"It's slightly disappointing that I'll miss a company now." You said slightly chuckling. Kaveh was ready to leave towards the desert for his work as he checked through his baggage.

It was really early in the morning and the sun rays were slowly coming out. Knowing Kaveh was leaving today, you had to tell him your thanks for taking care of you and Alhaitham yesterday when the two of you passed out.

"Really? I thought you were quite willing to rub my face off the ground." Kaveh said sarcastically as he shrugged.

"I mean. I don't care if you and Alhaitham bicker but mess with me and it will not age well, Sir Kaveh of Kshahrewar."

"Alright, I'll remember that madam Y/n of Vahumana." Kaveh said with a smile.

"Well then, try not to drag yourself along with Alhaitham into trouble alright? That guy sure loves walking into troubles thinking he could solve anything but that is really reckless of him to do so. You are no different either. After all you used a vision without having any proper control over it." Kaveh said as he sighed.

Yep, you weren't wrong about them behaving like married couple.

"Alright. I'll try to." You said back with the most convincing smile.

"A very convincing reply. I'm afraid this is where we'll part. I'll see you at Sumeru city and then hopefully have a conversation, trash talking about Alhaitham. which absolutely sounds fun." Kaveh suggested.

You couldn't help but laugh at the thought. "Sure, I'll be eagerly waiting for it. We can have Faruzan over too!"

Kaveh had a confused expression on his face. "Oh I forgot to tell, Faruzan and I are friends. Well whenever I and Alhaitham got into arguments at the meetings, she would come complimenting me for fighting back."

"Interesting....so I was the only one who never knew you personally till now." Kaveh pouted and thought.

After the small idle chit-chat, Kaveh finally left the small town. The golden-red rays of the sun began rising from the east as you stood at the gate, watching him walk away.

You now stood there are you realize the times of leisure should come to and end and you should get serious about work.

As you walk back to the lodge where you were staying multiple questions ran through your head like the next course of move and what supplies you'll have to re-stock before leaving out.

.

.

You open the door and found that Alhaitham was already awake. What surprised you was that he was completely awake and seated over the edge of the bed. His injury was surely still painful as it was three days ago that he was injured and no way a deep wound would have healed so soon.

He wore a loose shirt which was mostly unbuttoned so that the wound dressings could be inspected and prevent pain due to the fabric. You saw him slightly rip the dressing off and inspecting his own wound.

"Alhaitham? Are you okay, do you need any medicines?" You asked him as quickly walked over to him.

He showed you the undressed wound. You looked at it in astonishment.

"Somehow, you managed to heal the wound yesterday. You aren't really bad with a vision despite having it for a few days only." he said as he got up and went up to the counter to drink water.

There was a silence in the room.

You only looked at him, hoping he would tell something but he just continued with his day on. He noticed you shooting a glare at him.

"Is there something that you need?" He asked as he didn't maintain an eye contact with you.

"Don't you have anything to tell me, Alhaitham?" You asked out of concern. You hoped he would give you a small explanation at least. But no, he stood there as he gave you a stare.

After a moment he replied, "No I don't think so." He said and continued to read the book he had take from his luggage.

You slammed your fist against the wall, getting the attention back from the scribe who sat back to read the book. His eyes moved towards you and he instantly flinched upon seeing your eyes turning watery.

"D-Do you have...the s-slightest i-i-....idea about what happened? ANSWER ME ALHAITHAM." you shout at him.

He stared at you blankly. No words came out of his throat as he truly couldn't recollect the incident. Yet, seeing your tears roll off your face, he didn't know what to do in the situation. He in fact, didn't know the full reason.

You kept looking at him. Even after everything you did, he still remained the same. He showed the same rational attitude he had been showing since the very first. You felt like he never truly acknowledged you as a scholar of the same level as him.

He still didn't trust you as his mission partner. He just wanted to do all the work on his own, in his own space without anyone else.

Which is why he still seemed reluctant to tell you what happened. This was what you thought.

It hurt very much. Such thoughts lingered in your mind although quite the opposite could be said for Alhaitham. He did not know how emotions and expressions were used in daily life.

"Y/n, I don't remember anything." He said back looking at you.

"You're a liar! Alhaitham, for past three DAYS! PAST THREE DAYS! I have been going insane about this random attack you encountered! You nearly died and I'm here trying to help you but...ha here you are still with your pride high, refusing to accept help." You shout at the man.

You walked past the man, grabbing your coat and vision and walked out of the room as you didn't want to see his face. If he knew how to behave like a prideful scholar, you too knew well how to respond back.

If Alhaitham wanted to solve this mission on his own, then so be it. You'll do it yourself.

As you walk through the streets, you wipe your puffy eyes in frustration.

No matter how you much you tried, people always had another perspective of you. If you weren't a scholar, you wouldn't have had any worth in life. Even after becoming a scholar, you had no worth.

Both the titles were placed on a weigh balance. One may praise you for who you are while the other may continue to despise you for who you are. In simple, the world of knowledge would never accept you of the same status as a scholar.

"Sister Y/n? Why are you crying?" You raised your head and saw Izuru stand before you with a small basket of fruits in his hand. He dropped the fruits and came running towards you, throwing his hands around your waist as he hugged you tightly.

You were caught off by his sudden kind gesture. You stood motionless as the little boy tried comforting you with a hug. Your eyes moved towards the boy's hair as you gently patted his head.

"Sister Y/n, why are you crying? Did someone hurt you?" He asked as he looked at you.

You bitterly smiled. "No it's nothing, I just felt a little sad." you replied back in a low voice.

He smiled back at you and said, "Don't worry! Everything will go fine! You shouldn't bottle up any feelings big sis Y/n! or you'll be sad forever."

You couldn't believe that a child was now comforting you. Although you didn't complain because Izuru gave you the comfort that you have been lacking for a while now.

You thought you were strong willed to go ahead with life, but no. You still were feeble at heart and your emotions..
