For a second there I fool my own senses

My mouth starts going, the words start flowing, oh

"Oh god, Queenie! We've just seen all of the news! Who would say such nasty things about someone so lovely? Rosalia, Bill, Reggie and I are planning a press statement now. All we need is your approval on certain word choices and the date you're free for a conference... We've got your back, Bulsanya."

Jen's rambling begins as soon as Freya picks up the phone. 

"Thank you, Jennie. I was wondering if you could get Bill and Reg on the phone with you?" 

"Of course!"

There's yelling in the background. Jennifer can clearly be heard shouting something along the lines of 'Come up here, you lazy arses. You're sister's having a crisis and needs some support!'

Freya cracks a smile as she hears heavy footsteps racing up a staircase.

"Hiya Squirtle, what's poppin'?" Reggie yells through the phone, obviously nowhere near the device and painfully out of breath.

"Mornin', Frey. Sorry about the photograph." 

Bill grabs the phone from Jen, calmly placing the conversation on speakerphone.

"What is it you'd like to discuss, honey? We're right here when you're ready."

"Well,  I've written a song...but..." She breaks off her sentence, worries beginning to cloud her intentions.

I won't hide away forever

"You'd like to release it as your own?" Reggie guesses, smiling from his seat in the QUEEN household.

Briefly muting the mic, Bill speaks to Jen and Reg with obvious excitement.

 "I'm going to fangirl the hell out of this song...I hope we get an album-"

"Erm...Yeah," Freya admits. "Before I release it though, I want your permission."

Jen practically smashes the mute button back on in response.

"You don't need-"

"I know I don't need it, I simply value it. As a fellow band member and your sister in everything but blood, it's important that we're on the same page about this."

Her heart drops to her stomach as silence ensues.

Secrets hurt too much to hold

Society shapes too many moulds

"I-it's okay if-"

"Go for it!" her selected family screams, laughing in excitement at the prospect of an F. Mercury single.

This is why...I won't hide myself away forever.

"Oh, for the love of- AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! It's dinner time!" Peter yells, hoping his mates are somewhere nearby. 

"No need to yell, котенок, we're right here," Wanda purrs as she wraps her arms around Peter's waist.

"Alright then, I've made some salad, fries, roasted carrots-"

"FREYA MERCURY JUST CAME OUT WITH A NEW SONG!"Shuri screams as she whizzes past her two soulmates, running towards the TV so she can switch Spotify on.

As the rest of the team hurries in, Shuri reads off the title of the track.

"Why I won't hide forever, FreyZ Bulsanya."

"FreyZ Bulsanya?" Loki asks, confused at the foreign-sounding name.

 "Yeah, Freya's father's surname was Bulsanya, but he changed it when his family moved to America from Arcadia. Z is for her middle name, Zahid."

"She went back to her roots." T'Challa nods, his eyes beginning to sparkle at the singer's cultural pride.

"It seems like it. This is her first solo song," Shuri informs her brother.

"But why now?" Bruce points out, speaking up for the first time.

"She's been having a terrible time with the media lately. Last week, she made history, with fifteen soul marks spotted on her body. The reporters hated it."

"Interesting," Vision comments, his mind beginning to wonder about her.

Shuri presses play, and Freya comes out from behind a greek statue.

A voice recording speaks.

"Shakespeare once said, 'Be who you are, not who the world wants you to be'. This is my testament to him and his words."

The song plays, and by the time she reaches the first chorus, even Natasha is close to tears.

'I love you for being in my dreams. For being a part of my soul...But I hate you for letting them only be dreams, and taking them with you when you left.'
