Y/N's POV:

The day you were anxious for had finally arrived, 4th of July. In another time, where you were still innocent and fooled by the others, that day Tony would've made a party, also celebrating Steve's birthday, 100 and something, but now all of that seemed far away.

You were already at the exit, your army of robots behind, with the soldiers, as you waited for Ophelia to arrive and say that you should now start and go.

A part pf you felt ready, totally ready to prove how wrong they were about you, prove your strentgh and get your revenge from what they did, but another part was nervous, insecure, and afraid.

Loki probably noticed it when he came to your side, breaking the silence in his sarcastic tone as always:

-Excited for today?-He mocked.

-Fuck off.-You replied.

-Fuck me.-He made a malicious smile and you rolled your eyes making him laugh.-Don't worry, if you faint in the middle of battle I can still win.

-Just like you did in that alien invasion? I don't think so...-You teased and he made a face.

-Things will be different this time.

-Of course they will, you've got me now.

-Yes...Yes I do.-He gave a warm smile.

You stared at the low part of rhe city, people gathered to look fron far at your base, at first you didn't understand, then you saw it, a big Quinjet in the air, it was different from the ones the avengers used, this one was thinner and longer, covered in black and red painting, with a huge Hydra logo printed.

-Very discrete.-He spoke ironically.

-Stylish.-A voice behind us said. It was Ophelia.-The robots will go in the air, while you two go with some soldiers in this ship.

-What about you?- You asked.

-I'll go on a separate and smaller ship, but don't worry I'll be there. By tbe way, your uniform is ready.

-Uniform? I thought she was going to fight on her pajamas.-He teased.

-Follow me Y/N.-Ophelia said and you went after her until a room. There, she picked your outfit- I thought it would be just right for you on your grand day, what do you think?

You two got back next to the Quinjet, everybody ready to go, the robots in their respective ships.

Loki looked you up and down and smiled:

-What a lush Lady Y/N-He bit his bottom lip.

-Ready to go?-You smiled back.

-Always up for it.-He winked and helped you get into the Quinjet.

The pilot just announced you were on NY, you could see the big and majestic Empire State building, sorrounded by the concrete jungle you used to live in.

You grabbed your phone, taking a deep breath while staring at the flat black screen, you could feel Loki's eyes at you.

-Are you good?-He asked.

-I feel like I'm about to throw up.-You sniffed- But it's now or never...right?

He just nodded with his head, you turned on the phone and dialed the numbers, starting the call, almost making your heart stop when the other person picked up.

-Y/N? Oh my...Where are you??-Wanda's voice on the other side seemed afflicted.

-Wanda I don't have much time. You must now everything by now, isn't it?-You answered.

-...Yes

-I'm with Hydra.

-But Y/N-

-Not with the bad side. These are really good people. I'm trying to help the world Wanda. That's what I was created for.

-And what are you going to do?

-Take over NY first. I need you to stay safe.

-Take over NY??

-Please Wanda. Grab Peter and Bucky, go to the bakery with Manuel and Sarah, stay there until I say for you to get out. Did you hear me?

-Yes...Be careful Y/N...Please.

-I will.

You turned off the phone without speaking further. The pilot landed on a safe area, then, your crew grabbed a camera and started the transmission in air.

Steve's POV

It all happened fast. Wanda ran and bumped on your shoulder, she couldn't hide what she was doing, there was something odd going on.

-Where are you going?-You asked.

She didn't answer and continued running, you went after her, quickly reaching her thanks to your strentgh, Bucky came, spotting you two, and stopped in front of you both.

-What's going on?-He asked.

-Bucky come with me.-Wanda said fastly to him, ignoring your presence.

-What?

-Where's Peter?-She looked around.

-With Tony...Wanda what is happening?-You asked concerned.

-WANDA!-Someone yelled behind us.

It was Vision, fastly coming and holding her arm and looking into her eyes.

-Wanda stop, this is wrong.-You've never seen him so serious.

-Who are you to say what's wrong or right?-She spoke angry between her teeth pulling her arm from him agressively.-Bucky we need to go.

-What do you want with him?-You asked impatient.

-It's Y/N.-Vision spoke and your heart stopped on your chest.-She's back.

You had no time to reply or react, alk the monitors, screens and TVs were hacked somehow and a transmission started, showing someone.

Y/N.

She seemed different, stronger, but somehoe more sad, concerned and lonely. Her hair was changed, her clothes giving her a dangerous aspect, but also a sexy intimidating atmosphere.

-Citizens of New York, this transmission is offered you by Hydra.-She started, your stomach ached with the words. Your theories were true, she was with them- Today we will free you. Help more than all those other governments did. Don't worry, we won't cause any harm. Only to those who keep the progress from happening, the Avengers. Lock yourselves in your houses, don't get out. Today destiny will finally happen.-She got closer to the camera.- You should've never lied to me Stark.

And the message was suddenly interrupted.

You lost balance for a second, everything seemed to be blurred, in slow motion, while all you could think was Y/N...What have you done...

Wanda and Vision started fighting, screaming so loud that the others came to where you were, she continued to defend Y/N, saying to Bucky to go with her, Vision said that Y/N called her before starting officially the attack.

Bucky for everybody's surprise refused, Peter stayed with Tony, so Wanda started to leave alone. Vision tried to stop her, but she used her powers and throwed him so hard on the ground that he went through it until the floor under it.

You were sitting on the ground, still amused by Y/N's words, you could hear Wanda's hushed footsteps leaving, while Tony prepared the team, that's when he came next to you.

-So it's really happening...-He leaned to the wall next to you.

-I thought you didn't want to talk with me.-You spoke without looking at Bucky.

-I...Don't agree with what you did.-He made a pause.- But even if you were a jerk I know you wanted the best for her.-He looked at you and gave a half smile- 'Cause I know my friend.

That friendship you had was one in a milllion, and at that moment, when you met eyes with him, you knew.

He standed his hand for you to get up:

-Let's go.-He said.-Let's save her Steve.

You took his hand and gave him a hug, wich he replied to you as a "Drama queen, we're loosing time! Okay okay, love you too".

All the bad words you spoke to each other were now in the past. You knew Bucky still loved her, he wouldn't forget his feelings soon, maybe never, but your link as friendship wouldn't either. You both cared about her.

-Are you ready?-Tony asked the team about to leave.

-Are you?-You asked him back.

-No.-He had a concerned look on his face- But we are doing it anyway.
