when i first started dating luke, my first reaction was confusion.

why would a gorgeous human being like him want to be with a rat looking thing like me?

"you know," he told me. "looks are affected by personality."

i raised one eyebrow. "what do you mean?"

"you could think the most unattractive person is beautiful in your eyes because you love their personality," he explained. "your opinion on someone's physical features can change just by getting to know them."

i nodded. "would that work the other way around? if someone was physically beautiful but had an ugly heart?"

"you got it, sweetheart," he grinned. "i've known many people like that."

i shrugged. "me too."

i learn a lot from luke. more life lessons were taught by him than anybody else in my life. i was grateful for that. somebody had to teach me.
