I shifted on my feet, feeling lost at the large complex building. I was at an engineering college, basically, the hell of all Indians.
"Damn it, where's the auditorium?" I pondered, my eyes raking across the different segments of the college.
"On block B, turn right after passing the Library." A feminine voice responded, I turned to thank whoever it was. It was a slim girl with a ID card.
"Student?" I tilted my head, she shook her head.
"Student Teacher," She corrected, I nodded as if I understood the term.
"Pretend that I don't know what that is..." I ran a hand through my hair with a sheepish smile.
"It means I'm a teacher in training here." She laughed, motioning him to follow her.
"Shubman," I introduced myself, she turned to him and stuck her hand out.
"Shefali," Her sweet smile appeared on her facial features once more. She stopped in front of a wide spruce door.
"That's my stop," I shrugged, entering the large room. I was instructed to give a speech about 'graduating'. I did what I knew best, crack stupid jokes and tell them my story.
"You know, you shouldn't be afraid to ask for help." I started, sparing a glance at where Shefali stood.
"I had to ask for help, I got lost in this hella big college." My voice echoed across the room. "I don't think I'll be able to find the entrance again without help..."
Shefali stifled a laugh, and gave me a thumbs-up, assuring me that she'll help. My speech ended on a comic note, I'd asked if anyone was still awake. Turning my back to the laughing audience of newly freed students, I headed toward Shefali.
"Help me in this labyrinth of a college," I smirked, she rolled her eyes and pushed her way to the door. The two of us walked in silence.
"Since your literal google maps, know any good cafes around?" I asked her casually, she shrugged.
"There's a few. dependent on what you expect out of the cafe." She chewed on her bottom lip, thinking.
"I'm looking for a cafe where I can take a student teacher out on a date," I grinned, the tips of her ears turn red.
"Then I'd recommend the Book Corner," She smiled,
"Well then, shall we?" I held out my arm, she raised an eyebrow.
"Are you asking me out?" She seemed startled,
"Yes."
"..Alright..." She mumbled shyly.
