Mia
Mia's POV
I didn't know how to process the news—my sister had been pregnant and given birth to twin boys. And I didn't even hear it from her.
Brian was the one who told me.
Dom had been in touch with Isa. But not me.
I was the one who helped her leave. I was there when she walked away from our old life. And now... I felt left behind.
Worse—I hated that she married Deckard Shaw. The man who had once tried to kill my family. For the longest time, I convinced myself he must've forced her into it. But now? I wasn't so sure.
The whole family was gathering. Dom and Letty were visiting with Little Brian, and even Jakob had been in touch, though he wasn't coming. I still spoke to Jakob. But Isa? She'd cut me off. Cold. And part of me understood why.
The other part? Just missed my big sister.
Just... not her husband.
Dom finally pulled me aside, his voice careful but firm.
"Mia, I talked to Isa. She invited us to visit. She wants us to meet the babies."
I blinked. "She was pregnant and didn't tell us? Why?"
Dom looked toward the kids playing outside with Letty. When he turned back, his voice had softened. "She was dealing with some things—with Deckard's family. But she was safe the whole time. And this is the first time she's reaching out."
I folded my arms. "What about my kids? You and Letty?"
"Letty and I are going. Little Brian's staying here. We're all going," Dom said simply. "I've made peace with Isabella and Deckard. You haven't even spoken to her. This is your chance."
I sighed. "I'll come. But I still don't like Shaw."
Dom nodded. "You don't have to like him. But you have to deal with it. You and Isa—you walked away too, Mia. Don't pretend you didn't. You ghosted her just like I did. I've owned that. Now it's your turn."
He looked me dead in the eye. "Either you come, or you'll never see those boys. We leave in the morning. Everything's booked."
With that, he walked out with Letty.
Brian came in after. "You should go," he said simply. "You need this, Mia. Jack and Olivia would want to meet their aunt. And whether you like it or not, you need to see her."
Then he walked out.
London – Isa and Deckard's Home
Next thing I knew, I was on a plane to London. Then in a car headed to my sister's house. Brian stayed behind with the kids—jet lag hit them hard.
When we pulled up, I saw two cars in the driveway. One empty space.
Dom knocked, and a blonde woman opened the door.
"Can I help you?" she asked.
"I'm Dom," he said. "Isabella's brother."
Her expression softened. "Come in. I'm Hattie—Deckard's sister. It's going to rain soon."
As we walked in, she added, "The babies are sleeping, Isa's resting, and Deckard's in the kitchen. Also, don't worry—Owen's not here."
The house was elegant but warm. Full of photos—of Isa, Deckard's family... and even us. One picture of Isa and me made my chest ache.
In the kitchen, Deckard Shaw was cooking. Beer in hand. Calm as ever.
Hattie grinned. "Bella's family's here."
Deckard turned, expression unreadable. "Dom. Letty. Mia."
Dom and Letty shook hands with him and smiled. Deckard turned to me.
He nodded once. "Nice to meet you."
I didn't speak. Couldn't. I stayed back, arms crossed.
Deckard looked me dead in the eye. "Must be hard for you to be here."
"You killed Han. You nearly got my son and me killed," I said. "How am I supposed to trust you?"
He didn't flinch. "You don't have to. I did those things. But I never meant to hurt your son. I was at war—not with you, but with the people who hurt my brother. Your brother and husband were on the other side. I love my family, just like you love yours. I can't undo what I've done... but I can stand here and tell you I'd never let anything happen to Isa or those boys."
Dom stepped in. "I trust him. And I trust Isa. That's enough for me."
Then I heard her voice.
"It better be enough for all of you."
We turned.
Isabella stood in the doorway, tired but strong. Letty and Dom hugged her and were being careful with her. When she came over to me... she stopped short. Deckard moved beside her, hand gently on her back.
"Mia," she said. "You don't have to trust Deckard. But he's my husband. The father of my children. If you want to see them, you need to accept that we're a team. You don't get to cherry-pick my life. Not now. Not ever. I won't rehash the past."
My heart pounded. "I dropped you off at the airport. I was the one who helped you vanish. And then you just disappeared from me. You married him. Started a whole new life. Didn't even tell us you were pregnant. Do you know how that feels?"
Isa didn't flinch. "Yeah. Actually, I do."
I blinked. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means I remember exactly what it felt like when the people I was supposed to trust wanted to ship me off to marry someone I didn't even know," she said tightly.
And she was right.
I remembered siding with Dom, sending her to Vince. I didn't say anything. Just mumbled, "You married the enemy."
"No, Mia. What's not fair is you walking into my home and disrespecting me—or my husband." Isa stepped closer. "You helped me disappear, yes. And I'll always be grateful. But you don't get to decide who I love. I'll always choose love over family with a second thought and so would all of you. Deal with that."
"And you think our family's innocent?" Isa snapped. "Owen hurt you. Not Deckard. Deckard went after Dom and Hobbs because your family put his brother in the hospital. What Owen did was wrong—I'm not defending that. But for the record? Owen made up for it by saving Little Brian. Funny how that part always gets left out."
I flinched. Because again... she wasn't wrong.
"I didn't tell you about the twins because I was dealing with something that had nothing to do with you or Dom," she said. Then Dom stepped in.
"Mia, I get it. I don't like it, but I understand her side. And if someone hurt my family? I'd burn the world down too. You're the only one still holding onto this grudge."
I stayed quiet. Then, finally, admitted, "I don't trust him."
"And you don't have to," Isa said. "But you do need to respect him. And Hattie. And even Owen. Like it or not, the Shaws are my family now. They show up. They stand by me. They carry me when I can't carry myself."
Her voice dropped—lower, sharper.
"So I'll make this simple: if you can't accept that—if you can't let go of your pride—then get the hell out. I will cut you off, Mia. Completely. I will not let my sons grow up around someone who disrespects their father... or me."
I opened my mouth... but nothing came out.
After a long silence, I took a breath. "Okay. I'll be civil with the Shaws."
Isa smiled—small, but real.
Deckard smirked from where he stood. "You can still hate Owen. That one's fair."
Despite everything, I let out a breath of laughter. Isa cracked a grin.
"I miss you," I said finally. "I was angry. But you're right."
Her voice wavered for the first time. "Then show me. Start over. You, Dom, and Letty are only here for half the week. Come meet the boys."
Later – The Nursery
We walked through the house. She showed me every room. Then we reached the nursery.
She picked up one baby with so much love. "This is Frederick. We call him Freddy."
Dom took him, grinning. Freddy smiled instantly.
Isa moved to the next crib. "And this is Harry." She handed him to me.
I smiled, heart melting. "What are their middle names?"
Isa grinned. "Freddy is Jakob. Harry is Owen."
Dom's eyebrows lifted. "Jakob?"
Isa and I exchanged a look. That story would come later.
The rest of the visit was easier. Softer. The cousins bonded. Dom and Letty laughed again. And something started healing between all of us.
But outside the house, someone watched. Hidden. Waiting.
Someone who still had a score to settle.
Someone who wanted Dom to pay.
And peace... never lasts for long.
