Landon Kirby was gone. He left the school like he was compelled to do. But there was one problem. He took an ancient knife with him.
There was a bus full of burnt people and no Landon Kirby in sight. Hope was infuriated.
They had talked a couple of times, she tended to isolate herself away from people now because she was too busy grieving over her mother or trying to find a way to bring her back.
But boy was she angry. She was angry she trusted him with her life story. She was angry that she told the human boy about her mother. Only for him to steal from her moms school.
"I need your help." Is the first thing that Josie hears when she opens her door.
"With what?" She questions curiously and slightly worried when she sees the distant look in her sisters eyes.
"I can't ask Lizzie because she's been preoccupied but please help me." Hope practically begs, but leaves no clue as to what she's talking about.
Josie searches her face, looking for any type of clue but comes up with nothing. Slowly opening the door she lets her sister into her room.

"I need your help." Is the first thing Klaus Mikaelson hears when he opens the door to the Mikaelson home.
"I never thought I'd be hearing those words from your mouth Alaric Saltzman." He teases coyly. But his face slowly drops when he sees Alaric's face remain solemn. "What is it?"
Alaric steps into the house with a frustrated face and pushes Klaus out of the way, but not in an unfriendly way.
"Landon Kirby." He explains in two words, too deep in thought to explain any further.
"Is that supposed to mean something to me?" Klaus asks confused.
"One of the two boys that I introduced you to a couple of days ago." Alaric says, motioning his hand in a hurry motion.
"Okay. What about the human?" Klaus asks again, thinking he was gone and out of mind a while ago.
"We compelled him to leave, it didn't work the first couple of times. Eventually He did leave. The only thing is, the compulsion didn't work. He left and took an ancient knife that, frankly, I have no idea what it does." Alaric says, getting into a rant while pacing. "But a bus was found on highway seven, everyone's body was burnt to a crisp and Landon was the only one missing."
Klaus' eyebrows scrunch. "I thought he was human."
"That's what we thought too. I need to find him. I could use a thousand year old hybrid's help." Alaric reluctantly says.
Klaus raises an eyebrow but nods his head. "I'll come."
The two begun walking out of the front door when Alaric mentally winces. "Hope is coming."
"Absolutely not! We don't know what this boy is capable of!" Klaus says, immediately getting angered.
"I told her not to come." Alaric defends himself. "But... she's taking this personally. And well, she's Cami's daughter."
"No one could ever stop that stubborn woman from doing anything." Klaus grumbles with a roll of his eyes knowing his daughter inherited the very same trait from her. "She's staying by us at all times."

Arriving at the school Alaric and Klaus walk into a heated argument between the Waithe boy and Hope.
"You're not coming. We don't need you." Hope seethes in anger and annoyance.
"You are not hurting my brother!" Rafael is quick to snap back. "The look on your eyes is one of revenge. Yeah I know all about you too. The girl who doesn't have very many friends."
Klaus, having had enough of this spat joins the conversation. "Enough mate, I may have retired the big bad hybrid image but I will tear out your throat if you talk to my daughter like that again."
Alaric clears his throat jumping in before things could get even more tense.ย "Rafael put the part back in the car." Turning towards Hope he says. "He's coming with, we need someone Landon trusts."
Hope rolls her eyes and stomps into the car.
"What did he mean Hope doesn't have very many friends? She made plenty as far as I knew when we first arrived back into town." Klaus quietly questions the head master.
Alaric sighs and frowns a bit. "After Camilla's death... she's begun to isolate herself from everyone. Except the twins. Jace and Alec don't hear much from her anymore but she ignores everyone else."
"I didn't even notice." Klaus whispers more towards himself sadly.
"Don't blame yourself." Alaric assures the hybrid, something he never thought he would be caught doing. "She's her mother's daughter. She'll be okay."
"She's also her fathers daughter and I'm afraid of what she'll do with that." Klaus murmurs before getting into the passenger seat of the car.

"He's around here somewhere." Alaric whispers. "Do not engage with him, he could be dangerous."
Rafael scoffs, "He's no more dangerous than Hope."
"Alright everyone let's just split up and find him!" Alaric whispers harshly to stop the two teens from bickering.
All their heads snap towards a dark skinned lady who was wearing worn out clothing just staring at them.
"Hey!" Alaric shouts towards her but she begins to run away, Klaus and Alaric immediately following.
Leaving Hope and Rafael staring at each other.

"How come you didn't go with dad?" Lizzie questions her elder brothers.
"We have to play flag football with you guys!" Jace says in mock excitement.
Shoving his chest lightly Lizzie rolls her eyes. "It's not that bad."
"Mom was supposed to coach this game." Alec says staring off into the distance where Darian was putting on a baseball cap.
Each of the teens exchange a silent glance.
"Well let's win this for her." Jace says, trying to cheer the bunch up.
"We're not supposed to win." Josie reminds them with a cautious glance.
"It's for mom." Lizzie encourages her twin sister.
"Yeah... for mom." Josie whispers as she watches her siblings walk away with a new found energy to win.

Alaric and Klaus sit in the front seat fuming with an asleep Rafael and Landon in the back seat. Next to them Hope watches out the window in frustration.
As soon as they arrived at the school Hope hops out of the car as fast as she could but before she could take two steps away Klaus is calling her name.
Turning around she sees her father and Alaric standing there with both their arms crossed with identical esteem looks.
"Hey what's going on?" Questions Caroline warily with a curious Elijah at her side.
"Well tell her Hope." Klaus says mockingly, still angry at his daughter.
"I did dark magic Okay?!" Hope shouts, throwing her hands in the air in anger.
"Hope dark magic can kill you!" Caroline says in shock.
"Would that be such a bad thing!?"
Hope yells, shocking all the adults into silence. "I'm a freak accident, a loop hole, I was never supposed to be born. And my moms dead."
A couple of the adults came out towards the entrance having heard the yelling match from across the school.
"Hope, your mother never would've wanted you to feel like this." Elena says with a frown.
"My mother is dead. And what's the point in being this all powerful tribrid if I can't even bring her back. If I couldn't even save her." Hope yells frantically. Her head suddenly pounding.
"Calm down, Hope." Klaus says gently, beginning to approach her.
"Leave! Me! Alone!" She yells, a circle of fire suddenly surrounding her as she falls to her knees crying.
Damon stares at the teenager in sadness and pity. Because she was so young and already burdened with so much pain. So much sadness.
"Hey kiddo..." He whispers knowing she could hear him as he kneels far away from the fire to not get burned.
"She may be gone. But you bet your ass she's watching over you. She's watching every happy, sad, angry, moment you have. She's listening to your pleas for her to come back. She's next to you at night when you're crying alone in your bed." He says, as everyone watches in sadness as the fire slowly begins to die down.
"And she'll be next to you when you have your first heart break. She'll be next to you when you get married. When you have your bad days and when you have your good days. She'll always be there." He whispers.
"How do you know?" She sniffles, taking deep breaths in attempt to calm her on coming panic attack.
"Because I died once or twice. And I got to watch every single moment of the people that I loved live ." He says knowing the other side collapsed many years ago, in honestly he doubted Camilla could see them like he did. But he knew the girl needed to hear it.
The fire dies around the tribrid and she's left a sobbing mess as she cries for her mom.
Damon speeds towards her and quickly lifts her bridal style into his arms and begins taking her towards her dorm room.
"I don't know what to do anymore." Alaric says as he wipes his tears. "Lizzie acts perfectly fine but I know she's just pretending. I know that her magic goes out of control all the time when she's having her break downs. Josie has gotten quiet again, living in her sisters shadow on purpose hoping no one bothers her. Jace and Alec just train all day long, every day. They aren't grieving the right way and I know I can't push them. Hell i'm not grieving the right way. She was the one that always delt with these things."
"The only thing you can do is give it time." Freya replies when the rest of the adults only stand in silence.
"Time doesn't always heal all wounds." Kol Mikaelson whispers, before taking his wife's hand and walking away.
