Chapter 36 ~ Peter
"Hey Peter." Ned said to his best friend when he got closer towards their lockers. "Hey Ned." Peter replied as he was placing some of his things inside of his locker before closing it. "Have you seen Y/n?" Ned asked him and Peter shook his head. "I haven't." He replied. He didn't want to worry Ned by telling him you were taken so he didn't say anything about your whereabouts. "Strange. She's usually here bright and early." Ned said with a look on his face as he was trying to think but then the bell rang and they had to go.

It was third period and Peter couldn't get off of his mind of where you could possibly be. He was still waiting on a message or anything at this point from Wade, but still haven't received anything. Maybe he did find a lead and just didn't want to have to boy in harms way. Peter thought of that possible outcome but he wasn't aware of how much he had been thinking about it till the teacher called on him. "Peter? Mind telling me the answer to this question?" Peter looked up at the board and saw the question said What does the D in D-Day stand for? That's when he gave his reply.
"The D in D-Day doesn't stand for anything." He told the teacher and the teacher nodded his head. "You are correct Peter." The teacher replied before calling on another student. "Hey, Peter. Are you doing alright?" Ned asked him and all Peter said was yeah. Ned didn't believe him that much but let it slide that one time. He would most likely bother him about it later on during lunch. There was only 5 minutes left of class and all he had to do was remain calm. There was nothing he needed to be so worried about right? .....right? He then thought of the things of whoever had you might've been doing to you. All of the harmful things. His thoughts were once again broken when the bell rang.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Ned asked again. "Yes, Ned." Peter replied. "Then why do I find you spacing out here and there during class?" Ned added. "I'm just-... tired Ned. I didn't get much sleep last night." He told his best friend and that's when Ned asked another question. "Is it because of the Spider-Ma-" he didn't even get to finish when Peter got called down to the office. "Are you in trouble?" Ned asked yet another question. "I don't believe so. I didn't do anything." Peter answered before standing up, grabbing his belongings and headed out of the cafeteria.
The halls were empty. It was till a student came out of a classroom in a hurry to make it to another because they were late. Getting closer and closer to the office, he started to hear voices; and it wasn't just the principal's voice either. There could've been about two others inside, but he didn't know for sure and wouldn't know till he went inside. Hesitant at first, he didn't even grab the doorknob when a voice spoke out. "You may enter Peter." It was a man's voice but he didn't recognize it because it didn't sound anything like the principal.
Pushing past his hesitation, he had to enter. His name was mentioned when he was right there at the door. There was no turning back now. Opening the door and going in, he spotted a woman with silver grey like hair and a man in a wheelchair. He must've been the one who called me... Peter thought and it was answered by the same man speaking to him directly without moving his lips, but with his mind. Yes Peter. I am the one who called out a second ago. The teen's eyes widened slightly.
"Peter, this man said he needed to speak with you in private so I'll let you all too it." Was all that the principal had said before leaving his office to do some work around the school. "Take a seat, please." The man that was just spoke into Peter's head had told him. Peter looked between the two before sitting down across from them. "I'm Professor Charles Xavier and this is Storm. We've come to inform you on some news." He started to say and this perked up the boy's interest.
"We've learned that your friends with Y/n, correct?" He asked and Peter nodded. "You are aware of her abilities?" He added and Peter nodded again. Xavier shared a look with Storm before lookin back at Peter. "Your help may be essential. Are you aware of a man named Wade?" He asked after telling Peter. "Yeah. He's like Y/n's best friend right? Or a close friend? Talks a lot and his lang-" Peter started to say before Xavier stopped him; only confirming his thoughts. "An ally..." he paused. " a... friend, told me about you." He finished.
With an eyebrow raised, Peter looked at the both of them. "Do you know Logan?" Storm finally spoke up and Peter nodded. "The wolverine. Y/n's guardian basically." He told them and it was their turn to nod. "He was the person to reach out and tell us about you." Xavier mentioned. "We tried contacting Wade and I'm sure you have tried too. He's been captured so don't expect anything from him anytime soon." Storm stated before adding. "However, we have this for you. Follow precisely on what it says and you should be able to get an answer or at least something."
Handing him a box, he took it and gave it a once look over before placing his attention back on the two people in front of him. "What if I need to contact both of you? Or.. at least one of you?" Peter asked and Xavier handed him a card that had his contact info on it. "We must go. We have other business to attend to." Xavier said before telling Peter "I hope you have a good rest of your day. Keep up the good work and be sure to do as that box instructs." Peter nodded before they left them left himself.
After school was over, Peter was walking out of school and got at a good enough distance to take a look at the box. Opening it, he found a note. There were 3 bullet points.
• Make sure you're at a secure area and not exposed to potential ears that might be listening.
That was the first thing he had to do so he only knew one place that would be; besides the Stark tower. His room. So that's exactly where he went. Aunt May wasn't home at the moment and still at work by the time he had gotten there. Quickly rushing over to his room, he read the note to see the last two instructions.
• Call (894) *** - ****
• Burn the phone after disposing it.
Burn the phone?! Peter thought to himself but then figured, maybe there was a specific reason why it had to be burnt. Looking back in the box, he found a black phone. There was no lock or anything on it really. Opening it, he went over to the keypad and typed in the number. It rang a few times before someone picked up. The voice was all too familiar and caused Peter to speak out. "Logan?"
