vi. Momma's boy
♡˗ˏ✎*ೃ˚ :Chapter six: :;
"I got it from my mama"
Yi-chan visited Binna's house a few nights later, but she declined to meet him as she wanted to distance herself from him. Despite encountering him multiple times, she no longer desired any connection with him, particularly because she was aware of her growing affection towards him. She didn't want to pursue those feelings because she knew how much her sister admired him since the incident at their stepmother's party.
She cast a guilty gaze at him from her window, while he continued to stand in his position, gazing towards the mansion with anticipation, appearing both anxious and impatient as if anticipating Binna's appearance.
She placed her head on the window, experiencing a myriad of emotions coursing through her. The desire to embrace him and confirm his well-being overwhelmed her, but her pride hindered her from doing so, fueled further by the apprehension that she might indeed be developing feelings for him.
When the same boy from before unexpectedly entered her room, she was surprised and her eyes widened. She was able to notice his presence because she had seen his reflection on the window.
On the opposite end of the room, he stood, observing her with a slight grin, yet his eyes conveyed a profound affection. Who was this young man and for what reason was he gazing at her as though they had been acquainted for an extensive period?
"I'm sorry I made you wait" he started communicating with sign language "Should we have a seat first?" He settled into a chair positioned in front of her desk. Binna nervously nibbled her lip as she cautiously moved closer, but abruptly halted just a few inches away from the table with a sense of doubt
Binna observed the boy's eyes filled with sorrow when he looked at her, causing her to cautiously take cover behind a pillar while glancing at him. She couldn't comprehend why he seemed to empathize with her struggles.
"You heard from the chairman. Right? I'll be your tutor starting today. Aren't you curious what you'd be learning?" Binna observed his lip movements, even though she believed that her sister was the one who actually needed these lessons. However, she knew that nobody in the family was aware of her skill to read lips
He's being friendly to me. Why?
"It's sign language. You can create sounds with your hands" He explained, while demonstrating the signs with a sorrowful expression "My mom taught me when I was baby" he added, glancing at her with a hint of longing, before breaking down in tears right in front of her
He's crying. Why?
"But... you can't tell anyone else. It's a secret between you, me, your sister and Chairman" He explained, sniffling "So, should we get started, then? Have a seat here" He pointed to the seat in front of him with a faint smile
Binna cautiously sat down in front of him, considering that he had surely listened to her speaking just moments earlier, so why wasn't he inquiring about it? Maybe he hadn't actually heard her?
"Should I introduce myself first? My name is Ha Eun-gyeol. Ha" he eagerly started signing again "Eun-gyeol" he paused briefly as Binna signed, not recalling its meaning but only remembering that her mother had taught it to her and her sister when they were young
Eun-gyeol's tears prompted Binna's presence, causing her to feel helpless as she had never experienced comforting or being comforted before. However, she couldn't comprehend why her heart sank when she witnessed his tears, as if she had encountered him in some way before, even though she couldn't exactly discern the connection she felt towards him.
"Why are you crying?" Binna's sweet voice reached Eun-gyeol's ears who looked up in surprise, his eyes wide and his face as white as a sheet, as if he had just witnessed a ghost
"You... you... so I didn't hear wrong? Y-You can actually speak?" Eun-gyeol questioned in astonishment, his tears streaming down his face like cascading waterfalls
How is it possible that his mother could speak if all her life she always remained silent?
"How...?"
Binna smiled, this was the first time she felt confident talking to someone. For some reason this boy gave her a familiarity that made her feel like she had known him all her life.
"My world can be very silent, even my voice was silenced by Ji-mi, no one knows about this except those who live in this house" Binna began to explain, looking down at her trembling hands "So please don't say anything about this..."
Eun-gyeol gave a nod to show he understood, feeling the lump in his throat dissipate at last. Is it conceivable that they mistreat his mother in this way? Is it conceivable that they have stifled her delightful and lovely voice?
"I missed you so much, mom," Eun-gyeol said with a trembling voice, connecting glances with Binna's confused eyes. Binna couldn't understand why he referred to her as mom, but she found herself strangely not entirely opposed to it
Without warning, she rose from her chair and approached him, embracing him tightly in the hopes of soothing him. In response, he began to weep and eagerly returned the hug. He nestled his tear-stained face into his mother's abdomen while firmly clutching onto the girl's waist. With tenderness, she lovingly stroked the boy's gentle hair as he clung to her embrace.

The Yoon sisters were pleasantly surprised to learn that Eun-gyeol would be joining them at school. It turned out that their father had really hired him as a tutor, and none of them objected to the idea. They all appreciated Eun-gyeol's kindness from the start and welcomed him as their new friend.
Binna, with the boy's assistance, graciously exited the vehicle and accepted his help in carrying her art materials. The unexpected crowd that had formed around them made Cheong-ah feel slightly uneasy.
"I'll walk you to you classroom" Eun-gyeol gestured, and both sisters nodded in agreement, commencing their stroll
During their classes, Eun-gyeol took the initiative to instruct Binna and Cheong-ah in sign language, resulting in them mimicking his manual gestures. Their unwavering determination to acquire knowledge enabled them to aspire towards achieving their longstanding goal of effective communication.
Despite the unexpected murmurs and glances that were directed towards them, none of them actually paid any attention or expressed any concern.
"Someone wants to see me. I'll be right back. You don't mind, right?" Eun-gyeol mentioned this, and Binna nodded in agreement, granting him the freedom to leave. With a smile directed at her, the young man left the classroom
Despite Eun-gyeol's recent departure, students started abruptly leaving their classrooms due to an intriguing event unfolding outside the school premises. Driven by curiosity, Binna glanced through the window and observed Yi-chan and his band performing outdoors.
Binna quickly grabbed her sister's arm, observing the sparkle of admiration in her eyes. Perched atop a truck, Yi-chan was melodiously singing, and even though their auditory connection was severed, Binna could discern the heartfelt emotions through Yi-chan's facial expressions.
Out of nowhere, Yi-chan descended from the platform and positioned himself in front of Eun-gyeol, who wore a solemn expression. It appeared that they had engaged in a disagreement and Yi-chan was offering his apologies. However, Binna seemed perplexed when Eun-gyeol gazed back at her with an inscrutable expression on his face.
Binna observed Eun-gyeol with puzzlement when he instructed Yi-chan to terminate his relationship with Se-kyung, revealing that he, too, had feelings for Se-kyung. This unexpected admission of emotions left everyone stunned and astonished.
Out of nowhere, Yi-chan unexpectedly launched a punch towards Eun-gyeol. The two engaged in a frantic struggle, and before long, Eun-gyeol fought back with a punch of his own. Binna observed how Cheong-ah, visibly taken aback, anxiously shielded her mouth. Simultaneously, Cheong-ah directed a gaze filled with anger and bitterness towards Eun-gyeol as she noticed blood dripping from Yi-chan's nose.
After observing the situation, Binna became motionless, uncertain about the appropriate course of action. Should she interfere? Should she refrain from taking any action? She deeply longed for Se-kyung's presence to resolve the issues she had created.
Author's note;
I apologize for the delay in updating. I have been lacking inspiration and struggling to write a chapter 😭I hope that next week will be more productive 🥲👍🏻
Fun fact about Binna: Binna possesses knowledge of her sister's emotions towards Yi-chan due to a chance encounter where she unintentionally discovered her sister's diary. Cheong-ah remains unaware of this fact, as Binna is resolute in her decision to distance herself and allow them to pursue their relationship.
See y'all in the next chapter! 💕
