"Do everything as you would ten years ago. Down to the last detail." Mr. Nobody's words rang in her ears as she stared at the small store. It still looked the same minus the weathered paint job and streaky windows.
"So much for not making any detours." The brunette sighed. "Here goes nothing." Izzy stepped out of the car and pushed her hair behind her shoulders as she walked down the sidewalk and made her way into the store. The place brought back early memories for the girl, most of them revolving around the same few faces. The bell above the door rang loud and she grimaced slightly at the attention directed towards her. She walked down the aisle and grabbed a random bag of chips before making her way to the counter. She recognized the same long haired brunette behind the counter, her face still the same even after slowly aging over the years.
"Hi, what can I get for you?" The woman could obviously use a break but Izzy didn't comment on it and instead smiled politely.
She recited the order from deep within her memory. "Yes, can I have a ham on white with no lettuce and a turkey on wheat with everything?" She saw the lady pause briefly while writing her order and she screamed internally. She had planned on not being recognized, surely they wouldn't remember or recognize her. But judging from the sad look in the lady's eyes, she knew she was a distant memory for her.
"Yeah, coming right up." Izzy handed her the twenty dollar bill she had folded in her hand.
"You can keep the change, I don't have pockets." Which wasn't a lie. Instead of her usual ripped jeans she wore to work, she had been instructed to wear a sundress. It was one of the few dresses the girl had in her closet, the color a pastel blue that complimented her tan skin tone. She could recall her younger self wearing the same pink jacket everyday of her younger years and she cringed at the thought.
"Okay." Izzy watched the lady falter slightly before handing her order off to the guy in the back and watching her carefully. Izzy took a peek behind the lady at the guy but she noted that this one had hair, meaning the man she remembered wasn't there. At the sound of the bell above the door, Izzy fought the urge to tense up and glance at whoever walked in. She was still being scrutinized by the woman in front of her and the last thing she needed was to be caught slipping. To distract herself, she fiddled with the short lanyard on her wrist and ignored the questioning looks she was getting all around.
"Here, Mia." The blue eyed man behind the counter handed the woman the brown paper bag and she in turn handed it to Izzy.
"Thank you ma'am. Have a nice day." She smiled politely and turned to exit the store. A few people stood in her path and she said a quick 'excuse me' before walking past them. She pushed the door open and turned to give everyone a wide smile back before walking down the sidewalk to her car. She unlocked the car and with one last fleeting glance to the store, where she noticed the man from her memories standing by the open door, she climbed into her car and drove away.
The second she peeled away from the sidewalk, three other cars that were parked on the street began to tail her and she drove for a few minutes before finding an empty parking lot and pulled over.
"You good?" Genie exited the car he was in and walked over to the girl's window.
"Yeah I'm good." Izzy reassured him. "I've got a quick stop to make and then I'll catch up with you guys."
"Call if you need me." Genie ducked his head in to kiss her cheek before he was walking back to his car and speeding away, the rest of the team following him. Izzy waited for them to turn the corner before turning around and driving in the opposite direction. She was excited for her next stop. She could only hope they were excited to see her too.

"Dom, I'm telling you it was her." Mia stressed her reasoning to her brother. "She ordered the exact same thing and acted the exact same way."
"She was never found Mia. It can't be her." Dom shook his head.
"You're wrong and I'm going to prove it to you."

Izzy drove onto the abandoned race track and took a deep breath as she parked the car. If she closed her eyes, she could envision her younger self learning how to ride a bike around the giant circle, learning how to roller skate and weave through the cones. Her happiest memories were spent on that track and she had one man to thank for that. And it wasn't the one who claimed to raise her. She took silent steps as she made her way to the opened garage. She could see the older man bent over the hood of a black car and she smiled to herself before startling him.
"Some things never change." The men stopped and whirled around. "Hey Grandpa." Izzy smiled widely, her eyes watering at the sight of him.
"Annie!" Izzy shook her head at the nickname, he was the only one in her life who ever called her that and she never had the heart to tell him not to. Hearing the nickname and seeing his smiling face, made the girl's troubles and worries fade away. Something about him felt like home to her and that would never change. "It's been too long girl." He didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her and Izzy felt a tear slide down her cheek.
"I missed you so much." She mumbled into his shoulder.
"I missed you too." He pulled away, his smile never leaving his face. "What brings you here? You didn't bring that uncle of yours with you, did ya?"
"No sir." She chuckled, shaking her head. "Haven't seen him in awhile so if you hear from him, don't tell me." The two shared a laugh and Izzy let Buddy guide her further into the garage. "Oh, this is for you." Izzy handed him the brown bag and he took it from her with a knowing look.
"You went." He commented. He opened the bag and handed her the turkey sandwich.
"I did. Nothing's really changed."
"Oh dont sit there and pretend like it hasn't." Izzy couldn't help but laugh. "You and I both know exactly what you're playin' at." Buddy smirked at his granddaughter. She may not have been his by blood but he knew her real grandfather Jack was just happy he was stepping up, the same way he did for Jakob.
"It's all for work Grandpa. I don't plan on them ever knowing, I've kept my secrets for this long already. What they don't know won't hurt them." Izzy tried to act nonchalant about the whole situation. The thought of the truth coming out always terrified her and she knew the family was unpredictable, there was no telling what they'd do or how they'd react. She couldn't take any chances.
"So you're here for work, then?" Izzy nodded. "Your uncle involved?"
"Like I said, haven't seen him in awhile. We don't work for the same person anymore."
"Only person Jakob ever worked for was himself." Buddy grunted and bit into his sandwich. "I love that boy like my own but he never was a team player."
"Speaking nothing but the truth there Gramps." They shared a laugh before they were interrupted by the sound of her phone ringing. She quickly answered it and hoped it was good news.
"We got a problem."
"Who's 'we'?" Izzy scoffed. "I thought you guys had everything under control. I did my part just fine."
"Nows not the time for this Izzy." Genie's voice was rough and stern. Izzy sighed and rubbed her forehead as she felt her nerves start to settle in.
"What happened?"
"Nobody's sending new orders. We're headed back to base."
"I'll meet you there." Izzy hung up and smiled sadly at Buddy. He dismissed her frown and told her he understood.
"Don't be a stranger." She promised she wouldn't and Buddy watched her leave. It always made him sad to witness her live a life he fought hard to keep her from. But she was older now and she had a right to make her own decisions, he just hoped she didn't turn out the same way her uncle did.
