It was dark and the moon was high in the sky when the excitement in the house had calmed down. Jacob was napping on the sofa, Edward and Bella coddled Nesmee by the large windows, and I sat with Eli on the floor as he played with his toy trucks, listening to the little sound effects he made when they crashed into each other.

"Finally." I heard Edward mutter and I assumed the others were nearby. It was time for him to show Bella their house.

"My turn." Clary heard Rosalie's heels clack against the floor as she happily stole Nesmee from Bella.

"Mama look!" I smiled widely at Eli as he showed two of his trucks jamming into each other and I laughed and ruffled his hair affectionately. I turned my head as I heard the back doors open and watched Alice walk in, bouncing happily.

"Happy birthday!" She beamed. Emmett came our way and sat in the armchair beside Eli, watching our little boy making race car noises.

"I stopped aging three days ago." Same old Bella. Still refusing to be old.

"Well we're celebrating anyway, so suck it up." Alice grinned. "Come with me." She grabbed Bella's hand and we all watched silently as they left.

"Don't even think about mentioning it." I turned and pointed my finger at Emmett. He only grinned innocently and raised his hands in the air.

"I wasn't. I swear." He chuckled. "Besides, I've already picked the perfect place."

"As long as it's not in someone's backyard, I'm all for it," I smirked. He winked and I chuckled. "And I want a big bed. You may not sleep but we still do." I gestures between Eli and me and he nodded.

"Noted." He smirked. He moved to sit down behind Eli and grabbed one of the abandoned toy trucks.

"Will I have to sleep with earplugs tonight?" I joked but I was being serious.

"They're far enough away that I think you should be fine. The rest of us, however.." Dom trailed off with a grimace. "On second thought, we should all use some earplugs tonight. Maybe for the next month."

"Oh please! You and Rose are probably worse than they'll be!" Emmett laughed loudly.

"We probably are but don't act like you're so innocent right now buddy." Dom taunted back.

"You've never heard us," Emmett informed him.

"And you never will. Not as long as we live in the same house." I piped in.

"Babe, come on." Emmett laughed. "It's bound to happen."

"No way." I shook my head. "Plus we're not having sex for a while anyway. Carlisle hasn't cleared me and your son's head tore me apart. You better get reacquainted with your right hand because that's all the action you'll be getting until Carlisle gives the say-so." I narrowed my eyes at him and he mumbled angrily but didn't argue back. "And we're using condoms."

"We'll get you a lifetime supply." Dom laughed. "Em, what size are you? Extra, extra small?"

"Okay, that's it!" Emmett charged at Dom but Carlisle intervened with a laugh.

"Not in the house. Take it outside." He scolded them. The two raced outside, Jasper and Jacob following them. The two are no doubt making a bet.

"And you agreed to marry that idiot?" Rose joked.

"You married yours," I smirked and she scoffed, a smile gracing her pristine face. "Esme, do you mind watching Eli for a moment? I want to speak to Carlisle about something." She nodded and I stood to my feet, following Carlisle into his office.

"I can't guarantee they won't listen." He warned me as he closed the door behind him.

"That's okay, I'll be vague." He nodded and I bit my lip nervously, unsure how to approach the subject. "If I said I wanted to," I patted my stomach. "Again, what are my odds?"

"Clary I don't think it's a good idea." I knew it wasn't but I wanted to know if it was an option.

"I want more." I sighed. "It's always been my dream to have more. Even if it's just one more."

"Clary." His voice softened as he whispered. "I don't think you should. Your body may not make it through a second time."

"I know. It was just a thought I had." My heart couldn't help but hope for the best even if I knew better. Emmett and I hadn't discussed having another baby but as I watched Eli play and run around, I wanted to have another baby, just one more.

"There's plenty of other options out there." He assured me. "Appreciate that you survived this one."

"I will. Thank you."

"Anytime." He patted my shoulder affectionately and we left his office together.

"Mama!" I was now becoming used to Eli launching himself at me and my arms wrapped around him instinctively as he cuddled me.

"You ready for bed?" He nodded and I walked to the back door. I spotted Emmett easily, he was still grappling with Dom as Jasper and Jacob watched. "Em!" The fighting stopped instantly. "We're going to bed." He nodded and gave Dom one last punch before he was behind me. "I'll see you all tomorrow." With a chorus of good nights, we headed upstairs.

"Were you serious about the no-sex thing?"

"Were you serious about moving us into Bella's backyard?"

"Yeah?"

"There's your answer."

"Does that even taste good?" Emmett eyed the bowl of mashed fruit our son was eating with a frown. Eli sat in between him and Carlisle, shoving a fistful of applesauce into his mouth.

"He seems to like it." I shrugged and finished my cereal. I got up to my empty bowl in the sink and I glanced up as I heard someone come into the room.

"Wow! Done already?" Emmett mused as he wiped Eli's hands. Bella and Edward smirked at him but didn't respond.

"Where's my baby?" Bella inquired.

"Blondie stole her," Jacob answered as he watched Rosalie through the window.

"Break a lot of stuff?" Emmett asked.

"Emmett, no." Bella shook her head at him. We all laughed quietly to ourselves and I walked back to the table, sitting back in my seat. Emmett went to ask another question but got cut off as the phone rang.

"You guys get phone calls?" She joked. Carlisle smiled and picked it up.

"Is that Charlie?" Bella approached the phone hesitantly.

"He calls twice a day," Edward spoke up.

"Clary's pretty good at keeping him satisfied but he doesn't stop asking for you and we've run out of things to tell him." Jacob turned away from the window as he replied. "He's in pretty rough shape."

"Eventually, we'll have to tell him you didn't make it." Carlisle smiled at her sadly. I pursed my lips to keep from interrupting and Emmett reached down and gave my thigh a quick squeeze.

"He needs to mourn Bella." They all nodded at her encouragingly and I kept my head down. I understood why we had to do it but it didn't make it any easier. Especially since I would be the one to tell him.

"Okay." She relented. "We'll do it tomorrow."

"I'm going to miss this place." Emmett stood up from the table and moved to stand behind Carlisle.

"We'll come back. We always do." Carlisle assured him.

"Wait." Jacob moved closer to the rest of us as he spoke. "Nobody said anything about leaving."

"Once people believe Bella's dead, we can't risk anyone seeing her," Carlisle answered him.

"So you just disappear?" There was a growing tension in the room and my heart hurt for the boy as nobody informed in beforehand.

"Jacob we don't have another choice," Edward said.

"And you're just okay with this?" Jacob turned to me and I bit my lip nervously. I glanced at Emmett and he tensed up, his jaw visibly clenching. "You're okay with just leaving your life behind?"

"Edward's right Jake, we don't have another option," I answered after a minute.

"So you're dying too?"

"We haven't figured that part out yet." I shook my head. "Dad knows I was pregnant and we planned on introducing him to Eli after he was born but he's grown so much that it'll be too suspicious. It's too big of a risk."

"So you'll just leave your Dad behind to mourn his two daughters? How nice." He spat out.

"I didn't say I was happy with it Jacob but there's nothing else we can do." I stood up angrily. "I'm not exposing him to this world. The pack will keep him safe and that's enough for me."

"There has to be another way." He muttered, his eyes pleading with all the hurt he was feeling.

"There isn't one Jake. I'm sorry." I sat back down and watched as he left the room, his footsteps clambering down the stairs.

"Everything will work out Clary," Edward assured me. Bella stayed quiet the whole time and I knew she was feeling sad about leaving too. She wasn't that close with our Dad but over the last two years, their relationship has grown so much and I know she'll miss him as much as I will.

"Yeah, I know." I sighed. Everything would be okay. At least I hoped it would.
