Dom meets Deckard and Isabella

Isabella's POV

Deckard and I had someone keeping an eye on the house. The feeling of taking revenge on my family felt oddly satisfying. After everything they'd done to me—wanting to marry me off, pressuring me to hurt my brother-in-law—it was about time I made them pay. I'd never forget how they treated me, and I wasn't about to let that slide anymore.

Deckard and I were waiting for the right moment, watching for Dom's arrival. "Is it wrong that I want to punch him?" I asked, staring out the window as I saw Dom's car pull up.

Deckard kissed my head, reassuring me. "I know you're going to get your chance. But remember, we're doing this for Owen and for you."

I turned to him, kissing him back. "All I need is you and your family. Trust me, I wish my family could get along, but we don't."

We watched Dom and his crew arrive. Deckard drove near enough so that Dom would see him—and sure enough, Dom noticed. He started walking toward us, his steps quick and purposeful. I turned to Deckard. "Well, here he comes."

Deckard smirked and revved the engine, speeding off as I knew Dom would follow. It didn't take long before Dom was right behind us. We waited for him to catch up, then the tension built as he and Deckard exchanged that silent challenge—like two lions circling each other, waiting to pounce. Honestly, I'd have been okay with a firefight right then and there. But, instead, both men launched their cars forward, crashing into each other in a way only they could.

Deckard stretched his neck, taking a deep breath, and got out of the car. Dom followed suit, stepping out holding a Hummer like he was ready for something big.

They locked eyes, sizing each other up.

Deckard spoke first, his voice cold but unwavering. "You never should've messed with a man's family."

My brother, Dom, fired back with, "I told your brother the same thing."

Dom eyed the reinforced chassis of Deckard's car. "Reinforced your chassis, huh? It's like going into a ring with weighted gloves."

Deckard smirked, unfazed. "Your mistake. We're not here to play games. You and me? We come from different worlds. Trust me, I've seen worse than the streets you're used to."

Dom readied himself, taking a defensive stance. "Stick around. It's gonna get a lot meaner."

Deckard pulled out his gun. "Thought this was gonna be a street fight?"

Dom hesitated for a moment, clearly thrown off. "We?"

Deckard's grin widened. "I believe you know my wife, Isabella Shaw."

I got out of the car then, my heels clicking against the pavement, walking toward my brother. "Hello, brother."

Dom's face twisted with frustration. "Hello, sister. Come home. You don't love him."

I rolled my eyes, my voice laced with venom. "You are unbelievable. You don't control me anymore, Dom. You ruined my life—let someone near me who harassed me, and you did nothing. The fact is, you're a horrible brother. No wonder Jakob and I hate you."

Dom's eyes flickered between Deckard and me. He turned to Deckard. "Give me back my sister. She belongs with her family."

I could barely hold back my fury anymore. "WE AREN'T FAMILY ANYMORE! I'M DONE WITH YOU AND YOUR BULLSHIT. YOU WENT AFTER OWEN—MY BROTHER-IN-LAW—NOW YOU GET US. AND YOU'LL GET WHAT'S COMING TO YOU."

Dom said nothing, his silence speaking volumes. He was finally quiet for once, and I was glad for it.

He tried again, his voice softer but no less commanding. "Isabella, please, leave Shaw."

I met his gaze head-on, my voice hard as steel. "I WILL NEVER LEAVE MY HUSBAND, WHO, BY THE WAY, HAS SAVED ME MORE TIMES THAN YOU OR MIA EVER DID."

Deckard stepped forward, his words sharp. "Listen to me, Toretto. You left her, and you never believed her about the harassment. She's a fully independent woman who can do whatever the hell she wants."

I smirked. "The old Isabella—the one who did everything her family wanted—is gone for good. I know what I want now, and I know who I've become. You hurt Owen, and now we're going to burn you. You started this war."

Dom turned to Deckard, irritation clear in his expression, but I was already done with him. I pulled out my gun, ready for the fight that was about to go down.

Before anyone could make another move, a shot rang out, striking Deckard's car. We returned fire, running for cover. I looked back once, watching as Dom stayed behind to deal with the mess. Good. Let him.

We ran to a safe place, panting from the adrenaline. I couldn't help but smile. "Well, that was fun."

Deckard pulled me close, his lips crashing onto mine in a fierce kiss. "I have a few things in mind. Right now, we're at war with your family."

I kissed him back, feeling the heat between us. "I'm glad we are. They need to learn that hurting someone close to you—and me—has consequences."

Deckard picked me up, carrying me to the car. "Well, now we've got a little while before our friend tells us where Dom's going. Right now, I want to have some fun with my wife."

I kissed him again, this time slow and deliberate. And we weren't in any rush.

Author's Note:

Well, I did it! Writer's block is (kind of) gone! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. A few thoughts on Dom's character: In the movies, Dom doesn't seem to care much about other people's lives or families. Take Owen Shaw—Dom went after him, but did he really need to? Sure, Letty was involved, but Owen was badly hurt, and Dom was willing to let that slide. Deckard went after Owen because Dom hurt his brother.

I think Deckard is in the right here. Sure, he shouldn't have killed Han (though, spoiler: Han is alive), but Dom and his gang are on such high horses, only caring about their own lives and families. They never seem to think about the consequences of their actions. Owen, Jakob, and Deckard all know they did wrong, but Dom doesn't seem to care. He kicked out his own brother for doing what their father wanted, and he showed no remorse when he did it. It's frustrating to me as a fan of the series. Dom and his family get a lot of praise, but they also caused a lot of harm to people like Owen and Deckard—people who, in my opinion, are just trying to protect their own.

Anyway, that's my rant. This is just my take on Dom's character, and I'd love to hear what you all think!
