Β Β James finished up his recording and sat down next to Jaiden on the couch. "so, about this FTC thing. listen J, i don't think it's gonna go through. and even if it does i don't think it'll hit as hard as you think it will."
Jaiden sighed as she took a sip of her tea. "i know, i know. it's just," she rests her head on his shoulder. "i don't know James. i don't have a backup plan. if this falls through i don't have anything to catch me." she takes another sip and looks down at her cup, seeing the tea bag float.

Β Β James looks down at Jaiden. he smiles a little at her worried expression, and he knows it isn't as bad as it seems. GT made the FTC seem like a huge thing that could potentially wipe them out for good.
Β Β "wait, you called me J?" Jaiden sits up.
Β Β "oh. did i? do you not like it?" James looks slightly flustered.
Β Β "no no, i do. it's just, i've never heard you call me that." she turned to lay her back in the arm of the couch, her legs across James' lap. he put his hands on her shins and she repositioned.

Β Β Jaiden shifted slightly once James put his hands on her legs. she doesn't know why she did; she liked it in all honesty. the brunette placed the tea down on the floor as the coffee table was too far. immediately after the dogs came over to sniff it.
Β Β "oh don't let them drink that. there's caffeine in there." he said shooting them away with his hand. "oh, sorry." she said picking it back up. slowly she swirled the tea back around the cup. "thanks James."
Β Β "for what?"
Β Β "for calming me down. that was very kind of you."
Β Β James smiles at her "you know you can always come to me. i'll calm you down whenever." Jaiden smiles back and laughed a little. she enjoyed his company. it was fun hanging out at his house. the leather couch was oddly comfortable, and the dogs always greeted her with barking and kisses. it became a second home to her.

Β Β as Jaiden sat there petting one of the dogs, James moved to get up. Jaiden quickly removed her legs.
"i'm just gonna go to the bathroom, i'll be right back."
"have fun!" she called to him.
he laughed as she also got up, still holding the dog. Jaiden went to the fridge and scanned it for anything good. eventually the dog wanted to be let down so she placed her on the ground. on the floor was a neatly folded up piece of paper that she picked up.
as she began to unfold it she saw her name written at the top. it was a fairly large paper, and there were neatly written words on it. soon she heard the foot steps of James coming back and put the paper in her pocket.
