NOAH

"So Maia said yes?", Noah asked for clarification as soon as his manager Phillip Graves had told him the news over the phone. 

That meant they would actually do this? Fake a relationship.
Would it have been any other person Noah might have had less problems with the whole situation, but it was Maia Noemia van Amersfoort they were talking about here.

The one person he had hoped to never see again. Not because he hated her or because she had hurt him, no, because he knew his feelings hadn't really left in the time between then and now.
But fate, destiny or whoever apparently had different plans for Noah and threw him head first into this tricky situation.

"Yes, Ms. Van Amersfoort agreed to the arrangement.", Noah cringed at Graves's attempt of saying Maia's name correctly but butchered it in the process. In the same second he remembered how Maia had reacted the same in the first meeting they had. Noah himself knew how many attempts he had needed to correctly say her surname but Maia had been patient with him and had giggled at all his tries. A memory that often appeared. 

But differently than him Mr. Graves didn't seem to care or accept that his pronunciation was heavily americanized. 

"We are planning another meeting soon to go over the contract, arrangements and plans we have, "tasks" for you, let's call it that. But you will get that information soon enough. One thing you could begin doing now though is maybe start liking some of Maia's posts. Not every single one, just a few.", Graves told him. Noah knew that by him suddenly starting to like her posts, fans would start wondering how they knew each other since they had never before in any way followed each other.

It was known that they were part of the same management but not that they knew each other. So them interacting now would certainly lead to some interesting conversations, assumptions and maybe even some articles already.

Noah knew what he had agreed to and he knew that Maia did too but he still had to confess to himself that he was scared about the whole thing. Maia was no stranger, everything but a stranger, and suddenly having her back in his life through such a strange composition of events meant that Noah hadn't yet fully thought about how he should deal with that fact.

It's just business, he told himself. They both did this for the attention, as much as they liked that fact or not.
Noah had always tried to be transparent, he had to be with his background, the name he was given and the opportunities that had come with being the only son of Noah and Charlotte Miller.

And despite the long time since the last time Maia and him had properly talked or spent time together, he still knew her well. Which she knew. And she knew him. So Noah was aware that Maia hadn't decided easily, she probably had considered every possibility, every outcome. All the perks that would come with this deal.
She had always been loyal, to her friends, to their relationship and he could imagine, now to her fans too. So basically lying to them probably hurt.

MAIA

Maia was excited. 

She had been a fan of Formula 1 since a little kid, her father had watched it since he was young and so Maia's brother Pim and herself had joined him on the weekends watching the races.
With Max Emilian Verstappen entering Formula 1, the Van Amersfoort family had found someone they could feel represented by, because he, like them, was dutch.

But in 2019 another entered who Maia instantly supported. A young female monegasque driver by the name of Gaia Maxie Leclerc, sister of none other than Charles and Arthur Leclerc.

Over the years Maia would continue to support her and coincidentally Gaia had listened to Maia's music since her early covers. That led to the two girls starting to interact with each other. Over the years a friendship blossomed and in late 2022 Gaia managed to visit Maia for the first time in Brighton.

Gaia introduced Maia to Leo Hector Frost, a fellow racing driver and the three bonded over their shared love for the sport. But with all of them having a strict and filled calendar, Maia maybe a little bit less than the two athletes, it wasn't easy for them to meet up more.

So when Leo texted their group chat that he had managed for him and Gaia to organise a week in Brighton, to spend some time with Maia and the others, the Dutch girl was obviously excited.
She had missed both of them a lot, calling was good and they did that a lot but seeing them in person was better.
And spending time with friends she hadn't seen for a while meant a good distraction from all the chaos that had suddenly filled her life.

While waiting for Gaia and Leo at the airport, Maia thought about whether she should tell them about her current situation or not. But when she saw Gaia and Leo walking through the gates, she forgot all her worries for a moment and ran in their direction, embracing them in a warm and welcoming hug.
