Chapter 2 - A lady's death

POV - Third

The birds chirped as the bright sun kissed it's feathers. Percy and Annabeth were peacefully asleep, but when the sun kissed their faces their eyes started to twitched open. Both woke up soundly along with them cursing at the sun god himself. Percy was the first one to stand, so he went to the kitchen and went to cook for breakfast. Annabeth then stood up next, she then went to take a hot bath. After taking a bath, she wore her clothes and then went to the dining table. Food was on the table, breakfast were blue pancakes with whipped cream and a blueberry on top (except the fact blue berries doesn't look blue in the inside.).

Annabeth took her seat and went for the syrup, she then poured a few in her pancakes and ate slowly. Percy then followed except he drowned his pancakes with syrup. "Percy, don't drown the pancake." Annabeth said in her morning voice, chuckling in the end. Percy gave her his signature grin and said, "I can't down, neither can my pancakes." Annabeth let out a small laugh and continued eating.

After eating Percy took a bath after. Later on, both were now in their clean clothes. Percy was wearing his Camp Half-blood t-shirt along with a blue cardigan, his pants were long gray-ish jeans, with his shoes as black combat shoes. Riptide was in his pocket. Meanwhile with Annabeth, she wore an oversized gray shirt which was inserted in black jeans, her hair was in a messy braid, and her shoes were leathered sandals that was perfect for kicking and to judo flip someone. Moving on, the couple was planning to visit camp later since they received an IM from Chiron just after Percy finished wearing his clothes. The old centaur (Sorry Chiron) told them that there was a small monster activity near camp and they were in need of help since most of the campers were in school, some are below twelve, with their roman siblings or family, and might be doing something inside camp. The mentor was scared that they might lose their lives since most of the year around campers were young while the older ones were either teaching or training the young and new ones.

Percy and Annabeth accepted the request and of course told their mentor they would come. But they were going to come after lunch. Both teens were planning to visit the beach to take some time to relax, and of course they were on their way already. But before they arrived, they went to stop at Sally's place just to take a jar of her famous blue cookies and bring it.

"Ok, we're here." Percy said as he waved off a good bye to the pegasi they borrowed from Camp Jupiter. They both used the fire escape and finally entered Sally's place. "Mom, I'm back!" Percy called as the teens heard foot steps coming for them. There Sally emerged from the halls of the apartment, the mother hugged the teens as they went in from the fire escape. Sally gave Perseus a kiss in the forehead and hugged Annabeth as tight like she could rival Tyson's. "I'm glad you two are safe. Now follow me to the kitchen, a certain little gremlin has been longing for you guy's arrival ever since I told her about you guys stopping by this morning." She said as she let out a cheery chuckle. Both teens followed the mother to the kitchen and was greeted by a loud squeal from a certain little child.

Estelle Kym Blofis greeted the two teens with an excited hug, she then let them go. She was in her finding dory pajamas and was wearing her beautiful cute smile. "Now, now Estelle, they will be only stopping for a short time so don't make them stay long also you have homework remember? After eating breakfast be sure to take a bath and finish your homework, your father will help you." She said to the eight years old girl. Estelle gave her an energetic nod and went back to her seat and continued eating her breakfast.

"Now dears I believe you two will be only here for a short time. The cookie jar is in the counter, I also prepared a basket with you and Percy's favorite food." The mother said, Percy went to grab the food his mother prepared for them. "And Annabeth, please take care of him, I know trouble will follow him around." The mother continued, she turned to them and gave her a smile. Before the two left, they both gave Estelle a king sized chocolate bar and whispered to her; "Don't tell Sally/Mom about this ok?" Estelle gave them a silent nod and both went off to the beach.

When both teens arrived, Percy immediately went into his trunks and dived into the beach. Annabeth let out a chuckle at her Boyfriend's antics and followed after. 

Both teens had fun for five whole hours. They both splashed themselves, of course it turned into a tournament but in the end Percy won rewarding himself a judo-flip when they got back to land. They also made sand castles, they made a bet that who ever made the best castle would receive the five hundred drachmas each of them put in a bag. Of course Annabeth won and Percy gave up. In the end, both teens had fun. But unfortunately both of them had to leave, not forgetting Chiron's concern about the monster activity near Camp. And so they finally headed back to Camp Half-blood. 

When they arrived, both teens gave the hippocampi, Rainbow, some apples before the creature left. Both heroes walked as they were heading to the Big house. Along the way, many new and younger campers stared at them in awe as if it was their first time seeing both heroes together after two months of being separated because of educational purposes, which is very true. When had arrived at the big blue house in camp, they were greeted by their old mentor Chiron in his wheel chair. Both hugged their teacher before conversation had started. 

"So Chiron, what is about the monster activity near here in Camp?" Ask Annabeth. The Centaur rubbed his temple and said, "In the eastern side of camp, border patrol felt a power surge there near the oak tree grove. They reported it to me and said there were a small camp monsters there. They told me they were going to attack first, but I told them to stand down since they were the new campers." Chiron paused then continued, "they were about to protest, so I had to confiscate their weapons until you two takes care of it. Second I had a headache last night, that's why I called you two." 

After listening, both teens had a cold feeling passing through their spines which mentally made them shivered. It seems like trouble will intervene later. Chiron then broke them off from their thoughts and said, "Ah yes right in time, Perseus, Annabeth meet Dylan Spruce, Legacy of Athena." Right then a boy with hazel colored hair and stormy gray eyes appeared at Chiron's side. His height was five foot four and a half, sometimes he gets mistaken as a fourteen years old teen, though he was only twelve. "H-hi, I'm Dylan, and as what a-as Chiron said, I-I'm a Legacy, and n-no I'm not fourt-teen." The kid introduced. Annabeth shook her head in impressed, while Percy was dumb-founded of how this kid was as tall as an average fourteen year old. "Since Dylan came right in time, he will now lead you to the sight. He was one of the new campers who're in border patrol last night." Chiron said. 

After that, the three were now heading towards the sight. 

When the three got there, fifteen hellhounds, two huge cyclops, and the minotaur suddenly appeared in the shadows of the huge oak tree. "Dylan go get Chiron, we'll handle this." Percy told the twelve year old. The kid nodded and ran back towards camp. 

Percy and Annabeth went into battle stances, Annabeth has her dagger in her hands while Percy got Riptide in his hands. Annabeth then charged at three hellhounds, Percy then followed behind and charged at the two cyclopes. It was a bloody mess during the fight: Annabeth got her right eye scratched by hellhound that pounced on her, it left a huge gash but luckily Annabeth killed it before it fully tackled her to the ground. Next thing, another hell hound had almost gotten her dead but Percy sliced the mutt (Sorry) into half bursting the creature into golden dusts; after, Annabeth quickly cleared the fifteen hellhounds and ran toward to help her dear Seaweed brain. 

With Percy, he was going easy at first: The two cyclopes and Percy were eyeing each other, circling too. That is when the cyclopes number one charged first with his club. He tried to hit Percy, but Percy dodged it causing to hit the Cyclopes to hit an oak tree passing the monster out of from consciousness and bursting into dust as the cyclopes' skull got cracked. The second cyclopes charged after he saw his brother burst into golden dust. The cyclopes got a hit of Percy in his left shoulder, making the shoulder to dislocate. Percy cried in pain but still kept on fighting. While finding an opening, Percy then slashed a monster for Annabeth then continued. 

Percy kept on slashing the cyclopes until it hit the ground causing Percy to behead the creature. Next thing Annabeth joined the Son of Poseidon going against the minotaur. 

"Going easy here Perce?" Annabeth taunted. Percy rolled his eyes in sarcasm and got his heads on to the bull-man. "Maybe yes, maybe not." He replied with sarcasm. Annabeth let out a small chuckle and followed Percy's act. "AAAAAARGGH!" The Minotaur roared. "I love you too!" Percy replied, Annabeth rolled her eyes at her Boyfriend's antics. 

Right then the Minotaur charged first. Percy charged next, dodging the slashes of the creature to hit it through the hip. The monster nearly slashed Percy's head almost beheading him, but luckily Percy dodged it, he then gripped riptide harder and rushed to the minotaur after dodging  his hit. Percy slashed the Minotaur's horn, the horn then fell to the ground; it took a few seconds to the Minotaur to realized that his horn fell off. Percy walked towards the horn and then he put it into his pocket, "epic! A second horn!" Exclaimed the son of Poseidon. Percy then went back to his stance, the Minotaur was gone in it's position, Percy looked dumbfounded. 

"Percy look behind!" Exclaimed Annabeth. Percy wasn't quick when he looked behind, instead, Annabeth jumped into the fight saving Percy from getting killed by the monster. 

The two then continue fighting the monster. It was very blurry, Annabeth was looking at the fight, trying to find an opening. The Minotaur and Percy were dancing very fast, dodging every slash they sent.  But suddenly, Minotaur stopped to get air. The monster was huffing from fighting, this made Annabeth took this as an opening. So, Annabeth charged the monster from it's back, despite from being exhausted of watching the fight, Annabeth readied her dagger and she then hit the monster from the back, but it wasn't enough, the monster felt the stab and hit Annabeth sending her flying towards a sharp broken tree bark. When Annabeth hit the edge of the bark, she then spill out blood from her mouth. Percy stood frozen in his spot. 

He just witnessed Annabeth sent flying into a sharp tree bark in front of him.  He was still processing what happened. Though he did snap: Percy charged towards the monster sending a very loud battle cry, Percy went very fast as he dodges the swings from the axe, the Minotaur was getting dizzy as Percy was giving him cuts at the same time the monster was trying to catch him. But in the end, Percy beheaded the monster. 

The demigod was sweating very fast,   he was trying to inhale air but he did not had time as his love on was sent flying on a sharp tree bark. 

POV - Percy's                                

I was breathing heavily after I have killed the monster, I was about to collapsed but I didn't had much time. 

I rushed towards Annabeth, the stake was sticking out of her body, blood was spilling everywhere. I kneeled in front of her and put my hands in her neck to see if she was breathing, luckily she was but not any longer..

"Percy, i-it's about time." She said, blood was spilling out of her mouth. "Fate really hates you do they?" Annabeth continued as she gave out her amazing smile. "Annabeth no, no, no, no, no. Please don't leave me." I said, tears were threatning to come out of my eyes, "Annabeth please." I sobbed, before she closed her eyes her last words were, "Percy something is coming, I have been prepared for this, move on for me will you?" She said, I took her hands and it felt cold. I hugged her cold hands as she finally closed her eyes. 

I then let out a loud scream and cried.
