Five years. Five years of this power no one can understand. No one can explain. This unbeatable power. The only reason I was even allowed in my guild. Four years of thinking I was a monster. That people only feared me for this power. I could dominate entire armies. I could protect myself from any damage as the power created a shell around me against attacks. I didn't understand it. But it chose me.

I resented it.

I resented it because it killed my family.
I resented it because everyone was afraid of me for it.
I resented it because it gave me my awful nickname.
I resented it because... it's the only thing that makes me any kind of worthy in this world.
I resented it because no one can tame this force within. Except maybe one.

"Hey, [Y/N]," the sandy blonde haired dragon slayer smiled at me, "you wanna come with me, Rogue, Minerva, and Yukino on a mission?"

He was always asking if I could join him for job requests. Our guild master of two years, Sting Eucliffe, wasn't like this when I first met him. He simply stayed with his best friend, Rogue Chenney who was more like a brother to him. And he wasn't like this because he didn't understand friendship and love. Until the fire dragon slayer, Natsu Dragneel (who I believe was his idol), made him understand friendship. That was the worst defeat I've ever seen him have. But it was also his greatest victory. Well I believe it to be the case.

"Actually, I was thinking of taking a break for a couple days and maning the bar." I told him.

Orga chuckled at that. "She has a date, guild master." The lightning god slayer laughed. He's lucky the thing that happened last time didn't happen. Very lucky.

"It's not a date! It's a girl's day!" I defended myself.

Yeah, Lucy Heartfillia invited me and Yukino (she's terrified of Minerva and for good reason) to spend the day with her and several girls from Fairy Tail, a couple from Mermaid Heel, and a couple from Lamia Scale.

"Yeah, and I can't go with you also because I'll also be at girl's day alongside, [Y/N]." Yukino told him.

Sting looked towards the ground like a wounded puppy. I almost felt bad for not going on the job. But then I remembered he's the dragon slayer. The white dragon slayer who stood his ground against the fire dragon for a whopping five to ten minutes before being crushed by Natsu's flames. He can take care of himself.

"Uh... [Y/N], what kind of girl's day?" asked Rogue. He was always the more quiet one of the twin dragons.

"Just a relaxing girl day at the spa," I told him.

"Gossiping about each other's love lives. Something you don't have." Yukino teased.

"Look who's talking." I joked back.

There was one person in mind that I wanted to like me back, but it would never be.

"Have fun, girls." Sting told us before he left with Rogue and Minerva. He still looks sad. I wonder why that is.

"I wonder why he looks so sad." I thought out loud.

"You're a moron, [Y/N]." Orga told me.

"I say you're more dense that our dear guild master." Rufus told me.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked them.

"It's obvious, you idiot." Orga looked like he was about to hit me.

"Wait. Don't tell her. Let her figure it out on her own. It'll be fun." Rufus advised.

"I'm not some toy, Rufus." I told him.

"I never said you were. I just think it'll be funny to watch you trying to figure it out and getting no where closer than where you are now." he told me. It's not gonna be funny and I was gonna figure it out. On my own. Without anyone else's help.
