Bella turned out to be the center of attention at school. Or at least that's what she kept telling me. She went on and on about how Tyler kept following her around like a lost puppy and how he never seemed to stop apologizing for almost killing us with his van. She said she forgave him but that he wouldn't accept it.
She also mentioned that everyone seemed to have this rumor going around the school saying that "I damaged something internally and I was stuck in the hospital because I could die." She told them that I was fine but nobody believed her.
Truthfully I was fine, I was just dealing with mother nature. I didn't want to go to school and deal with the stress of everyone at school and my monthly friend, so Dad said I could stay home. He said without looking me in the eye, but I was just glad he said it.
That night, Bella filled me in on the rest of the gory details of the ridiculous rumors people spread about me. I couldn't help but laugh and she glared at me when I did.
"Do you think if I showed up with a fake blood stain on my clothes tomorrow, they'll scream?" I joked. She picked up my pillow and hit my stomach with it which made me groan and glare at her in return.
"Emmett noticed your absence." She smirked at me.
"Well considering we sit next to each other in Art and Government and he's in our gym class, I'm pretty sure he did." I rolled my eyes. She copied my action and lay beside me on my bed. She covered herself with the puffy comforter and mentioned that Mike asked her to the dance.
"Tyler did also, but I told them both no."
"Only because you want to go with Edward," I smirked which earned me another pillow slap.
"Do you think anyone will ask you?" She asked curiously. We were staring up at my ceiling that I had covered with glow-in-the-dark stars.
"No, but it's not like we're gonna go anyways. You're going to Florida and I'm going to Texas." I informed her.
"I know but still, it was kind of nice to be asked." She sighed.
"True but kind of pointless." I sighed along with her. "Besides the guy that I want to ask me, probably won't."
"He will, he'd be stupid not to." She reassured me. It's times like these that I loved having an older sister. She boosted my self-esteem at my crappiest times.
"It's late, we should probably sleep." I turned onto my stomach and crossed my arms underneath the pillow and buried my face into it.
"Mind if I sleep in here?" She mumbled.
"Go ahead," I told her. My voice was muffled but I guess she understood me because she turned onto her stomach and buried her face into the pillow like me. Another thing that proved we were sisters, was our sleeping positions. We preferred to sleep on our stomachs instead of our backs or sides for some odd reason.
"Night." She mumbled. I mumbled a response back to her but I was too far out of it to sound coherent.

The next morning was slow. I was dragging myself around lazily as I dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans, a red and white striped shirt, and black converse. My hair was straightened and left down, I didn't feel like doing much to it. My makeup was done minimally like always but you could see just how exhausted I was. I spent most of the night tossing and turning and I just couldn't seem to fall asleep.
"Ya know, you don't have to go back today if you're not feeling up to it," Dad told me as he saw me tiredly walk down the stairs.
"I have to, I missed my Math test yesterday." I yawned as I poured myself a glass of water. I poured two pills from the bottle of Midol I had in my hand and swallowed them quickly.
"Who has a math test so early in the year?" I heard Dad mumble.
"The times have changed Dad. High school is much harder than it used to be." I joked as I shrugged on my puffy black jacket.
"I'm not that old." He huffed.
"Whatever you say, old man." I grinned. "Oh hey, I have a science report due next week and I have to do some research on dinosaurs, do you think you could help me, you know since you used to" I began but he cut me off.
"Oh get out of here already." He whacked me with his newspaper as I laughed and dodged his hits. "Have a good day in"
"Hell." I cut him off with a grin.
"Leave before I ground you." He pointed his finger at me.
"You can't ground me if I never do anything." I rolled my eyes.
"I could ground you from watching Netflix." He raised an eyebrow with a giant smirk on his face.
"Geez, it's like you want me to die. I mean you're forcing me to go to school and now you're trying to take away my only source of oxygen." I gasped and walked to the door.
"Shut up and get out of my house." He grinned, shaking his head at me.
"Love you too." I smiled and skipped out of the house and over to the truck where Bella waited for me.
"Stop smiling and get in the damn truck." She mumbled as I opened the door.

Walking into school was hell. Everyone was whispering about Bella and me, it was getting on my nerves. They kept going on and on about my absence the day before and I was sick of it.
"Just one, just let me punch one person, that's it. Only one," I begged Bella. We were at our lockers and she wouldn't let me yell or punch someone that kept whispering about us.
"Fine, you can yell once. But let me close my locker first." She mumbled. I grinned happily and she rolled her eyes at me.
"Now?" I asked.
"Now." She responded, softly shutting her locker. I smiled and grabbed my backpack from the floor and slammed my locker shut.
I turned to the people lingering in the halls but before I could say anything Bella grabbed my arm and began to drag me away. "I change my mind." She grinned. I groaned and muttered under my breath.
"Buzz kill." I turned and glared at everyone we passed but she smacked my head and dragged me to my class. We stopped in front of the door to the classroom and before I could say anything to her, she pushed me in the direction of my seat, sat me in it, and then awkwardly walked out of the room.
"Welcome back Miss Swan." The teacher said to me.
"Was that sarcasm, I feel like it was," I responded and laid my head on the desk. I heard the kids in the class laugh but the teacher rolled his eyes at me and continued looking at the papers on his desk.
"Hey." I heard a deep voice rumble beside me.
"Sup." I lifted my head but I didn't turn in his direction.
"The sky." He responded.
"Smartass." I snorted. He chuckled but didn't say anything else.
The rest of the school day passed just as quickly as the first period did. I was extremely grateful that despite the pain Mother Nature had inflicted upon me, fate decided to step in and make the rest of my day bearable. No one bothered me, not even the gym teacher who insisted I sit out so I wouldn't leave bloody puddles all over the gym floor.
By the end of the day when I reached my locker, I just couldn't wait to get home.
"Hey, Clary." I turn and see Greg standing there looking at me nervously.
"Hey Greg, what's up?" I closed my locker and put my jacket on as I waited for him to respond.
"Well, I was, umm, if you wanted to go to the dance with me?" His voice raised a few octaves as he finished his sentence. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously and I smiled slightly at his anxious gestures.
"I'm sorry, I'm not going to the dance." I sighed as his hopeful expression turned into a sad one. "I'm going to Texas that weekend but you should ask Tracy from our math class, I know she wants to go with you." I smiled a little at him before reaching to him and giving his hand a small squeeze. He smiled a little and nodded before turning and walking away.
"You broke his heart ya know?" I hear Emmett say from behind me.
"He's nice but he's not the one I like." I shrugged and turned to face him. He raised an eyebrow at me.
"And who do you like?" He asked.
"Wouldn't you like to know," I smirked before walking around him and heading to the doors of the school?
"I would yeah." He grinned as he fell into step beside me. "Can I have a hint?"
I turned to him and smirked. "Sure." I leaned up to him and kissed his cheek before whispering into his ear. "You." I pecked his cheek again before pushing the doors open and leaving him inside the school. I could feel his eyes on me but I didn't turn around to look at him. I was too busy mentally burying myself six feet underground for the stunt I just pulled. I didn't regret it but I was extremely embarrassed about it.
"Why are you blushing?" Bella asked.
"No reason." I smiled at her.
"Sure, we gotta get to the diner. Dad's waiting." She said but before she got in the truck she looked at something behind me. "Oh, that's why you're blushing." She smirked.
I turned around and there stood Emmett Cullen standing by the doors of the school smiling at me. I smiled back and quickly got into the truck before I could embarrass myself any further.
"We're so talking about this later." Bella grinned at me after she got in the truck.
"Let's just go before I embarrass myself anymore." I groaned. She chuckled but sped away from the school nonetheless. Before we left the parking lot though, I caught Emmett Cullen still standing there smiling but what startled me was the way Edward stood beside him doing the same thing.
"What happened with you and Edward?" I asked her as I still stared at the two smiling idiots.
"Oh shut up." She groaned but I chuckled.
