"I love it, baby." Ashton smiled, and Calum squeaked. "It's perfect."
"So are you." Calum whispered, then leaned his head on Ashton's shoulder.
Ashton blushed, keeping his eyes focused on the drawing in front of him. "Shut up."
"Why don't you make me?" Calum taunted cheekily, smirking into Ashton's neck.
"How do you switch from sweet to horny in a matter of seconds?" Ashton chuckled, running a hand through his angel's hair.
"Your voice, just...fuck." Calum whined softly. "I know you don't feel good, but fuck, your voice does things to me."
"I know, beautiful." Ashton kissed the boys forehead. "I love you so much."
"I love you too, Ash."
They stayed silent for a few moments, simply holding each other. Although they loved talking, and they loved each others voices, silence between them was always comfortable.
"So, when do you wanna get it done?" Calum then asked quietly, growing excited and nervous.
"We can go tomorrow afternoon." Ashton offered. He noticed Calum's suddenly tense body language, and grabbed his hand. "Don't be worried, angel."
"I-I'm not worried, Ash. I'm excited, but...also kinda scared."
Ashton carefully intertwined their fingers, rubbing circles on Calum's hand with his thumb. "Why are you scared?"
Ashton's small gesture soothed Calum more than most words could.
"This is a big step, y'know? We're taking our relationship to the next level, and it's scary." Calum looked over at Ashton with a sad smile. "Aren't you even a little nervous?"
"Of course I am." Ashton almost laughed. "But I'm so happy with you, Calum. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and these tattoos will be with us as long as we'll be with each other."
Calum blushed and buried his face in Ashton's neck again, "Shut the fuck up you sappy ass."
"Never." Ashton giggled, placing his chin atop Calum's head. Calum detangled his fingers from Ashton's, then practically crawled onto his lap; suddenly craving physical contact.
Ashton only smiled wider, wrapped his arms around the boy, and sighed contently. "I'm always gonna love you, you know that, right?"
Calum exhaled deeply. "I know, Ash. I love you too. Actually, I love you more."
"Not possible." Ashton disagreed. "I love you more."
Calum shook his head and smiled against Ashton's skin. He let his lips rest on Ashton's collarbone, and his eyes fluttered shut.
These were the moments they enjoyed. There was nothing to worry about, neither of them were in any pain, and their love was stronger than anything.
It wouldn't be like this forever, but they could hope.
-
The next morning, Calum was cooking breakfast as Ashton showered.
He wanted to make sure that they had something to eat before they got their tattoos, because they didn't know how long they'd be there.
Calum had chosen to wear a simple black and white polka dotted shirt, and his usual black skinny jeans.
"You look beautiful, angel." Ashton whispered, kissing beneath Calum's ear as his arms snaked around his waist. Calum jumped slightly as Ashton appeared behind him, causing Ashton to smile.
The tanned lad blushed madly. "So do you."
Ashton straightened his plain black t-shirt. "No. I'm a handsome man."
Calum giggled, then pecked Ashton's lips. "Yeah. My handsome man."
Ashton ran his hands along Calum's hips before burying his face in the boy's shoulder. "You're absolute perfection."
"Shush." Calum quietly replied, blush not fading. "Now let me finish this, we need to eat."
Ashton left a few quick kisses down Calum's jaw before stepping backwards. "Okay."
"Wait." Calum spun around, let go of the utensil, and ran his fingers through Ashton's wet curls.
"I love you-" He began, pulling Ashton closer.
"-So fucking much." Ashton finished, gently connecting their lips.
Ashton's hands went back around Calum's waist, and Calum tugged softly on the older lads fiery hair. Because they couldn't get enough of each other, each kiss was different. This one seemed eager as well as sweet, because they were so in love but also usually horny little shits.
Suddenly, Calum pulled away, watching as Ashton chased his lips. "No, stop distracting me. I need to finish breakfast."
"Sorry baby." Ashton kissed Calum once more, then bumped their noses together.
He moved away from Calum, then opened a cabinet to retrieve plates for them to eat off of. He set them down on the table, and went to grab utensils.
As Calum piled their French toast onto the plates, Ashton watched him intently.
"What?" Calum asked as he sat down.
"Nothin'." Ashton whispered, sitting down as well. "You're just cute."
"O-okay." Calum squeaked.
They ate in comfortable silence for the most part, though they also exchanged quiet 'I love you's over syrupy kisses.
They wanted this to be forever. They wanted to move in together and have this every morning. They wanted a family, a nice home and, most of all, they wanted their love to last a lifetime.
They were going to fight so that it would.
Calum watched Ashton stand up, and he stuffed the last bite of food into his mouth, inevitably getting powdered sugar everywhere, including his lips. Ashton saw, but Calum didn't seem to notice.
Calum stood up, then carried his plate to the sink and was about to walk towards the bathroom to brush his teeth when Ashton stopped him.
"You have sugar on your lips, angel." Ashton whispered, grabbing hold of Calum's waist again.
He softly attached their lips, swiping his tongue along Calum's bottom lip to collect the powder. Calum tangled his fingers in Ashton's hair, pulling him closer. He let Ashton take control of the kiss, and before long, Calum's face was flushed and Ashton's hair was a mess.
"All gone." Ashton mumbled, resting their foreheads together.
Calum smiled softly, basking in this moment. Ashton moved his hands from Calum's waist to his face, feeling the heat from Calum's rosy cheeks.
"You're so pretty." Calum suddenly pointed out. "And I'm so lucky to have you."
Ashton smiled, watching Calum slowly lick his lips. "I don't understand how you can be adorable and sexy at the same time."
"Shut up." Calum murmured, "You're the sexy one."
"No." Ashton giggled. "It's you."
He lightly tapped Calum's bum, causing the younger lad to squeak. His hands then both slid down to hold Calum's ass, keeping the boys body flush against his own.
"You drive me fucking mad." Ashton huskily whispered. His lips then collided with the boy's neck, effortlessly leaving new marks (even though he'd just made some the night before).
Calum craned his neck to give Ashton more room to work, letting out little whines and soft moans with each bite and mark being made.
"Okay." Calum gasped after a couple minutes. "As much as I'm loving this, we have to go."
"I know." Ashton pulled away, smiling fondly at his boyfriend. He pressed one last kiss to Calum's nose, then stepped away and went to the sofa, grabbing his leather jacket that read "Cry Baby."
"God, I love that jacket." Calum mumbled, grabbing Ashton's hand.
Ashton intertwined their fingers. "Yeah?"
"Yeah." Calum smirked. "Do you remember that time I told you that you weren't a snack, but you're a meal?"
Ashton giggled. "Yes."
"That's it." Calum mumbled. "You're just that gorgeous."
"Thank you, baby. Are you ready to go?"
"We didn't brush our teeth." The tanned lad pointed out softly.
Ashton giggled, spun the boy around as if they were ballroom dancing, and pulled him back into his body. "Okay, we'll go brush our teeth."
"I'm so in love with you." Calum muttered absentmindedly, kissing all over Ashton's face. "So, so so in love with you."
"I'm so in love with you too, angel." Ashton replied slowly, his smile widening as the boys lips travelled across his face.
"Even when I make you angry?"
"Even when you make me angry."
"And even when I steal all the blankets?"
"Even when you steal all the blankets."
"And even when I'm all ugly in the morning and my breaths all stinky?"
"Calum, you are never ugly. Especially in the morning, you're so cute." Ashton rubbed their noses together. "But sometimes your breath is all stinky."
"That's why we need to brush our teeth!" Calum nearly shrieked, though he was smiling like an idiot.
"Okay, okay, sorry."
And Ashton allowed Calum to pull him to the bathroom so they could brush their teeth, although they ended up doing a little more with their mouths than just that.
-
When they finally arrived at the tattoo shop, their hands were once again linked as they walked through the door. Calum was slightly intimidated by the people at the front desk, but Ashton was reassuringly squeezing his hand, reminding him that there was nothing to fear.
There were few people in line before them, and as usual, they were in need of constant physical contact.
Calum stepped in front of Ashton, who's arms slipped around his waist. Calum's head fell backwards onto the peak of Ashton's shoulder, relaxing into his soft touch as he made a mental note of each point of contact between their bodies.
Ashton buried his face in the crook of the tanned lads neck, beginning to pepper light kisses on the smooth surface.
"I love you so much, angel." Ashton whispered softly against the boy's neck.
"Love you too." Calum absentmindedly replied, the nervous feeling from earlier returning with new power. He wanted this, more than anything, but change frightened him.
Ashton rubbed circles with his thumbs on Calum's hips. "Don't be nervous, baby."
"I'm not nervous." Calum assured him. Ashton pursed his lips, and although Calum couldn't see him, he knew. "Okay, maybe a little. I just...change is scary. This is important."
"And you're important to me, Calum. But if you don't want this-"
"I want this." Calum interrupted, determined. "I promise."
"Okay." Ashton grinned lovingly. "Good."
Calum pulled away and spun around, tucking his hands into Ashton's jacket as he locked their eyes together. Ashton pressed a soft kiss to Calum's forehead.
"You still have the drawing?" Calum asked.
"I thought you had it." Ashton quietly mumbled.
Calum giggled and rested his head against Ashton's chest. "Yeah."
He pulled his hand out of Ashton's jacket, now holding a piece of paper. "I knew you would get nervous and misplace it, so I put it in your pocket last night."
"You were right." Ashton continued to smile, gently pulling Calum closer. "Now lets go get our tattoos, baby."
-
As they walked out of the tattoo parlour, Calum couldn't stop staring at their joined hands. Ashton was going to be his forever, and now they had designs permanently etched into their skin to prove it.
It was a little painful, and red around some areas, but Calum was so happy with it. And Ashton was as well, he was smiling so wide that he thought his face would crack.
"Do you like it?" Ashton asked, watching Calum observe their hands like they were separate from their bodies.
"I-I love it." Calum squeaked, still in awe. "Do you?"
"It's perfect." The redhead mumbled happily, bringing Calum's hand to his lips. "I love it almost as much as I love you."
Calum blushed, lips turning upwards in a small smile. "I love you too, Ash."
They reached the vehicle, and Ashton opened the door for Calum, then walked over to the drivers side.
After putting on their seatbelts, Ashton laced their fingers together and began to drive.
The entire way home, Calum tried to make Ashton laugh using the most horrible jokes he could think of. And when they eventually arrived, Calum refused to get out of the car.
"Baby, are we leaving the car?"
"Mm, no." Calum sounded awfully close to a four year old (which Ashton thought was the cutest thing).
"Don't you wanna go inside?"
"Nope." Calum unbuckled his seatbelt. "I want you, right here, right now."
Ashton smirked and unbuckled his own seatbelt. "Right here in the car?"
"Right here in the car."
"Okay, baby boy. Whatever you want."
Calum leaned over, kissed Ashton quickly, then climbed into the backseat. Ashton followed, and Calum got exactly what he wanted.
