V. TAHITI

Shield Trauma Zentrum                                                                                             Zurich, Switzerland.

"She was shot twice in the abdomen at close range, almost two hours ago."

Coulson said as paramedics, Jemma, and he wheeled the Skye's hyperbaric chamber into an operating room. He had the bus land at a Shield medical facility immediately.

"She's tachycardic, hypotensive, and lost a significant amount of blood," Jemma added urgently. "We had to lower her core body temp in order to transport her here."

"That's probably what kept her alive this long," The EMT guessed as they rolled inside the operating room. "We'll do everything we can." The doctors rushed her inside, all adoring sea-foam uniforms and latex gloves.

Jemma and Coulson watched from outside the glass doors brandishing the Shield insignia. "Oh, dear..." Jemma said. "I'm a mess."

"No." Coulson affirmed. "You were great."

As they watched, Skye was fitted with a breathing tube, and the medical team removed her shirt to find the entry wound. They cleared off the blood, and soaked the excess, whilst preparing anesthetic to inject.

Waiting Room.

The team sat distraught in the waiting room. Jemma, Nick and Fitz shared a couch, while Eddie sat across from them, completely deep in thought. Even though he was told not to blame himself, he still did. Skye was his trainee, and he had failed her.

Ward sat across as well, hoping Skye could make it through. "I'm here. That's unacceptable." Coulson said on the phone to a Shield tech. "I need to speak to Director Fury immediately, please."

Zach & Ella were standing by, pulled from their duty of watching Quinn in his cell on the Bus. "Why didn't we stop her?" Fitz asked Nick and Zach. "We could've..."

"We couldn't stop her anyways, Fitz," Nick uttered as he placed his hand to his forehead. "She was hellbent on stopping him."

"But we shouldn't have let her go by herself." Zach voiced. "Otherwise she wouldn't be fighting for her life right now!"

"It's none of your faults," Eddie spoke up after his prolonged silence. "It's mine. She shouldn't have been there. I'm her S.O — it's on me."

May looked to her son, still seeing he was blaming himself. "The one to blame is the man who shot her." She told the team. "Ian Quinn. He's responsible."

"Best believe we're gonna get answers out of that human shitsack." Ella seethed.

"Yes, the message is I have an agent dying, and there are questions only he can answer," Coulson repeated on the phone before hanging up and slamming it on the countertop.

The team had never seen Coulson so... invigorated. It was a first for any of them.

An hour later, a surgeon had come from the operating room, as the entire team looked at her to see if a breakthrough had been made. But from the look on her face, it didn't look so good.

"How is she?" Coulson asked.

"Not good," The surgeon responded honestly. "The shots perforated her stomach and penetrated the large and small intestines. We resected what we could, but..."

The surgeon paused before collecting herself. "There's been too much damage."

"So what's next?" Coulson asked again.

"We can keep her comfortable." The surgeon uttered. "But you'll need to make a decision on whether or not you want to keep her on life-support."

The team was in shock. "You're saying there's nothing to be done?" Coulson asked.

The surgeon nodded and decided what she had to tell them. "I'm saying you need to call her family. Get them here as soon as possible."

Coulson looked down for a moment. He was even investigating as to why Skye was left an orphan, as the two discovered that the woman who put her in Saint Agnes was a Shield Agent. In reality, Skye didn't even know who her family was.

"We're her family," Coulson affirmed to the surgeon. "In that case — I'm very sorry," The surgeon whispered.

The team sat back down, and May left the room. They were more distraught than ever.

Quinn sat in the Bus' holding cell, chained to the table. Suddenly, the door opened, letting in some light in the damp cell, as Eddie, Nick, & Zach stood by and closed the door.

"Finally," Quinn announced, with no remorse for what he'd done. "I was beginning to think you had forgotten about—"

"Do it," Eddie told Zach & Nick, as Zach rushed behind Quinn, grabbed his head and slammed it hard into the table, holding him against it. Nick took his chair and threw it aside, as Zach held Quinn back up, restraining his arms.

"Ouch – you're hurting me!" Quinn cried in pain.

"That's the fucking point, genius." Zach snarled as Nick landed clean jabs in Quinn's gut, making him curl in pain.

"Oh, does that hurt?" Nick chortled at him. "Good, it should." He moved out of the way so Eddie could grab him by his collar, and threw him hard into the ground.

"Wait — you can't!" Quinn breathed for air, as Eddie leaned down to his level.

"Why, douchebag?" Eddie muttered as he punched him in the face. "Cause you're defenseless? So was she."

Quinn received another punch in the face followed by multiple others. "Okay, man, I think he's had enough—" Nick tried to tell him, but Eddie kept hurting him.

"Eddie, stop!" Zach yelled. He still didn't. Quinn kept getting punch after punch, even cried in pain as he felt his knee shatter.

"Eddie! EDDIE!" May yelled as she opened the door, along with Coulson and Ward to which he finally stopped.

"Outside. Now." Coulson commanded. Zach propped back Quinn's chair as Nick and Eddie left the room, and Zach had placed Quinn back on it.

"There." Zach huffed as Quinn was placed back on his chair, but he was still grinning with glee. "Oh, you're still gonna be an asshole? Let's see if you're grinning after this."

CRACK.

"AUGGHHHHHHHHHH!" A tortured scream emerged from Quinn's voice as Zach left the room. "What did you do?" May asked him, wondering what made Quinn squeal so loudly.

"I broke his arm," Zach admitted. "I broke it so hard, it's bending the other way."

"He deserves to die! Not her!" Eddie shouted in Coulson's office.

"That's more than agreed, Eddie." Coulson argued. "But right now, Quinn doesn't matter. Only Skye does, and I need you to be on your game."

"You heard what they said, Coulson!" Eddie argued again, on the verge of tears.

"She said there was nothing they could do for her," Coulson affirmed. "But there are doctors who brought me back from the dead."

"If they can do that, I'm betting they can save Skye."

The Bus

A hydraulic machine pushed a medical module containing Skye into the Bus. She was unconscious on the gurney, attached with a breathing mask and IV drip. Coulson watched as the module was slowly eased into the Bus, just as Ward walked in.

"H.Q. radioed in," Ward started. "They've ordered us to hand over Quinn for interrogation and transport to the Fridge. Do you want me to arrange the transfer?"

The Fridge was yet another Shield housing and storing facility, along with a prison for those who Shield has captured.

"No." Coulson ordered. "Quinn stays in our custody until I say otherwise."

"Yes, sir," Ward acknowledged. "Are you sure about this? Taking her all the way to Bethesda?"

"It's where my file says I was treated after New York." Coulson replied.

"I understand, but what makes you think the doctors there will be able to do anything different? I know they saved you, but—"

"They did a lot more than save me." Coulson professed. "It's time you know the truth."

—----------------------------------

Coulson explained to the rest of the team that he was never treated on Tahiti, the island. Tahiti was a project established by Director Fury, and the memories that Coulson had of the island were false. He was resurrected against his will.

But Coulson believed that the project could be the key to saving Skye's life. He had given all the reports Fury allowed him to have about it to Fitz & Simmons, to replicate the procedure, and referred Dr. Streiten, who performed the procedure.

Fitz & Jemma studied the procedure along with Zach & Ella, Eddie stayed watching over the containment module, Ward and Nick were interrogating Quinn, and May flew the Bus.

As May continued flying, a voice spoke up from the dashboard.

"Shield 6-1-6, this is Tower Micheal Tango. You are in violation of Shield directive 1297. Respond immediately."

"Disobeying a direct order," May muttered as she responded to the call. "We didn't hand over Quinn for interrogation."

Above them in the sky, May noticed two other jets in the air as she clicked the dash. "This is Shield 6-1-6. How do we proceed?"

"Prepare to be boarded and relinquish command."

"Really?" Coulson badgered as he heard the news. "All the war and chaos in the world, and Shield sends a plane after us?"

"Three planes," Zach noticed from the window. "Small transport and two F-35s to make sure we hand over Quinn." A loud thud shook the ship as above, the transport ship docked on top of the Bus.

"They scratch my paint, I'm gonna be pissed." Coulson remarked as he looked at Zach, Ward & Nick.

"We'll await your orders, sir." Nick obliged.

An older man stepped down a ladder from the docking bay, and dusted off his uniform. However, Coulson seemed to recognize him. "Garrett?" Coulson asked. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Well, as opposed to the Level Eight jackass I'm staring at," Garrett spoke in a Southern drawl. "I still follow orders."

"You're the worst at following orders." retorted Coulson.

"Maybe... but I like this one." Garrett grinned as he reached into his jacket, and pulled a paper order. "You are to immediately turn Ian Quinn over for transport to the Fridge."

"Who's this guy?" Zach asked the two other agents, as they turned to him. "Agent John Garrett," Ward answered. "He was my supervising officer."

Another agent came down the rails after Garrett, a young man with sideburns who approached Garrett. "Agent Antione Triplett," Garrett introduced his agent to Coulson, then vice-versa. "Agent Phil Coulson.

"You wouldn't know it to look at him, but Phil's one of our finest." Garrett added to Antione.

"An honor, sir." Triplett spoke up.

"Trip joined me as my specialist after Ward came to your circus," Garrett proceeded before turning to Trip. "Go secure the prisoner."

"Yes, sir." Trip answered and walked to Quinn's cell.

"Phil, come on," Garrett told Coulson as he guided him into his office. "Just because Fury gave you this pretty plane doesn't mean they won't shoot it out of the sky."

"Why are you really here, Garrett?" Coulson growled as he stood behind his desk. "Shield could have sent any security team to collect Quinn, why you?"

Garrett stayed silent, and stared at Coulson, as he gave a look of realization. "You've been chasing him too."

"Since Malta," Garrett confessed. "Then yesterday, your little Italian job cost my team weeks of work."

"You can't have him." Coulson attested. "Not yet."

"This isn't a request."

"Quinn shot one of my agents," Coulson exclaimed. "She's on life support in a med pod downstairs. We're taking her to the trauma center in Bethesda."

Garrett looked surprised. "Quinn actually pulled the trigger?" He asked, almost unbelievably. "Skye infiltrated his compound in Malta. When he saw her yesterday, it seems he took it personally."

"I never took him for a triggerman." Garrett claimed. "He pays others for that. I've lost three of my own chasing him."

"Then you understand why I can't give him to you until we save my agent?" Coulson affirmed.

"Because if she doesn't make it..."

"Let's just say Quinn will have more than a shattered knee and a severely broken arm," Coulson remarked, to Garrett's shock.

Bus Foyer

Trip had wandered the rooms of the Bus, trying to find Quinn's cell, but couldn't find it at all, and he was amazed that the Bus had a full bar, and wonderful amenities inside. However, he did have a good exchange of words between his predecessor, Grant Ward.

Nick had taken a liking to Trip, as he was pretty nice, and they'd also talked about other interests alongside Shield matters. But as Ward and Trip's words got heated as to what to do with Quinn, they had gotten into a fight, much to the other agent's disappointment.

However, Coulson and Garrett announced they'd come to an agreement. "Saving the girl's top priority," Garrett had established to his former and current specialists. Garrett would interrogate Quinn while they flew to Bethesda.

At the same time, Zach & Ella were with Jemma and Fitz deciphering what they could from the documents Coulson gave them. They came across the drug known as "G.H. 325".

Garrett had entered Quinn's cell, and was surprised to see Quinn's arm in a cast, and his face covered in his own blood, courtesy of a busted nose.

"Here I thought I was gonna get to play bad cop." Garrett spat towards him.

"Ian Quinn," Coulson began as he closed the door. "This is Agent Garrett. He's here to ask you some questions."

"Oh, no — thank you," Quinn spoke up. "I —- My head's still ringing from the last visitors, & The Avenger broke my arm — god, it hurts.

"Damn reason they're called Avengers," Garrett joked. "And at least they left you with a head. I'm not that considerate. I'm interested in one of your newer projects."

"Hmm?" Quinn hummed, still in pain. "Oh, but there's — so many to choose from?"

Garrett lunged at Quinn, grabbing his silver tongue, making him grunt in more agony. "Let me be clear," Garrett challenged him. "You have no rights, you have no lawyer."

"The only thing keeping Agent Coulson from getting that Avenger to drop you out of the sky, is the very weak beat of a young agent downstairs, and the only incentive I have for not tearing your tongue out is that you use it to answer my questions."

"Is that clear?" Garrett finished. Quinn mumbled, as Garrett looked to Coulson. "You understand that?" He asked sarcastically, as he continued to literally hold his tongue.

"No." Coulson answered.

Quinn groaned in more pain as Garrett twisted his tongue painfully, making him nod. He released his tongue, as Quinn took deep breaths.

"Tell us about Cybertek and the Deathlok Program," Garrett questioned him as he took a seat.

"Deathlok?" asked Coulson.

"Catchy, right?" Garrett laughed. "Sounds like some wrestler from the '80s." He turned his attention back to Quinn. "What is it really?"

"Those are some dangerous waters," Quinn confessed. "And the last agent that waded into them wound up with two in the stomach."

Coulson lunged at Quinn, as Garrett held him back, but aggressively slapped the shit out of Quinn.

"So... she's still alive?" Quinn asked.

"Yeah," Coulson raged. "And you better hope she stays that way." Garrett added.

"Otherwise," Coulson admitted. "I will have Zach drop you out of the sky. Is that why you shot Skye? Because she saw what Cybertek delivered?"

"No!" Quinn exclaimed. "I shot Skye because that's what the Clairvoyant told me to do."

Quinn confessed that everything he had done, it was his orders from the Clairvoyant, including getting three of Garrett's killed. He had seen everything... apart from how Coulson was brought back to life.

How it seemed Coulson thought he was gone for seconds, when he was dead for days.

The Clairvoyant had Skye shot so they could finally figure out how Coulson lived. Either she dies, or they find the truth.

—----------------------------------

At the same time, the four agents in the lab discovered the medical center they were going to, or the doctors who operated on Coulson didn't exist. Dr. Streiten had gone off the grid as well.

Jemma was even skeptical after reading about the drugs used, or the procedures, on whether they even submit Skye to what Coulson had gone through. Yet Coulson persisted in doing anything they could to save Skye's life.

Even if it allowed the Clairvoyant to get exactly what they wanted. The only piece of the puzzle they had that held a sliver of hope was the drug, G.H. 325.

Jemma had said minutes after Coulson was injected, his cells were regenerating instantly.

But with Fitz's echo chamber, the four agents were able to scour the Shield Archives from the Triskelion, and were able to piece together a timeline of Coulson's resurrection, and obtain more information.

Especially with a collapsed WW2 bunker named, "The Guest House." and where it was.

Hours later, The Bus arrived outside the landscape of the Guest House. "The Guest House is not a Shield Facility." Coulson instructed as he readied his firearm. "We do not know who or what is in there. Be prepared for potential resistance."

Eddie and Garrett were suiting up to enter the Guest House. "No contact from the inside?" asked Garrett.

"I've tried every channel," May affirmed. "No response."

"Place could be abandoned." Eddie acknowledged, with a worried look on his face. "Let's hope not." Coulson acknowledged.

Fitz readied a bag, as Zach walked out of the lab with him, with his suit being in stealth. "Simmons & Ella are prepping Skye to move at a moment's notice, sir." Fitz reported to Coulson.

"Trip can help," Garrett offered. "He's had med-tech training."

"Good," Coulson acknowledged. "We do our jobs right, this will all go peacefully."

"And what if they don't want to help us?" Eddie asked.

Garrett loaded up a sniper, "I'll say pretty please." He muttered, just as Zach made his arms power up. "Or he can."

"We need the doctors alive, and the place intact," Coulson instructed once more. "If it does go sideways, Fitz, Zach," he turned to them. "I need you two down there to determine what Simmons can use to help Skye. And then we take it. Let's move."

The team of five stepped out of the Bus, and approached the entrance of the bunker. Coulson eyed a camera, thinking people were watching, and surely enough, his suspicions were confirmed when some spoke up.

"How was the drive from Istanbul?"

"Countersign?" Coulson asked Garrett, who simply shrugged. "No clue." He responded.

"Never heard it." Eddie & Zach piped in.

"I can't find it in any of Shield's protocol directives." Fitz added, as he looked through his tablet. Coulson looked back to the camera, and made direct eye contact.

"This is Agent Coulson with Shield," He said clearly. "We don't know the counter but we have a team member in dire need of medical assistance."

"We know she can be treated here," He continued. "Open the doors, maybe we can work something out. Do you copy?"

The voice behind the camera was silent for a few seconds. However, when it came back, it asked the same question.

"How was the drive from Istanbul?"

"We're looking for medical assistance," Coulson repeated. "A person's life is at stake. Will you help us?"

"How was the drive from Istanbul?" said the now-agitated voice.

Garrett lifted his gun. "Pretty please it is." He announced as Eddie took out his gun and shot directly at the camera, taking it down. Coulson nodded at Zach, who pressed his fists together, powering up and blasted through the door.

As they began their raid, the two guards inside the bunker started to arm themselves. "These guys are good..." One of them muttered. "They have something to take down our doors."

"How'd the hell did they find this place?" The other asked his friend.

"Doesn't matter," the first guard instructed, as he finished loading his weapon. "Didn't know the countersign."

"You want left or right?" He asked the other.

"Left's good," The guard shrugged.

—----------------------------------

The team of five stowed away above an elevator as Fitz used one of his 12 drones to monitor the halls below them. "There's an antechamber, and a set of glass doors." He reported. "Can't see much beyond that — lights are all out."

"Well, they know we're coming," Coulson pointed out. "Let's go say hello."

Eddie dropped down the chute and landed on his feet, pointing his firearm in case of assailants. Luckily, there weren't any.

"Clear!" He shouted to the others, as they dropped down after him. Before they jumped, Fitz and Zach decided to radio in to the others.

"O-K, Simmons, Ella," Fitz made contact. "We're going in now."

However, there was no response, and Zach tried to radio. "El, Jem? Nick?" He said through the comms. "Do you read me?"

Still no answer. "Damn it..." The two whispered as they dropped through the chute.

"Comms are down," Fitz reported to the other three. "There's too much mountain on top of us."

"We are so fucked..." Zach whispered. "So so fucked."

"Trust me, it's better..." Garrett elaborated. "You don't want them hearing the horrible death we're walking into." However, both Zach & Fitz were horrified by his explanation.

"What the fuck, man..." Zach muttered, while Fitz remained awestruck. "Humor, kids." Garrett clarified. "The Brit's being too serious."

"You must be so much fun at the family reunion," Zach sarcastically replied.

"Besides — if the job were easy..." Garrett explained. "It wouldn't be any fun."

"I'm not afraid," Fitz finally spoke up as they advanced forward. "Not yet — I suspect the real danger won't happen until we breach that bulletproof glass." he turned around to observe his surroundings, finding a pathway to another place.

"Probably a stairwell back to the surface," He deduced as the team approached the sides of the antechamber. Fitz laid down his backpack near the control panel, and started to gather his things.

"What do you think, Fitz?" Coulson asked the younger agent. "Can you get us inside?"

"To certain, horrible death?" Fitz repeated Garrett's terrifying sense of humor as he tinkered around. "Absolutely." He placed his makeshift lock-pick onto the control device.

"Okay, sir," Fitz exclaimed. "Just say the word." Coulson nodded, and directed to the others. "Once we get inside, everyone find cover."

Garrett, Eddie, and Zach nodded, and Coulson approved. "All right, gentleman," He began. "Here we go."

Fitz pressed the button on his device, and the door beeped, sliding open slowly. The group slowly dispersed to find cover, as the doors slowly slid back shut behind them.

Suddenly, two sources of gunshots emerged from further into the room from the darkness, firing into anything above them, even putting bullets through a box of Healthy Wheat O's.

The agents all ducked down to above the bullets or to show themselves as the bullets kept raining. When it seemed they ran out of ammo, Coulson took his opportunity.

"We've come for medical assistance!" He repeated once more. "But you continue to firing on us, we will defend oursel—"

However, his opportunity was also theirs, as they reloaded and continued firing. Eddie slid back for a moment, to look up without getting shot. "I count two hostiles." He told the others.

"Copy that." Garrett answered, thinking the same thing he was. "Ready?"

The two ducked out out their hiding spots and shot back at the others, giving the three a chance to see what their next move was. As Coulson got a few shots, he looked back down to Fitz and Zach. "Can you blind them?" He asked.

"Oh, I can, most definitely," Zach approved as his fist light up. He then rushed out as the energy in his fists built up and when he was inbound, he let his fist out, releasing a flash of blinding light, allowing Eddie and Garrett to fire back at their opponents.

Garrett jumped over the desk and landed right in front of them, taking his gun to the other's gut and shot him. "Clear!" He shouted to everyone.

"See if you can get some lights on," Coulson instructed Fitz, as he got up to find lights. Garrett, however, found the man's ID, and looked back at him.

"Sorry, Bob," He remarked as he patted Bob's dead body. "No hard feelings."

"Is he fucking crazy?" Zach asked Eddie, who shrugged, yet agreeing with him. "We're not done," Eddie remarked as he looked down at the other guard's blood. "This one's hit. Shouldn't be too hard to find."

—----------------------------------

Eddie and Coulson ventured deeper into the bunker, keeping an eye out for each other whilst searching for the guard. Coulson turned the corner, as his flashlight shone on the wounded guard, who slouched against the wall with his weapon on the ground.

The guard squinted at the sight of light and groaned as the agents flocked him. Eddie kicked his gun away from him, as Coulson kneeled down.

"We're gonna get your medical help," He respectfully told the guard as he nicked his keys away. "Is anyone else down here? Where are the doctors?"

"Med staff doesn't stay here..." the guard groaned, still against the wall.

"We're looking for a drug; G.H-325," Coulson explained. "It might help you too." The guard still groaned and looked at Coulson. "Do — Do I... know you?" He muttered softly.

"I... I dunno," Coulson admitted. "I might've spent some time here a while back."

"Then you know—" The guard choked. "About the Timer..."

"We got a problem!" Garrett's voice announced loudly to the two as Coulson turned to the source and turned back to the guard. It was too late; He had passed away.

The two ran back to the antechamber, as Fitz, Zach & Garrett were observing the ceiling. "Semtex," Garrett announced. "The whole place is rigged to blow."

He was right. On the ceiling of the chamber were several yellow rectangles labeled "PETN" and "Explosive". "There's enough explosive to bring down the entire mountain on top of us," Fitz added.

"We have less than 10 minutes." Zach remarked as he found the countdown. "Most probably a failsafe. If the guards did kill us, the timer would stop."

"Emergency override," Fitz clarified. "Skye could probably get past it, but neither Zach & I can hack it, which means we're trapped in here."

Coulson turned to Garrett. "You're the guy who taught Ward how to disarm nuclear bombs," He directed him. "Figure out a way to get us out of here."

"Let's go find the drug," Coulson instructed his agents as they fled to find the elusive Guest House.

Aboard the Bus

Trip watched alongside Ella, Jemma and Nick as they looked over Skye's unconscious body. "Tough when it's your team..." Trip spoke up. "You guys go back a ways?"

"No." Ella answered truthfully. "We only met her a few months ago."

"We have nothing in common," Jemma added. "Couldn't be more different."

"But you can't imagine your life without her," Trip finished their thoughts exactly. "Have you experienced that, Trip?" Nick asked honestly.

"I have," Trip replied. "Sometimes, a person takes you by surprise." He turned back to watch her. "She's very lucky to have you all." He said straightforwardly. "I know if anything bad ever happens to me, hope you're all there in my corner."

The three nodded with his sentiments silently. "Has anyone heard from Zach? Or Fitz or my brother?" Ella asked. "We've had radio silence since they entered."

"Comms are down," May's voice recalled from behind them as she appeared next to Nick. "If I don't hear anything within the hour, I'm going after them."

Suddenly, the medical module beeped furiously and Skye's body convulsed and started to shake. "Skye's coding, all of you NOW!" Jemma shouted as she rushed into the module, and began chest compressions.

"How can we help?" May asked urgently.

"I need a unit of Epi!" Jemma exclaimed, and Ella immediately rushed in and out with an injection.

Underneath the Bunker.

The four looked quickly around the hallway until Coulson found a room embossed with the word, "VIEWING" on it. He felt a sense of familiarity coming from the room, and pushed it opened, as Eddie, Zach and Fitz followed after him.

It was indeed familiar to Coulson. He was in the viewing chamber of the operating room, looking down on the machine with multiple probes, remembering how they poked and messed with his brain.

He could remember himself on the bed, screaming "Let me die!" and "Please, let me die!" He could practically feel the sensation of the needles on his brains as the memory flashed before him.

"Is this where..." Zach spoke up as Eddie and Fitz looked down, wondering if this was the room where Coulson was resurrected.

"Yeah." was all Coulson said.

They ventured into another room within it, named "Biohazard Containment" with a wheel needed to unlock it. "Sir, are you positive you want to—" Eddie began, but Coulson didn't listen. He spun the wheel to open the door.

The Biohazard room was, of course, full of chemicals, vails, test tubes and all sorts of things. "We should put on the suits before we go in," Fitz recommended as he picked up a set from the counter.

"You're right," Coulson acknowledged. "But there's no time." Fitz put down the suits, and continued searching for the GH.

"I wish I could talk to Simmons..." He remarked. "She'd know what most of this stuff is... or, at least, what stuff not to touch."

The four searched everything in the biohazard room, finding anything but GH-325, but took what else they could. Eddie turned to find a cooler that they hadn't checked yet, and grabbed the guy's attention.

Fitz walked to turn on it's lights, and the four kept searching urgently. However, Zach turned on the other cooler, finding a green container with the biohazard logo. He looked down to the door, and found that it was locked.

"This one's locked!" He called out to the agents, as Coulson fiddled with the guard's keys, inserting one of them, and silently applauding when he opened it. Zach started to reach in, and pulled it open.

"Time to go!" Garrett rushed in. "Couldn't stop it, four minutes and counting." He looked up to the ceiling. "Oh, Semtex up here too!"

Zach pulled the biohazard container open, discovering three vials inside, but one was labelled with what they were looking for; GH-325.

"GH-325!" Zach exclaimed. "We got it!" He stood up, and passed gloves and the vial to Fitz. "Fitz, Eddie, get that up to Simmons." Coulson added.

However, that didn't stop him or Zach from finding the room named...

Tahiti.

Abroad the Bus

"Weak, erratic heart rate," Simmons described Skye's charts. "Each time we save her, I ask myself... Is this what Skye would want?"

"We didn't come this far to quit." May answered her queries.

Suddenly, the radio came to life, as Fitz's voice blared. "Get off — bzzzz — the ground — bzzz —immediately!"

"They're alive!" Ella exclaimed. "Maybe we can..." At that moment, Skye's heart rate began to flatline once again, and Ella started the chest compressions.

"Fitz, come in!" May shouted. "What's your status?"

—----------------------------------

Coulson and Zach were horrified by what they discovered in the TAHITI Room. It was something they'd laid eyes on and something they could never unsee. "Phil, what the hell?" John called them. "Clock's not slowing down, it's about to get real warm in here."

Garrett noticed the sullen looks on their faces, noticing they had the same expression of shock on their faces. "Hey, you two with me?" He shook them slightly. "They guys are out already, they took the drug up to Skye."

Zach broke out of his momentary glance and looked at Garrett. "They can't give it to her." He said with a look of fear. "They can't give her GH-325."

"Well, you two can tell them yourselves!" Garrett explained. "We have to get out of her first."

"No, John, don't give it to her!" Coulson pleaded. "The drug — they can't give it to her!"

"Like I said, you can tell them yourselves," Garrett reasoned. "Right now, we just need to get out of this mountain and off the ground. Now let's go!"

"You want more epinephrine?" Trip asked as Ella continued chest-compressions. At the same moment, Fitz ran into the room, and showed off the vial. "We found it!" He exclaimed.

"What is it?" Jemma asked hysterically. "And how much, injected where?"

Ward had called to May to get ready to get off the ground, as she flipped switches and pressed buttons, readying for them to get out of the area. And just in the nick of time, Garrett, Coulson and Zach made it onto the Bus.

Coulson rushed to the module, followed by Zach & Garrett as he exclaimed, "No! Don't do it—"

But it was already done. Eddie had injected her with GH-325.

"We were losing her, anyway" Jemma explained to them. "What harm can it do?" The monitor continued to beep slowly, and as if it were a miracle, Skye's heart rate adjusted to normal.

"It's working..." Garrett claimed.

But that miracle had passed.

Skye's body seized once more, and her body jerked upwards. Her blood pressure rose along with her heart rate, and everyone started to panic once again.

"She's spiking!" Jemma exclaimed.

"Stop it!" Eddie yelled. "How can we stop it! SKYE!"

"What's happening?" Coulson yelled to Jemma, who began to sob again. "I don't know—" Jemma replied.

"Do something!!" Zach shouted. "We have to do something!"

However, her heart beat stabilized once again, and her body settled down. "Can someone tell me what we just saw?" Ward asked the entire room.

"Girl's a fighter..." Trip proclaimed. "What was that stuff you just gave her?"

"Literal miracle drug did its goddamn magic," Zach started, as he looked to Coulson, who turned around with May, ushering him to join him.

"Did something happen down there?" May asked Garrett, as they talked outside the capsule. "I'm not sure," Garrett confessed. "One minute, they were fine..."

"The next, it was like they saw a ghost."

—----------------------------------

Quinn was given good and bad news just minutes after Skye's life was saved.

The bad news was the Clairvoyant could never reach his hands on GH-325 since the bunker collapsed, and Quinn was left to rot in prison for murder, since they have video evidence of him proving him.

Good news was... he kept his tongue.

Garrett & Trip had arrested Quinn, and taken him into Shield custody. Now Zach & Coulson were sitting in his office, in silence of what they saw. They still couldn't believe their eyes.

Hours ago.

Coulson opened the door to the Tahiti room, followed by Zach, who held up his powered fist as a source of light within the damp, dark room. Coulson looked around the room, as Zach continued to light their way.

Coulson had set his eyes on another cooler of similarly colored vials, filtered out by blue tubes. However they were ALL labeled by the Guest House.

"GH-319... GH-211... GH-325?" Zach questioned aloud. "Are these all the same? Number never mattered?"

"This was what Tahiti really was..." Coulson remarked. They followed the path of the tubes, which filtered through a bluish device, which then flowed from a circular notch in the wall next to another circle labeled "GH".

Coulson look another look, and reached out to press the red button, looking to Zach and back to the circle. It expanded out of it's hiding space was what they could never believe.

The Bisected corpse of a Kree Soldier.

Flesh was decaying off the body as it floated in blue solution. It's nails were long, and what remained of his entrails were being filtered from the tubes filtering it's blood.

GH-325 was its own blood.

Back to present time.

Both men were happy that Skye survived, and didn't have to suffer like Phil did, which they had confessed to May, keeping their secrets.

"Hey, do you all have time to talk?" asked Eddie, who stood alongside Ella by the doorframe. "I wanted to talk to you guys."

Coulson welcomed him in, and Zach stood up from his seat, and was about to leave, but Eddie had stopped him. "This includes you too, Zach." He said quietly, as Zach nodded, staying in the office.

"I wanted to let all of you know that I am resigning as Skye's Supervising officer," Eddie announced, as every person looked at him in shock. "I don't want to see her hurt again, and if I can't give her the protection she needs as an agent, I am unfit to be her Supervising Officer."

"And I would like to hand over this responsibility to Zach," Eddie said as he turned to him, as he looked back to him, awestruck. "Wait– what? Me?"

"I don't think there's anyone better than him to do it." Eddie finished. "He is an Avenger after all."

"Technically, so was Coulson." Zach retorted. "Look, I appreciate the opportunity, but have you even told her you're resigning it to me?"

"No." Eddie answered. "Because I'm also going to be away from Shield for the time being. I can't say why, but it's for something important."

"And you're still not going to tell her?" Ella repeated. "You should still, it's the least you can do!" Eddie shook his head. "If I taught her how to better protect herself, she wouldn't have to have been shot." He reasoned. "I can't face her. Not yet."

He also leaned in to whisper something into his sister's ear, whose eyes softened as she heard more from him. "I guess..." She begrudgingly answered. "But when you come back, you're apologizing for not telling her."

"But I will say goodbye to her." Eddie nodded as he received nods from both Coulson & May, and left the office. He made his way down to the module to see Skye for one last time.

He pecked her forehead gently, and whispered to her unconscious soul. "I'm sorry I failed you." He whispered as he wiped tears off his face. "I'm so sorry."

And with that, Eddie left the module, and left the Bus.

Not noticing her hands were moving.

Days later.                                                                                                              (After the events of Yes Men)

Days after the GH & a day after the Loriei situations, Skye was conscious and healing, but was still hurt that Eddie left because of her. She was confined to a hospital bed, as Zach sat across from her.

"So how are you feeling today?" Zach asked his now-trainee.

"Better, actually," Skye answered. "It still hurts about Eddie, but I'm not gonna go into it."

"And you don't have to, if you don't want to." Zach reassured her. "When you're able to, we'll go through everything one step at a time." Skye nodded in agreement, just as Ella knocked on the outside of the door.

"Oh, look who it is," Skye smiled, as Ella couldn't help but hug her. "Oh, careful! Careful!" Ella gently eased her hug so Skye was able to hug her back.

"How're you feeling, Skye?" Ella asked as she released her from her hug. "Much better," Skye noted. "Not like the boys, Jemma says that Fitz's head is still ringing."

Ella and Zach laughed with her, as they remembered how all the other boys, aside from Zach & Coulson, were under some sort of enchantment by the Asgardian sorceress, Loriei. The situation was so serious, that Lady Sif herself came to Earth from Asgard.

"Mind if I steal away your teacher for a few minutes?" Ella asked as she put her hand on Zach's shoulder. Skye nodded and raised her arm. "By all means," She smirked. "See ya, teach."

Ella led Zach back to Coulson's office, where they found the older agent looking through their orders. "How's Skye?" Coulson asked Zach, as he wore his usual smile.

"She's doing better," Zach answered. "As she's done with bed-rest, I'm hoping to teach her everything I've been taught."

"That might have to wait," Ella explained. "Agent Coulson has an assignment for us."

"That's right," Coulson said as he pulled up their assignment. "This is the Lemurian Star — it's one of Shield's mobile bases. Zach, you remember Agent Jasper Sitwell, don't you?"

An image of said agent appeared on the screen. "Course I remember Sitwell," Zach replied. "He was on the Helicarrier, tracking Loki."

"Didn't Jemma shoot him at the Hub?" Ella remarked. "With an ICER."

"He was, yes. He also got me anything he could on Tahiti," Coulson answered. "He was ordered to escort the Lumerian Star on course, however, the base was hijacked by pirates, more specifically—"

"Georges Batroc," Coulson read out. "Freelance mercenary, pirate and terrorist for hire. Your mission is to join the STRIKE team immediately."

"Just a question," Ella asked as she raised her hands. "Why are we assigned to this? Why us of all people?"

Coulson looked at them as if the answer was obvious. "This came directly from Director Fury." Coulson also took another look, and was pleasantly surprised. "And some of Zach's old friends are leading this mission."

"I'm pretty sure you know of Captain America & Agent Romanoff, yes?"

End of Part I.
