"Hi Ashy." Calum beamed as soon as he answered the phone. He lay on his stomach on his bed, resting his chin on his hand. Anyone observing this position might've also noticed that his feet were up in the air, resembling a teenage girl from a terrible movie.

"Hi love." Ashton replied softly, smiling right back. He was sitting on his freshly made bed, legs crossed, back rested against the headboard. "You're sure you're okay?"

"Yeah." Calum promised with a giggle. "Just wanted to see your smile."

Ashton ran a hand through his hair, and Calum watched each movement, unable to tear his eyes away. He was completely mesmerized by the older man.

"You're really pretty." Calum murmured suddenly.

"Yeah?" Ashton quietly asked. Calum nodded. "So are you."

Calum shook his head, now blushing. "N-no."

"Yes you are."

Calum covered his face with his hand. "Shut up."

"No, I mean it. You've got the prettiest eyes I've ever seen, and the most stunning smile."

Calum tried to interrupt, but Ashton continued, "You're so smart and funny and you make me so, so happy. You're perfect and so much better than me in almost every way, and I really don't deserve you but I'm really, really glad that I met you."

Ashton was staring off into his bedroom, at all the things he had but didn't need, and really only wished that he could have Calum. And when he looked back at the younger lad, he realized that the boys eyes were teary and his bottom lip was trembling.

"Calum?" Ashton cooed gently, "Darling, why are you crying? Did I say something wrong?"

A tear slipped from each of Calum's eyes, but he rushed to wipe them away. "No, you didn't say anything wrong, Ash, I'm sorry."

"Then what's the matter, love?"

"I'm sorry that I'm such a baby, you're just so sweet, a-and..." He sniffled. "I don't know what I did to deserve you."

"You know that you should have better than me." Ashton paused and allowed a smile to grow on his face. "But I'm so glad that you let me be a part of your life."
