Seokjin was feeling too bored with his day. Not exactly bored, but more so a mix of tired, exhausted and weary. His day had gone through some turns and twists. Today would most likely would get into the record of worst days of this month. Worst ever, hundred percent not recommended. And it wasn't even the start of the month, for god's sakes. He heaved a sigh as he sat down, trying to clear his throbbing head.
Starting off, he had burnt his hand while making scrambled eggs, freaking omelettes. He wore the wrong pair of socks and didn't carry the notes of the class to be taken today. He forgot his lunch money and he also had to return his library books. His classes were boring and quite prolonged. He longed for some ramen and anime, but alas he was stuck trying to learn how electric vehicles work.
His lecturers have him lots of assignments over the weekend and he really didn't want to do that. On his way back, he tripped on the sidewalk, this causing his books to scatter on the ground. It was quite embarassing for Seokjin, since he wasn't one to love such attention. Quickly, he grabbed all the bags and ran, cursing himself for being absent minded. With red ears he stumbled inside his flat, only to hit his foot onto the table leg.
"Fucking great!"
Seokjin cussed out loudly, glaring at the inanimate object with fierce eyes. Realising it isn't going to change anything, he flopped onto the couch.
Sighing out loudly, he felt better than ten minutes ago. Afterall, he was home. He didn't want to get up or move, wanted to sleep off his day. That would most likely help him cope with how shitty it was. But his stomach grumbled loudly, seeking attention of the already tired boy. Pulling his own body along, he went inside his bedroom to change out of his icky college clothes.
He boiled some water, and tore open a ramen packet. Finishing the process of cooking up his meal within 10 minutes, he sat on the counter waiting for the egg to cook. Labelling himself bored, brought a lot of options on the table. He didn't want to watch any movie or series, knowing very well if he started he would have to reach till the end. And sleep was still on cards, so he didn't want to jeopardize that.
"What should I do?"
Seokjin wondered loudly, only realising that when his voice echoed.
Taking out his chopsticks and bowl of ramen he carefully crashed onto his bed. He imagined how his mother would reprimand him, possibly even pull him by his ear, if she saw him eating on his bed. Oh how, he wished he could be with her right now. Slurping the soupy noodles felt like heaven to the black haired boy. He had recently permed his hair, courtesy to his boyfriend's wish.
And suddenly the notification from his game popped up. In the seom was not his go-to game, because he liked more of Mario kart and other thrilling race games. This game was initially put in his phone for his younger sister of 12. And now he was hooked on to, going as far as level 640 within a month. That was, of course, impressive. Especially given his strict college routine, lousy tests and happy boyfriend duties.
In another hour, he experienced all kinds of emotions ever possible. Most of them bring negative. Seokjin had thrown all his thoughts down the drain. First, the game made me utilize all his game coins, and he would never in a million years spend his real cash. Bring a college student who barely lived off the edge, he couldn't spare his sparse money. That was just unacceptable for him.
"Fuck you!"
Seokjin shouted, intently pushing his head into the pillow.
And he had lost his game due to his unsteady, fat and crooked fingers. He didn't hate his fingers, but God did he want to smash his phone against the wall. He lost his chances of getting booster ups, and the freaking roadblocks of the game were testing his patience. He was surely short of hearts, thus leading him to curse his heart out. Oh, the roller coaster didn't end there, his phone abruptly shut down, making him lose all his rewards.
With three hearts gone, he restarted the game with renewed will to win. But, all it held was sheer disappointment. Seeing his plight, the game has granted him easier ways to sneak and win. Alas, the doors closed off with his choices, making him grian out in frustration. So here he was with no hearts left and no energy to continue after the 30 minute recharge. And most of all, had lost one hour of his precious sleep time.
For the pouty boy, playing video games helped in reliving stress. Made him clear his mind off things. Made him happier and relaxed. But alas, today seemed like a bad as playing the game on his phone only proved to be worsening his day. He hummed a song that he heard last night, obviously trying to display his sadness. Laying on the bed, with his finished ramen bowl on the bedside table, he stared at his dimmed out phone.
"Why me?"
Seokjin spoke, obviously taking a hit due to the silly game.
With the covers right off his body, he closed his eyes gently, trying to relive the band headache he was experiencing. After what seemed like two seconds which in reality was thirty minutes, he found himself to be the muse for the intruder in his home. The trespasser was a boy with beautiful galaxy eyes and long soft black hair.
"Shit! When did you come?"
Seokjin shrieked loudly as the other person only came closer with cautious steps.
"Hyung, you gave me a key. Moreover, I came some time ago."
Jungkook spoke, totally unimpressed by Seokjin's shock.
"So you mean to say, you were staring at me like a creep all this time?"
Seokjin asked bewildered with the thought. To be noted, the fake baffling situation on the older boy's side was to cover up the fact, he had thousands of butterflies exploding within. His boyfriend was indeed the romantic he proclaimed.
"Not like a creep. Like your dear boyfriend."
Jungkook said, settling onto Seokjin's bed beside him.
This prompted the taller boy to rest his head onto Jungkook's shoulder as his own sagged with sleepiness. He sighed lowly, trying to snuggle into the warmer body of his boyfriend, who held him closer. No words were spoken, just their breaths mingling into echoes of silence. The comfy bed, fluffy pillows, full stomach, no classes, and most importantly his sweet boyfriend were all what would have made the perfect paradise for Seokjin. Keyword, would have because currently his headache was killing him. Maybe, just maybe he shouldn't have played that stupid game for so long.
"What's wrong?"
Jungkook asked as his arms tightened over Seokjin's slouched torso.
"Just headache. Don't worry."
Seokjin replied, smiling softly.
"C'mon. I know the best remedy."
Jungkook ushered, trying to persuade the other to lay down.
"No need love."
Seokjin spoke, knowing how this goes. Just like the countless times it has between them.
"Yeah, you do need a massage after a bad day."
Jungkook answered to no particular question, but was successful in making the older exist in this horizontal manner.
"How do you know?"
Seokjin questioned with curiosity peeking in. Of course, he didn't mention that today was a bad day.
"Oh I can tell. Your comfort ramen, your misplaced clothes, your out-of-place table and your phone."
Jungkook replied cheekily, bending forward to place a forehead kiss.
"I couldn't win that stupid ass game, effing piece of crap."
Seokjin spoke, pouting all the way, as he resumed his previous sleeping position.
"Oh baby hyung. Wait! What's this? And this?"
Jungkook asked, a little confused to see Seokjin's right arm a dark shade of red. And his ankle bruised up a light shade of pink.
"I burnt my hand and hit my leg to that table."
Seokjin answered with nonchalance evident in his voice.
Ice didn't help much to the morning burn he guessed, since the redness hadn't reduced after six hours. And that table, freaking table which was set on making his day bad. Jungkook just bent down to kiss the apparently hurt areas of Seokjin's soft pale skin. Seokjin acted as if it didn't affect him, whereas internally he was all jittery and screaming in happiness. The older boy didn't usually give out how he felt, he still felt shy unlike Jungkook who was free in his expression of the abundant love he held.
Jungkook smiled with his bunny teeth on display. Soon he climbed upon Seokjin's torso to fully place his sitting body there. As wild and outrageous as it sounds, this was the most innocent placement they had. It was never sexual or uncomfortable to have Jungkook stay like this on him. There was some grounding ease in here that could never be replicated. Jungkook was literally sitting on his stomach, but all Seokjin could think of was how lucky he was to have this adorable boy as his own. He didn't have to share Jungkook to the entire world, for he knew he would always come back to Seokjin.
Jungkook took out the cute spare animal pins he had in his pocket to push away the hair on the laying boy's forehead and neatly clip it back. Opening the bedside drawer, he got out the pain relieving balm and applied it graciously onto Seokjin's open forehead. Slowly, using his fingers he massaged the other's head. This only made Seokjin sigh out in relief and comfort. He could swear that all of today's bad moments had vanished into thin air. Jungkook was too focussed on his job, that he hardly noticed Seokjin's love-filled eyes that grazed upon his face.
"Jungkookie, your hands are magic."
Seokjin exclaimed as he could feel all the pressures and stress of the day fleet his body. The doe-eyed boy, on the other hand, simply laughed out loudly.
"Play a game with me!"
Seokjin ushered Jungkook, who stilled for a second to catch his boyfriend's sneaky mischievous eyes.
"Kay hyung."
Jungkook gave in, even though he knew Seokjin was cooking up something.
"Who is the prettiest person in this whole wide world?"
Seokjin asked, making Jungkook shake his head in abundant fascination. Of course, the taller boy would ask this.
"You hyung."
Jungkook answered, without missing a beat. Seokjin flushed pink, even though he knew how Jungkook always praised him and called him handsome.
"Stop bluffing now."
Seokjin covered up with an scowl.
"I'm telling the truth."
Jungkook told as he leaned his body down to hug Seokjin.
"Okay then, who is the second prettiest person?"
Seokjin asked again, holding Jungkook closer to his chest.
"You really want to know?"
Jungkook asked, as he peeked from his half-cuddling position.
Seokjin only nodded with a good boy smile. Jungkook slowly glanced down to reach for Seokjin's long fingers. The same ones for which the older boy had cursed when he lost the game. Slowly lacing them together in his own, Jungkook brought them towards his lips to kiss them with sweetness oozing out. And Seokjin could only be grateful that these fingers were his.
"Your reflection, hyung"
Jungkook answered staring deep into Seokjin's hazel eyes. He said it with such seriousness that the older boy could only gulp down the tears. The tears that were formed due to a mixture of emotions. When did he get so lucky?
"Stop being so damn cheesy."
Seokjin spoke, chuckling through a voice akin to wet tears.
"No, not cheesy. Just a simp for you."
Jungkook answered, leaning fully forward to kiss Seokjin's plump lips. Easing his legs out, now Jungkook laid fully on top of Seokjin. The taller boy only tightened the hold on Jungkook's tiny waist, as their teeth clashed. Outpouring love and admiration for each other had caused this. Neither of them could deny that this felt like home. For it was always heaven to be in each other's arms, sneaking kisses under the warmth. They parted ways soon, only for Seokjin to exert his neck to lean upwards to peck Jungkook's adorable cute nose.
"Aww, your ears are getting all red and shy."
Jungkook spoke, as he smushed the older boy's cheeks to form a ducky face.
"Stop it, brat!"
Seokjin spoke in a fake annoyed tone, though he was clearly enjoying it.
As they settled down in the same excruciating position, Jungkook pulled over the covers and the last thing he heard was,
"Thank you Jungkook. Thank you so much. My beaconing hope, I love you until time ends."
Seokjin pressed a long kiss on Jungkook's forehead before he too lost himself in the long due of sleep. Tomorrow he would look into the assignments. Tomorrow he would clean his room and take out the trash. Tomorrow he would cook up a meal for the two of them. But for today, he will love bring with his beloved, his Jungkook. Fuck that game on his phone, all that mattered was Jungkook thought he was the prettiest person alive.
