You could see a tear falling from Y/N's eye, deep inside she was still there, locked, without means to escape. She standed her hand on your direction, about to shoot, when something catched you, flying away from there.

-You owe me one Rogers.-It was tony, his suit was completely smashed, but, like a miracle, still working.

-Thanks.-You smiled at your friend just injured as you were.-We need to help her. I think ophelia is taking control of her mind with key words. Just like they used to do with Buck.

-No shit Sherlock, of course it is, they're Hydra. We need to bring all the team together, let's go.

Wanda's POV

You and Vision had arrived in the battle, so chaotic that took your breath away, by your side there was Manuel holding Sarah in his arms, with her head buried on his chest to don't look at the explosions.

-There you are!-Sam came spotting you.

-So you're still mad or...-Peter asked hesitant.

-I'm sorry.-You spoke in a low tone.- I think I went too far.

-Forget it, now we are all here and that's what matters.-Thor said while holding his brother by the collar of his suit. -Brother stop fighting!

-Never!-He growled. They seemed like two childs arguing.

-Where is Y/N?-You asked.

-WHAT THE HELL WANDA?!-Natasha yelled at you- Why you brought citizens to the battlefield?!! A child?!

-These are Y/N's friends, they might help her see what she's doing it's wrong.

-She already knows it's wrong.-Steve came with Tony in front of everybody.-But Ophelia took control over her mind.

-Ophelia?-You asked.

-Long story.-Tony replied.- Anyways, can you fix her head?

-Maybe, I need to get closer to her to try it.

-Okay, let's do it.-Bucky said walking ahead.

Bucky's  POV

Sam came by your side as you walked towards Y/N, you still couldn't believe at  what was happening, how she was being manipulated by Hydra, you felt angry, about to kill that lady, you felt broken by what they were doing to her, she didn't deserve that, you wanted her to only be happy and safe.

Sam knocked more robots as the team advanced behind you, Steve and Tony unable to fight since they were too hurt from their previous confronts, thankfully the S.H.I.E.L.D forces were helping on other parts of the city.

-Y/N!-You shouted and she looked at you with her brighg eyes- DON'T LISTEN TO HER! YOU'RE NOT A WEAPON!

-Oh if it isn't the Winter Soldier...Destroy him Kontrol.-Ophelia commanded.

Y/N looked at you for a solid second, you almost begging for her to don't do that, even though it was no use, she standed her arms and a wave of energy came against you and Sam, he tried to blocke the impact with his wings standing in frong of both o you, it still hit you two, but in a weaker way.

-Shit, she's wrong, what do we do?-He asked getting up and adjusting his equipment.

-Make her remember.-You said and walked towards Y/N again.- You are not like this and you know that Y/N.

-Fool.-Ophelia shouted.- Kontrol kill him already.

-You are the girl I catched putting decorations and falling from the stairs.-You could remember everything like it was yesterday- The sweet girl who saw the best in me.

Y/N didn't obey Ophelia's order, she seemed just paralyzed, like a fight inside of her happened.

-Kontrol i said KILL HIM.-She persisted.

-Y/N you are our friend.-Sam shouted- We were jerks with you? Hell yeah, and we are sorry about that. But this woman is not ypur friend. She's just messing with your head.

-What? Aren't you going to attack?!-Madam Hydra asked impatient but her toy didn't reply.- Oh great. Where is that "Loki" then?

Thor's POV

A few meters behind Bucky and Sam was your group, Natasha and Sharon were keeping Steve and Tony safe, while Wanda and Vision protected the baker and his brother. Spider boy, Hulk and Hawkeye were attacking at the enemies who got closer and you were holding your brother, who was extremely annoyed.

-If you just helped us it would be a lot easier.-You told him.

-I'm never helping you.-He retorted.

-But you wanted to help her.-When you said those words he stayed in silence.

-I...Just wanted to take control of Midgard.-He said but you could tell he was lying by the look in his eyes.

-Do you know what's happening right now? Y/N is being mind controlled by some sort of lady. Did you know that?

-Is she?

-Uhum. This Hydra thing is dangerous. They were manipualting both of you all the time.

Loki seemed ashamed, maube the idea of the Grand God Of Mischief And Lies being tricked didn't please him, but he seemed more bothered by the current situation with Y/N.

-We just want to help her.-You said.

-You lied to her.-That seemed to be not just for her  but for him too.

-It was a mistake.-You stopped him and looked jnto his eyes.- Let us fix that. Help us fix that.

The serious and sarcastic expression of your brother was gone, it gave space to a softer and vulnerable one.

-Alright. But I'm not part of your pathetic team.-He looked away.

-Oh great brother!-You hugged him and for a solid second he didn't fight back.

-Look out!-He made you duck just before a robot shot.

You got up again and looked at him making a goofy and grateful smile like "I know that you always cared", and he rolled his eyes, giving a light smirk.

Natasha's POV

-Come on, come on-You recharged your gun fastly.

Robots flied arrpund you, Sharon was managing to shot at them, while Steve held his shielf close to keel him and Tony safe.

-Shit!-Sharon swore as one of the enemies throwed her again in the ground.

You neeeded to get rid of them. "Breathe Natasha, keep your cool, just see the target" you told yourself while taking deep breaths.

But just before you could hit the robot he attacked you. Now at the ground, he was about to fire one last time, ending your life.

-HULK SMASH!-The green guy came and throwrd the robot on the ground, its pieces rolling over the concrete.

After ending the enemy his eyes met yours, if there was something that didn't get turned into a beast was Bruce's eyes. Soft and sweet, a little afraid but caring.

-Thanks big guy.-You smiled and the Hulk tried, in his own way, to do the same. You realized how much you missed him.-Let's get a beer after all this shit Banner. You pay.

You got up, helped Sharon and prepared your guns.

-Okay who's next?

Vision's POV.

A building was about to fall, luckily, Wanda used her powers to contain it for a few seconds, as the people inside it could have enough time to escape.

Manuel and Sarah continued walking with you, scared but trusting you both.

-Wanda darling!-You warned.

A robot was about to attack her when you catched her on your arms mlments before it, your faces just a few inches apart.

-Have I told you you're stunning?-You smiled at her.

-Oh Vis!-She chuckled and kissed the tip of your nose.

-Um...I don't want to interrupt-Manuel said embarrassed- But there are still robots after you.

-Oh right, pardon me.-You said putting Wanda standing on the ground, leaving to fly and destroy the robots.

You grabbed at least 5 of them, passing through builiding walls destroying the creatures, then got back triumphant.

-Done.

-Isn't he charming?-Wanda made a cute face and asked Manuel.

-...Yes....adorable.

Peter's POV

-Mr.Hawkeye watch out!-You warned and he ahot his arrow just in time.-Wow that was amazing.

-Thanks kid.-He half smiled.-Shouldn't you be in school right now?

-School in the middle of an apocalypse?-You asked and he lifted his shoulders.-Where's Mr.Stark?

-Still with Natasha and Sharon up ahead. We need to back them up here.-He shot once again hitting right at an enemy's head.- You think you can handle it?-He made a challenge face.

-Don't underestimate me-You swung through the city hitting multiple targets at once-WOOHOOO!

-Yeah, he has the Stark spirit.

Bucky's POV

Y/N continued attacking in your direction, it was quite hard to get closer to her, sometimes whrn you talked about something of the past her attacks were weaker, like she was tryinh to fight against the Hydra control, but it still wasn't enough.

-What if we say your key words?-Sam suggested.

-What? Mine?!-You asked annoyed, that was such a stupid suggestion.

-Steve said she was activated by words.

-Her specific words not mine idiot.

-Oh okay genious! So do you know what her key words are?

-No!

-Then what the hell do you want me to do?! Why didn't you get the words with Steve??

-I was opening way!

-So what now? Steve's back there! We can't reach him! Great job!

-Oh Shut up, I've been helping us here.

Before you could finish the sentence Y/N attacked again, throwing you all from a bug distance, landing next to the group you were supposed to protect.

-It seems your plan is not working.-Sharon stated laughing at you both oj the ground.

-If only someone had asked the key words!-Sam complained.

-Stop fighting you both. Wich key words?-Natasha spoke.

-The ones Steve said activated Y/N as Kontrol, do you know what they were Steve?-You asked your friend.

-Uh...no?-He said and you facepalmed- It was on another language! Come on!

-What the hell are we supposed to do now...-Stark sighed.

-Lead Wanda to Y/N with her family, it's our best chance.-You said- It looks like insidd Y/N can still hear us, she listened to me and slowed the attacks for a moment.

-Emotions can stop her? Looks like a children's cartoon ending.-Sharon rolled her eyes unimpressed.

-No, not like that.-Tony stated- The memories can start her brain to remember and associate them, a way to bring her person back. Memories form an individual, when she's not herself she can't remember them. We need to make her remember to bring her back.

-Alright, where's Wanda now?-You asked.

Loki's POV

-On your right-You warned your brother just in time and he throwed the Mjolnir smashing the enemy.

-On your left-He warned back and you stabbed the adversary.

-You two make a great team.-The kid dressed in red said.

Thor gave a smile at you, wich you shaked your head to the side like a way to say "yeah whatever", but deep inside you felt quite glad, you finally saw you two having, even in an weird way, som sort of iguality.

The group with the midgardians who had some sort of conexion with Y/N mixed with yours, the man with a child didn't seem pleased to have you arround, they seemed in fact scared.

-Um...May I ask something?-You told him.

-Y-Yes.-He stuttered.

-What is your relationship with Y/N?

He looked at you quite confused, not just with the question but by the fact that you knew her.

-She's my best friend...she's like family to me and Sarah.-He showed the child in his arms, more scared than him.-And who are you...?

-I'm....uh...-At that exact moment you realized didn't know what you were for her.- A friend...

-You...dated her right?-He gave a little smile wich after turned into a laugh by the blush on your cheeks.-Could've guessed, you're her type.

He continued walking like nothing happened, now more relaxed in your presence, you couldn't help but give a little smile happy by his comment "her type".

-Did she say something else about me???-You rushed after him.

Wanda's POV

Your group met the one with Steve and Nat, confused you asked them:

-Why are you all here? Weren't you supposed to be opening way to Y/N?

-We were, but it didn't work. Plan B.-Tony summed the situation.-We need to bring Sarah and Manuel to Y/N.

-Is it safe?-Peter asked.-She didn't seem to have changed.

-I understand what he's saying-Loki stated- I guess activating her memories is the only chance we have, it doens't matter if it's safe or not at this point.

The group still seemed hesitant, staring at each other for a moment, until the little Sarah pointed up ahead.

-Look!-Her little eyes shined impressed and you all turned to see what it was.

There, standing her arms in the air, Y/N had her skin in a pure gold dust, particles surrounding her while she formed a huge circle in the sky, bright like the sun itself, Ophelia, by her side, looked with a successful smile on her lips. She was about to destroy everything.

-We need to go, NOW!-Tony ordered and the Avengers positioned themselves.

Steve standed, still in pain, put his shield on his arm, and looked ahead:

-Avengers Assemble!

Thr battlefield was a complete mess, while the other foghted you ran with Manuel and Sarah towards the bright hole in the sky whete Y/N was. Sarah cried quietly, Manuel had an amused exptession on his face, but mostly determination to save his friend.

-Oh great. The baker.-Ophelia rolled her eyes.-Why did you bring this scum here?

-Mrs.Ginger...? You're, what? You're evil?-Manuel seemed to have not been updated about what happened.

-Oh and you've brought this little shit-She pointed at Sarah, you tried to hold your anger.

-WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY DAUGHTER?!-Manuel yelled, you've never seem him so mad.-LET Y/N GO YOUR...MUSEUM!

Ophelia made an "O' with her mouth offended, you holded a laugh.

-KONTROL KILL HIM!-She demanded but Y/N was too busy creating that huge second sun in the sky.-Ugh...Fine!

She then pressed button of a control she took from her pocket and dozens of robots surrounded you.

You created a bubble with your powers to protect you three.

-You need to make her remember now!-You sajd while trying to keep the walls still.

Manuel nodded and turned to Y/N.

-Y/N! IT'S ME MANUEL!-He yelled-SARAH IS HERE TOO!

Y/N's eyes turned to them for a moment but nothing changed.

-Y/N what you're doing it's not you! This...This witch is doing this! You need to stop her!

Ophelia just kept pressing fastly the button ordering more and more robots.

-Y/N you're not like this! Sarah tell her.-He encouraged his daughter.

-Y/N...-She spoke even a little afraid- Come back...I...I miss you!

The ground trembled beneath your feet, something has changed. Your heart beated fast in your chest, Y/N turned now to you, walking slowly in your direction, no expressions on her face, eyes blank staring into your souls. She was now at the other side of the bubble.

Sarah came closer and standed her han to her, touching the bubble like ghey were separates by a glass, Y/N didn't do anything yet. Ophelia kept screaming to her but she ignored.

-Y/N...I don't know what happened...-Manuel spoke- But no matter what, we are here for you. Always.

The glow in her eyes were getting changing weak into weak and strong now, an interior fight happening.

-Mommy is looking out for you too.-Sarah spoke purely.

Y/N standed her name to her direction, the bright sun stopped expanding.

-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!-Ophelia screamed.-STOP! GET BACK! KONTROL!

But nothing she'd say would affect her.

You received a strong attack from a robot, making the bubble be destroyed, you ran grabbung both citizens before anything could happen to them.

Steve's POV

Y/N was paralyzed, in some sort of trance, Ophelia on the other hand couldn't stop yelling key words at her to take control of her so called weapon again.

Wanda escaped with Sarah and Manuel, while Y/N was there, vulnerable.

-DON'T BE USELESS! KONTROL!-Madam Hydra continued.

You couldn't just let her there. You ran towards her direction.

-Steve! Steve don't go there! You're injured!-Nat warned but you ignored.

You avoided some robots on your way, all your body in pain because of the several fights, and when you say running, it means a run very weak, anyone without the super soldider serum would have been already dead.

-Y/N!-You finally reached and put ypur hands on her shoulders-Y/N listen to me...

Her position didn't change, you stared at those eyes wich once were Y/E/C, now replaced with white, shaked a little her shoulders.

-Please...Please get back to me.-Your voice was weak.-I know you're still in there.-You passed a hand through her hair and a tear fell from your eye betrayling you- I...I don't know what to do without you...

Y/N's POV- Inside her Mind.

"USELESS!"

"WEAK!"

"OBEY!"

"YOU'RE NOTHING!"

"IMBECILE"

-Stop...-You sobbed- Please make it stop....

You were at that place again. All white, no one there, just voices from terrible momenta from the past.

-Let me go...

"Nobody loves you"

"You don't deserve to live"

"Just die already"

"You need Hydra"

-No...No, I don't...

-Yes you do.-A voice came behind you.

You turned to see and gasped in surprise. It was like a clone of yourself.

-W-Who are you?

-I'm you.-She came closer.-But at least logical. Let's say I'm your Project C part.

-The serum...?

-Yes. Your Hydra side. The evil part everybody has and hide. But instead I'm stronger.-She whispered in your ear.

-I-I'm not evil-

-Yes you are.-She walked in circles.-You are destroying a city right now.

-That's not what I wanted...

-But I did. You have me inside since you were born. Without me you wouldn't exist.

-That's not true-

-Yes it is! Both our parents met and got together because of Hydra. The purpose of our existence is Hydra your fool.

You standed on your feet.

You stared at her for a moment in silence, in appearence you both were identical, but inside completely opposits.

The silence was broken by him.

-Steve.-You muttered.-I need to get back.

Your evil self hold strongly your arm and pushed you closer staring into your eyes.

-Yes I do. And so does Hydra. Now obey.

She pushed you again itno the ground, now covered in water, making you soaked. The voices continued echoing.

-Incredible how you're pathetic but still part of me...-She disappeared for a moment but her voice was still present.-Guess I'll have to extinguish you.

A hand grabbed your neck, starting to choke you and lifting you in the air. You try to fight against but she was too strong.

You could feel the air from your lings disappearing, you kicked, pushed her hands but couldn't win.

-Give up. You never could. You know that. Your mother always told you that.

"Y/N you're a failure." Her voice came to your mind surrounding the room.

-Eric told you that.

"You're nothing without me"

-Ophelia is saying.

"STOP BEING USELESS!"

-You were never enough, and you know that. No one wants you. The avengers didn't. Your parents didn't. Not even that baker wants you.

-Y...Yo...You're...wrong...-Yoy tried to reply.

-Am I? Who's dying here?

I've always been there for them. I helped them in the happy and hard moments. I was a friend, a lover, a family.

And I know they're there for me. They always did.

All of them were always there for me.

You held her hand and it started to dismaterialize.

-I can change myself. As you said we have Hydra's power. So I will use that to don't be controlled by anyone.-You freed yourself from her and turned still holding her hand- A "useless" person like me wouldn't be loved by so many people. But I am. No one it's useless.

-Stop....You...You are nothing....

-Yes. I'm nothing like you. And I never want to be.

Her figure swas slowlu disappearing.

-You know you can kill yourself by doing this...-She growled.

-At least no one will be in danger anymore.

You walked towards her and gave a hug.

-I know why you're like this. We suffered the same way. That's your way to protect yourself. Don't trust people. Think you don't deserve love. I've been like this my whole life. But now it's time to let go.- You caressed her cheek and you cried.- Goodbye Kontrol.

She closer her eyes and disappeared slowly. The room gloomed and the brightness consumend you both.

-Y/N-Steve called you as you got back. He was scared, ypur whole body was glowing and still changing the serum inside you.

You felt like someone was burning you alive, the pain was so strong that you could die, fighting against Ophelia was the hardest thing you've ever done.

-Y/N...-Steve didn't understand what was happening, he still had his hands on your shoulders, even though they wete materializing and dismaterializing all the time.

You took his hands off and looked him in those blue eyes.

You put a hand on his face, he leaned his skin against yours, closing his eyes, pure sadness in his face.

-My Captain...-You spoke sweetly and smiled, tears rolled through his face and reaching your hand-Please don't cry...I don't want to see you sad...-Steve opened his eyes and  you could see your disformed figure in yheir reflection.-Thank you.

You let his face go and aparted from him, leaving him eas like a thousand cuts, more painful them the atoms changing your body, more painful than surrending to the darkness, seeing him cry broke your soul inside.

-What are you doing?! That's not what I said!-Ophelia yelled at you.

-Enough.-You spoke- Your poison won't affect me anymore your viper.

-How dare you-

You standed a hand in her direction lifting Ophelia in the air, she fighted against it but it was no use.

-You won't control anyone anymore. I'm sick of you.

You made her get closer, your friends from behind observed scared, you looked behind your shoulder:

You closed your fist and a huge light consumed you and Ophelia, an explosion that made the others close their eyes, whiel you continued, peacefully, embracing it.

Steve's POV

When you opened again your eyes all the robos and enemies were gone, Ophelia disappeared along with Y/N, on the ground there were only some ashes.

-Where did she go?-Bucky asked aflicted.

-Dad where is Y/N?-Sarah interrogated something her father could not answer, he just hugged her, and you could see by the look in his eyes he also wanted an answer.

-Y/N...-Wanda muttered sad, Vision helped her continue standing on her feet.

You walked towards the ashes slowly, fell on your knees, observing what could possibly be from Y/N or Ophelia. Even that you didn't know.

-She...She can't be...-Bucky didn't wnat to accept, Sam held his arm to make him calm down.-No...

-Kid saved all of us...-Tony spoke with his voice sounding like a whisper,  Peter put a hand on his shoulder as he noticed he's never seen his mentor so sad.

-But...She's strong enough to resist, isn't she? It can't be possible...There must be a way-

-Brother.-Thor interrupted Loki, who tried to keep his serious aspect and closed his fists in a way to hold the tears.

A movie inside your mind, passing slowly and violently, slapping your face, could you have saved her? Lots of what ifs tortured you as you stared to those dry ashes on the ground, begging wind to don't blow them away and fly through unknown places.

Is this the end? The love of your life turning into ashes? A perfect soul giving up on her life to save others? That seemed like something Y/N would do fearless...

The pain your body felt was almost invisible in comparison with the grief you were dealing with, as your body dehydrates when you sob, closing fiercely your eyes to don't glance again at those ashes.

It wasn't fair, you've finally found happiness and it was just taken brutally from you. She didn't deserve that. You wished you died in her place.

You felt your chin be lifted by something, carressing softly your cheeks and cleaning the tears.

-Steve.

You opened your eyes and thought you were being tricked by them. In front of you, standibg like a goddess, was Y/N, she had a peaceful look in her eyes, now in their natural color, and used a light blue gown, the ashes on the ground were gone.

You pulled her and hugged her like your life depended on it, and it actually did, your life was there, in your arms, you felt like gou were born again.

-You came back.-You said trying to make yourself believe in those words.

-Of course I did. Just like you came back to me.-She smiled sweetly.

You pulled her into a kiss, maybe the most emotional you shared, with tears, love and relieve, all that saga was gone, she was there, safe, and that's all that truly mattered.

-Too mucb PDA guys.-Bucky mocked.

You aparted the kiss and she laughed cutely, Sarah came running along with Manuel and the others.

-I'll have to share you now.-You joked.

-Yes you do.-She replied and hugged the child.

Y/N's POV

-Y/N you're okay now??-Sarah questioned.

-I am sweetie. Sorry for scaring you.-You replied guilty.

-It's okay. At least you are here now.-Manuel hugged you tightly.-We missed you.

-I missed you guys too.

Bucky came walking after Manuel and Sarah gave space, he embrace dyou before you could say a word.

-Shit, you scared me Y/N.-He spoke holding you.

-Sorry Bucky.-You spoke.

-Don't risk yourself like that ever again please-He kissed softly your cheek and aparted.

-Y/N!!-Nat and Wanda hushed and held you.

-I think she needs a drink after this.-Clint joked.

-More like two.-Sam joined.

-It's good to have you back Y/N.-Bruce smiled.

You hugged Tony and, even surprised, he did the same, when you aparted you could see a light tear aliding through his cheek, wich he quickly cleaned to leave no evidence.

-So now we're all good?-Peter asked and everybody laughed.

-Yes. Yes we are.-Tony commented.-I don't know about you but I think this a reason to celebrate.

-You are with your ribs broken and still want to party? Don't know if I say you're stupid or strong.-Sharon who you didn't see spoke.

-Sharon?-You asked.

-Hey Y/N. Great thing you're okay.-She smiled and you did the same.- So you still have these...Uh powers or whatever we call that?

Everybody seemed curious about her question, they didn't want to bothet asking but still showed the interest in their faces.

-No.-You laughed.- I gave up on it. The wold's too dangerous for such habilities.

-Ah.-Everybody said.

-Well  that's a shame you could be a great Avenger with that-Tony joked.

-Oh please no!-You laughed.-All I want is to stay way from the action now.-You looked slightly at Steve and squeezed his hand.

-And I'm going to check on my family, see ya.-Clint said and left.

-Hey greenie, want to have that drink now?-Nat asked Bruce and he held her hand leaving.
