The problem with being a pregnant teenager was the fact that I was still a teenager. Everything was new to me. The cravings, the small mood swings, I didn't know how to deal with all of it. And living in a castle with a bunch of vampires who only drank blood, didn't exactly help me any. I was currently sitting in my room, munching on a bag of potato chips, when Jane and Felix pushed the bedroom door open.

"So we've solved your food problem." Jane looked annoyed at Felix as he spoke before she could. In the few days that I've been here, they've all warmed up to me and have grown used to seeing me around the castle. Caius seemed to be the only one still bothered by my presence.

"Come with us." Jane held out her hand and I put my feet on the ground and stood up.

"Why do you always wear dresses?" Felix asked as he watched me pat down the blue garment.

"My jeans don't fit me anymore." I patted my baby bump and he nodded as if he understood. The three of us exited my room, strolling down the long hallways. Jane and Felix walked silently, their heads held high and faces blank, while I ate my potato chips, the crunch echoing around us. Jane sent me an annoyed glare and I smiled sheepishly at her. "Sorry."

"Here we are." We stopped in front of a large wooden door, the same kind as every other door in the place. Jane pushed it open and I glanced at her confused. "The kitchen."

"You guys have a kitchen in your castle? But you don't eat?"

"Aro had it installed for you." She explained. "You're the only one in the castle who has to eat actual food so this room is yours."

"Aro had it stocked with all sorts of food. Snacks, meats, beverages, everything you might need." Felix added in.

"And if you crave anything specific and it's not supplied here, he'll send someone out for it," Jane concluded.

"I want a sandwich," I spoke aloud before going over to the refrigerator and opening it up. "Oh gosh." I gasped. "There's so much."

"Let me help you." Jane came over to me.

"You know how to make a sandwich?" Felix laughed. "Since when?"

"Since now. Now go away." Felix left us alone, still bellowing with laughter.

"Jane, you don't have to." I tried to tell her but she wasn't having it. I shrugged and sat on the counter, watching her as she got the stuff out of the giant fridge.

"Aro says for us to make everything as easy for you as possible, so I'm only following orders." She responded in her deep but soft voice.

"Oh okay." I didn't know what else to say. "So tell me something about yourself."

"My name is Jane." I rolled my eyes.

"Something I don't know."

"I was turned when I was 15."

"Oh shit?" I gasped. She nodded and I respected her so much more. "Alec too?"

"Same time. Only a few seconds apart, just like our birth."

"Who's older?"

"I am." She smirked. "Anything you feel the need to know?"

"What was your life like before you turned?" She slid me my finished sandwich and I took a bite as she cleaned up her mess.

"Not as eventful." I chuckled and she gave me a small smirk. "Alec and I were just as close as we are now. And people feared us then, just like they do now."

"Why were they scared of you?"

"Because we were different." She turned to me. "Our parents were killed when we were young and we were taken care of by our Grandmother but she wasn't liked by the people of our village. They accused her of being a witch, thus having them hating us also."

"Was she a witch?"

"Not a very good one." Jane shook her head. "She never practiced in front of us, so we never really knew the truth and we never did find out."

"What happened to her?"

"They burned her at the stake. A classic witch burning." She spoke as if it didn't matter. "Alec and I were to meet the same fate but Aro stopped it."

"How did he know?"

"I still don't know. But he saved my brother and me. He brought us back here, turned us, and here we are."

"Ans you've been in his care ever since? Never once left?"

"We've traveled but we always returned." She replied. I nodded and finished my sandwich. "Any other questions?"

"Have you ever been in love?" She was taken aback by my question but she eventually nodded.

"Once." She smiled softly at the memory. "He was to me what you are To your vampire."

"A blood singer?"

"Yes. Though we call them La Tua Cantante." She replied. "He was my age or sixteen in human years. I met him in Germany. It was the 1940s. It was a war year." She sat down beside me, pulling herself onto the counter. "He was a Jewish boy. I ran into him one night when he was hiding from Nazi soldiers. I was drawn to him instantly. And I spent six months hiding him, protecting him."

"What happened?"

"He was found. I went to feed and the soldiers found him. They took him and he was sent to a concentration camp. I tried to get him back. I searched every camp but he was gone."

"What do you mean gone?" I frowned.

"I found his name on an execution list. He had died." She let out a breath she didn't need. "I was angry, I wanted his killers to feel his pain so I killed every Nazi soldier I came across. But when the pain didn't fade, I vowed to never love again. Not if losing them would hurt as much as it did."

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine. It was a long time ago." She dismissed my empathy. "I've had time to move on and I have."

"What was his name?"

"Why?"

"Just trying to put a face to the name." I shrugged.

"Well, don't bother. He's not a name or faces worth remembering." I nodded and tried not to give away just how awkward I was feeling.

"Thank you for talking with me." Jane thanked me. She got down from the counter and I smiled brightly at her.

"Anytime," I promised. She left the kitchen and I exhaled loudly. "Holy shit."

"What?" I yelped and turned my head. "Demetri, don't do that."

"Do what? I only came in here to tell you that Aro needs you in the library." I nodded and hopped off of the counter.

"Well lead the way." He nodded and guided me out of the kitchen. We walked down the long hallway before he pushed the library's doors open. I walked inside and saw Aro sitting at a table.

"Ah Clary, come sit." He beckoned me forwards and I sat in the chair across from him. "I have some new information for you about your child."

"What is it?" I perked up.

"It's good news, I promise." He assured me. "You're having a boy correct?" I nodded. "Well, we may be able to tell if your child will be a vampire or not. But your child needs to grow a bit more."

"How much more?"

"Well, I've scheduled an appointment for you, a doctor will be coming here to check on the growth of your son for us and then we'll have our answer."

"Okay." He slid the book over to me. "It's in Latin."

"Indeed." He nodded curtly. "Killian has agreed to translate it for you. Tomorrow you'll be meeting with him and he'll help you." He stood up, his robes billowing around him. He moved away from the table but stopped when I called out to him.

"Thank you."

"Pleasure's all mine dear." He left without another word.

"I'm sure it is." I sighed. "Well, time to learn Latin."
