before I actually start... let me clarify some stuff

+ I was first a jpop fan before a kpop stan... tho I am no expert at both stuff, but I can assure some insights of being both a jpop & kpop stan.

+ this chapter isn't gonna be purely negative,, most will be ideas and possibly some theories(?) & expectations,, But yes, expect me occasionally getting triggered at some point in this discussion.

+ I only knew about the PRODUCE series, but I'm not an avid fan(but I do wanna binge watch em)... I only watch the performances/auditions but I don't watch the actual shows(where they plan/practice/pranks etc),, I did watch a few on PRODUCE 48 mostly cuz AKB & HKT ( 48Gs in general ) are a part of it XD... but don't get me wrong I equally love all of them and is proud of IZ*ONE and hope for the other contestants a bright future ahead.

now for the actual rants/opinions/ideas—

#1 : I HOPE THEY PERFORM ANY OF THESE SONGS :

I mean it doesn't exactly have to be these songs... Just do any song from my boys ( MADKID, SUPER DRAGON & ONE N' ONLY ) and I'll be so happy uwu

tho coming from a originally Korean program... they'll probably have the trainees do kpop group japanese debuts.

#2 : I'M EXPECTING GREAT RAPPING FROM THE TRAINEES

hear me out... in my opinion, Japan has one of the best rappers whether they be in a group or solo artists, their rapping was something I actually became obsessed of at some point in my life... their rap style was just so unique to me,,

#3 : TALENT < VISUALS

and I really hope this doesn't happen... because I am not sure whether this was a 'thing' in the previous PRODUCE shows ( trainees being chosen because of looks and not their talent. ) so if ever... I really hope this isn't the case for PRODUCE JAPAN

: but like Knetz are already judging them trainees by visuals, and yes I'm very triggered.

#3 : I DONT WANT ANY IGNORANT KPOP FANS NOR IMMATURE JPOP FANS

a message to all kpop fans who's gonna watch PRODUCE JAPAN... please don't compare kpop & jpop trainees... be aware that unlike korea, japan does not make trainees go for intense training before debut. Japan let's their trainees debut and learn during the process.

I've seen this opinion from a kpop fan saying how jpop dances aren't that hard as kpop, and visuals aren't that great in jpop, thus he/she concludes that kpop is better than jpop.

and I just wanna say to that person that unlike kpop, jpop doesn't do hard dances because they do everything live, no lipsyncing is involved. also, they don't have beauty standards in japan, as long as you can smile and entertain/make people happy you are qualified to be an idol.

and a message for jpop fans... don't talk trash about kpop. Don't claim jpop is superior to kpop. their are so much fanwars occurring in every jpop vid in YouTube and it's sickening.

I was about to finish my last rant which was #4... But this popped up, and I can't just ignore it

this is why it took me a while before I started to like kpop again...

( I took that screenshot from an article about PRODUCE JAPAN and those are the criticisms it got... and guess what.. check #3 please :3 )

So going back, yep, if you know me, I've mentioned SJ being my first kpop love, alongside it was my love for jpop,, and when I became aware of criticism from people about jpop and praising kpop, because of VISUALS>TALENT... I'm not saying K-pop idols aren't talented, what I'm saying is most people base everything from looks that even if they don't do anything they'll be praised.

number 3 statement by knets contradicts number 13's like legit please pay attention to the staements : look at the low standards of japan & this is why kpop can promote japan.. So are they saying kpop is low standard too that's why it's doing well in japan :V honestly speaking, Japan can do well internationally too if they wanted, but they prefer to keep their fame in Japan, since they technically earn lots of money in the Japanese market alone.... Like lol isn't it weirder that kpop is going for the Japanese market,, if they can already do well in Korea, no need to go for the Japanese market. The Korean market is rigged, they only care about the looks, unique groups don't get support unlike in Japan,, no matter how weird you'll get, you'll still be loved. ( Sorry this is kinda out of context sksks )

same goes for number 4 & 8

number 5 is clearly dumb
Japanese idols don't wear much makeup, you should've known that or at least noticed it by watching the performance and pr... they may even just have put powder on and went on stage. you should even be proud of them, at least they have the guts not to wear much makeup and perform on stage... some people wouldn't even leave their houses without makeup, that's even worse.

number 6, you're wrong, they're all beautiful... you're attitude on the other hand isn't.

Number 9 you should know, Japan doesn't believe in the term LOOKISM ... unlike how Korea has been so far
LOOKISM, something I wish was never created. Because of this, Koreans are somewhat mandatory to look pretty or appealing when facing the public. Why can't we all just accept how we look and not try to look even more beautiful than you already are.. beauty standards is just some shit society created to make people feel better about themselves, and others to feel bad about themselves.

the other numbers I didn't mention, if you like the first trainee,then just say so... and shut up, don't talk shit about the others :)

This is not to hate on Korea, but to bring awareness to them... that it ain't all about beauty, to be an idol is to bring a smile on your listener's faces, and not just to look good and making performance just an extra :/
