Secret
Deckard's POV
I was worried about my wife. She walked in, came over to me, and placed a hand on my back while Little Nobody tapped away on the laptop.
"Damn it, she wiped everything," he muttered, frustration clear in his voice. "And she took God's Eye—the one thing we could use to find her. We lost everything."
I looked at Isa. She seemed off, distant. I leaned in, pressed a kiss to her forehead, and whispered, "We'll be fine. I promise you, we'll be home soon."
She gave me a soft smile. "I'd love that."
I turned back to the laptop, trying to salvage what I could. The sound of Hobbs' voice broke my focus.
"What do you have, princess?"
I looked up, irritated at the interruption. Finding Toretto. But I've got a couple of minutes to spare to send you back to the hospital if you're missing the place."
Hobbs smirked. I felt Isa's hand on my arm, grounding me, calming me. I took a breath and focused back on the laptop. Isa pointed out a few details I'd overlooked.
"Yo, rules," Hobbs said.
Little Nobody frowned. "First of all, that's not my name."
"Little Nobody," Roman suggested with a smirk.
"Don't call me that."
Tej chuckled. "That's definitely sticking."
Hobbs sighed. "Great. Do me a favor and tell whisker-biscuit over there and his wife that if we're going to find Toretto, we do it together. After that, I'm more than happy to slap that smirk right off his face."
Isa crossed her arms. "Well, Hobbs, since you're not exactly helping find my brother, we'll let you know when we have something. Now, let my husband do what he does best."
Ramsey's voice cut in. "Wait a second, guys. I think Deckard and Isabella are actually onto something."
Isa smirked. "Finally, someone who knows what they're talking about."
Ramsey continued, "How do you think Cipher got into the country without us noticing? Ghost flights."
Tej frowned. "I thought untraceable aircraft were just internet conspiracy stuff."
Mr. Nobody chimed in. "They're not. Satellites and radar grids across the globe shift like an ocean, opening and closing pathways. If you know the right people and the right patterns—just ask Isabella, she knows all about it."
Isa nodded. "How do you think Deckard and I kept in contact without you knowing? Ghost flights are real, and Cipher's using them."
Ramsey added, "You can fly straight through the blind spots, completely undetected."
Isa smirked. "And if you know someone who can mask your identity, you can use them for other matters too."
Letty's face fell. She looked lost, defeated. "So... you know where Dom is heading?"
The laptop beeped. I glanced at the screen and smirked. "Yeah. New York."
I wrapped an arm around Isabella, and Mr. Nobody chuckled as we walked out.
Once we were away from Dom's crew, I turned to my wife, brushing my fingers over her cheek, my voice laced with concern. "What did the doctor say?" A fresh bruise marred her skin.
She gave me a reassuring smile. "They said I'm fine—just the bruise."
I exhaled and pressed a kiss to her lips. "I missed you."
She leaned up and kissed me back. I wanted to believe her.
Isabella's POV
I hated lying to Deck. But I had to. Not because I didn't want to tell him about the baby—I did—but because he needed to focus on the mission first. Once this was over, then I'd tell him. The doctors had given me a bulletproof vest, one that had been tested plenty, so I wasn't worried.
I wandered over to where Deck was and laid my head on his lap. He smiled down at me, and I smirked. "I don't know about you, but I need a shower. Care to join me?"
His smirk deepened. "Hell yes."
The shower was... worth it. More than worth it. And, luckily, we had a room to ourselves while the others were busy getting ready.
Once dressed, we piled into a truck loaded with fish. I liked fish, but being trapped in there with the smell? Not ideal. Nausea hit me hard. I leaned into Deckard, trying to steady myself, but I felt awful. Under the weather didn't even begin to describe it.
I just had to hold it together. At least until the mission was over.
