"Your eyes make
me feel weird"

Binna's expression turned into a frown when Eun-gyeol hurriedly approached Yi-chan, showing concern by gently cradling his face. In all honesty, Binna could perceive an unusual intensity in Eun-gyeol's gaze towards Yi-chan, similar to how he looked at Binna. It seemed as if Eun-gyeol had some kind of affectionate and familiar connection with them, which Binna had no prior knowledge of.

Why is he giving him that kind of stare?

Binna was taken aback when both boys unexpectedly stood up, causing Yi-chan to forcefully grab Eun-gyeol's hair. Consequently, Eun-gyeol retaliated by doing the same, resulting in both boys mercilessly pulling on each other's hair akin to two young girls.

When a girl wearing a hat attempted to intervene in the altercation between the two boys to cease it, her hat was forcefully removed from her head, thereby exposing Choi Se-kyung. In a matter of seconds, all the boys encircled her while Yi-chan and Eun-gyeol disregarded this and persisted in their quarrel.

Binna was completely unfazed by this, whereas Cheong-ah, with her hand covering her mouth, concealed her shock at Se-kyung's unexpected comeback.

All of a sudden, the students began dispersing and distancing themselves from the field upon the arrival of the teachers. Binna found herself in a state of hesitation, uncertain about the appropriate course of action. She had no desire to intervene, particularly if it meant incurring her stepmother's anger. However, she also didn't want to abandon her sister to face all the repercussions alone, considering Cheong-ah's apparent willingness to assist Yi-chan in escaping from that situation.

Binna nervously bit her lower lip when her sister looked at her, silently inquiring if she could assist Yi-chan. With hesitation, the dark-haired girl agreed and positioned her feet in front of the teacher who was pursuing Yi-chan. Consequently, the teacher stumbled and fell onto the ground, landing face-first.

Cheong-ah hid her joy while observing the van transporting Yi-chan, who, upon realizing the presence of the two sisters, expressed his appreciation with a smile and a grateful nod.

After all the scandal was over, Binna and Cheong-ah went back to their classroom. However, Binna kept scolding her sister repeatedly, almost like cautioning her that if she found herself in any trouble, she would be held responsible for it entirely.

"I'm sorry i'm late" Eun-gyeol said swiftly as he sat down next to Binna, who was not genuinely annoyed or disturbed by him. However, Cheong-ah was

Cheong-ah shifted her position to face Binna who was seated in front of her, casting a contemptuous gaze to Eun-gyeol before firmly clasping Binna's wrist and pulling her along to an unfamiliar place, with Eun-gyeol trailing behind.

"Cheong-ah, Binna, don't be mad. Please?" Eun-gyeol earnestly attempted to convince them, positioning himself in front of both girls. He suggested "why don't you just hit me? Hit me as much as you're angry. Feel free to hit me until you feel better. Please forgive me just once. Please" However, as Cheong-ah attempted to pass by, Eun-gyeol intercepted their path once again, gently clutching Binna's arm to deter Cheong-ah from progressing further "Please. Just this once" he implored with a smile, tilting his head to the side

That gaze again...

Binna found it impossible to avert her inquisitive gaze from Eun-gyeol's eyes; inexplicably, every time she locked eyes with him, a peculiar sensation stirred in her stomach, as if there was a message that insisted this person was remarkably familiar to her in some way.

- -

Binna harbored no anger towards Eun-gyeol for striking Yi-chan; it was not the focus of her emotions. However, she couldn't deny that she held some concern for the troublesome Yi-chan. Nonetheless, her anger stemmed from the fact that, due to Eun-gyeol, Cheong-ah had become genuinely furious, saddened, and let down. Consequently, the moment Eun-gyeol entered Binna's room, she promptly hurled various items at him, while he defended himself by using a pillow Binna had thrown.

Binna casted an icy glare at him before exiting the room, symbolically showing her intense frustration. She forcefully shut the door, as if implying that she had valid reasons to be upset, despite being aware that Eun-gyeol was not at fault for any wrongdoing.

Feeling a deep sense of embarrassment and guilt, she halted in the middle of the hallway, reflecting on her actions towards the individual who had shown her such kindness.

She felt immense shame as she turned back and unlocked the door to her room, prepared to express her regret.

"Hey, I apologize..." Her words trailed off as she noticed Eun-gyeol engrossed in her beloved journal, eyes and mouth wide open

Binna showed irritation by furrowing her forehead, hastily taking back her cherished diary. Her face clearly indicated her feeling of being ashamed. Did he go through the most disgraceful sections? Did he peruse the pages that were brimming with Yi-chan's name?

"By chance... do you like Ha Yi-chan, Mom?" Eun-gyeol exclaimed in bewilderment, grappling to fully grasp the content his eyes had recently perused

Binna swiftly directed him towards the room's exit, physically blocking his way as Eun-gyeol persistently knocked on the door, desperately seeking entry. Nevertheless, Binna stayed in her position, clutching her diary tightly against her chest, relying on the wooden door to absorb the force of the boy's strikes.

What would occur in the event that Cheong-ah discovers she has developed emotions for Yi-chan?

She absolutely won't be able to discover it. Absolutely not, it's impossible.

- -

Binna was unsure about her next course of action; she had been experiencing a great deal of unease since yesterday, concerned about what Eun-gyeol might disclose to Cheong-ah. The possibility of Cheong-ah becoming angry troubled her. Overwhelmed, Binna grasped her head and nervously nibbled on the pencil in her hand, hoping it would provide some relief for the turmoil in her thoughts.

She failed to acknowledge Eun-gyeol's arrival when he took a seat next to her vacant desk. Not bothering to raise her head and glance at him, she only became aware of his presence when she noticed, peripherally, the carefully positioned small notebook on her desk that Eun-gyeol had left for her to peruse.

"I'll go to the teachers' office real quick. I think I'll get punished for what happened recently. Nothing will happen. Don't worry so much"

Binna carefully held the tiny notebook in her hands and quickly wrote something down before putting it back on its place, without even glancing at him.

"Don't report everything to me. It's annoying"

Eun-gyeol expressed his concern through a puzzled expression, as he felt a sense of sadness in his heart due to the unexpected shift in the girl's behavior towards him. Letting out a deep breath, he proceeded to jot down something different and gently placed the notebook on Binna's desk, then left without making a sound. Binna patiently awaited Eun-gyeol's departure in order to lay her gaze upon the compact notebook, yet her eyes grew wider as soon as she skimmed over those minuscule characters written in dark ink.

"I know why you're angry. I'll help you. So please stop being angry at me. I'm always on your side"

Binna's heart appeared to soften upon reading those words; inexplicably, she had placed her trust in him ever since he protected her from her stepmother. Nonetheless, these words of support left a sour aftertaste in her mouth.

She was genuinely feeling remorseful for mistreating him solely because her sister disapproved of his behavior. Eun-gyeol deserved a genuine apology, and she would undoubtedly provide it when the time was right. Demonstrating her appreciation, this was the only way she could express her gratitude.

Author's note;

I hope you enjoyed this chapter as I got engrossed in writing it. I would like to apologize beforehand for the delay in my updates here, as my current priority lies in working on "The Uncanny Counter" story 😭👍🏻

Fun-fact about Binna: Whenever Binna is in close proximity to Eun-gyeol, she experiences an unusual sensation which is not based on any romantic attraction. Rather, she perceives a peculiar connection between them, comparable to that of family. She is beginning to question whether Eun-gyeol could be from the future or hold some sort of similar designation.

See y'all in the next chapter! Exciting content is on its way! 💕
