Reminiscing

For the first time in a long time Y/N was actually heading into central Gotham during the day time. It was about 2:27 PM and the temporarily CEO was driving one of the many expensive cars he had inherited from Bruce downtown to a meeting place he had arranged to meet someone. That someone being an old 'friend' of his, none other than Pamela Lilian Isley formerly known as Poison Ivy.

During her and Y/N's final years in college Pamela was caught in an accident involving samples of Swamp Thing which mutated her DNA into being part plant, part human. She was granted the unique ability of controlling plant life, being able to mutate plants into deadlier versions of themselves, and she was able to create a pheromone that would put the recipient under the control of Pamela. The pheromone enhanced the attraction one would have towards Pamela, used at lower levels can influence people making them more suggestible, and stronger levels would turn recipients would be turned into full on zombie like drones.

While she acted as a super-villain for many years, according to Bruce's files she's three years clean. Got out of Arkham one year ago and had even started working part time at a flower store funny enough. Although Bruce and Gordon made sure to send teams over to the store to check the DNA of the plants and pheromone levels to make sure she wasn't up to anything. It seemed Pamela had finally managed to get her life in order.

Y/N wasn't expecting much from meeting her after so many years. In reality he wanted an excuse to get out of the office, plus Bruce always taught him to keep up public appearances. The paparazzi would eat up anything they're given about the mourning son and new CEO. Y/N kept his eyes on the road, Gotham always seemed so different during the day. The stench, the criminals, the darkness that swept through it like a cancer seemed to disappear entirely. During the day the people retook the streets, and they would live their lives no matter happens during the night.

It was 2 days after the burning of the Falcone Docks, November 18th, and not a whisper nor word had been heard from the family. The trio of Batman, Gordon and Dent knew something would come of it, they would strike back somehow. But at the moment, it was time for Batman to take a back seat and Y/N can take the wheel.

The car was pulled in a parking lot located just around the corner from a coffee shop the two used to meet up that. The two had decided on the place for the memories it held, plus the caffeine boost would defiantly help Y/N had the moment. His training fro, Bruce made sure he could survive on very few hours, but the training did not account for CEO hours and they were starting to get to Y/N slightly, just slightly.

Entering the coffee shop he was met with a few stares to say the least. One elderly gentleman was reading a newspaper with Y/Ns face on the front page and his face was hung open slightly as he gazed on the CEO. Y/N didn't exactly fit into this environment, while everyone else was wearing casual clothes, few hoodies. Maybe a blazer here and there for those smug idiots who stayed there for hours ordering 1 cup of the cheapest shit, all for the free WI-FI and charging their laptop. Y/N on the other hand was dressed in a $2000 navy blue suit, tie and all. He needed to look the part at least.

At twenty eight years old, Y/Ns regular order still hasn't changed from when he was twenty. It was one of those more difficult orders to say the leats;

Half-caf/decaf, peaberry, non fat latte, steamed to 145 degrees, not too much foam some light cinnamon and a chocolate chip shortbread on the side.

The baristas would normally role their eyes upon getting this order, but a $100 tip did seem to turn that frown upside down. Y/N took one of the more comfortable seats, the ones which appeared to be leather but everyone knew they weren't. Pamela had already said she was going to be a bit late, so this allowed Y/N to think about his 'other' life.

The Falcones had been dealt a blow that's for sure, but it's not enough to bring them down. The Roman is a powerful man, they need to cripple his power before taking him down directly. No use going in guns blazing with an arrest warrant hoping he comes quietly, on the Romans word half the city will go to hell and the trio know that. So for now they would  need to deal a few smaller hits before the can land a big one. What they need is something to-

Before Y/N could thin about his next plan of attack, the door was opened slightly and a small bell ringing could be heard. With him looking up seeing the woman who he used to love as Y/N, but as Robin she terrorised him. Looked as if she had barley aged a day. Pamela's red hair was as vibrant as always, flowing down her back like a waterfall of fire. Black trousers, green button up shirt and a jacket over it.

It took Y/M a moment to register this was the same Pamela Isley who terrorised Gotham, the same who tried to poison the water supply with micro seeds causing plants to grow out of anyone who drank it, the same who had spent plenty of time in Arkham. But for a brief moment he didn't see that Pamela, he saw the old Pamela. The one who he spent hours with watching old British Sci-fi shows, he helped her with a few experiments, and they were together for two and half years. 6 months of which she acting as Poison Ivy. More importantly he saw a reformed criminal until that voice.

'She's dangerous, she's killed people. You shouldn't be here, you should be out there finding every inch of ground you can gain against Falcone'.

Y/N pushed the voice aside, standing up from his seat to greet the red head. She moved over passed the counter towards where Y/N was seated.

"Y/N, it's so good to see you again" she said, embracing the man in a hug. It took Y/N a moment to return it, still at very least staying are of she was or who she used to be.

"Same to you Pamela, what? It's been 6? 7, years? he asked as he gestured to the seat opposite his own with him quickly taking it.

"Something like that" Pamela said as she looked down then at Y/N. "My you've gotten in shape, using those secret chemicals you billionaires have access to?" she asked, getting a small chuckle out of Y/N. It was true, while as Robin Y/N had been more lean, in order to be Batman, Y/N has to change his diet and routine. Packing on a few extra muscles than he was comfortable with.

"No of course not. Just plain old push ups, sit ups and plenty of juice" he smirked, taking a small sip of his coffee. To this day it tasted the same, just the way he liked it.

"Well whatever you're doing it's defiantly working. How have the years been treating you?" Pamela asked as she got comfortable in her seat.

"Well I have to say, quite well. I spent some time traveling, spent time with a friend in Blüdhaven. A bit of freelancing time in Coat City in for Ferris Air. But I settled down for a bit in Star City. Working for a time at Queen Industries in their finance department" Y/N explained, his eyes drifting off to the side as his mind wandered through these memories. After leaving Gotham it was true, Y/N didn't really know what to do. Dick offered him a place in Blüdhaven, it was enjoyable for a time, but it wasn't for him. When he finally reached Star City, Green Arrow was joining the League so he needed someone to watch over his city from time to time.

"Sounds interesting, seeing that business degree is coming in handy" Pamela said, picking up on how Y/N seemed happy thinking back to the past few years.

"Yeah" Y/N answered back, switching his gaze back to Pamela. "What about you? How's life been treating my third favourite red head?" he taunted slightly, drawing a joking smile from the woman.

"Third?" Pamela asked. "Just who has taken my spot from me?"

"I'm afraid I can't tell. Confidentiality and all that" he answered back.

'You shouldn't have said that' the voice began creeping into his skull once again. 'You can't let her get close to you, to them, to Batman or to any aspect of your life. She's a criminal, she'll only hurt you'.

"Well after my, shall we say exposure to nature" Pamela seemed to almost caught lightly, her eyes trailing downwards and her bottom lip trembling somewhat. Remembering back to her time as Poison Ivy must be painful for her. "I used my time wisely, it took a while to seep through everything. Every Doctor told me a different story, each one having their own agenda thinking they could be the one to cure the malicious Poison Ivy" Pamela went, her hand gripped the side of the table sternly. "But after a while, and some help, I managed to finally clear my head" she said, her jade eyes connecting with Y/N's finally.

"It's good to hear you've managed to get your head straight Pam, truth be told. And this might come as a surprise but I never really heard anything about what Poison Ivy did" Y/N said, breaking off a piece of the shortbread. It was a lie, Y/N always kept up to date was happening in Gotham. Pam let out a surprised 'huh' upon hearing this. "Well I was kinda busy, you seen what happens in Coast City? They have ring wearing super villains. I was busy running for my life" Y/N joked causing Pam to giggle.

"Well it's to hear that even Y/N L/N is afraid of the super villains that plague this world" Pamela said in-between her giggles.

"I umm" this part was nervous for Y/N. "I even found my dad. My actual dad" that statement seemed bring a sense of seriousness to the conversation and Pam seemed to lean forward slightly. Growing up Y/N never really knew who his dad was, didn't even know his name so he took his mothers surname.

"How was he?" Pamela inquired with a slight tilt of her the head. Even she knew that Y/N had always wanted to meet his father.

"Truth be told...." Y/N began, his eyes looking up for a brief moment then back at Pamela. "...He was an asshole. When he first met me he didn't even recognise me, it was only when he learned who my mother was did he actually give a damn. He went on about my half siblings which I didn't even knew I had. But in the end he I told to go fuck himself" Y/N said, putting a smirk as he finished his brief recollection of events.

It was true when Y/N first met his father he was over the moon, he could look past what his father did. But as time went, and his father's true desire for Y/N was revealed, the relationship defiantly took a turn for the worst.

"But at least you got closure" Pam stated.

"That's true" Y/N took another sip of his coffee. "At least I got closure" he repeated, his memories of his interaction with his father returning.

Y/N and Pamela talked for another hour or so. Catching up on what the other was up to, Pam showing Y/N pictures of the flower shop she worked at. It actually located a few blocks away from Wayne Tower it turns out. Y/N recognised the name the 'Baudelaire Flower Shop', lots of the sam flowers would be seen around desks and such. Receptionists tended to buy them for a more lively feel around the office, plus some the breeds of flowers sold did seem quite exotic. But in the end the two had to return to their respective worlds, Pam's the one of retail and Y/N the night life of a Bat. But they did promise that they would meet up again in the near future.

It was 8:37 and the District Attorney Harvey Dent was returning home. It was a long day at the office, and needless to say he was beat. But as Dent walked through his home, hoping to find his beloved wife Gilda, she was nowhere in sight. He searched every room, making sure she had called in for an early night. Just as worry was beginning to rush over Harvey, his gaze turned to the back garden where he Gilda, holding a glass of red wine and sitting on a swing they had built if they had every had kids.

"Gilda" Harvey called out, stepping aside. "It's freezing out, what are you doing out here?" he called with her standing up.

"Sorry, I guess I lost track of time" Gilda stated, she swirled the glass around before turning her attention to her husband. Her demeanour seemed to change instantly, a cheery face appearing. "There's a smile I haven't seen in a while. Somebody have a good day?" she asked, embracing her husband in a hug.

"Can't say it was the best day. But defiantly a great one Mrs Dent" Harvey said, the two turning to enter the house behind them.

"Good I was kind of hoping we could make it a night we'd remember too Mr Dent" Gilda said with a happy smile visible on her face. Harvey slid the door open, "Oh and a package arrived for you an hour ago. There was no sender-"

Outside the house, mobsters watched from a van with narrowed eyes waiting for the right moment. "Do it" the driver stated to one of the men in the back. With the flick of a switch, a red light began to blink rapidly until;

BOOOOOOM

The whole Dent Residence was blown apart from the inside.

Hope You All Enjoyed

See You Next Time
