True Colors

There I was again. TVA. To be honest I was already tired of that place. I was sick of the people, sick of those stupid roles, and specially of the Time-Keepers. I wanted that to end but of course nobody would listen to me:

-YOU ALL ARE VARIANTS!!-I yelled like a lunatic as the guards arrested me and Sylvie.- THE TIME-KEEPERS ARE LYING TO YOU!

-Shut up Y/N.-Sylvie told me, and she was right, my scandal wouldn't help us. They'd actually get more annoyed and kill us faster.

It seemed like everybody were locked in their rooms, only hunters were out, they considered our situation an emergency. I wondered how they tracked us so fast, I barely had time to escape.

I was wearing that horrible choker that almost killed me whenever I tried to breath, Sylvie too, she had her head up, not wanting to appear weak in front of them. While she remained composture I still screamed like an idiot.

They took us to different ways. Two different rooms, I looked at Sylvie getting far from my point of view, there was nothing I could do to help her.

They pratically throwed me in that room, a small cell locked by a huge magnetic force, it was a medium size one, and I knew that the next time they'd take me from it they would kill me.

It was just a matter of time until they grabbed their batons and "puff!" Goodbye forever Y/N.

They took the timepad from my hands, I was helpless.

I wondered where B-15 would be now, she knew the truth, she knew who she truly was. I just hoped she was okay.

Mobius' POV

I was waking through the hallways with no goal, just hoping they didn't catch Y/N. But all of sudden I was stopped by some minute men.

-Agent Mobius.-They greeted me.- Here-One of them handed me an object.-We managed to take it from the variant.

In my hands was the timepad. My heart speeded, Y/N. They had managed to capture her and there was it, the timepad she stole from me.

-How did you know this was mine?-I asked still staring at the device.

-Your name was written in the back, isn't it yours?

I dropped the timepad by the sentence. The sound of the metal falling loud on the ground, my hands still in the air, my mouth half opened.

-Sir?? Are you okay?-He asked.

"You should write your name. That way when you loose it, someone will see and return it to you"

If that wasn't a sign I don't know what the fuck could be. I looked at the guard who was surprised by my attitude, probably thinking I was crazy.

-Where is she?

-Who?

-Y/N-I corrected- The Mantis Variant.

-Judge Renslayer said that we shouldn't tell you the location.

-Why not?!

-We don't know sir.

-Then tell me where she is!

-I-I I can't, I'm going to comunicate this to Judge Ren-

-No! No! Forget it!-I yelled, grabbed the timepad and walked away.

"Think Mobius think, where would they take her?"

I walked fastly through the hallways, looking at every single door and window. I didn't have much time, they'd kill her at any moment.

That's when it occured me an idea. B-15. My friend knew every single cage in that corporation. But that's the thing, I haven't seen her in a while. She didn't appear, neither said anything. How would I find her?

...Ask the boss.

I opened the doors to Ravonna's office in an urge. She even surprised herself by my figure standing there, in front of the entrance, the eyes wide open, breathless, and with the tie all messed up along with the suit.

-Mobius? What are you doing here? -She asked while walking towards my direction- I hope it's not about the variant, we already discussed about that.

-No, it's not.-I needed to keep my cool or she would discover, I couldn't believe I was lying to Ravonna- I was just wondering where B-15 was, do you know by any chance?

Ravonna stared at me for a moment, looked at me up and down and thought for a second, probably trying to guess what was my motive.

-Why?

-She...-Create an excuse Mobius, come on, Y/N was better in this than me- I...lended her my jug of mustard and she didn't give me back yet.

I'n such an idiot.

-Your...mustard?-She looked at me like I was a freak.

-Yeah, we were in lunch, and she was like "hey Mobius can you lend me that mustard of yours?" And I said "yeah sure, just give me back" but she didn't.

-And you want that...now?

-Yes.

-B-15 is...-She took some time to answer- sick.

-What?

Since when? B didn't use to do that, just disappear without a warning wasn't like her. Something seemed off.

-She wasn't feeling well recently.

-So she is in her room.

-No.

-What do you mean "no"?

-She...-Ravonna looked at the files in her desk- She is on a special unit to recover. Don't worry about it Mobius.

-Can't I visit her?

-I'm afraid you can't.

I was starting to get annoyed.

-And why not?

My eyes met hers, challenging their brown color, Ravonna wouldn't let me know what happened.

-Look, I know that you are... fragilized because of the current situation.

-Excuse me?

-After all Y/N betrayled you, I understand your pain.

No she didn't? And besides, she was just trying to change the subject, Ravonna stood in front of me and touched my shoulder:

-I'm here to help Mobius. After all I'm your friend.

I couldn't believe in a single word she said anymore.

-You are right.-I lied.- You know the mustard...just...Just wanted to take her off my head.

-Aw Mobius...

-Can I have a hug?-I standed my arms and did a sad face.

-Of course you can.-She hugged me back.-You will forget her. That's how it is supposed to be.

-Yeah, you're right.

I let go off Ravonna's arms, even though she didn't seem to want to let me go.

-I should...distract myself with some work.

-Sure. Go ahead.-She gave a smile.

-Thanks-I said while leaving.

-It was nothing.

I walked away and closed the door, got far from her office and took her timepad off my suit.

-Now we're going to see where B truly is.-I muttered turning on the timepad I stealed and exchanged mine with hers.

Ravonna's timepad was different from mine. It contained a secret folder, and in it there was the file "Hunter B-15's case". I pressed it and a video showed:

In a desk, being interrogated, was my friend. She was wearing a TVA choker just like a prisioner, her eyes were scared, searching through the cell she was. While the people who recorded asked her questions:

"What happened when the Variant took control of you?" They asked.

"I saw myself, but...in the past." She seemed so confused.

"What do you mean? Explain Hunter"

"Like I had a normal life." Her eyes contemplated oblivion. "I had a family...My grandpa was sitting on an armchair at the living room...my mother prepared something for lunch. We were in my house in Seattle. I had nephews, a brother, a younger brother...I think his name was Cole. "

"That is impossible."

"It didn't look impossible. It seemed real. I lived that...like...like" words seemed to escape her, but her eyes shined like never before "like I was a variant. Like I had a life before the TVA."

"Hunter B-15 you are a TVA agent, not a variant"

"No, listen, what if it is real? What if we  are all variants? I didn't have just this memory, the past few days I had others....I had a job, I worked at a fire department, I had friends there. I remember even parts of my childhood"

"TVA agents have no childhood"

"But I had! It was me! I know it was!" She leaned towards them " I know it might be crazy...But I think the TVA is lying to us"

"Nonsense! Take her to the cage now." A familiar voice spoke and I paralyzed.

"No! Wait! Listen to me!"

"Nobody must know about this. Stop the recording."

"As you wish Judge"

Her image appeared in front of B-15, the guards at the background tying the hunter, and there she was. Ravonna tapping the camera with her hands. A serious exprssion on her face.

The record stopped.

A variant...? How did B-15 have that idea? And why did Ravonna stop her? If that wasn't meant to be seen, if she was lying to me, that couldn't be just a random recording.

I replayed the video observing with attention the background, the walls were in a clear grey metal. Only the west side penitenciary had cages like that. I discovered where she was.

-Agent Mobius what is the purpose of your visit?-  A guard stopped me.

-Oh right I...-I glanced at his badge reading hod name- I'm sorry F-41.

-Wh-

I punched him in the face, a hard punch that made him fall on the floor unconscious.

-Ouch...-I grabbed my fist in pain- Damn that hurt...never doin' it again.

I entered the penitenciary hallway looking through the windows, searching for any sign of B.

I could hear some other creatures talking, I didn't even know what they kept in that section, but certainly wasn't anything good.

-B!-I yelled- B are you there??

I didn't receive an answer. I couldn't give up yet.

I continued walking through the hallway.

-B-15! IT'S ME! MOBIUS!

-MOBIUS?-I felt relieved to hear her voice.

-B! WHERE ARE YOU?

-HERE!

I ran and found her in a cell, locked and sitting in a hard metal bench. A choker around her neck as she looked at me and got up, surprised to see me.

-You've found me!-She seemed so glad to see someone.

-I don't know what is happening B, but I'm getting you out of here.

-How? You don't have any authorization-

I showed her a card that I took from the guard at the entrance.

-How the fuck?

-I learned with a smart girl.-I smiled remembering her.

I slided the card and the magnetic field disappeared. I pressed the button at the timepad and B-15's choker freed from her, she put the necklace at her pocket, then looked at me.

-Talking about smart girl, where is Y/N?

-Ah B...-I sighed- I've made such a huge mistake..!

-I can't be out for one day and you mess up with everything.-She spoke and I chuckled.- What happened?

-I'll tell you on the way, we need to get out of here first-I glanced into her eyes- And you will explain to me about this Variant thing.

We were running through the hallways.

-So you are telling me...-I tried to connect the confusing pieces- That we are all variants?!

-Somehow the Time-Keepers messed with our heads and created the TVA. I know Mobius, I'm not crazy. I saw a whole life in my memories.

-How can you be so sure?

-Because I was happy.-She met her eyes with mine in such a serious aspect that I knew she was telling the truth.- I was truly happy Mobius. I could still feel it.

We were on another area where they kept prisioners, according to B, Y/N would probably be there, it was an area just for high security prisioners. Only the worst of the worst stayed there.

-I wish I realized all this shit earlier so Y/N wouldn't have suffered with you.-She spoke angry at me after I told her all the truth.- You really let Ravonna get to your mind boy!

-I did, I thought I was doing the right thing.

-We all knew killing was never the right thing Mobius.-She spoke.- We always knew. But we just realized it now.

-I feel like shit.

She tapped my shoulder.

-At least you know you were wrong. Now we'll try to fix it.

-She won't forgive me.

-There's only one way to find out.- We stopped in front of some huge metal doors.-Let's rescue her.

Sylvie's POV

I was lied in my cell, my legs touching the walls as I stared at the ceiling.

Who knew I'd die in that shitty corporation I swore to destroy?

-You.-A feminine voice spoke in front of my cell. I turned to its' direction.

A woman in the TVA's uniform standed outside, she had widened eyes at me. I could recognize her. The woman Y/N spoke about. The one I possessed in Roxxcart.

-...You.-I muttered- What do you want?

-Is it true?-She asked- Are we all variants?

I stared at her susprised, she really did knew.

-Yes.

-WHAT THE FUCK-She swore loud surprised.

-Didn't you know that already???

-I had a theory.-She laughed and I couldn't help but chuckle.

-What a damn theory.

She passed a card on the wall and the magnegic field fell.

I looked speachless at the gone barrier. I got up slowly, walking hesitant towards her, what if that was just a trick? What if they were going to kill me after this?

-You did a thing...-She said-With my head...I remembered things...

-Your memories.

-Yes.-She nodded.-Do you...do you know how to brihg them all back?

She seemed sad, very sad by what was happening to her, she also seemed confused, a dilemma reflected in her eyes. Maybe the truth was still very schocking to her.

-Are you sure?

-Yes.

I put my hand next to her head and enchanted it, the green magic bringing all of her memories back. When I stopped a tear scrolled through her cheek.

She opened her eyes, a broken soul.

-I...-She smiled through the tears- I...I have a name...-She chuckled- I have a name....Thank you.

I nodded observing her happiness, for a little moment I had pity for her. Maybe Y/N was right. Maybe not all of the agents were as bad as we thought, maybe they were just manipulated by that sick system.

-Come on-She cleaned her tears- We need to take you out of here.

-You're helping me?- I asked confused.- Why?

-Why wouldn't I?-Her eyes met mine, they were full of gratefulness.- By the way, what's your name?

That was the first time someone didn't call me Loki and actually asked my name.

-Sylvie.-I spoke- Sylvie Laufeydottir.

-Nice to meet you Sylvie.-She standed her hand.

I glanced at it for a second. Something about that woman expired trust, a good character.

-Nice to meet you...-I shaked her hand just realized I didn't know who she was- What should I call you?

-Brooke.-She gave a bright smile- Brooke Adisa.

-A pleasure to meet you Brooke.

-I can say the same about you.

Y/N's POV

I was looking at the ground. Just observing and waiting for them to arrive. I couldn't help but feel anxious. I knew they'd come eventually, I knew I'd die. But it felt so wrong. It felt so wrong dying at that moment when I still didn't make amends with Bee and was still angry at Mobius.

Forget about him. I didn't want to think about him. He wouldn't be my last memory when I'd die. He didn't deserve it.

But why think about him hurt me so much? Why everytime I thought about him I still somehow cared? I felt like a fool. An idiot who couldn't get over him. Not because of the light blue eyes, or the fluffy hair who gave him that cute aspect, neither the body that everytime managed to take my breath away. I still felt like the Mobius who understood me was still there. Somewhere lost, but still there. The same man who made me a home when I was alone, who cared about me in the most lonely nights, who healed my scars. The man who gave me a reason to smile again.

But now he just caused my tears.

I closed my eyes reminiscing memories that seemed like a dream far away. It was time to give up.

-Y/N.

I thought my ears were fooling me. I could hear his voice clear as day.

I opened my eyes and almost jumped from the bench. Standing in front of my cell, the hair messed, the tie alredy all the way to the right, the suit wrinkled. Mobius was there. He really was. Staring at me with those mysterious eyes.

-What are you doing here?-I asked coldly.

-Y/N...I....-He tried to search for the words- I'm sorry...

-Are you here to kill me? Is that it?

-What? No! No! Of course not! How can you say that?

-Just like you can say that I betrayled you and faked our relationship since the beginning.

I think I hit him hatd by saying that. Mobius curved his mouth and glanced at his shoes, did he really realize his mistake? I wouldn't just accept him, it wouldn't be easy like he thought it was.

-I was a fool.

-Yes you were.

-I...I felt hurt Y/N, I know that all of what happened was real.-He tried to explain- Because I felt, I know it was real.

-But you still said that.

-I shouldn't have said. I regret it.

-If that's all you wanted to say then go. I'd like to have some peace before dying.

Mobius took a deep breath, I didn't like to fight but I couldn't just forgive him, he didn't even apologize for everything he did.

-I didn't want that girl to die.-His voice echoed through my ears.

-Then why did you stop me?

-I thought I was doing the right thing.

-Murder an innocent is never right Mobius.

-I see it now. Trust me Y/N...-He sighed- If I could I'd do everything different. I'd do anything I could to save her.

-It's too late now.

-I know.

-Why do you want to apologize? Aren't you a TVA Agent? I'm just a variant.

-You never were just a variant. I've told you that.

-But you changed.

-I was blinded by the TVA.

-And I was blined  by you.-I looked into his eyes.- I thought I could trust you. I...-I made a pause- I loved you Mobius.

-And I love you!

-You love your job more!-I shouted through the metal walls.- You love the sacred timeline, the time-keepers, all this shit more!

-I've always loved you more.

-You were already giving up on me before I ran away.

-That was the only way I could protect you.

-And what if I don't want to be protected Mobius?-I said- What if I only want you by my side? I can protect myself, I've been doing that all this time. All I wanted was someone with me. Soneone who understood me.

-I didn't want you to get hurt-

-Then look at where we are now!

There was a moment in silence between us both.

-You hurt me.-I said- After...After I gave myself to you...After I thought it was love, but you just used me.

-It was love!-He almost touched the magnetic field in the middle of the emotion.- I'd never use you Y/N. All I did....All we did, I loved you in every single second.

I couldn't avoid his gaze at me, it was so intense, so pure. And for a monent I thought I could feel his love towards me.

-I've lost myself in this corporation.-He explained- But you were the one who opened my eyes. You were the one who showed me what is real, what is love.

-So you could throw it away.

-So you could change me.-He continued looking at me.- Because you changed me. For better. You made me a better man. I regret everything I did before you. Everything I did that you disapproved. Everything that made you feel hurt.

-You just see me as an inferior variant.

-I see you as the love of my life.-His words made me tremble.- And no variant is inferior. You showed me that. I'm sorry of how much you had to suffer, how I tried to change who you were, forcing you to pretend everything was fine when it wasn't. I should've understood you. Because that's what it means to love someone.  It's to understand their struggles and help because you truly love them, more than anything else.

He passed a card on the wall and the orange magnetic field disappeared in front of my eyes.

-Do you think that saving me will make me forgive you?-I said getting up from the bench.

-Don't forgive me then.-He said as I was in front of him.- I don't deserve your forgiveness. I'm just doing what's really right this time. Fixing my mistakes.

-Am I a mistake now?

-You are the solution. I am the mistake.

I stared at him for a moment, the eyes crystalline, the expression full of sadness, he looked so destroyed. But at the same time so sincere. But my pride refused, refused to believe in him.

I walked past him, and it felt like slow motion, me ignoring Mobius. Ignoring the burning feelings and memories I had inside.

-Mobius did yo- A familiar voice spoke but stopped.

I saw her. In the hallway. A smile formed on my lips as I saw her standing there, tears came to my eyes.

-Y/N...-Bee muttered with emotion.

-Bee!-I ran towards her and gave her a big hug.

I missed her so much, I worried about her. And she was there, safe in front of me. My friend.

She looked at me again, concerned like a mother, carressing my hair and looking at my aspect.

-Did they hurt you?-She asked.

-No, no. Bee-I told her- I'm so sorry for how I acted last time, I was so selfish, I-

-Shh.-She said.-It's okay. It's okay girl. It's all in the past. What matters is that you are safe.

I hugged her once again and tears rolled through my cheeks, I could hear her crying again, and I realized how precious it was to have her as my friend.

-I don't want to ruin the moment but we should go. Unless you all want to die.-Sylvie spoke.

I aparted from Bee and I saw her there, standing safely behind her. I felt relieved.

-She is right, Ravonna will come soon.-Mobius agreed.

-Oh, you are the jerk.-Sylvie glanced at him.

-What?

I had to hold a laugh. She was too damn honest, oh my God.

-Why is he here?-She already seemed disgusted by his presence.

-He is a jerk but he is helping us.-Bee said giving a reproval gaze at him.-His name is Mobius.

-You must be Sylvie.-He standed a hand to shake hers. She refused.

-Yeah...I've heard about you...-She glanced at me then at him.- Anyway, we should hurry up.

-Yes, this way.-Bee said while walking in front of us.

We needed to take lots of shortcuts to escape the dungeons and avoid guards. According to her, the timepad didn't work at that level of the building, specially made like that so prisioners couldn't escape.

So we had to get back to the hall, don't be captured and escape. All at once.

-Just this last stairs and we'll get there.-She spoke optimistic.

-Not so fast.-A TVA baton was pointed in her direction.

As I stepped foward I had a clear view. On the stairs, Ravonna pointed her baton at my friend's neck, behind her, an army of minute men standed with weapons too. A dead end.

Ravonna glanced at Mobius:

-I should've known. You were infected by these variants.

-Says the variant.-He replied and I was schocked by his answer.

-You know...-Ravonna seemed surprised as well.

-You knew all this time Ravonna? How could you ask us to do all of that? What were you thinking??

-I'm just doing what I'm told.

-This is wrong.

-No. You all are the wrong ones here.-She pointed at each one of us.- All flaws to be reseted. Take them.

She ordered and the guards already started to pull us out of the dungeons. Where to? I didn't know.

An office never seemed so cold before. She was pouring whiskey on her mug slowly while I died inside. The curtains were closed, only the lights on. Ravonna's office was a mess.

The shelves were throwed on the floor, the trophies broken, the desk was lied on the ground, the documents torn, I've never seen a room like that before. Specially because Ravonna was such a meticulous person, it seemed just out of her character.

-Did you like my new decoration?-She chuckled whike drinking the whiskey from the "Best Friend Ever" mug.

-Ravonna you can still change what you're doing.-Mobius insisted.

She laughed, she laughed really loud, almost like those witches' laughs in movies. She even leaned back so her laugh could be heard in the whole room.

-I should change?-She shaked her head- You are the wrong ones here.

-What are you going to do then? Kill us?-I challenged her.

-I'd love to.-She smiled at me.- But I want you to suffer as much as you can. Death isn't enough for you.

-Why do you have to do this Ravonna? Why lie?-Mobius asked.- I trusted you. You were my friend.

-I could say the same Mobius.-She lifted the cup and looked at the writting.- You were a VERY good friend to me.

-But you still lied.

-I lied for the TVA. What about you? You lied for a variant.

-As if you weren't a variant either. Enough with this dialogue, we are all variants here.

-Okay, you lied for her then.-She pointed at me.- You chose her over me.

-Chose what? You were the one who lied about my whole life! Ravonna I-I had a life before and I can't remember it!

-Couldn't it be enough? Couldn't the TVA, me, be enough for you?-Her tone was so hurt, so defensive. I knew that woman loved him, but she loved the TVA and herself more.

-My life and the truth would've been enough.

Ravonna throwed the mug on the floor, the rest of the whiskey splashing through the carpet in a loud sound, the pieces of porcelain shattering and never coming back together again. Just like their broken friendship.

Her eyes seemed mad, I think she was out of her mind already. She took the TVA baton from her belt and I started to panic.

Mobius seemed to know what was going to happen already, he looked at me:

-You asked me once where I'd like to go.- He said- You know where I'd go if I could go anywhere? Wherever it is I'm really from. And wherever I had a life before the TVA came along. Maybe I had a jet ski.-He gave a bitter smile- And I'd take you with me. Somewhere we would be safe and I could love you without being guilty or chased. Where we could be ourselves and grow old together. That's what I'd like to do.

-Mobius...-I tried to speak.

-Just me and you on jet ski.-He gave a sad soft laugh as a tear rolled down his cheek.

Ravonna's baton sparkled and pointed at him. She stabbed him with it while he stared at me.

-NO!-I yelled.

His hand reached for my face, gently caressing it as tears fell through both our eyes.

-Mobius no, Mobius please...-I sobbed- I love you...I forgive you....don't go....

He gave a light smile and through all that pain he felt he started to disappear in front of my eyes. He leaned with the rest of strentgh he had and put something on the palm of my left hand. Then he was consumed in a light glow, a glow that took him from me.

I just could see fastly the blue eyes staring at me one last time before he left.

He disappeared like he has never been there before.

I couldn't even speak anymore. I just sobbed while she still held her baton. I wanted to kill her at that moment but I couldn't.

I felt like a part of me died along with him, my heart bleeded and I dropped on my knees, touching the floor where he standed before. There was nothing. He wasn't there. I was alone.

I noticed what he put in my hands. Our heart shaped padlock.

"They believe it makes love last forever" the memories tortured me.

Some guards entered and started to drag me out of the room along with Ravonna. I didn't even feel their presence, I didn't even care.

A thousand cuts killed my soul at that moment, and all I wanted was him. All I wanted was dead.

I could never find happiness in my life.

I could remember his touch, his laughs, his kisses, everything in my mind, and the realization of never experiencing that again, of never seeing him again, made me scream as the guards dragged me to an elevator.

I just realized I was in it when I saw Sylvie and B-15 there too.

-Where is Mobius...?-Bee asked but just by looking at me she knew the answer.

-He's dead.-Ravonna spoke triumphant in the same elevator as us.

Bee exhaled heavily, held back the tears and tried to be strong. I couldn't.

Sylvie on the other way stared angry at the Judge, like she remembered her from an unknwon past.

-Can I ask you something?-She said.

-You are already asking.-Ravonna replied.

-What was my Nexus Event?

I just observed them, I was now crying in silence. Renslayer thought for a moment, she did a sassy villain expressions and smiled:

-You know?-She spoke- I don't remember.

I could the feel the weight of those words at Sylvie, she lost balance for a moment, relying on Bee's figure by her side. The eyes completely stopped and she realized: for the TVA we were just a number, just another variant. Everything was a game where we were pieces played by the Time-Keepers.

And if you weren't useful you were discarded.

Just like Mobius was.

The doors opened, a cold feeling inside my stomach kept telling me something bad was going to happen. But what could be worse than what happened? I've lost everything already.

Ravonna made us get out of the elevator, a strange breeze passed through us as we entered a dark room, maybe empty because our footsteps echoed on the ground.

I gasped by what I saw, standing there, grandiously, magnificiently, were no one else than them, The Time-Keepers. Or what I thought they were.

Three gigantic aliens on a huge pedestal with stairs were sitting in their thrones, behind them, a strange draw in red was in the wall, it glowed brightly and was the only source of light in that darkness.

I glanced at Sylvie, she was just as speechless as I was, no wonder why, she was waiting for that moment her whole life.

-Gracious Time-Keepers, here they are as promised, the variants.-Ravonna got back to her composture being all polite to the strange figures.

A strong voice awakaned us:

-Welcome Variants.-The Alien on the center spoke, his eyes had bright yellow glow that made me tremble.

-You are in big trouble.-Another one on the left smiled, he was totally green like a frog and had a moustache made of his own skin.-What do you have to say for yourselves before your death?

-You're all a bunch of assholes. I hate you.-I said already pissed off.

Ravonna took her baton and pointed at me:

-Don't you dare say that to the Time-Keepers again.-She threatned, but to be honest, I didn't care anymore if they were going to kill me.

-No need to use violence Judge.-The alien on the right spoke, this one had big double eyebrows- You variants are no threat to us.

-Well I think-Sylvie was going to move but Ravonna stopped her with the control of her choker- ...I think you're scared.

-No variants...-The middle one spoke in a serene voice- You are nothing but a cosmic disappointment.-He made a suspenseful pause- Delete them.

-No, I'm not done with you yet!-Sylvie tried to walk again but Ravonna stopped her.

Ravonna was about to use her baton on us when something suddenly made her stop. When I glanced, she was using a TVA choker. Behind her, B-15 had taken away the guards and grabbed the control from her hands:

-For all time...always.-She pressed the button and freed us.

The guards awakaned again, coming at us with their weapons, Bee tried to keep Ravonna tied, even though the judge insisted to fight. Sylvie didn't even need her dagger, she grabbed a baton from one of the guards and with impressive moves she attacked them, I tried in any way I could to don't hurt myself.

But a guard bumped into Bee, the control fell on the ground and Ravonna grabbed it, freeing herself.

-PROTECT THE TIME-KEEPERS!-She shouted.

She grabbed a TVA baton and came after me, Bee was taking care of some guards with Sylvie, while I didn't have a weapon to defend myself. The Time-Keepers only watched the scene.

-Mobius trusted you.-I groaned at her.-He was your friend and you still killed him!

She pointed the baton at me:

-The TVA comes first.-She spoke.-And besides, I'd rather see him die than leave me for a variant.

-AAAAHHH!-I yelled freaking out and ran towards her direction.

I went to the ground, managing to swipe my leg and make her fall, but she still managed to run and grabbed the baton again.

-CHICKEN!-Bee shouted and throwed a baton at my direction.

I got up and, remembering my trains, started to fight against Ravonna. Her perfect hair was messed, the eyes craving for my blood, she had lost completely her mind for that purpose.

I punched her in the face, injuring her chin, she stared at me back with anger, cleaned the blood and kicked me, I managed to stay balanced but that really hurt and made me dizzy

Bee and Sylvie were finishing the guards, while I was being beated up by Ravonna. She throwed me on the ground, I hurt my back and stared at her pointing the baton at me, about to prune me just like she did to Mobius.

-Not so fast, bitch-Something hit her head and she fell unconscious on the ground. Sylvie had done that.-You ok?

-Thanks...-I said and she standed her hand, I got up still in pain.

With the guards destroyed, us three walked towards the time Keepers' direction. Them three just stared at us and didn't fear at all.

Sylvie was already prepared to kill them, taking a knife from one of the guards, she walked towards the thrones.

-You're a child of the Time-Keepers too Sylvie.-The alien from the center tried to bargain.- We can talk.

I glanced at Sylvie, would she believe them? I'd never forgive that corporation.

-Oh, yeah?-She spoke ironically then throwed her knife.

The blade followed a perfect and precise direction, hitting the alien of the center's neck, cutting it, and making his head fall, roll through the stairs until reaching our feet. The others by his side just laughed, laughed horribly, almost like we made a great joke, I had chills, something was wrong.

I looked at the head on the ground, then, when Sylvie was grabbing a baton to kill the rest, I yelled:

-WAIT!

Before we could do anything the other Time-Keepers suddenly stopped, like machines, with no movements at all, they just stopped, the eyes stopped to glow, the bodies didn't do anything else.

Sylvie turned back at me, her gaze surprised just as I was. Bee grabbed the head from the ground:

-What the fuck is this?-She showed it to us.

The head, an irony of the destiny, was all robotic, with wires coming out from where the neck was ripped off. Sylvie had crystalline and disappointed eyes, she held the head in her hands to make sure she wasn't crazy.

It wasn't the end. That couldn't be. It seemed all like a damn joke at us.

-It's fake.-She muttered in schock.- Just mindless androids.- She throwed the head on the ground. Then walked around stepping hard on the floor, stopping behind me.- I thought this was it...

I looked at Sylvie and before I could say anything Ravonna sneaked from behind, grabbed a baton from the floor and pulled into the variant.

-SYLVIE-Me and Bee reacted at the same time.

She stared at us schocked, the eyes wide staring into nothing, the mouth opened as she noticed she was stabbed. Behind her, Ravonna had a creepy smile on her lips.

The blonde hair slowly disappeared with a huge glow from the prunement, Sylvie standed her arm, just like a little girl asking for help at me, but disappeared in front of our eyes.

-YOUR FUCKING BASTARD-Bee kicked Ravonna as she laughed still on the ground.

-Just one left.-She smiled and pointed at me.- Just one....hahahaha- She was insane.

-Where are the real Time-Keepers, what the fuck is this Ravonna?-I asked.

-Hahaha.....If you get to know, tell me about it too....-She didn't know as well, and probably wouldn't either since she had lost her mind.

-Let's kill her.-I told Bee as she grabbed the baton and pointed at her.

-Wait!-She begged- And what if I tell you that she isn't dead? That Mobius is not dead, not yet.

I told Bee to stop for a moment and I looked into Ravonna's brown eyes, was that just a sick trick of hers? How could they possibly be alive? I didn't want to have false expectatives, I didn't want to hurt myself more than I already was.

-You are lying.-I told her.

-Maybe.-She replied-Or maybe we want the same thing.

-How can we save them? -Bee asked- And how saving him will get us close to discover who's behind the TVA?

-It's complicated- She spoke and Bee still pointed the baton at her threatning.-I'm saying the truth....I want to know who lied to me.- She made a pause and started to explain- When we prune a branch reality it's impossible to destroy it completely. So we move it to a place on the timeline where it won't keep growing. Basically the branch timeline isn't reset. It's tranferred.

-To where?-I asked.

-To a void at the end of time.

-The end of time? You're lying-Bee commented.- We should kill her already.

-Why does this happen?-I continued asking Ravonna.

-I don't know. -She sniffed- The dogma says that the Time-Keepers are transforming it into a future Utopia. Where the time is completely paralyzed.

-Nice, another children's tale.-Bee replied.

-Whatever is the reason...-Ravonna's expression turned dark- Nothing comes back from there.

-So you're telling me that all this time you just kept...Throwing people in this void? And you don't even know what it is??-I asked and she stood quiet.- You should be the one pruned for being a stupid.

-You need to trust me.-She said.

Bee and I glanced at each other, then lifted her from the floor. Ravonna standed her hand at us.

-What?-I asked.

-My timepad that you stole-She ordered.

-Hell no.-Bee replied.- Tell us what to search. We are not giving you anything.

-How would you know what to search? I'm not-

I took a baton and pointed at her:

-Yes you will. Now say it.-I growled at her.

Ravonna stared at me angry, probably knew I wouldn't be fooled by her games.

-We need to call Miss Minutes.-She sighed.

-I hate that clock.-I rolled my eyes.

-I thought I was the only one.-Bee chuckled and pressed the buttons at the timepad.

-Hey y'all!-The orange clock appeared bright in the middle of the darkness.

I indicated for Ravonna to speak.

-Miss Minutes search about the beginning of the TVA and the Sacred Timeline.-She said.

-Okie dokie!-She started searching through levitating holographic files around her.

-Wait, the beginning? Shouldn't we search about the end?-I questioned.

-It's just a void.-Ravonna replied.

-But if it keeps being written then it's not over.-Bee thought- What if it isn't the end? What if there's something beyond it?

Ravonna looked at miss minutes as she stopped, she nodded with her head to the clock  ordering her to do what we were saying.

Miss Minutes stopped in a file and showed a graphic of a straight line in space.

-If Sylvie could hide herself in apocalypses because she couldn't create branches...-I started to say- Whatever happens in this end just create a new timeline. A Nexus Event couldn't happen. It would be undetectable too.

-That's it.-Ravonna looked impressed-That's the only place they could be...!

-So how do you pass past the void?- Bee asked.

-It's impossible. There's no destination to the timepad, you can't just go there.-Ravonna answered.

-Then we'll just get through it.

-No, it's suicide. It's impossible.

-Wait!-Miss Minutes interrupted-What about The Void Spacecraft?

We three stared at each other then at the clock.

-It's...a prototype created to cross the void.-Ravonna explained.

Bee and I continued quiet. Ravonna gesticulated to Miss Minutes to search the file.

-We can find who's behind all of this.-Ravonna assured.

-And find Mobius and Sylvie.-I added.

-Together.-She standed her hand at me, Bee stared at me not believing at the alliance.

I shaked Ravonna's hand but continue holding it afterwards:

-Miss Minutes where are the files on this spacecraft?-I questioned.

-Uh...still lookin' hon'.-She replied.

Did she just call me hon'? Did Miss Minutes just treated me "nicely"? Oh shit, something was wrong. Bee understood what was happening:

-Nothing yet?-Bee asked.

-Hm...buried very deep.-She said while running her fingers through the circle of files.

-It's highly restricted, that's why it takes some time...-Ravonna tried to explain.

-It's a lie.-Bee spoke.-She's just trying to take some time. I bet the clock is warning the hunters already.

Both Miss Minutes and Ravonna stared at us surprised, we had discovered their conspiracy plan against us.

-Bee.-I glanced at my friend- There's only one way.

-Y/N no, it's too dangerous.-She spoke concerned.

-Can you handle here alone?

-I can but what about you? What if they're not really there and you just get stuck in the end of time? Who guarantees she's saying the truth?

-No one can guarantee.-I looked at Ravonna then at Bee- But I can't just let him go.

Bee nodded with her head in silence and hugged me fastly and gave me one timepad from a hunter. She still needed to look out for Ravonna, she put a choker around the judge's neck.

-Oh, Y/N, before you go.-Bee gave a smile as I grabbed the baton and pointed to myself- I know my whole life again. I have a name. I'm Brook Adisa.

I smiled at her, tears came to my eyes realizing how much my friend must've been glad to have her memories back.

-I'm so happy for you.-I smiled while I met her gaze.- I love you Brooke. Thank you for being my friend.

-I love you too.-She chuckled.-Please be careful girl. And bring them back.

-I will.

I looked at the baton in front of me, took a deep breath, looked again at the dark room around me and did it.

I pulled the baton against myself in a suicidal act, the glow consuming me slowly.

When you prune yourself there's still pain, it's like someone stabbed you millions of times until your skin seem to burn and disappear.

But the pain was irrelevant to what I felt when Mobius and Sylvie were stabbed.

Wherever I was going now, I just wanted them safe. I didn't care about my fate.

I just closed my eyes and held the padlock on my hand, prepared to the unknown.

The Void, here we go.
