RIDDHIMA'S POV;

"Everyone rise" the bailiff announced. After the judge entered and took his place he ordered us to sit down. "Case number 243, Vansh Raisinghania has been arrested as suspect in killing Anand Tiwari", "Prosecution may start with the opening statements." judge asked Mr.Nanda, he stood up and gave me a look. "thank you, your honor, vengeance and revenge. that's what this case is about. Mr. Vansh killed his once best friend and his business rival on 25th night in captain cook's restaurant, am i correct till now? Ms. Riddhima??" he asked looking at me. I didn't answer him back. 

"Ms. Riddhima, you may proceed?" judge asked me. "sure sir, This is definitely not a revenge crime sir, in fact my client has been framed in this murder purposely to defame him" i give the answer. After i complete and sit Mr. Nanda get up from his place and seek permission  "Sir i would like to cross examine Mr. Vansh, before i further move on" the judge permitted, vansh was now in the stand. "Mr. Vansh on 25th night did you go to meet anand?" "Yeah, because he called me to meet him" vansh answered with confidence. "A guy who you have been  dodging since 2 years, suddenly calls you and you went without any hesitation? Sounds weird to me".

"Well it was personal, i was close with his wife despite our differences, she was like a sister to me, anand called me saying that it was about his wife, so without any second thought i went to meet him, but after going there i understood that his wife had been  dead for a while" he answered with certainty because the story till this part was true. 

"Thanks, sir i would like to call Ashish Anand's closest kin and friend into the witness stand." The judge nodded in agreement and Ashish was now walking up to the stand. "Ashish, you are very close with Anand then why didn't you go to this so called meeting?" Mr. Nanda asked. "I asked Anand if i should join him, he said that "vansh might be angry on me , it's 2 years of anger, there will be a volcano boiling inside him, i want to sort this out our way, without any fight or guns i just need him to listen to me" these were his exact words sir" Ashish concluded. Taking this as his benefit, Mr. Nanda stated "Note this point your honor, Anand was scared that vansh might be soo angry that there might have been a fight"

"I object your honor, just based on words like "might" is your assumption Mr. Nanda, if we are working like that they i can also state that "you might kill me", "You might win this case" we are really depending upon a probability your honor, everyone is allowed to have their doubts and fear, that doesn't mean you can base that, Mr. Nanda"  I said.

"objection sustained, Mr. Nanda please provide the court with evidences, until then please don't waste the court's valuable time." Judge said in my favor.  

Mr. Nanda sat down in defeat, i get up. "Sir i would like to call upon Mr. Vansh....thank you" "So Mr. Vansh, what happened after you reached the restaurant?" i asked vansh. "We talked about his wife, where he told she died a few months ago and when he suddenly shifted the topic towards my business, i was not interested and requested to leave, soon later  I had a emergency board meeting about a few shares, so i had to leave" "sir unlike Mr. Nanda we have cctv footage of that night, where Mr. Vansh was in his meeting" i concluded and gave vansh a look to go and sit in his place.

"Then why don't you also explain, why were there Mr. Vansh's finger prints on the murder weapon? Why did he go back into the restaurant soo shocked?? According to the cctv? I will tell why, vansh thought after his "sister's death" he found no point in keeping him alive, so he killed anand and later went back to his office as nothing happened" Mr.Nanda said getting on vansh's nerves. 

"Absolutely bullshit!! That bastard deserved to die i agree, but i would rather be clean than having that asshole's blood on my hands!!" Vansh said spitting venom about anand "Mr. Vansh Language!! Please maintain the dignity of court!!" judge said soon later banging his gavel.

"I proved my point your honor! He had a motive, resource and time! to kill anand!" Mr. Nanda said. Can i kill this guy already?? Yeah sure but not in public! my conscious answered me.

"Sir, i can answer about finger prints, that night my client Mr. Vansh had indeed carried a gun. A licensed gun. Please check the license papers on your desk sir, i know prosecution would bring this point up. I would like to call SP Aditya Verma" 

"So Mr. Aditya, on 25th night the murder took place, according to your reports, at what time did Mr. Anand died?" "he died at around 11:30 pm" Adi answered, this was actually huge plus for me because what i am about to tell what was sheer coincidence but a good one. "Can you read out this statement written from your police station?" i asked adi and handed him over the paper. "This statement is from Malabar hill police station, as an acknowledgement that Mr. Vansh has lost his licensed gun at 9:30 pm" Adi answered.

"It was written by whom?" i questioned him. "Myself, your honor, that night our writer was busy and other were also busy, Mr. Vansh dropped by to take this statement" "Thanks, Mr. Aditya, you can leave", "When my client didn't even have the gun how can he kill Mr. Anand?? This can also happen that the person who robbed the gun from Vansh, killed Mr. Anand to frame him right?" i said and took back my place.

"Mr. Nanda? Do you have anything  to say? Or any proofs to produce?" judge asked Mr. Nanda. "No, my lord" Mr.Nanda said, i expected him to have a defeated look but he didn't. He had a proud smile on his face.

"Since there are no sufficient proofs against Mr. Vansh and considering all the alibis, Mr. Vansh has been proven innocent and all charges against him must be dropped immediately." Judge passed the judgement and the court was dismissed.

"Thanks alot Riddhima, this has been soo helpful!" rey said to me and vansh left with him, now it was only me and Mr. Nanda in the court room.

"You were great!" Mr. Nanda said with victory smile. "Afterall whose student am i?" I ask him playfully and hug him. "See all you needed was a perfect case to come back, but i hated that it was against me!" he said hugging me back. You heard us right, he has been my mentor since my college days, but we become professional in such matters though. "i had no winning chance did i?" Uncle asked. "I don't think so" i said as we walked out.

VANSH'S POV;

Finally the case was over, Rey thanked Riddhima and we headed outside towards our car, I take the driving seat and Rey takes the passenger seat. "Bhai! That was a awesome win!! I mean amazing!! You made riddhima believe that you didn't do the murder, where as that was actually not true, i am proud of you bhai,i have heard "ek teer se do nishan" But! Here its multiple victories!! But that riddhima was a tough nut to crack bhai, for her to take up the case, we first needed to prove that you were innocent in front of her" Rey exclaimed.

"That is true, anyway i am dropping you off home i have some work." I said. Rey got down and i soon drove to a cemetery in city outskirts, by the time i reach there it was almost evening. I got down and took out the flowers in the back seat which i bought on my way.

I walked up to a grave. "I am sorry maya shouldn't have used your name but guess what that bastard died and i didn't even get punished! All thanks to that girl riddhima, she is good i will accept, how could that anand think that he will kill you and i will not even have a clue about it until he tells it to me? I kept check on you every day, every single fucking day! I wish i knew that he was torturing, i would have come right away to save you! Remember when you were being buried i came and saw all of this from afar?"

"That day i promised you that i will kill that son of a bitch, i fulfilled my promise,sorry that i couldn't protect you dear, you used to tie rakhi to me every year, and i fucking couldn't protect you! I AM SORRY!!" a small tear rolled down my cheek, i wiped it off soon enough and let out a sigh relieving a weight that i have been carrying since 1 year. I place the flowers and take off.
