I don't even celebrate christmas but I felt like I needed to do this lol

Y/N's POV

The streets were covered in snow, the window of your apartment all blurred, almost frozen.

You went to the bathroom and almost died taking a bath of how cold the water was, even in hot temperature.

Then you dressed up, trying to make yourself waem to fight with the weather outside to go to work.

Today you had to walk to work, the bus wasn't passing on the streets and Happy couldn't drive because of the snow.

You almost fell while walking, even though you liked that time of the year it was hell to go to work, speacially if you are holding lots of bags with presents.

Couples holded hands, kids made snowballs fights, policemen guided old ladies through the snow, while stores were full of decorations who you could see miles from distance.

When you finally arrived at the tower you just wanted to sit and take some rest, put the bags aside and maybe sleep. But there was no time for that.

You hushed, taking put your coat as ypu felt the hot air inside the tower, giving you chills as your body got warm.

-Pizza there you are, very cold outside?-Tony said as you entered the Avengers' floor.

-You have no idea.-You replied putting your coat hanging on a chair and putting the bags on a table.

-What's all that stuff?-Peter asked curious. He probably didn't have class that day.

-Gifts!-You said excited when you noticed everybody was inside.- Great, I have some little presents for you guys, here...-You took the bags and started delivering- There's also some cookies baked by Manuel and cards Sarah made for each one of you.

-Awww, that's so cute Y/N- Wanda opened hers, you bought a coat for her, a red one, it suited her so well.- Thanks!- She gave you a hug.

-I guess we had the same ideas this year- She said giving you a coat.

-Omg thank you!-You said excited putting on your gift.- I love this!!

-Nat this is yours- Yous said- Don't want you cold- You gave her the jacket.

-That's...very cool, thanks.-She gave a quick smile, but was deeply in lpve with the card Sarah made with a drawing of her.

-Bruce this one's yours- You gave him a new watch.

-Thanks Y/N.-He accepted kindly.

-Clint-you gave him a t-shirt with a meme about arrows.

-Shit,Thanks Pizza.-He laughed and accepted.

-Thor this one- Ypu handled him a new big cup of beer.

-Woah, I don't even know what Midgardian day you're celebrating but I like this. Thank you.-He said happy

-Peter- You gave a new headphones- I hearf yours broke in a mission.

-No way! Thank you so much!!!-He grabbed the gift with enthusiasm.

-Sam- A pair of new snickers.

-Damn love it.-He said putting them on.

-Vision, I was kind in doubt of what you'd want so...- You gave him a portrait that changed automtically with photos of him and Wanda.

-That's lovely Y/N. Very kind of your part, thank you.-He received it and smiled.

-Tony you gave so much this year so I was seriously in doubt about what to give to a rich person.- Yous said.

-Ironman cuffilinks, how the hell you found this?-He said surprised.

-I have my ways- You said.

Ypu actually bought normal cufflinks and glued iron man heads in them.

-I actually like this...Thanks pizza.- He chuckled.

-For the many places you'll explore.-Ypu gave a shy smile and gave bucky his bag.-Make sure to take good pictures a with this camera and send to me, it's better than your phone.

He looked at it, a little emotional, he gave that beautiful smile of his, with a little sadness, but his eyes glowed as he saw the special kit you prepared.

-Shit, you know me too well...-He chuckled- Thank you. I have something for you too. I't's not much like ypurs of course- He handled you a small box- But...I thought you'd like it.

-A white wolf...-You gave a huge smile- This is so beautiful Bucky. Thank you.

You gave him a hug, and in that you could feel the sadness but love you had for each other, feeling glad to have him in your life. You put the bracelet on your other hand, the one without the watch.

Then headed to Steve.

-I know it's a bit cliché but...-You gave him his present- When I saw it I knew I had to give it to you.

He gave a cute smile looking at the snow globe on his hands.

-But...I managed to buy this on an online auction- You gave him a vinyl- Guess you need a player now.

-Good thing I have one-He looked amused at the vinyl.- This....This is amazing Y/N.

-There's also a letter inside...But read it alone, ok?-You whispered to him, he nodded and gave you a sweet hug.

-Thank you, I really loved this.

-Oh by the way Tony, this is for Pepper, maybe you could give it to her later?

-Sure, what is it?

-A pair of earrings, not much of course and...Hey don't open it- You said as he tried to open the package.

-Alright!-He replied annoyed

-Has any of you seen Happy?

-He's at the hall.

-Excuse me then-You walked fastly and found him- Happy!!!

-What?-He answered grumpy as usual.

-For you.

-Me?-He looked at the bag confused.

-Come on, open it.

He accepted, still a bit surprised and laughed as he saw it.

-Thanks Y/N- He smiled-How did you know I had blood at morning?

You both laughed and you headed back to your office, happy to see everybody enjoying their presents.

Yestersay you gave Manuel's, Sarah's and Mrs.Ginger's presents, they all enjoyed it.

Mrs.Ginger received a new perfume, one she liked a lot called "Poison" by Dior, she loved it, she says she uses it it's been a long time.

You bought Manuel a new apron and got Sarah a new Hulk action figure. Like always they went to Eliza's parents' house on New Jersey to spend christmas, so ypu had to hive their presents before.

Like every year you'd just stay eating the stock of desserts Manuel prepared for you while watching a Christmas' Special on TV. Nothing much. And it was fine.

Until you were 16 years xmas never happened at your house, your mom never really cared about it, she said it was a waste of money and time. That it was just a comercial holiday, maybe she was right, but still, why not at least give a hug on her kid and watch The Grinch with her? Would it kill her to do so?

At lunch you and your friends sat on the cafeteria as usual, Wanda started asking about everybody's plans for the holidays.

-So, Y/N, what are doing?-She asked.

-Um...I'm stayong at home, eat a lot of cookies and candies, while watching Home Alone.- You said.

-What about Sarah and Manuel?

-They're on Sarah's grandparents' house.

-You'll spend christmas alone?

-Yes...? Why? There's no problem, I do that every year.

-No!-She said annoyed- Even when Pietro and I had no food we stayed together, and after that, Vision stayed with me. You can't just stay alone.

-Wanda it's no big deal.

-Maybe you can join us, Wanda what was the sitcom you prepared for tonight? -Vision said kindly.

-Bewicthed.

-Guys it's really not that deep...

-I guess you'll both have to cancel your plans- A voice came, it was Tony- Christmas Party.

-No fucking way- Bucky sighed.

-You heard it Tin Arm, tonight party at the last floor, don't worry Pizza you won't need to work.

-Do I need to come?

-Yes. And dress nicely. We have heaters installed.

-Can't I come in jeans?

-Oh hell no. It's a fancy party. Not a ranch. You know what, I'll ask Happy to give you a dress, your present.

-She won't be alone, we're going, right Bucky?-Steve put a hand on his friend's shoulder.

-Yes, bring your metal grinch Steve.-Tony teased- See you tonight. Bye.

-He does that every year?-You asked as Tony left victorious.

-Yes, unfortunetly.-Bucky sighed.

-We just spend at least one hour and them go watch sitcoms. Too much noise.-Vision explained.

-Come on it's not that bad. We'll have a good night you'll see.

Wanda's POV

-This is terrible.-You said.

-Let's be optimistic.-Steve insisted.

-No we won't. This place looks like hell.-Bucky replied.

-There's indeed a lot of people.-Vision stated.

-A lot? There's not even room to walk.-Bucky protested trying to count how many people were there.

-We'll find somewhere to go. Let's just calm down okay?-Steve encouraged- What about Y/N? When is she coming?

-I'll call her.-You said dialing her number.

-oh hey Wanda!-Y/N greeted by the phone

-Where are you?

-Trying to get out of the room

-What do you mean getting out?

-so...I may have accidently locked myself into one of this rooms of the tower.

And like a pro, you were close to open it, and done!

Steve went against the door with his body and fell on the floor as it opened.

-I already opened it.-You said finally.

Steve looked at you, from the ground, blushing.

You were pushed by a random person again, as Steve again, holded before you fell on the ground, you all close, almost glued to each other without space to move

-People have no manners-Wanda said annoyed.

It was a funny group. Vision holded Wanda in his arms, protecting her from the crowd, as Bucky stayed by his side, smashed by Steve on his left, as you, without space, tried to make your body have at least a milimeter of distance from his, but wheneever someone passed you'd bump into him again. Making you both stutter and blush with the contact.

-Where the hell is Stark?-Bucky asked- This is his party? There's not even chairs to sit anymore.

-He'll arrive soon-Steve still tried to look at the bright side.

-I'm not so sure about that.-You already were loosing your hopes.

-This is definetly not my best Christmas-Even Vision was regretting.

-I'm calling Tony, that's it.-You said.

-hey Pizza where are you?-He asked

-At your party!

-Don't see you here.

-Of course, this place is full of people Tony!

-Oh yeah, sorry about that, you know, it's one of the most awaited parties of the year

And he hung up. Really.

-So what did he say?-Steve asked.

-That's it? We are stuck in this mess?-Wanda asked.

-You shoukd be at the V.I.P area. Thsi is the standard.-Bruce answered.

-V.I.P?

-Very Important Person or Personage. A V.I.P is a person who is accorded special privileges due to their high social status, influence or importance.-Vision made a description.

-He didn't say anything about that-You stated.

-He probably wanted to pull a prank on you.-Natasha smirked.

-Last year wasn't like that.-Steve commented

-Because there wasn't so many guests. And Pepper was here to put limits. Now follow me.

You all followed Natasha and Bruce through the crowd, until another area, next to the edge, with just the avengers, fancy drinks and nice music playing. With a breathtaking view to the city.

The securtity looked at you three and let you enter, passing through a line that divided the zone, like in the red carpet.

You all sighed as you were finally in peace from the sea of people.

-Oh there you are!- Thor smiled- I've been looking for you guys!

-Even Thor knew about the V.I.P zone.-Bucky said what we all wanted to say at that moment.

-Pizza!- Tony opened his arms and laughed- Finally, took you long to realize!

-Why didn't you tell us?-You asked.

-Because it wouldn't be so funny as it is now.-He couldn't stop laughing- Come on, don't look at me like that, let's drink, why don't we?

You decided nit to fight, after all it was Christmas and that wasn't a surprise, it's Tony we are talking about.

The food was amazing, from turkey with stuffing to delicious puddings and food you've never seen in your whole life.

Wanda and Vision danced slowly to the songs, like those typical couples from Christmas Movies, almost floating in the air as they danced perfectly to the rithym.

Natasha talked with Tony at one side, while Sam annoyed Bucky, Thor discussed something with Bruce, Clint and Peter stayed with their families at home.

Steve was by your side, trying to make you don't drink too much. "Trying to avoid the disaster from your first Tony's party" he said "do you want your next nickname to be Fruitcake?"

And you'd reply as "then leave food for the others, you ate all eggnogs by yourself" and he laughed.

It was even better when he started singing Baby It's Cold Outside, using Candy Canes as a microphone.

-I really can't stayyy-You joined.

-Get over that old out- He sung to the melody.

-Baby it's cold outsidee-You both.

The music ended and you managed to steal his candy cane.

-Oh look at that-Wanda had a malicious smile on her face.

-What?- You asked and Vision made a small smile pointing up.

It was a mistletoe, just above you and Steve. The interesting thing is that nothing was holding it. You knew Wanda was using her powers.

-Take this out-You said to her.

-I'm not doing anything....-She couldn't hide her smile.

-Just kiss.-Natasha teased.

-Kiss? What?-Bucky asked- No, they don't need to do this.

-It's the mistletoe. Have respect.-Sam insisted.

-So Midgadians have to kiss under this little plant?-Thor asked.

-It's kind of a tradition.-Bruce stated- But can be pretty embarrassing for some people.

-Who is holding that thing? Put it down.-Tony said- Pizza's not obligated to kiss Steve.

-Don't be an ass, go Y/N just kiss.-Natasha encouraged.

You tried to look at Steve's direction, he was avoiding to glance at your direction, but your eyes finally emt each other and you felt your cheeks burning. You were friends, why that now? Maybe just a kiss on the cheek? He wouldn't kiss you on the mouth...would he? Why were thinking about that anyway? No, stop.

-We don't need to do this...-You whispered to him.

He came close and kissed your cheek gently without saying anything further.

-Ah come on Steve! You kiss better than that!-Natasha said holding her glass high.

-They kissed already let's get this out from them- Tony quickly took the mistletoe and Wanda stopped controlling it.

-Not this time.-You heard her talking with Vision.

Bucky sighed and procceded to talk with Sam, while the others got back minding their own bussiness.

-That was close haha....-You laughed still nervous, feeling like you'd drop yourself on the floor at any moment.

-That is considered as a mistletoe kiss, right?-Steve asked.

-I guess so...

-I mean I wouldn't kiss you against your will.

He stayed in a silence that gave you chills, Steve's mouth opened a little in surprise then smiled.

-What are you smiling about?-You asked.

-Maybe I should've tried then.-His eyes made your jaw drop.

That feeling again, making you nervous, like butterflies were inside your stomach. Why he said those words? Was that a joke? Why wasn't he laughing? Why that serious and passionate look in his eyes. "Please say it's a joke. Don't play with me like that" you begged inside. But you didn't know what to answer.

-It's snowing outside.- He looked at tge horizont- I've got an idea, let's go.

He grabbed your hand and headed with you, out of the tower, then heading to a park, the place that once was full of green was covered in white, a cold air passing through your skin as the snow fell beautifully in the sky.

-Are you cold?-He asked taking his coat and putting around you.

Then he headed to another edge of the park and formed a snowball with his hands.

-Watch out!-He shouted and throwed at you.

-Hey!-You laughed and started forming another with your hands, throwing at his direction and starting a war.

After a while you both went to the floor, forgetting about the fancy clothes and the party that was happening at the Tower, creating angels at the snow.

-Ok I need to say, this is the best Christmas ever.-You said happy, then stayed liying on the ground turning just to Steve.

-Mine too.-He chuckled turning to your direction.

-Even though I must say I didn't expect to be lying on the snow with an expensive party dress.

-But it's a nice surprise, isn't it?

-Definetly.

Steve held you close, your head on his chest to make you warm, as you felt slowly his breath on your neck.

-Look, is that a shooting star?-You said showing the sky full of lights.

-Maybe Santa Claus?-He joked.

-Haha, very funny.

-If you could wish for a gift what would you ask for now?

-I don't know...I'm happy with what I have...

-Sit for a second and close your eyes.

You did as he said, got up from his chest, missing the heat of his body, and stayed there, with your eyes closed.

Then you felt his arms around you, slowly passing sonething cold around your neck, something metallic.

-Open now.- He whispered at your ear, a delicious warm breath in the contrasting cold.

On your neck was a beautiful north star necklace.

-Steve...It's...It's spetacular...-You looked astonished, was that a real jewel?

-I thought I should give it to you privatly. Speacially after reading your letter.-He smiled.

"Dear Steve, is it cliché to write like this?
Well, the snowglobe with a snowman is too, so I guess they'll match. Actually when I saw that snowman I thought of you, it's funny actually, snowmen are seen as sweet characters from this time of the year, they are kind, loyal and friendly. Just like you Mr.Rogers. It's not New Year's day yet but I felt like I needed to thank you, thank you for being the friend I never expected, for staying by my side on this hard moments, after all this ups and downs we passed through. For being a confident, a partner who I could count on. A snowglobe and a vinyl are definetly not enough to thank you, but they were a gift gave to you with love. Oh that was quite cringe isn't it? I'll probably burn this letter...Anyway, if I really gave this piece of paper to you, I had enough courage to say this out loud and say that I appreciate to have you by my side. Like a snowman on a christmas holiday, I just hope you don't melt like one. That would leave me not just sad but lonely too...I said too much didn't I? Well, I guess I should end this by now.

-Yes...And answering it- He hugged you by your back, his arms taking the cold air away.- I won't melt. I will stay by your side. We promised, remember?

-Until the end? Can you handle it?

-Can you?-His smile met yours, as the snow fell slowly from the sky on your messed dress.

-Yes.

-Yes too.

And you felt your heart shake, the butterflies awaken inside your stomach flying to every single space, like at any moment you would panic, but you had at the same time peace. A warm and embracing feeling on that snowy night, just the two of you under the stars.

-Merry Christmas Y/N.-He said without taking his eyes out of you.

-Merry Christmas Steve.-You replied.

Then put your head on his shoulder, as you both looked at the sky stargazing and forgetting about the cold, the people, and all the evil on the world.

Just a starry night between two people who deeply cared and found comfort in each other.
