Y/N's POV

-Can you believe the year is ending tonight? It passed so fast-Wanda said as you walked together.

-I know right? It seems like I entered those doors 1 week ago-You looked at the Tower's front door at the hall.- Can't believe it's been 8 months.

-You have more work now?-She asked.

-Just need to organize this, I'll leave early today. You should go to my house Manuel is going to celebrate with lots of food, you can bring Vision too.

-Ooh it's set then!

You went upstairs and started organizing some documents when Tony knocked at your door.

-Come in.-You said.

He opened and closed the door behind him.

-Got a second?-He asked.

-Always.

He sat at the chair in front of you and started touchinh everything on your desk, it was quite annoying but you were already used to it.

-So as you may or may not know Pepper is coming back soon.-He finally said.

-That's good.

-Probably at the end of next month she'll be back and you'll have a lot to catch up with her.

-It's okay.

-Another thing...-He looked around the room trying to find the right words- There's something I wanted to talk with you it's been a while.

-Go ahead. Wait- yoi got nervous- Am I being fired? Oh my God-

-Uh? No, what the hell Pizza calm down.

You sighed in relief and he procceded.

-Are you and...Steve...dating?-He asked calmly but at the same time extremely curious.

-No.

-Really?

-No. Why are people thinking that lately?

-So more people thought about that?-He covered his mouth with his hand- You're not thinking about dating Steve are you?

-What is going on? Why are you asking that? Steve is my friend, that's all.

-Nothing-He standed his hands as a sign to calm- I'm just... politely asking.

-Well you have your answer.

-Good.-He nodded embarrassed.- It was just that, I won't bother you anymore.

-Thanks.-You asnwered sharply.

He left the room and closed the door, you dived into your chair resting.

-Can't I just be his friend? Why people think that?-You said to yourself.

You tried to avoid those thoughts, finished organizing the documents and prepared your stuff to leave when a message passed under your door.

-Mr.Stark?-You asked but nobody answered.

You got closer and saw a letter on the ground, scared but curious, you opened.

"Hello miss Y/L/N, today we have an special present for you, consider it as an New Year's day present. We are excited to see how you'll react to it, just like your performance on the subway station we know you'll put on a wonderful show. Better hurry up. You are not alone this time.

Yours truly, Hydra"

-What the ...

Then you heard people screaming, you opened the door fastly,  getting closer to the elevator you heard people there, locked inside it.

-Oh My God, are you okay??-You shouted to them, the answers were yellings for "help".- Calm down Y/N, calm down, think....Mr.Stark, I'll call him.

There was no phone sign.

If you went to his floor it'd be too late.

-I need to think.....Oh God can't I have peace once?

You looked at the elevator's pannel, maybe there was a way to open it. You tried to push it but it was hold too tight.

-I need something to get it an--

A loud sound of shots echoed, a  masked soldier shot in your direction, he dressed in green and black, ready to kill.

-Come on!-You said disappointed- Why me???

You had to think, and fast. Ypu hud behind a plant, wich was useless, then ran to the other side of the room, it was a waiting saloon, only with tables, magazines and chairs, nothing more, how would you defend yourself?

-WHAT DO YOU WANT?-You shouted.

The man didn't answer, worse, he spotted where you were hidden and shot, the bullet brushing fastly close to your shoulder, starting to bleed, but nothing serious. You could handle it.

You looked around the room looking for a way to fight back. A fire extinguisher at the corner. Maybe you could use that for something. Just had to get there.

Remember your trainment YN come on.

"If you're under attack" Nat's voice echoed in your head " go somewhere you can cover until he has to recharge, his gun will have to stop at some point."

He shot more times  then at a point he stopped, you ran to the fire extinguisher. Now what?

The man came after you, running in your direction, with or wothout guns he'd kill you.

With no more ideas you used the fire extinguisher, shooting its gas on it. The man didn't know where to look, he felt lost in the bliss.

"Take this opportunity to knock him down"

You ran to him and did as your master would do. Making him fall on the ground unconscious.

No time to loose. You grabbed the gun and kept it close to you, he couldn't be alone. That was a planned attack.

You took the fire extinguisher and hit hard on the pannel breaking ut and revealing it's wires.

There was a little note in another language on it. You didn't know how, but you could read it.

"Gute Arbeit, wechseln Sie einfach die roten und blauen Drähte."

Translation:

"Nice job, just switch the red and blue wires."

You had no other options, you exchanged both and the light on top of the eleavtor turned on, the people getting up from each floor, until they arrived at yours.

The door didn't open.

It was almost but something kept it stuck.

On the littlegap the door had you put your both hands and pulled them apart with all the strentgh you could.

The people inside screaminv helpless wanting to be free as the gap slowly got bigger.

You felt a fire inside you, a strentgh you never imagined to have.

Person on the elevator POV

Then, like a miracle, a girl opened the doors, her arms opened wide pushing the metal doors so everybody could pass. She moaned a little from pain, I wonder if she was one recruit of the Avengers, that definetly wasn't human.

-GO!-She ordered to me and the others, it was too much for her to handle, the gap started getting smaller as she couldn't hold the doors for too long.

I passed through her, arrivibg safely at the ground, so glad that I could kiss the floor. But I ssw something even more surprising.

When all the people left she let the doors go, taking her arms out of it, the elevator made a loud noise then it was like the ropes were cut and the metal container fell, just hearing the sound of its impact later. Everybody could've been dead if it wasn't for her.

She looked back to check on us. But there was something different on her. An etheral aura, her eyes were a pure glowing white, her hands had particles floating through them, like dust.

-Are you all okay?-She asked.

-Yes...Yes...Thank you.- I answered and she nodded.

-There are intruders in the tower, lock yourselves in a room and don't get out. Did you hear me?

No one fought against the idea, they were too scared for that, someone thanked her again and leaded the group to a large meeting room where we could stay hidden.

As I was leaving I feared for that girl, I hope she could fight and stay alive through that chaos. She was a true hero that day.

Y/N's POV

Where to go now? You tried to call Tony again but no answer, somehow they managed to take down the signal.

Where would they go?

"You need to protect the Avengers' Floor"

You quickly went to the stairs and started going down, breath Y/N, just breath, everything's gonna work out. The Avengers probably are already taking care of it.

You were going down the stairs when spot a note on the wall:

"Ready for the next round?"

You entered that same floor, looking around for possible enemies.

That didn't work really well since one adversery came from.the roof and fell on top of you, making you collapse on the ground.

-What...-You tried to recover as you saw a weird guy all covered in fabric, he had 2 knifes, one in each hand.

He was about to stab you when you rolled just in time, getting up and stepping away from him.

You barely had time to say something, another soldier came next to him, there wasn't much olace to run to, it was a narrow hallway, no objects around, you  were about to shoot with the gun you goy from the previous guy, but, again, bad timing, they came hurring to you.

Time for a quick decision.

You throwed yourself on the ground, passing through their legs, one of them falling next to the wall, as the you could take a knife from the other and use it to cut the one on the wall.

Before the last one could attack you prepared the gun and shot at his chest making him fall on the ground.

-Oh God...-You sighed still schocked.

You got up and stayed with one of the knifes like a game character collecting weapons through the levels.

At the end of the floor, next to the stairs you went down again.

Labs floor. A note:

"Since this test is only for you we kept your green friend under control, but can you keep him alive?"

Green friend....Labs...Bruce!

You ran to it, at the hallway you could see bruce through the glass walls, he seemed locked. When he saw you he ran to the glass, you could hear briefly his voice:

-Y/N!

-Bruce! Are you okay?

-Someone locked me! What is happening??

-We are under attack and-

Before you could say something ypu heard a thin sound, a "bzzzz" cutting air, you  squated on the ground just in time for when a bullet passed.

You got up again, Bruce looked surprised, on the other side of the hallway another soldier.

-I'm already sick of this-You pointed the gun and shot him right making him fall.- Gonna get you out of there now.

You tried to open the door but no use. Instead a noise started, like sirens.

-What is this?-You asked.

-Oh shit...-He said looking around-Special gas system, inside the lab.

-And??

-It kills!

He tried to tap his mouth to don't inhale it.

You pointed your gun to the door to shoot and open it but Bruce yelled for you to stop.

-If you that everything is gonna blow up!

-What should I do then??

-At the end of the hall there is another room with control pannels, there you look for the lab's pannel, you can disactivate the security system. You have 10 minutes.

-Alright.

You ran to the room, but met with another enemy. He had a gun and started shooting.

That's when she appeared.

-GO!-Natasha shouted distracting the guards.

You nodded with your head, running through some of them and stabbing as they tried to attack.

You finally got to the pannel.

"Insert Password:"

What.

Bruce didn't say the password. You couldn't believe this.

6 letters.

Calm down. This tower was designed by Tony. There must be a clue or something. You tried inserting "AVENGE".

Wrong.

"SCIENC"

-The worlds doesn't even fit. What is this?-You complained.

Wrong again. You had no time for that.

A tip appeared:

"Most Wise Living Thing In This Planet"

In Tony's vision... Socrates? Einstein? Descartes?

-Wait...Tony if that's the password...-You said to yourself.

You inserted the words:

"PEPPER"

"Special Security System Disactivated"

-No way.-You said schocked.

You looked through the cameras, Bruce seemed fine. You looked and found a microphone.

-Bruce You alright?-You said.

He made a positive sign.

You noticed a note on a desk next to the pannel.

"Did you save him? Guess you really know Stark well...Go on, your test is not over yet. Hungry for revenge?"

-Bruce Natasha is coming for you, I have to go.

He nodded and you left the pannel.

The floor now was the cafeteria's. And what a chaos. You could see others there. Sam and Bucky were protecting some people, but there were too much soldiers.

The note on the floor

"Good luck, don't worry, the witch, the machine, the God, and Stark aren't here to interrupt, so have fun"

Who? Witch? Wanda? The God and the Machine...Thor and Vision. They were the strongest, maybe that's why they weren't there.

You ran toward the guards managing to knock some out. You noticed one was about to shoot Sam.

-SAM WATCH OUT-You yelled and he avoided just in time.

-Y/N? WHAT THE HELL?-He said confused knocking out the soldier.- What are you doing here?

-Helping, you're welcome!-You shot on a soldier next to him.

-I swear if Tony discovers you are here-

-No time for that now-You answered.

You tried to think what possibily could happen,  there was always a surprise.

-I handle these, but there are still some workers who need to hide!-He said and you nodded agreeing.

You ran towards the guards, you found Bucky there fighting with them. You grabbed a tray and used to beat the soldier behind him.

-Y/N?-He looked at you astonished.

-You owe me one now.-You joked.

-Squat-He said and you did as he said, he shoot at someome behind you- I think we are good now.

-What are you doing here? You're going to die staying in front of these guns.

-After all of this you can complain as much as you want, now you need to hide with these people at the kitchen, it's at that hallway.

-We? I'm the one with super strentgh.

-Exactly the one who can protect them better. Now go!

He still didn't like the idea but agreed, gesticulating and shouting for the people to run.

You got back to Sam, he seemed to be handling the situation well enough.

-I need to go to the Avengers' Floor!-You said to him.

-Go ahead! I deal with this!-He said.

You ran and went started to go downstairs again.

The hall area.

Two guards, but these ones were easy to defeat. You just shot with your gun. The only problem is that there were no bullets left now.

A note on a wall:

"Think"

-What is it now?-You shouted out loud- Show up!

And it did.

You heard someoje talking, then you spotted him, at a corner, Happy, all tied up.

You took out the fabric who covered his mouth.

-Happy did you get hurt?-You asked worried.

-Y/N look out!-He said.

You grabbed him and went to the ground, a man with a knife was trying to hit you both.

-Please tell me you have a gun-Happy said.

-Not anymore.-You replied taking your knife.- Guess this will have to do. Take care.

You let him there and went after the soldier, starting a furious fight with knifes.

The man was extremely skillfull, that made a harder for you to keep with it.

You fortunetly were smarter and used a fabric of his clothes to distract and knock him out.

After that you stabbed in a place that would pain for him to move and tied him.

You got Happy out.

-Where are the others?-You asked- I saw Bruce, Nat, Bucky, Sam...

-Tony, Thor, Wanda and Vision received  call that an alien enemy appeared, appearently it was a scam to keep them away.

-Can you find a way to call them? My phone doesn't work.

-I will, there must be some special system Tony prepared. Are you okay?

He looked at one of ypur arms bleeding because of a bullet and scratches om your legs.

-I am. Just need to get to the last floor, what if they invade it?

-They must not be inside it, the floor is extremely locked in case of invasion.

Then, the big TV on the hall turned on.

The image that appeared was Steve, a gun pointed to his head.

-No...-You said to yourself.

"Congratulations Miss Y/N" another voice continued, probably the person with the gun " even though I'm afraid to say you have to get to the 50th floor now."

-No...They made me believe they were at the basement...Steve....

"Don't worry, it's the last level of the game. Just come here. Alone. We have prepared an elevator for you, don't worry"

At the same time he pronounced those words the one of the elevators' door opened.

-Y/N...-Happy started.

-I'm going. Just call Tony.-You answered ans turned to leave.

-Y/N-He said before you left- Be careful.

-I will.

You entered the elevator and without pressing any buttom the doors closed.

Last floor. Next to the edge, there was a man and Steve, on his knees, with a gun om his head.

The cold air passed by but couldn't bother you, the sky was in a beautiful tome of orange and red, a dramatic scenario.

Your knees bruised, your arm in pain because of the bullet, but that wasn't enough to stop you.

-Let him go.-You said walking towards their directon.

You had nothing om your hands, you left the gun with Happy so he could defend himself.

-Y/N! No! Run!-Steve begged.

The man pressed harder the gun against his head.

-I SAID LET HIM GO!-You shouted angry.

-Don't get closer.-The man said and made you stop.- Or...

He looked at Steve. He was all hurt, breathing hard, the swear shining in his face, you could see the pain in his eyes.

-What's all of this for? Why?-You asked.

-Can't you see? Open your eyes!-The man said- Vincent tried but couldn't.

-Shut up.

-Tell me how did they tell you he died? Gravity?

-I said SHUT UP!

-You know you killed him. You know what you did.

-So what? You want revenge?

-No, it's much more than that. There's so much you need to see Y/N.

-Let Steve go.

-You are quite obssessed with this captain aren't you? No, I won't let him go. That motivates you.

-Y/N don't listen to him.-Steve requested.

-Listen to me. Hör mir zu Projekt C (listen to me Project C)- The man talked in another language but you understood.

-Don't hurt him..-You said.

-Y/N whatever he's saying, don't listen to him.-Steve tried to calm you.

You closed hard your fists, you felt a fire inside you, raging as he continued holding that gun.

-was willst du? (What do you want?) - you asked.

-enthülle dein wahres Selbst (reveal ypur true self).

-Ich weiß nicht, wovon du sprichst. ( I don't know what you're talking about)

-What about that watch on your arm?-He said now in english and pointed.- Do you know the meaning of it?

-What does this have to do with?

-SAY IT-he shaked the gun next to Steve's head.

-Y/N don't...-Steve spoke.

-Unsere Zeit wird kommen (our time will come)- You read it and felt your whole body in flames.

-wessen Zeit? (Whose time?)- He insisted.

-...-You didn't know.

-WESSEN ZEIT?

You closed your eyes.

-Hydras Zeit (Hydra's time).

Steve's POV

Her hair started floating in the air, her eyes turned into a bright white, her breath instable, like a huge power was taking control over her. The man had a successful smile on his face, he achieved his goal.

-Y/N don't...-You tried but she didn't seem to hear.

-Komm mit uns, Tochter von Hydra ( come with us, daughter of Hydra)- The man said something you couldn't unserstand.- Vergiss diesen Narren. Akzeptiere dein Schicksal. (Forget this fool, accept your fate)

Y/N disn't answer at once, she looked at the ground and closed her eyes, like she gained more strentgh.

Then her eyes went, dangerous and bright meeting the guy's.

-Nein. (No).-She said slowly.

-What?-The man got back to english-Obey! You said the words! Obey !

-I said no.

-I-I'l kill him!-He pointed to you.

-Shoot.-You said to him.- You'll never make her turn on your side.

-Your --

-Don't touch him.-She said and her words echoed strongly.

-Or what?

-Don't touch him.

-I'm not afraid of you.

-But you should be. Specially when you mess with the people I love.

When she spoke this words she standed both her hands in the air, then some sort of force attacked the guy, he throwing him away from the builiding, apssing the edge of the tower, falling into the street in a horrible death.

Y/N's POV

The man has disappeared from your sight. He was probably dead at the street at that moment.

You ran towards Steve, crying worried about him.

-Steve!-You hugged him tightly, he embraced you back, you still couldn't believe what just happened.

-Y/N, are...Are you hurt? Did they hurt you?-He still was more concerned about your health, he helf you face with his hands and looked at you.- I...God...I was...I was so worried about you...

-And I was about you...-You said, your voice sounded like a whisper, you were tired.-I thought I was going to...To...

He carressed your face and gave a weak smile.

-But you saved me...See?-He put your hand on his chest, you could feel his beart beating- I'm here.

The tears fell from your face violently, you still didn't understand what happened, that drama you just passed through.

You realized that the idea of loosing Steve was much more than you imagined. It was like taking out a part of you.

-You are so injured...-You said.

-It's okay.

-It's all my fault...If I...If I arrived earlier...

-No, no don't say that.-He spoke and his sweet and warm eyes met yours- I'd bleed and get hurt over and over again just for you.

And your heart just stopped.  There wasn't a way to describe the feeling, the fear, the sadness, the happiness you felt all at once in those brief moments wigh him there.

You held him in your arms, still reluctant to let him go, you were so afraid, you wanted to protect him, stay wigh him in your arms until all the danger from the world passed.

It's funny how he was the firsf to save you and know look where you were.

-Y/N...-He started talking- There's somethingI need to tell you...

You waited, your heart aching for what he still hasn't said, the anxiety killing you inside.

-I....I a--

At that exact moment Tony entered, running and screaming.

-Y/N!-He hushed and hugged you- God! You're alive...

-Mr.Stark those guys they...-You started talking

-I will explain everything. I promise you.-He said serious, his face marked with evidence he was deeply worried, you saw a quick tear fall from his face betraying his chill figure.-Steve, how are you feeling?

-I'll be better.-He said positively.

-What about the others?-You asked.

-Everybody's fine. The soldiers were defeated. Now come on, we need to go to the lab and take care of you two.

You helped Steve get up, of course, Tony was the one that held you both, since you were hurt, and helped to go until the lab.
