So I started reading the Lord of the Rings series/book/series-in-a-book like a week or so ago and I just want some confirmation (and no spoilers). Is it a series? Or a trilogy? Cuz there are three parts apparently in my book but in the table of contents the first part contains books 1-2, the second part contains books 3-4, and the last part contains books 5-6 (and then there are the appendices, the index, etc.) bUT is it really 6 books in one, or...? If you don't know then that's fine too, but I'm confused and only read the first page of about the text or something along those lines soo yeah.
