"The world would seem so dark without her to guide him to the light."

"You can't do it." Camilla raises her voice at the hybrid once again.

It had been about twenty minutes since Niklaus had first told her his master suicide plan and she was now standing up with her arms crossed, at least four feet away from him with an angered expression across her face.

"Actually Love, it's my decision." He muses with a fake smirk in her direction.

"You're going to leave Hope, Jace, Alec, the twins! You're going to leave all of them!" She stresses, making wild hand gestures in attempt to get her point across.

"They'd understand." He simply says.

"No they wouldn't! None of them handle grief well Niklaus!" She yells, her face getting red with anger. "You can't do this. I won't let you. I won't let you do this all because of me."

"Do you not understand?" He drops his smirk and his eyes stare intensely back into hers. "There is no point in living if you're not living with me. They will grow up to fall in love, they will make mistakes and learn from them, they will have children! There will be no point for me here because you'll be gone."

"What about your siblings?" She narrows her eyes and placing her hands on her hips.

"We've lived a thousand years together, they'd all be glad to finally get a break from me." He points at her with a raised brow.

She opens her mouth to continue her argument when her phone buzzes. Huffing out a breath of air she harshly grabs her phone out of her back pocket and her eyes widen at the time and message.

From: Koala bear
You're twenty minutes late for the trip you planned darling.

"I have to go." She mumbles and turns around to walk away. Klaus watches her back for a few seconds before speeding in front of her. "I don't have time to keep arguing with you Nik."

She tries to side step him but he only speeds in front of her again, gently brushing the hair out of her face. "I'm not trying to argue this time, love. I just don't want us to part on bad terms."

He slowly leans down and lays a gentle kiss on her forehead before whispering, " Be safe. I want you to know that I love you more than you could ever imagine."

Camilla closes her eyes with a soft smile at his words. Oh how much things have changed over the years.
"I love you too." She whispers, giving him a kiss on the cheek before walking away to collect her bags.

Rolling her luggage towards the garage doors she stops when she hears loud rushed footsteps.

Turning around with a raised brow she's pleasantly surprised when she sees Alec, Jace, and Hope.

"How could you leave and not tell us, we had to find out from the twins." Alec pants as they all struggle to catch their breaths from their long run.

Jace suddenly launches himself onto his mother as he pleads. "I'm sorry mama, just please don't leave again."

"We're all sorry." Hope looks down with a small frown in shame.

"I didn't do anything wrong." Alec shrugs when both of his siblings turn towards him. "But don't leave because of what they said, you're an amazing mom. Don't leave mom."

Camilla stifles a small laugh at all three of their rambling but eventually decides to put it to a stop and end their misery.

"I'm not leaving forever my babies." She cooes into Jace's hair.

"You're not?" Alec questions in relief.

Camilla giggles as Jace detaches himself from her. "No I'm not. I just have some things I have to do. I'll be gone for two days max, but probably not even that long."

"We are still really um- sorry." Hope whispers while avoiding eye contact with her mother.

Bringing the small girl into a warm hug she says. "It's okay baby, I understand. You guys were hurt and overwhelmed, and you had every right to be."

"But we shouldn't have said those things." Hope stutters.

"You're teenagers." Camilla laughs. "You still have a few more years which means many things that you're going to regret are going to come out of your mouths but as long as you learn from it then it's okay."

Making eye contact with Alec, Jace subtly nudges his head towards their mother and in sync they both tackle her into another hug.

"I love you Mama."

"I love you so much Mom."

Jace and Alec speak in sync.

Hope huffs out a mock annoyed breath. "Why am I always left out?"

"I'm the cooler twin." Jace shrugs.

Camilla laughs at the two and gives them all a kiss on the cheek as she hears a car honk right outside the doors. "I love you all, behave!" She warns before walking out of the Salvatore boarding school.

Her smile widens as she sees none other than Kol Mikaelson leaning against the bright yellow convertible. "You know, when you said we were traveling in style I thought you meant... well style." He cheekily teases.

"Oh shut up and get in the car." She waves him off and quickly catches the car keys being thrown her way.

Camilla buckles her seatbelt in as Kol watches in amusement. "We're immortals darling. I hate to be the one to break this to you, but a car crash won't kill us."

"You're just fired up and ready with all kinds of sass today aren't you?" Camilla questions sarcastically with a smile.

"Don't try to act like you don't like it. Lying doesn't look good on you." He chuckles lightly. "You know, you never even told me where we were going and why I had to come with. Not that I mind of course."

"You'll see where we're going when we get there and you're coming with me because your brother is paranoid and Damon's not ready." She explains carefully.

"Cryptic. I like it." He shrugs. "And come on, Nik has always been paranoid, that's never going to change."

"It might." She doesn't realize that she said it out loud until she catches Kol staring at her befuddled.

"Are you alright? I know that you've always had high hopes that he would change, but expecting his paranoia to go away is borderline insane." He expresses in mock concern.

"His paranoia might go away if he goes away." She whispers quietly.

"I'm not understanding what you mean..." he trails off, his face becoming one of genuine confusion.

"He told me tonight... that if I die." She takes a deep breath. "That he's going to kill himself alongside me."

Kol's breath hitches in his throat. Sure, he and his brother had some problems in the past. But he was still his brother who he has stood by for over a thousand years and to know that he was willingly going to kill him self made the original wish he could knock some sense into his big brother. Beg him not to go through with it.

But then he thought of Davina. How he, himself would feel if he knew she was going to die. And he realized he would do the same exact thing, maybe even before she died just so that he didn't have to feel the immense pain he is sure would come if he had to watch the life drain from her eyes.

Camilla Forbes was someone he was already grieving for, because he knows that no matter what happens between now and her death period, nothing will stop it from happening. That's just how witch business works, there's always a balance somewhere. And now he would have to start grieving his older brother.

When he's finally able to form a coherent thought again he clears his throat that felt like it was closing. "Rebekah and Elijah... do they know?"

Camilla solemnly shakes her head no and tightens her grip on the steering wheel. " I told him he couldn't do it. He has so much to live for, his siblings, the kids, there's so much more to his life than just me."

"You're so blind." Kol chuckles sadly. "He was still a bloody mess when I came back from the dead for what seems like the hundredth time in New Orleans."

"Caroline told him, the first time that I died. She told him that I used to check up on him in New Orleans." She admits. " What she didn't know though was that I met Camille."

Kol's head snaps towards the blonde in awe, not knowing what to say. It had been a while since he heard that name, he had to admit he didn't particularly hate the very empathetic therapist , and to a certain extent she did remind himself of Camilla a little bit.

Camilla chuckles some what bitterly. "Caroline knew that I saw him out strolling in the French Quarter, happy with a blonde. But what she doesn't know is that I talked to her. She knew who I was within moments of seeing me, from Nik and her therapy sessions I suppose."

"And what did she say?" Kol bites his lip as he watches his best friend choke up on old memories. Even though her and Klaus are in a good place right now he knows it'll always hurt.

"Firstly she spewed all of this bloody bull shit about patient confidentially." Both of them chuckle quietly. "And then I compelled her. She told me that he was beginning to move on. She told me about all of the advances he had been making on her and all of the gifts he'd sent her. I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me, but what really got to me was when she showed me a necklace he gave to her."

"A necklace?" Kol's face scrunches up in confusion before realization washes over his face. "Your engagement ring." He mumbles with a sympathetic yet angry expression.

Camilla nods her head as she makes a quick turn. "My engagement ring that was on a golden chain." She confirms. "He had that ring spelled by a witch, a protection spell and a back up daylight ring. He gave it to her."

"She reminded him of you." Kol says softly, grasping at sticks as an excuse for what his brother did. But not even he truly knew how his brother really felt about the bartender at the time.

"If he cared that much back then he would've noticed me sitting three seats away from him at a bar. But that was back then, were okay now." She breathes out heavily, as if trying to remind herself that she had him now, that they were okay.

Kol stays silent after that, knowing that she just needed some time to collect her thoughts. Years and years of heartbreak never goes away, not with a love like that.

Hours later they finally turn onto a long dirt trail and Kol begins to become Suspicious of this so called "unfinished business" Camilla claimed to have.

"Wait a second..." He mumbles to himself as he looks around and notices the place covered in trees and shade. A huge garage that almost looked like a car shop was on the other side of the fairly sized land.

But as soon as the car stops Camilla is shooting out of the car with a bright smile on her face before Kol can even finish his sentence. Camilla runs towards the medium sized cabin at human speed.

Kol slowly gets out of the car watching the entire scene. A figure slowly walks out of the house and mimics Camillas actions once they realize who she was.ย

They both shout as they jog towards one another with bright genuine smiles.

"Stefan." Camilla mumbles happily.

"Camilla." Stefan gasps, all of his emotions floating through his mind. Reflief, guilt, happiness, love. His eyes brimming with tears.

"Oh bloody hell." Kol mumbles to himself as he places a hand over his forehead. He can already hear the headache forming that no doubt his older brother will be the cause of as soon as they get back.
