"Looking For Jobs"
-WHEN THE SIBLINGS WERE APPARATED BACK HOME, ADHARA IMMEDIATELY RUSHED OVER TO HER MOTHER. "Mum," she said, giving her a hug. Narcissa hugged back immediately, her smile fading when she noticed her daughter's look. "What's wrong, darling?"
"Nothing." Adhara shook her head, pulling away and looking around.
It seemed like they were in Narcissa's painting room. Narcissa had always loved painting, claiming that it relaxed her and eased her mind, so it was no surprise that she had a room for it.
"Hey," Narcissa put her hands on her daughter's shoulders, making her look back at her. "I'm your mother, Ara. I know when something's wrong."
"I don't get it." admitted her daughter finally. "I broke up with her so she could learn her worth and focus on herself, while I try to fix myself so I could be better for her in the future. Have I done something wrong?"
"Alot of things, darling. Cheating? Being with the girl she doesn't want you to be with?" sighed Narcissa. "Maybe she found her worth and is moving on, sweetheart. And maybe.. maybe you should do that too."
"Would that make her happy?"
Her mother frowned in thought. "It depends."
Adhara sighed, but didn't reply, and looked around the room again. Pointing to one of the paintings, she said, "That's beautiful." in awe.
Narcissa beamed at the compliment. "Come in." She said when someone knocked on the door.
Lucius came in, giving his wife a kiss on the cheek, and his daughter a hug. "I was thinking," he started when they pulled away. "You and Draco are graduating soon and will need jobs. Would you like to come to the Ministry with us to see those jobs?"
Adhara looked thoughtful. "I don't even know what I want to do." She admitted, but nodded. "So, I guess going to the Ministry would help."
Stepping out of the fireplace after using the floo system to get to the Ministry of Magic, Adhara wiped off the dust from the black suit she was wearing.
"Ready?" asked Lucius, looking at the two.
Draco nodded, also dusting off his suit. "Where to first, father?"
"Your choice, of course," shrugged their father as if it was obvious. "Curse breakers, Auror department—"
"Auror," said Adhara immediately.
Draco frowned and looked at her in shock. "I thought you hated that?"
His sister tensed, but didn't reply.
Lucius nodded, not questioning it. "Very well. Let's go visit the Auror department first."
"That's Mad-Eye Moody," whispered Adhara in awe when they reached the Auror department.
Draco looked extremely confused. "Since when have you even cared about Aurors?"
"I like what they do, alright?"
"What? Killing and catching bad guys? Ara, are you sure that's good for you?" asked her brother worriedly.
"I was pretty damn great at it last time." scoffed the girl, rolling her eyes when he gave her an apologetic look.
"So, you want to be an auror, kid?" asked Mad-Eye as he reached the siblings.
"Depends. Do I get to choose my partner?" Adhara straightened.
"No."
"Didn't expect to," mumbled Adhara bitterly.
"First thing you've got to keep in mind, kid, is constant vigilance-!"
"—that seems about it," said Lucius a few hours later after going through every department of the Ministry.
Draco, panting, huffed. "You don't say, father?!" He asked sarcastically, earning a small glare.
"I really hope you're not choosing a job that consists of running." said his sister with a look.
"That was damn harsh, Ara." Draco continued panting. "Damn harsh."
"Well—" Adhara suddenly stopped, noticing somebody.
Draco turned around, lips parting. "Father, we should go —" he tried, looking around, only now noticing their father being busy talking with the Minister.
"It's alright," said Adhara, not looking away from Sirius Black, who looked like he had just came back from an Auror mission. "He's not even noticing me. Nothing will happen."
"Addie," said a voice behind them.
"Spoke too soon," mumbled Draco, turning around.
James Potter didn't even glance at Draco, not looking away from Adhara. "How are you doing?"
"Great," nodded the girl, pointing to his messy hair. "Mission?"
The man nodded. "Are you thinking of visiting us anytime soon?"
Adhara tensed. "No."
James' smile faded immediately. "As you wish."
"Addie," said another voice suddenly.
"Fuck." cursed the Malfoy siblings simultaneously.
