Deckard vs Dom
Isabella's POV
Deckard was always the one who had the plans. He was going after Dom, and I was going to be in the car, driving around, making sure I could stop or slow them down if needed. I didn't want to be on the front lines—I wasn't a fighter, I was more of the brains.
I was looking over the plans, making little changes to both my car and Deckard's. He was getting himself ready for the mission, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of nervous excitement. I walked over to him, wrapping my arms around his waist, and said, "If things go south, just know I love you more than my family. I will always pick you."
Deckard smiled, pulling me closer. "Isa, if that happens, promise me that you'll take care of yourself. I'll always pick you over my family. I'll always stand by you, and I loved you from the very first moment I saw you."
I smirked, brushing my lips against his as I said, "Stop talking."
As our lips met, I felt free. In that moment, I told myself that no matter what happened, Deckard and I would move on from all of this. After it was over, maybe we'd leave, have kids, and live the rest of our lives without Dom and his gang. But deep down, I knew that wasn't entirely true—there would always be a problem with them. However, whatever happened, I knew we'd make it through.
We got in our cars, and I hacked into the comms system, listening to every conversation they had. I just drove around, trying to stick to the plan. The plan was simple: don't try to stop them, just slow them down. As I hacked into their systems, I came across a firewall. Damn it.
I heard that Deckard had the upper hand on Dom and his crew.
Ugh, Dom was always being Dom. I couldn't wait to see him or Mia again, but right now, all I wanted was my husband, Deckard, and a life free of all this chaos. I pulled out my phone, looking at the picture of me in my wedding dress and Deckard in his suit, smiling at me. I wanted things back to the way they were, back when we were just a couple, happy and free.
But that wasn't possible. I knew that. Things were never going to be normal—not for me, and especially not for them.
Suddenly, I heard a voice: "Jakande took fire at Dom and Shaw."
No. No. Not Deckard. I slammed my foot on the accelerator, driving as fast as I could to where the action was.
I heard that Dom made Deckard fall, but he was alive. I couldn't care less about Dom, but seeing what had happened to Deckard made me realize just how much I needed him.
I pulled up to the scene, and there was Dom with Brian and his gang.
I got out of my car and moved toward the buildings to find my husband.
Two people stepped into my path. It was Dom.
"Isa, please don't go in there," he said. "You're free of him. The marriage is fake. Please come back."
I turned to face my brother, my voice sharp. "Enough, Dom. If you hadn't gone after Owen—who, by the way, is in the hospital because of you—I'd still be in my life with my husband. I'm so fucking happy to be married to a man who loves me and who wants to start a family with me. The marriage is real, Dom. I would pick him over you any day. You ruin people's lives, Dom. No wonder I want to teach you a lesson!"
I stormed off to find Deckard. When I found him, I bent down to check if he was still alive. He opened his eyes and whispered, "Isa, I'm sorry."
I shook my head. "You don't need to apologize, Deck. Just hang in there."
I started moving the rocks and debris to help Deckard. I knew there was no running from this, but at that moment, all that mattered was getting him safe.
Suddenly, Brian appeared behind me. Without a word, he helped me move the debris off Deckard's body. He looked at me and said, "Isabella, you're right. We ruin people's lives. We just wanted Letty back. But I'm happy for you."
I nodded. "Thanks, Brian. Just hearing you say you're sorry isn't enough. Dom, Letty, and the whole gang need to apologize for throwing my brother out of a plane. But I do understand wanting to protect your family."
Brian and I worked together to clear the debris, finally getting Deckard to the ambulance. I helped them place my husband inside and made sure he was strapped in safely.
As I was about to turn away, I saw Dom watching me from a distance. I went to my car, grabbed what I needed, and returned. Letty and Brian stood in my way, blocking my path to my husband.
Letty spoke first. "I'm sorry, Isa. I really am. Owen mentioned you. He showed me a picture of your wedding, and I'm happy for you."
I smiled, my voice softer now. "Letty, you're one of the few people who were there for me after Vince. I never imagined us being enemies. I'm happy you're my sister-in-law. But I don't think I'll ever be okay with Dom or Mia. Brian, I liked you from the first moment I saw you. You helped me more than you'll ever know. Thanks. But now, I'm going to be with my husband."
Letty smiled, giving me a comforting nod. "Call me if you need anything."
Brian added, "Same here."
I smiled back at them both, walking away and taking my seat next to Deckard. We drove off, leaving the chaos behind us.
Author's Note:
Hey everyone! I'm back! Now that I'm done with school, I'm so happy to be posting new and updated stories.
I really enjoy writing Letty and Brian in this. I think Brian would genuinely help Isa out. Letty's always had her back, especially after Vince, and I can see her supporting Isa. Brian's been there for Isa, helping her find herself and leave her past behind.
I hope everyone is doing well! Please like, comment, and share—any feedback is always welcome!
The next chapter will be called Hard Truths—so stay tuned!
