"New Girl"

-THE NEXT FEW WEEKS PASSED BY QUICKLY AND IT WAS FINALLY SEPTEMBER FIRST. Adhara rushed to the Slytherin compartments after giving her girlfriend a kiss, wanting to get away from the Gryffindors as quickly as possible, since she was already having a headache.

She slammed open the compartment door. Pansy and Draco, who were in a conversation, stopped immediately. "Hi." Adhara smirked.

Draco stood up and pulled her in a bone-crushing hug. "I missed you, Ara."

"Me, too." Adhara mumbled as they pulled away and hugged Pansy.

"How was your summer?" Pansy asked her as they sat back down.

"Pleasant." Adhara replied, pulling her hair into an elegant bun. A few minutes later, Blaise sat down in the compartment and started getting in a conversation with Draco and Pansy, while Adhara pulled out a book and started reading.

Pansy looked at the watch on her wrist and stood up, "C'mon, Ara. We better get changed, we're almost there."

Adhara looked up from her book and nodded, both of them pulling out their school uniform from their trunks and walking out of the compartment, leaving the boys to get changed as well.

When they finally reached the bathroom, they each went to a different stall and got changed. They stepped out when they were done and started talking while looking at their reflection in the mirrors.

"I heard a transfer student is coming from Ilvermorny." Pansy stated as she braided her hair. "Think she's going to be cute?"

Adhara snorted. "Maybe we should find you someone, Pans."

Pansy's smile faded as she looked at her bestfriend's reflection, who was too busy with her own hair to notice, "I don't want just anyone." She mumbled, sighing when Adhara didn't hear her.

"Let's go back. We're ready." Adhara said.

They walked to the door, but stopped when it opened and in came a blonde girl. "Oh, I'm sorry-"

"It's alright." Pansy cut her off, "Are you the transfer student?"

The girl nodded, but frowned in confusion, "How did you know?"

"News spread fast around here."

"Oh." The girl said and gave her a hand to shake, "I'm Alyssa Nott."

"Nott?" Adhara spoke up, "As in related to Theodore Nott?"

Alyssa's eyes widened slightly at the beautiful girl. She snapped out of it and replied, "We're cousins, but we've never met since my parents and I lived in America up until now."

Adhara hummed. "Adhara Black-Malfoy, a pleasure to meet you." She introduced herself.

"Likewise." Alyssa said, looking her up and down once, "Perhaps you could show me around the school later on? I am new, after all."

Adhara let out a half chuckle, "I'd love to, but I'm afraid I've got plans with my girlfriend soon. Pansy, however, would love to show you around, I'm sure."

Alyssa's shoulders slumped, mostly at the 'girlfriend' part, "Very well. I'll be looking forward to it if you're up to it, Pansy?"

Pansy smiled, but there was a slight frown on her face. "Of course."

"She's very pretty." mused Blaise as Alyssa Nott sat down on the stool and was getting sorted.

Pansy and Adhara made eye contact, both of them rolling their eyes simultaneously, knowing how Blaise was.

"SLYTHERIN!" The hat shouted, making every Slytherin clap politely.

Alyssa smiled slightly and sat next to Pansy. "From what I've seen, it seems like the red table doesn't like me very much." She said, looking at the Gryffindor table.

Pansy chuckled, "Don't take it to heart. Gryffindors and Slytherins have been at each other's throats for centuries."

"Both of the ways you're thinking of." Draco joined in, blushing slightly when Harry winked at him from the other side of the hall.

"It seems like it." mused Alyssa, making eye contact with a girl from the Gryffindor table, who was looking at her calculatedly. "Who is she?"

"That's Adhara's girlfriend." Pansy answered as Adhara was too busy talking with Blaise.

Alyssa hummed, still not breaking eye contact with the girl, "And how long have they been together?"

Pansy looked thoughtful. "Nine Months." She replied, not thinking too much about why the girl was asking those questions.

"Hopefully it'll stop right there." murmured Alyssa, glad that nobody heard her. Somehow, she had quickly taken a liking to Adhara for some reason.

"Looks like you're sharing a dorm with us." Pansy pointed out as they walked into their dorm.

Alyssa smiled as she started unpacking, "That's good. I only know you guys, anyway."

Adhara, who had been quiet since the feast, finally spoke up, "I'm going out." She said and walked to the door, wearing black jeans, a hoodie, and a leather jacket on top.

Pansy gave her a confused look, "But it's almost curfew."

Adhara shrugged carelessly. "So? I'll be fine." She replied and walked out of the room.

Adhara pulled out a cigarette, a habit she picked up in the summer from Sirius, and walked to the edge of the astronomy tower, looking at the view.

"Who is she?" A voice said behind her, making her turn around.

"It's curfew, love. You shouldn't be out here-"

"Neither should you." Hermione cut her off, "So, who is she?"

Adhara exhaled the smoke and threw her cigarette off of the tower, watching it fall as she answered, "Dunno. She used to be a student at Ilvermorny, and had been living in America since she could remember. That's all I know."

"You weren't talking to her at the feast. You've met her before?"

"On the train, I did." Her girlfriend replied and held her waist. "What's with all these questions?"

Hermione shrugged, "Nothing. I just have a.. bad feeling about her."

Adhara frowned. "I'm sure it's nothing, my love." She said and kissed her forehead.
