Ashton groaned as his alarm screamed in his ear, and he reached over to swipe it off before a startling realization hit him.

"Fuck, I get to see Calum today."

"Yes! Now get up and get your shit ready."

Ashton immediately grabbed for the gun he kept on his nightstand and pointed it in the direction the voice had come from. "Shit! How the fuck did you get in here?"

Michael smirked. "You didn't think I'd copy your key?"

"Get out, Michael." Ashton hissed.

"Why?"

"It's weird that you're here."

"Is it?"

"Yes!" Ashton exclaimed, anger growing. "Were you watching me sleep?"

"No." Michael rolled his eyes. "I was looking for all your toys."

"Toys?"

Michael let out a tired sigh. "Guns, Ashton. Where are your guns?"

"What do you need a gun for?"

"I told Luke that-"

"Get the fuck out of my house before I murder you."

"Fine, alright." Michael held his hands up in surrender. "I'm leaving."

After Michael had fled for fear of losing his life, Ashton frantically showered and dressed, panic coursing through his veins as he hurried around his apartment to get everything ready.

Once he was satisfied with how the place looked, he checked the time. 11:08am, his watch read. Calum would be landing within the hour. Ashton cursed under his breath and rushed to the bathroom, checking over his outfit once more. He didn't think Calum would care what he was wearing, but he didn't want to later find out there was a flaw in his appearance.

He rather liked these articles of clothing: a simple white button up shirt and black skinny jeans. He decided to leave his hair in its naturally curly state after stepping out of the shower. He gave himself a nod of approval in the mirror before grabbing his keys, wallet and phone, then rushing out the door.

-

When Ashton arrived at the airport at 11:37am, he was worried that stopping for flowers had made him late. He wanted to make sure there was something for him to give to Calum (besides his affection of course), but he didn't want Calum to think he'd blown him off.

He worriedly scanned over the texts Calum had sent him before take-off, trying to find the time when Calum would likely arrive. 11:49am it said. Ashton let out a breath of relief. He had plenty of time. That caused his insecurities to bubble to the surface of his mind. He'd never been an insecure person, but this was an important moment and he didn't want to ruin it.

After a tiring eleven minutes spent worrying about Calum's arrival, Ashton had finally started to calm down. He wanted this. Everything would be fine. He had begun to count the petals on the roses he'd brought for Calum, until he saw people starting to emerge from the terminal.

He immediately shot out of his seat, startling the woman beside him.

"Expecting someone special?"

Ashton eagerly nodded, fiddling with the flowers in his hands. "Yes."

"Girlfriend?" She enthusiastically asked.

"B-boyfriend, actually." Ashton bit his lip, thinking that just because it wasn't true now didn't mean that it would never be.

"Oh." The woman's smile faltered for a moment, then reappeared as though it had never gone. "That's lovely."

"He is." Ashton returned her smile, then once more faced where Calum would be in just seconds. Sure enough, Calum appeared from around the corner, flower crown and all, and Ashton's face lit up like a kid on Christmas.

Calum let out a squeak, a bright smile taking over his own face, and rushed over to Ashton, trapping him in an embrace so powerful that Ashton was almost knocked to the ground by the force. His smile widened as Calum tightened his grip. The only thing running through Ashton's mind was, fuck, he's even prettier in person.

Calum giggled quietly. He was so happy. Ashton made him so happy.

Eventually, Ashton whispered, "Baby, I can't breathe."

"M'sorry." Calum bit his lip, neither blush nor smile fading. He let Ashton pull away slightly, much to his dismay.

Ashton set the now slightly crushed roses down on a nearby chair and wrapped his arms around Calum once again. "I didn't say stop."

Calum returned the gesture, nuzzling his face into the crook of Ashton's neck as his arms snaked around Ashton's waist. "I can't believe I'm-you smell so good oh my god, Ashton-"

Ashton let out a soft chuckle, interrupting Calum's rambling. "I'm so glad that you're here."

"Me too." Calum shyly replied, his voice muffled against Ashton's skin. "You're so pretty, Ash-and tall and warm...And now I'm crying on you-"

"You're adorable."

Calum blushed again and his skin heated up, causing Ashton to smirk at the feeling. "And you wore my sweater?"

Calum only hummed in response, rhythmically running his hands along Ashton's lower back before pulling away slightly. "I said that I would."

"You're absolutely beautiful."

"You're a liar."

Ashton shook his head slowly, smile staying in place. "I'm not."

"Whatever." Calum mumbled, sighing softly as Ashton pulled out of the embrace, but continuing to smile because Ashton's hand stayed firmly on his lower back, as if afraid that he'd disappear if he let go.

"What do you wanna do first, darling?"

Calum swallowed the nervous lump in his throat, tilting his head up and locking eyes with Ashton. Ashton understood what his angel meant, gently placing his hands on Calum's hips before leaning down to bring their faces closer. And just before their lips could touch, a voice broke through the silence between them.

"So this is the boyfriend you were talking about!" The woman gushed, suddenly interested in their interaction.

Calum giggled and rested his forehead on Ashton's chest, making it easier for him to avoid speaking by hiding his face.

Ashton simply forced a small smile. "Um-yes?"

"He's wonderful! You'd better take great care of him."

"I-I will."

Calum giggled again. "I'm right here." He whispered softly, only loud enough for Ashton to hear him as he continued tracing patterns on Ashton's sides.

"I know, baby, I know." Ashton planted a gentle kiss atop Calum's head.

The woman seemed to get the hint, walking away after sending the pair another smile.
Calum burst out laughing against Ashton's chest, somewhat nervously, and Ashton let out a soft chuckle.

"That was odd." Calum mumbled after his laughter had ceased.

"Most certainly." Ashton agreed. "But she seemed sweet."

Calum chose to ignore Ashton's last comment and instead smirked and said, "You called me your boyfriend?"

"I-yes. I did." Ashton reluctantly replied. "Is there a problem?"

"Not at all." Calum gave Ashton a dopey grin. "I was kinda hoping for a first date though."

"Oh, of course. Wouldn't dream of forgetting something so important."

Ashton flashed Calum a smile that nearly stopped his heart, before taking a deep breath and looking around the space surrounding them. He didn't exactly feel awkward, but perhaps self-conscious because he knew that Calum was way too good for him and he didn't want to screw anything up.

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah."

They separated from their embrace, and as they began walking, their fingers brushed together, causing Calum to blush. Ashton gently grabbed Calum's hand and intertwined their fingers.

"Is this okay?"

And Calum knew there was probably hearts in his eyes as he whispered, "Wonderful."

-

Half an hour later, heading back to Ashton's apartment, the pair had lapsed into an awkward silence.

The vehicle came to a halt at the next red light, and Ashton bit his lip and looked over at Calum, who was simply staring out the window. When he felt Ashton's gaze, he turned to face him, wearing a soft smile.

"What?" Calum quietly asked.

"Nothin'."

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You're just-you're amazing, Calum. I'm so glad that you're finally here."

Calum blushed, "Th-Thank you?"

Ashton smiled at the boy, still unable to properly comprehend the things that were happening because of how happy he was. They continued driving, and nothing more was said until two stop lights later.

"O-okay, this i-is awkward." Calum mumbled, biting at his lip as he locked eyes with Ashton.

"Yeah."

Calum's heart beat increased as Ashton leaned towards him, and when their lips connected, it was unlike anything either had ever experienced before.

Ashton's hands slipped from the steering wheel, moving to cup Calum's face, and Calum's hands immediately went to Ashton's hair. Neither cared that they were in a car, and neither cared that there was a possibility that people could see them. In that moment, there only was each other.
Their lips moved slowly and passionately in sync, and when Calum finally pulled away, face flushed, he only smiled.

"I've wanted to do that for so long." Ashton breathed, resting their foreheads together.

"I...You...We..." Calum couldn't form a proper sentence. "Kiss..."

Ashton gave Calum another gentle peck on the lips. "You taste sweet, angel."

Calum's blush deepened, but he still didn't know how to respond. The older lad joined their lips quickly once more, smile not fading in the slightest.

"No!" Calum squeaked, smile widening. "Drive now, kiss later!"

"Okay, okay, sorry." Ashton smiled wider than he thought possible.

The older lad continued to grin as he started driving again, and Calum leaned over and kissed his cheek.

"If you can't kiss me while you're driving, I'll have to kiss you, right?"

Ashton smirked. "I suppose."

Calum pressed another gentle kiss to Ashton's cheek before sinking back down into his seat. "You suppose?"

"Yes."

"I don't think that's going to suffice."

"Oh really?"

Calum grinned cheekily. "Give me a good reason to kiss you."

"Because I want you to?"

"Nope." Calum said, popping the 'p'. "Try again."

"Because we're going to my apartment?"

"Close."

"Because I can tie you up and-"

"That was not the direction I was going with that." Calum giggled again. "But yes, you could do that...and you know I'd love it."

"I do."

They once again lapsed into silence, this one much more comfortable, and their hands remained together. Even as they pulled into the parking garage to park Ashton's car, their hands stayed intertwined. Ashton saw Calum look down at their joined hands and smile. Calum saw Ashton intently watching him as though he was the only thing on earth worth seeing. Ashton un-buckled his seatbelt. Calum followed suit. But neither made an effort to exit the vehicle.

"What are we waiting for, Ash?"

The older lad smiled at the nickname, unsure of the response he was expected to give. Instead, he rushed his words out in an anxious breath: "Can I kiss you again?"

Calum hummed, confused and excited by Ashton's nervousness. "Yes."

Ashton let out a soft breath of relief and leaned across the vehicle to where Calum sat, placing one hand softly on the boy's face and leaving the other on his hip.
Calum's hands slid up to find Ashton's hair, entangling themselves in its curly depths. "Why are you nervous?"

"You're just so perfect a-and I don't wanna screw this up."

"You won't screw anything up, Ash."

Calum made the first move this time, bringing Ashton closer and gently pressing their lips together. Ashton almost instantly relaxed into his touch, allowing himself to lean more towards his angel. Their chests now pressed together, all space between them eliminated.

Calum whined at the feeling of Ashton's weight against his own, attempting to deepen their kiss by gliding his tongue along Ashton's lower lip. Ashton refused to give in so easily, so Calum bit down on his lip, which then caused Ashton's mouth to part and allowed the tanned lads tongue to slip inside.

Ashton gave a less than gentle squeeze to Calum's hip with one hand, and his other hand trailed to the younger man's neck, firmly wrapping around one side with his thumb laying flat under his chin. Calum could not express in words how he felt, so he pulled on Ashton's hair harder, continued to kiss him with everything he had, and let out soft whines that had Ashton's heart beating frantically.

Calum felt as though there were fireworks going off in his stomach. Ashton's lips and tongue felt so natural against his, and he found himself wondering how he had survived before this moment.

"Baby boy-" Ashton panted into Calum's mouth. Calum whimpered and let his hands trail from Ashton's hair to his shoulders, then his biceps, digging his nails in lightly. The action caused Ashton to growl. How one small action sent sparks throughout his entire body, he had no idea.

Ashton knew that if he didn't stop kissing Calum right that moment, he would end up taking him into the backseat where they could continue. And as much as he wanted that, needed it, even, Ashton wanted their first time to be at the right moment.

He slowly began to pull away from the kiss, nibbling on Calum's bottom lip. When they had finally separated, Calum let out a quiet whimper at the loss of contact.

"We should go upstairs." Ashton mumbled, making sure his hand briefly rested on Calum's thigh before sinking back into his seat.

"What the fuck-" Calum quietly started. "Was that?"

"What have I said about swearing, love?"

Calum pouted, which usually got him anything he wanted. "Why'd you tease me like that?"

"It's fun. And I know you love it."

"But-" Calum didn't know what he was complaining about. Being teased was what he wanted. "Never mind. I'm sorry."

"No, baby, don't be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong."

"I know, but-"

Ashton smiled again. "Stop. It's okay. I'm sorry for teasing you."

"You can make it up to me somehow." Calum mumbled certainly. "I'm sure."

"How?"

Calum giggled and began to exit the vehicle. "We'll see."
