chapter fifteen

My eyes flutter open and I gaze out of the window to notice that it's morning.

I didn't have a nightmare today. Well, this is new. Maybe I can sleep peacefully even when I'm alone.

Standing up happily, I start to make my way to the bathroom. On my way there, I sense something weird and walk backwards to the room I slept in.

There, on my couch, lays a sleeping Yoongi.

I startle and let out a scream, but put a hand on top of my mouth almost instantly.

Never wake up Yoongi, you won't see tomorrow's light.

I remember Taehyung's words he once told me during practice.

Well, you know what, I don't care. He's the one who sneaked into my room and slept here without me knowing.

"Hyung," I speak up while shaking him, "wake up."

"Leave me the fuck alone," he mumbles and turns around on his right side.

What the hell.

"Dammit, wake up!" I raise my voice and shake him rougher.

Suddenly, he throws a pillow at me. I gasp and swiftly dodge it. "Did you just attack me?!"

"What are you even doing here?"

I frown. "Isn't this my room?"

Sighing, Yoongi rubs his eyes, but then sits up. He sends me an annoyed expression.

"We noticed that you sneaked out and I came after you to pick a fight, but I saw that you were sleeping so I just slept here as well," he shrugs.

"Wait," I hold my hand up, "did you come just a few minutes after dinner?"

He nods his head. "Yeah."

My lips turn downwards as I discover that I had no nightmare because someone was in the room. Guess you can't fix sleeping problems that easily.

"What time is it exactly?" I ask him.

"You really need a cellphone, Ahri," he pulls his phone out, "we have 5:37 a.m. Practice starts in around fifteen minutes."

"Okay, I'll get ready then."

After doing my everyday routine, I enter the kitchen to eat something really quick. Before deciding what to eat, I see a bowl with cereals and milk and a small note beside it on the small table.

'Eat this. Don't starve your dumbass.'

I read the piece of paper and chuckle while thinking of Yoongi's caring but also rude behavior.

Finishing the bowl quickly, I place it in the sink and take my jacket to wait for the boys outside.

Lazily standing in the hall, I hear the door creaking open and my other members step out and greet me.

Greeting them back with a faint smile, we are quick to make our way to the building.

I hope we'll leave early today because I don't know what Jaehyun will do to me otherwise. He can't even call me and ask for the matter because I don't have a phone.

A man drives us to the building we were at yesterday and we enter the house to get ready for day two of the shooting for the music video.

The staff fixes all of our outfits, hair, and make-up and we soon start with the shoot all over again.

This time though, I don't stutter around my verse because I know that the boys are encouraging me and have my back all the time.

We don't know each other for a long time and I know that they feel a little weirded out because they have a female member in their group, but they're still always so respectful and kind towards me, which I'm really grateful of.

While the solo shoots of some other members are being done, I lay down on an old couch to rest a little.

My body has been through so many changes these past few weeks.

While I was living in Daegu, I was always in my room sleeping. Yes, I'm still a very lazy person, but I feel like this whole idol thing squeezes my energy out of my body and pulls the best of it.

I'm generally just so tired during this time and I sure as hell know that the boys agree with that statement.

Peacefully laying on the comfortable couch, I drift away to take a nice nap.

"Wake Ahri up, we need to do the end where we are as a whole group." Seokjin sends the demand to Jeongguk as he drinks water from a bottle.

"Why me?" Jeongguk asks, pointing at himself, a little scared.

"Just do it, she won't bite you," the oldest rolls his eyes.

"Not until you want to," Taehyung mumbles while passing by, winking and sending Jeongguk the look.

The youngest eyes widen and his cheeks paint into a deep shade of red. "H-Hyung, I'm scared," he mumbles, tugging on Jin's shirt.

Seokjin starts to laugh hysterically. "Scared of Ahri?" He wipes his happy tears away.

Jeongguk nods quickly, making his member laugh even more. "Yona is as soft as a marshmallow, she won't do nothing."

"Did you hear how she raps? She could kill me verbally!" The male maknae reasons.

"If she would've killed someone it would've been Yoongi and he's just fine," Jin shrugs his shoulders and leaves immediately to end the discussion.

Jeongguk inhales a deep breath. I can do this, he encourages himself.

Hesitatingly walking towards his other maknae, he whispers, "Ahri."

Since his call for her name was as loud as the squeak of a mouse, she doesn't budge.

"Ahri, wake up," he mumbles in a louder tone.

After discovering that she doesn't wake up, Jeongguk lightly pokes her shoulder.

Jimin watches him curiously and tries to hide his laughter. He quickly goes beside Jeongguk and shakes Ahri awake.

The female maknae rapidly stands up and faintly rubs her tired eyes. "Sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleep," she mumbles and exhaustedly treks to the set.

"This is how you wake up girls," Jimin states cockily while crossing his arms sassily.

"As if girls would want you," Jeongguk roasts his older member, whose face grows red in embarrassment.

Today, the group is released earlier and they quickly head home. Well, some of them go home to rest.

Ahri is quick to rush into the cafe since she can still work for a few hours.

Sweating heavily, she opens the door and hastily runs behind the counter to put her apron on.

"Where were you?"

Her eyes widen as she hears Jaehyun's voice behind her in an annoyed tone.

Debating if she should turn around or stay glued to the floor like a statue, Jaehyun strides behind her and turns her around by her arm.

Pupils enlarging, she can't believe what she's seeing.

He keeps on scolding her but she can't hear him since she's occupied with staring at him intensely. His now light brown hair more likely.

"Are you even listening?" He flicks her forehead, ripping Ahri from her thoughts.

"I'll plan the funeral for your once black hair," she blurts out.

"What are you even saying, you German puzzle?" He asks her while furrowing his eyebrows.

"German puzzle? Where do you even—" she cuts herself off and anger builds in her system slowly.

Stomping towards her new co-worker, she grabs him by his collar and drags him to the empty kitchen, Jaehyun following hot on her heels.

Closing the door so no one can hear them, she takes in a deep breath, turns around and stares at Seojun with so much fire in her eyes that he hasn't seen in a long time.

"Why the hell did Jaehyun call me a German puzzle?" She raises her voice while breathing in and out, trying to control her fierce energy.

Seojun simply gazes at the girl nonchalantly, which seems to piss her off even more.

"Answer me!" She yells at him, taking many strides towards him.

He balls his hands into fists, clenching his jaw tightly. "I told him that you used to live in Germany, and? Why are you so fucking pressed that someone knows about your damn past?" He raises his voice, still trying to control himself as well.

"How many fucking times do I have to tell you to shut your goddamn mouth about me and my past!" They are dangerously near each other, chests almost touching.

One thing both of them have in common is that they need to have control of their anger almost all the time.

"You are no one to tell me what to do," he bellows, "weren't you the one who listened to my orders while we were rapping underground, Arquero?"

Her mouth's wide agape as she glares at him shockingly. Ahri's heart skips a beat while she's frozen on the floor with her stiffened posture.

Silence fills the room as everyone stares at Seojun who just revealed one of Ahri's biggest regrets of her past.

"You did what, Ahri?"

Yona's shock seems to grow even more when she hears a new but familiar voice behind her.

Turning around rapidly, she sees her fellow group-member Jung Hoseok standing in the doorway.

"You were rapping underground?" He asks in disbelief, eyes wide.
