.

"And where is Damola?" Amanda suddenly asked after returning to her seat.

"He said he was going to get Kunmi. He should be back by now" Femi replied and I rolled my eyes at the thought of seeing Kunmi here again. Ugh! She'll ruin my mood.

"I'll go look for him. I think he__"

"I couldn't find her!" Damola exclaimed as he got to the table, cutting Femi off in the process.

"What?! What do you mean 'you couldn't find her'?" Femi asked, worry glistening in his eyes.

"Exactly what I said is what I meant" Damola replied in an obvious manner, running a hand through his hair in worry.

"Have you tried calling her?" Femi asked.

"Yes I have, genius" Damola replied.

"We have to go look for her. God! Where on Earth would she have gone to with her crutches?!" Panic laced in Femi's words as he grabbed his phone and keys off the table. Quickly grabbing my hand and badding Amanda and Agozie goodbye, he led the way out of the mall.

"Where would she have gone now? That drama queen, she just had to create yet another drama. Haven't we seen enough?" I muttered as I followed behind Femi while he held on to my hand like it were his lifeline or something.
