~Lucky~
"Did anybody get that one dude's number?" Calum slapped my arm lightly.
Ashton, Calum, Luke, Michael, and I were all sprawled on different couches and chairs at Luke's house.
"Donovan?" I asked.
"I did," Michael rose his hand.
Ashton snorted. "Why'd you raise your hand? It's not like we're in class."
My brother glared at Ash. "Shut up, Dork."
"Hey, be nice!" I put my arm around Ashton protectively.
He ruffled my hair. "Don't worry, I can handle it."
"Anyways," Calum cleared his throat. "How'd you get his info?"
Michael shrugged. "We were sitting around and I asked for his number in case something happened."
"Aww, little Mikey was nervous," Luke teased.
"Shut up, Luke."
"He was cool," Calum thought aloud. "He'd be fun to hand out with more, as a group."
We all nodded in agreement.
Michael pulled out his phone. "Here, I'll call him." He fiddled with the device for a minute before the familiar ringing filled the room. After a few seconds of the buzzing noise, Donovan answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Michael."
"Michael?"
"Michael," my brother nodded, as if his reply would help anything.
The line was silent for a moment. "Michael from the party?"
"Yes," Michael snapped his fingers. "I'm with the whole group, and we were wondering if you wanted to like, hang out or something."
I bit my nails nervously and cuddled into Calum's side, his arm protectively around my shoulders. He kissed my temple lightly.
God, I loved this kid.
"I mean, I'm free. Just send me an address!"
Calum looked down at me and smiled triumphantly. He had made us a new friend. Well technically, Michael had. But Calum had come up with the idea.
"Sure," Michael grinned.
They hung up and Michael texted him the address to Luke's house.
"I better tell my mum," Luke piped up.
We all nodded. Liz probably wouldn't be fond of a random person in her house unannounced.
"Mum!" he hollered.
"What?" she yelled back, sounding irritated. She came out of the hallway. "This better be good, I'm doing your father's laundry," she rolled her eyes. "Can you believe how many socks that man has?"
Luke huffed. "Anyways, we have a friend coming over. We met him at the party."
Liz furrowed her eyebrows in concentration. "From what I remember, that wasn't a very good party..."
Luke shook his head. "He was the guy that helped us the whole time, remember? Donovan."
Liz nodded slowly. "I guess, as long as he's nice."
"He's nice," Ashton assured.
She shrugged and disappeared back into the depths of the hallway.
~~~
There was a loud knock at the front door.
"Open up, the party's here!" the voice, Donovan, cheered from behind the door.
Michael stood up and let Donovan in. Except there wasn't only him, but another person. It was a girl. Her luxurious brown waved reached her butt, and she had a pair of black shorts over fishnets. I'd always liked this type of style, but I knew I could never pull it off.
I looked over at Luke, who practically had heart eyes. Someone was crushing.
"Hey!" Donovan waved at all of us as the group came to the living room. "This is Kat. You may have seen her at the party, but the lighting was weird so maybe not.
"Hi," Kat waved slightly.
Ashton, being the gentleman that he is, stood up to shake their hands. Afterwards, Kat came and sat down next to me. Ashton had been sitting there, but now he was conversing with Donovan and Calum, who had also gotten up.
"Hi," she smiled warmly.
"Hi," I waved lightly.
"So," she laughed lightly at the awkwardness. "What's your name?"
"My name's Lucky," I told her.
She nodded. "That's cute. I've always loved unique names like that."
I grinned. "Thanks, me too."
"So who is everybody? I'm a little lost," she giggled nervously.
I pointed to my brother. "That's Michael, my twin." She nodded. "That's Luke, the blonde one. That's Ashton, he's been my best friend since we were little. And over there is Calum, my boyfriend," I smiled.
Kat grinned. "How long have you guys been together?"
"Almost a week," I chuckled. "Not very long. I'm just getting out of a toxic relationship."
She frowned. "I'm sorry. Calum looks super nice though, he'll take care of you."
I nodded. "That's what he promised he'd do."
As if on cue, Calum turned around, grinning widely at me. He held his arms out as he walked towards Kat and I. He sat down next to me and I melted into his arms again. I didn't think I would ever get sick of his embrace.
"Hug?" he looked over at Kat.
"Are you sure?" she looked over at me.
I smiled and nodded. "He's a hugger."
Calum laughed as they hugged quickly and sat back. Surprisingly, I wasn't jealous at all. Their hug was different, affectionate in another way. It wasn't lovey dovey or anything, it was friendly. You could tell by watching it.
So far, I was happy with the group of people we had added to our group. Donovan was already known to be nice, and Kat was genuine. I liked them.
We held conversations for the rest of the day, and watched a movie before everyone went home. Unfortunately, we had school the next day. Everyone had groaned when Calum reminded us. Even more unfortunate, I actually had to go. I wasn't suspended anymore, and I hadn't for the past two weeks.
That hell hole was the last place I wanted to be. I just wanted to be in Calum's arms.
