The young Winston girl walked back in after cleaning her arm just in time for hear Damon's story. He had just started and she made sure not to interrupt.

"In May 1994 I was living here. I'd come home to walk the straight narrow."

He told them when he and his brother, Stefan, were cleaning his car together. He also slipped in the fact that Stefan's replacement blood tasted like a hair ball, to which Abigail cracked a smile at. From what she understood, his brother Stefan didn't drink human blood and preferred animal to not become tempted with the desire to kill. She found that extremely honorable and considered might even liking him more than Damon.

His 'Uncle' Zach had just gotten back from a grocery run, a bag filled with pancake mix and other little specialties like bread. Then he mentioned that Zach's girlfriend Gail was pregnant and back then wanted to plant the moves on her.

"Gail?" Abigail asked, squinting her eyes at him with peak interest because that was the nickname he had given her.

"Yes, Gail, don't feel so special," Damon stopped his story with a sigh and and eye roll before finishing.

Abigail heard little snores and looked at the couch, seeing that Kai fell sleep. Or he was pretending to, either way it was funny. She couldn't care less about Damon's story too, but he was her friend and the least she could do was listen.

"Perfect," Damon muttered and got himself a cup of bourbon while looking at the knocked out smartass on the couch, "Our savior is insane and narcoleptic."

"No, no, no," They all heard Kai speak, "I'm awake. Let me guess, you killed the pregnant woman."

"He wouldn't do that. Yeah, he's an asshole and I've only known him for four months, but he actually has bit of a heart," Abigail interrupted with a confused look on her face, slightly offended that he would even think that. "He's a good person."

"Is she always this naive?" Kai asked with confusion, directing it more to Bonnie then anyone else in the room.

Damon sent a weak smile her way like he was guilty before looking at the empty fire place, "Shut up, Kai. Besides, you weren't even listening."

Bonnie looked at Abigail and shared her expression of confusion. It was like they were communicating through their looks that this was going to probably end up badly. Abigail just hoped that nobody got hurt in the process.

"I was listening, in my sleep. You were hanging out with your distant nephew Zach who you call Uncle Zach because that's not confusing. Plus, pregnant lady Gail who had a big bull's-eye on her chest," Kai defended himself whilst sitting up, "Got it."

Abigail sank back in her chair, not wanting to listen to any more accusations Kai wanted to make. Maybe Damon did something else that day, like kill an innocent bystander who was possibly close to Zach and/or Gail. She couldn't and wouldn't believe that he killed a pregnant lady.

"Tell me you didn't kill a pregnant woman," Bonnie crossed her arms, staring at Damon with an urging attitude while also in denial.

"Well, that's totally what happened. Why else would today be his personal hell?" Kai titled his head a bit, continuing to work on his little invention.

"Maybe he did anything but kill a pregnant lady, perhaps?" Abigail asked sarcastically, furrowing her eyebrows at the man-child.

Damon walked up to Kai a little and then crouched down, setting his bourbon by his feet. He looked up at Kai, who leaned in, with little patience left, "The only reason you're alive right now is because I thought you would get us out of here and help us, but you don't have any answers! You're just a man child with jam on his fingers!"

Damon knocked the jam bottle over, causing Bonnie to let out a sigh and look away. Abigail only stared at him, not use to this sort of outbreak. When he would get angry, she would leave before she can witness anything.

Kai had that dumb look on his face like he knew something they didn't, which was probably 100% the case. However, no emotion really came to play when he spoke.

"Okay. To get home, we'll harness the power of the eclipse using a mystical relic. It's called an ascendant, and it looks like this, Damon," Kai explained before holding up what he was previously building, leaving Damon with no words.

The two girls only watched the scene, not wanting to get involved with the dramatics. Abigail specifically as she wasn't going to congratulate Kai on making a replica of something that'll help them or help Damon yell at him which would potentially lead to Kai exposing what she did last night.

"The last time we had it was in the pacific northwest," Kai continued to go on, opening the book he had Bonnie go fetch for him, "Oregon."

"We?" Bonnie asked and looked down at it, curious to know who he was talking about if not them.

"It belonged to my family," Kai stated with a quick glance towards the girl before looking back at the book, "So, here's a little blood to get you started."

He took the pocket knife and cut his finger before getting up. Abigail could practically feel his cockiness, "Now all we need is a locator spell to pinpoint its whereabouts."

Damon stopped crouching and got up, eye-to-eye level with Kai, "Think you can find our ticket out of here, ladies?"

Abigail snapped her head towards Bonnie. shaking her head to indicate that Bonnie would be doing this by herself. She wanted to save her energy just in case something happened.

Bonnie nodded a bit at her before looking back at Kai, a smug look coming across her face, "Hell yeah."

"You had no problem using your magic last night, why the sudden change? I mean, I'm sure it's tiring making people fly and all, but come on. You're strong, remember?" Kai asked Abigail with a hint of sarcasm before walking with Bonnie over to a table where there were dozens of maps already placed out.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Abigail lied, an innocent yet confused look flashing on her face. Kai looked at her and she narrowed her eyes at him, like she was telling him to shut up.

He put his hands in surrender and went back to working with Bonnie. She rolled her eyes and looked away from the two, her eyes landing on the floor.

What if they actually got out with his help? They'll all be free to proceed in the normal human world, but what would that mean for Abigail? She didn't have any more family or even friends waiting for her return and she doubted staying with Damon and Bonnie was a good idea.

That's if they even want to be around her still.

She heard Bonnie began to chant and snapped out of her thoughts. Her eyes again trailed to the girl and then got up, making her way over to get a closer picture.

"It doesn't feel right," Bonnie stopped chanting and sighed, staring at the book she was currently using as a map, "Maybe I need a bigger map."

Abigail frowned and then took the book, looking at it. It was a map of Oregon and if the ascendant was there, it would've worked by now. Of course, maybe it wasn't in Oregon. Or Bonnie's magic wasn't legitimate enough.

The thought of Oregon, though, was enough to make Abigail smile. Her secret lover lived in Oregon and she was make secretly trips to see them.

But she couldn't think of her right now. Right now, they had to find where the damn ascendant was.

"Maybe you're just out of practice and you suck at magic now," Damon said with a raspy voice as he poured himself another drink. Abigail covered her mouth as a smile snuck up on her, but she didn't want Bonnie to see.

Kai looked over at her and shook his head disapprovingly, but he too held in a smile to keep himself from laughing. "Ignore them, Bonnie. Pretend he's a white noise machine, that's how I used to tune out my siblings."

This peaked Abigails interest and her head perked up, all attention on him. She loved hearing about other families, even the negative things they said about each other. It reminded her when she was with her own family.

"I grew up with a ton of little sisters and brothers," Kai went reminiscing as he made his way over to Bonnie, "All of them constantly yammering, but it, uh, taught me how to focus."

Right now, Kai was way too close to the Bennett witch. His face was merely just inches away. Abigail noticed this and rose an eyebrow. She knew he took interest in Bonnie since the moment he saw her when he first woke up last night. And what's not to like? Bonnie was hot and young and insanely smart and talented.

But it was a little gross. And it wasn't just Abigail who was grossed out by the flirting as Damon clearly had an issue with it.

"Easy there, big brother. She doesn't know you," Damon said protectively over his best friend before taking a sip of his drink. "At least buy her a drink."

"Not to mention out of your realm," Abigail added with a little amused scoff and went back to looking at the book, not paying attention to Damon's little chuckle or Kai's glare.

"Ah, yes, the simple talk of an elder. Hey, how's the hearing going by the way? You up to date or does someone need some hearing aids?" He teased her, clearly bothered by her insult that sounded like something Shakespeare would say.

"I'm good right now, but thank you so much for caring about my hearing, pretty boy," Abigail shot back with a little toothy smile before walking away, earning a little amused head shake from Damon.

The witch simply let them get back to the spell as she went to find something to snack on. Abigail felt it might take a while anyway with Kai's flirts and Bonnie's weariness.

โ€”

It was just thirty minutes later when Bonnie finally managed to locate where the object was. But when she did, it settled on Mystic Falls. She looked at Kai and felt against his chest, feeling the ascendant through his shirt. It was a remarkable move on Kai's part, but Abigail thought Bonnie could do better than this.

"You know, he's proving himself to be very unlikable every new minute," Abigail muttered for only Damon to hear, rubbing her forehead with a sigh.

"Dick tried to kill me and now he's unlikeable to you?" Damon said very lowly as he walked over and stood next to her, making Abigail giggle a bit with a nod.

"That's the ascendant?" Bonnie asked skeptically, looking down at what Kai held in his hands.

"The one and only," Kai answered back with raised eyebrows before looking at Damon and Abigail with a smile.

"Thanks for the mind games, jackass," Damon said as he stared at the thing in his hand, sort of pissed off.

"You annoy me incredibly so, Kai" Abigail commented sighing, looking at Kai with daggers coming out of her eyes.

"Thank you," Kai replied back to her with fake enthusiasm before looking back at Damon, "And it just was another little test to make sure Bonnie's magic was precise enough for the spell. And i do believe she's ready."

He looked at everyone before putting on a grin on his face, "Pack your bags, ladies and gentleman. We're going home."

Damon finally had on that stupid smile along with Bonnie. Abigail tried to make it seem like she was on the same level of happiness as them, but deep down inside she was scared.

She walked away from the three and went towards the booze. It would be her first time compared to the vampire in the room as she's never drank alcohol before, but decided to give it a try anyways. A celebration like this deserved one.

Her cup was filled with bourbon, figuring she'd give it a shot if Damon liked it so much. After Abigails first sip, her face went sour and her throat felt like it was burning. She couldn't help but cough until she felt someone stand next to her.

"What's wrong with you?" Kai asked as he poured himself a drink. He wasn't the drinker type, but a little indulging never hurt anybody. Plus, it was a very special day, so it was called for a celebration.

"Nothing," Abigail lied with a small smile, "Just thinking about home is all."

"I can imagine it'll be weird to show up at your descendants house all like, 'I'm your ancestor who died ages ago, mind lending me a place to sleep?'"

"Something like that."

Kai drank the rest of what left in his cup before shrugging, "If they don't take you, you're more than welcomed to stay with me. I've grown very fond of you making me fly in the air and I'd just hate to let that kind of love go."

"No thanks," Abigail scoffed and put her drink down, changing the subject. "Is alcohol always supposed to taste so sour? Wine is nothing like this."

"Oh my god, you're a wine mom," Kai groaned and turned on his heels, walking away and heading towards the main entrance. Abigail was confused on what that meant and if that was a bad thing or not.

Damon and Bonnie walked up to her with curious faces on as well. They had seen the encounter and to say it was awkward was an understatement.

"What was that all about?" Bonnie asked with with her arms crossed, her eyes trailing to where Kai had walked.

Abigail shrugged and truthfully answered before following the girls attention, "No idea. But I have a feeling we're about to find out."
