"Sanju, come on." Her father nudged her by the shoulder, a ten-year-old Sanjana refused to budge. She sat down on the ground with her arms folded, tears brimming her eyes.
"No! All of my friends are here." She cast a stubborn glance at her father, who was towering over her. The older man sighed, lifting his daughter in his arms, he strode toward the car. Sanjana threw a fit, kicking and crying.
A boy with deep brown eyes stuck his head out of the corner, "Sanju?"
His eyes widened, tripping over his own feet, he hurried to the car.
"Where are you going, Uncle?" He tugged at the shirt sleeve of the older and taller man.
"I have a job offer in New York, so we're going there." He ruffled the oily and combed hair of young Kamlesh Nagarkoti.
"You'll be back right?"
"I wish,"
Another ten years flew by, but something lurked in the depths of Kamlesh Nagarkoti's heart. For some reason, he just couldn't forget his best friend, Sanjana. She was the more bold one, the one who pranked the community. The one who always held a special place in his heart. At Ten Years old, he hadn't known that feeling was love.
"He's daydreaming again," Another voice groaned, earning a bark of laughter from his gathered friends. Snapping out of his daydreams and flashbacks, he spotted Shubman Gill fetching a tub of water he planned to drench him with.
"Oh, never mind, he's back to reality." Shubman dropped the tub, the contests swishing around.
"Did you even hear the last thing that I said?" Ishan Kishan demanded with a wry grin, Kamlesh returned it with his own sarcastic smile,
"Yes, it was, 'Did you hear the last thing that I said' " He quoted, earning a smack on the head with a pillow.
"Idiot, Meri Cousin Ki Shaadi!" He reminded, with a roll of his eyes.
"Don't roll them too far back, they might get stuck there." Shubman retorted stingingly, earning a few snickers from the gathered gang of immature boys. Kamlesh zoned out once more, laughing whenever the entire gang burst out with laughter and nodded stupidly even though he didn't know what he was agreeing to.
His life was flying by, according to everyone, he had everything a guy his age could want. Fame, Sucess, and a career in his passion. But something was off, something was missing.
He missed a key part of him, he missed Sanjana Vohra.
"I wish I could see you again," He mumbled, earning a few glances from Shubman and Ishan.
"Oi Duffer, Why would you want to see my cousin?" Ishan arched an eyebrow, Kamlesh shook his head, dismissing the insult and question.

Kamlesh tugged at the itchy formal wear, he heard an inelegant squeak from his side.
"Watch out!" A feminine voice called, suddenly he was hit with an impact and was sprawled on the floor.
"Sorry!" The girl apologized a few thousand times, Kamlesh blinked, staring at her. Something about her made his heart skip a beat or two.
"Kamlesh, you better not be checking out my Uncle's daughter." A hand swung around his shoulder, Ishan.
"You're related to her?" Kamlesh turned to her, mildly surprised. Ishan grinned with a nod.
"Ah, I suppose a donkey could be related to a peacock sometimes," Kamlesh nodded, Ishan took a few seconds to understand what he'd meant.
"You-" Ishan started, Kamlesh closed his ears before the sentence was finished and ran off. A few minutes passed, Kamlesh turned to Ishan.
"What's your cousin's name?" Kamlesh asked ever so casually, earning a laugh from Ishan.
"Sanjana Vohra, she lives in New York."
Kamlesh Nagarkoti spat his drink out on Ishan, earning a glare and earful from him. Kamlesh stumbled and tripped, running to where Sanjana was sitting.
"Hi!" She chirped, a sense of disappointment lurking in her eyes.
"Been Ten Long Years, hasn't it?" He smiled, running a hand through a hair. Sanjana's eyes widened with realization, "I thought you forgot..." She mumbled softly,
"Well... I wish we could go out for coffee and catch up." He offered, Kamlesh tried his best to ignore Ishan Kishan's burning gaze.
"I think we'll need more than coffee to catch up on ten years worth of gossip." She smirked, Kamlesh took this as a hint and inhaled sharply before blurting out.
"How about Lunch?"
"..Sure?"
Just lunch and catching up, turned into more meals, beaches and so much more.
Wishes do come true.
