40 Hours Earlier...

Klaus and Camilla lay on the couch in the Mikaelson mansion panting in heavy breaths.

"I told you the couch would be uncomfortable!" Cami playfully smacks his chest when she remembers it was his suggestion to do this.

Klaus throws his head back into a pillow with a loud laugh. "I just couldn't help it, you were teasing me." He defends himself with his hands raised in mock surrender.

She gapes at him in disbelief. "I was taking a selfie on my phone to send to our CHILDREN."

"Hey don't blame me, It's not my fault you're so beautiful." He shrugs.

Smacking him upside the head she couldn't help but return his beaming smile at his words. He definitely knew how to charm her, even after all of these years.

"Don't forget that the kids have a surprise for us tonight." Camilla informs him with an excited glint in her eyes.

Rolling his eyes with a fond smile he scoffs, "Yeah or in Lizzie's words it's not a surprise it's our 'going away' gift."

Smacking him in the arm he yells in pain. "Why are you so violent today woman!"

"I've been thinking..." she suddenly says, completely ignoring his question. "There's something I've never seen."

"I told you I wasn't going to the Great Wall of China with you." He rolls his eyes. "All it is, is, a large wall. It's for simple minded tourists. I am not a simple minded human."

"I wasn't going to say the Great Wall of China you shut down that idea months ago." She scoffs. "I want to see your wolf."

Klaus immediately shakes his head. "No."

Her face falls. "Why not?"

"I'd like to think I have good control over my wolf but it's still a wolf's natural instinct to kill vampires." He explains. "Didn't Tyler try killing Caroline on multiple occasions?" He points out.

"But you and your wolf are still one!" She exclaims. "And if you love me your wolf will know not to hurt me. Plus you're a stronger minded wolf, or hybrid than he ever was!"

He shakes his head again. "As much as I am loving this ego boost the answer is still no, absolutely not. We're not testing this off of a simple theory of yours."

"We can chain you up!" She begs. "Please I just want to see your wolf."

Sighing to himself at the stubborn woman he gives in. "I will be chained and Elijah and Kol will be there if anything goes wrong to swoop you out."

Cami nods her head excitedly. "I'll go get them!"

He opens his mouth in protest, they were having a relaxing day and he had figured she was talking about another day or time but she was gone and out of the door before he could even get a word out. Rolling his eyes with a small smile he's quick to follow her trail.

Ending up at the boarding house he notices Kol and Elijah were already stood outside with the blonde looking very wary.

"Are you out of your bloody mind?" Kol questions his brother as soon as he stopped by the three.

"Why don't you change her mind?" Klaus suggests with a raised brow. Kol sighed knowing he was right. "Fine where are we doing this?"

"There are some cellars for the wolves here in the basement." Camilla walks into the school with a pep in her step.

All three men simultaneously give each other a look as they flank her into the school.

They notice Caroline, Davina, Elena, and Damon on their way and they all send them confused glances. Caroline especially when they notice them going into the basement.

"Where are you going?" Caroline questions her sister.

"To see Klaus' wolf! Wanna join?" She jumps up in down.

"I've always wondered what the big bad Wolf looked like as, well you know, a wolf." Damon teases.

"Why don't you invite the whole school while you're at it love." Klaus grumbles as the four follow them down the steps.

"Awe don't be mad." She pouts. "I just wanna share this precious moment with them."

"It was meant to be an intimate moment, Elijah and Kol are just there for protection and caution. Now it's ruined." He scoffs.

"Yeah! Because there's something intimate about getting your face eaten off by a wolf." Damon jokes, everyone sends him a dead pan glance not being amused.

"Well here they are." Camilla says opening a large room with many chains attached to the cemented walls.

"This is a lot nicer than the cellars I've seen in my life." Klaus compliments his lover indirectly. He still can't believe she did all of this, it was amazing how much differently she made her life after the supernatural took over her own.

"Thanks, we designed it so that the wolves didn't feel less than anyone else." She perks up at the compliment.

"Alright let's chain you up." Kol claps his hands like a child on Christmas.

"Don't be too sad you're chaining your brother up like a dog now brother." Klaus sarcastically states.

"You are a dog Niklaus." Elijah rolls his eyes.

Before Nik can argue Camilla gently pushes him towards the chains and is the one to help him. She's careful not to hurt him in any way and he's never felt her touch to be so soft.

"What's wrong, love?" Klaus lifts her chin with one of his chained up hands when he notices everyone else in their own conversations.

Camilla sadly sighs and reluctantly says, "I wish I didn't have to chain you like this, I wish you could be yourself with out chains."

A smile breaks out onto Klaus' face at her statement. Softly kissing her forehead he chuckles. "You are the most precious thing in this world, love. The chains are simply for your protection and nothing makes me happier than protecting you. Okay?" He finishes.

"Okay." She whispers as he latched on the last chain to his ankle.

"So we're ready then?" Kol questions and Klaus nods.

He looks towards Cami. "Back up, love." He softly whispers.

Damon pulls elena behind him, Kol pulls davina behind himself, and Elijah does the same with Caroline.

Cami nods and backs up staring intensely down at him.

Klaus stares right back into her eyes and she softly gasps as his hybrid eyes come out and he drops to the floor. She expects a yell of pain as she hears his bones breaking but he's silent. She figures that all these years after breaking the curse has built his pain tolerance.

Soon enough in less than ten seconds a giant dark brown wolf with shaded dirty blond hair stood in front of them. The thing that surprised them all was that he had maintained eye contact with Cami the whole time.

Camilla takes a step forward in awe but Kol is quick to pull her back, seeing someone pulling Camilla back made Klaus growl in warning.

Camilla attempts to take another step now curious but Damon is the one to yank her back, not In a rough way but in a stern way.

Barring his razor sharp teeth the wolf lets out an even louder growl and attempts to break the chains.

"I think we should leave now." Kol announces to the group who all keep a close eye on the wolf who simply stared at Damon that had kept his hand on her arm, effectively holding her back.

"Wait!" Elijah shouts over the loud growls. "I think he's trying to protect her. He sees Damon as a threat to Camilla."

"You really want to test that?" Kol shouts at his brother.

"I do." Camilla says.

"No!" Everyone in the group except Elijah, Davina, and Camilla yell.

Davina agreed with Elijah's theory but knew Kol was way too protective to agree with the three.

Camilla rolls her eyes. "He's not going to hurt me."

"Scream." Davina nudges her.

"Don't you dare." Damon harshly whispers to the blond.

Camilla looks between the two for a second before screaming as loud as she could.

Klaus' wolf almost immediately pushes itself off of the ground successfully breaking the chains. The wolf pushes his body against Damon's making the vampire fly into the wall with a groan.

"Damon!" Elena and Caroline yell.

"It's fine, I'm good." He utters grumpily.

"Cami don't move." Elijah carefully tells her when he realizes she had fallen during the small attack too.

She was directly under the wolf on her back as he stood over her on all four paws.

"See! He was protecting her." Davina points out to her husband.

Kol rolls his eyes at his wife's smug tone.

Elijah attempts to walk forward but the wolf growls once more.

"You guys should go." Camilla says from underneath the wolf. She wouldn't lie and say she wasn't the tiniest bit scared but this was her Nik. He wouldn't hurt her.

"Are you crazy!" Damon yells as he dusts himself off.

"Listen to her." Caroline speaks to the group. Some look at her like she's crazy.

"Caroline no!" Elena yells.

"He's not going to hurt her listen to her!" Caroline shouts annoyed.

Everyone reluctantly follows her out and once the door is closed Camilla notices the wolf slightly let down its guard as he looks down towards her.

"Nik?" She whispers with a growing smile.

The wolf yips and playfully licks her cheek making her giggle.

"Can I sit up?" She questions the wolf.

Klaus slowly backs away yet stays as close as possible as she sits up onto her knees.

The wolf is visibly surprised when she wraps her arms around his large neck.
Camilla enjoys the moment and slowly opens her eyes. Her eyes widen in surprise when she notices a small orange spot of fur behind his ears. She opens her mouth so say something about it but decides not to, not wanting to ruin the moment.

Nudging her head and arms away with his snout he walks towards the cellar door and gestures from her to the door with his head.

Shaking her head she narrows her eyes at the wolf. "No you silly wolf! There are hundreds of kids wandering the halls you can't just walk around!"

The wolf huffs and gestures towards the door again.

Hesitantly she walks towards the door and places her hand on the lock. Looking at the wolf it whines when it notices her hesitation. With that she opens the door and the wolf immediately begins to trot towards the back exit.

"You want to go to the fields?" She questions as she walks next to the wolf.

The wolf doesn't answer just simply continues walking at a pace that made sure she could walk alongside him.

Once they made it to the furthest part of the trees the wolf stops.

"Why did you bring me all the way here?" Camilla questions curiously, she knows he couldn't answer of course, and she knows that Klaus and the wolf were slightly different people but at the same time one person but she couldn't help but voice her questions out loud.

The wolf slightly kneels on the ground gesturing to its large back. "You want me to ride you?"

Her face heats up but it goes away when she realizes the wolf was staring at her with a blank look. Rolling her eyes she throws her legs over his back. "Even grumpy as a wolf." She grumbles.

The wolf snaps it's teeth in warning but she knows it's just his ego being hurt; of course it's ego matches Niks.

"Where are you taking me?" She huffs as they leave the schools property.

The wolfs whining makes her stop her thoughts and look towards him in confusion.

"What's wrong?" She questions and pets the top of its head.

The wolf just continues whining as it runs faster and faster away from the school.
