After a couple of weeks Camilla had forgiven the boys and the men after them all groveling at her feet begging for forgiveness she figured they had enough torment and learned their lesson.

Everything was going smoothly with no problems. Camilla had noticed that Alec had been a bit distant with her ever since she woke up and intended to talk to him about it. She felt horrible enough that it took her so long to notice his behavior. What kind of mother doesn't notice her own son slowly pushing her away?

When Camilla woke up to the sun shining brightly in her face she turned her body to see her sleeping lover.

Stefan had both of his arms wrapped loosely around her waist and his mouth was slightly open as he slept peacefully.

Attempting to get up to get ready for the day proved to be a challenge when he only tightened his arms around her as she began to sit up.

"Lay with me." His husky morning voice whispered in her ear. Cami shivered slightly but smiled in happiness. Rubbing his jaw with her fingers she softly pecks him on the lips.

Only slightly opening one eye he smiles at her, suddenly straddling Cami and suffocating her with sweet kisses all over her face and neck. "S-Stop!" She squeals loudly as he assaults her with kisses.

When he finally stops she looks up to him.

"I have to talk to Alec today." She says with a large smile while watching him stare at her lovingly.

"Is everything okay?" He asks, eyebrows suddenly furrowing in concern for the boy.

"Everything's fine, I just noticed he's been a bit distant lately. I just want to make sure he's okay, you know with everything that has happened." She reassures his worries, she had to admit it made her happy that he cared for her kids as much as she did. If anything were to happen she knows that they'd be well taken care of. Everyone loved them.

Camilla winces slightly as she gets an ache in her head. Stefan notices and immediately begins to worry. "What's wrong?" He frantically questions, afraid to lose her again.

Putting on a fake reassuring smile she shakes her head, "Nothing. I think I had too much wine last night." She jokes.

Last night her and all of the other women got together to have some wine reminiscing about the old days, and for those who weren't there were just entertained to hear about all the drama and fun they had as teenagers.

Deep down Camilla had a feeling. There's been something about herself that had been very different ever since she was saved by all of the witches bloodlines. It felt like a very heavy amount of magic was still in her, hovering over her.

At first she brushed it off, assuming it was from the big amount of magic that was required to save her but after a while she knew that this was different. And she had a feeling she was being warned. Something bad was coming.

"Promise me you'll protect the kids at any cost." She says randomly staring at him so intensely Stefan almost flinches.

"I won't let anything happen to any of you." He says firmly, refusing to let her die anytime soon. Though, confused as to where this was all coming from.

Camilla shakes her head frantically gripping his shirt tightly in her fists. "If something happens, and it's me or my kids, you choose my children. Do you hear me?"

Stefans eyes water immediately at the thought of leaving her to die. She was the love of his life but he also knew if something happened to any of her kids she'd never come back from it. He didn't think anyone would from losing any of these kids.

Letting out a deep breath he shakes his head yes and resting his forehead on hers. "I promise. But nothings going to happen, we will all be okay."

Shaking her head yes she gives him a small smile. "I know..." she whispers though she still had doubts about it.

Camilla knocks on Jace and Alec's bedroom door with a warm smile. She knew that Jace usually trained during this time and Alec would be in their room studying for classes.

Alec slowly opens the door wondering who would be knocking on his door at this time, seeing as everyone knows not to bother him while he's studying.

"Hi mom." He says with a small shaky smile. He had been nervous. They hadn't really gotten any alone time together because he's been avoiding her. He knew it, and judging by the look on her face she knew it too.

"Can I come in?" She questions with a warm smile. Though if he denied her she would have come in anyways. She was determined to figure out what was going on with him the last couple of weeks.

Nodding his head, Alec opens the door all the way allowing her to walk in. He watches as she takes a seat on his queen bed patting the spot next to her.

Slowly closing the door he then walks towards the bed cautiously taking a seat on the bed.

He's slightly caught off guard when she pulls him into a big motherly hug and begins to cuddle him like old times.

He tenses for a second and then slowly relaxes into her arms. He had forgotten what it was like to have cuddles with his mother. It saddened him to think about how much he's been pushing her away. He never wanted to let go of his mother, he'd never be ashamed of being a mommas boy. But it felt like he's been neglecting her.

Running her soft hands through his hair she quietly asks the question he so desperately wanted to avoid. "Why have you been avoiding me baby? Did I do something wrong?"

That's when it all comes out. His bottom lip begins trembling and his eyes already watery. "I-I I'm so sorry." He sobs.

He never cried infront of anyone except his mother. She was the only one that could see through his tough boy facade and the only one who could break down his walls.

"Shh, shh, shh. What's wrong?" She comforts him with a sad and confused face. She didn't know what was so bad that could make him feel like this.

Sitting up he gathers himself enough to talk clearly. "Um, I. I found something out, when we saved you. I talked to my ancestors. We all did. And I'm so scared that when I tell you, that you won't love me anymore."

Grabbing both sides of his face gently Camilla cuts him off sternly. "I will never EVER stop loving you. No matter what you do or say. Nothing in this world could make me stop loving you."

"I know who my parents are." Alec spits out with a stutter, sitting tense and frozen when he realizes what he just said.

Camilla freezes for a second. She couldn't help but feel selfish when she had hoped she'd be the only parent in Alec's life. She was his mother, no one else.

Gaining her senses again she very delicately asks the obvious question. "Who baby?"

"When all of the ancestors came together she talked to me. My real mom." He said, but immediately regretted it when he saw his mothers face crumple. "I didn't mean t-" he begins watching as tears fill her eyes. He didn't mean to say it but it just slipped out.

He never thought that as insecure as he had always been about not being her real child that she'd be the same about not being his real mother. He regretted those words as soon as they came out.

Cutting him off Camilla responds, "no. It's uh, it's fine." She clears her throat looking anywhere but at him.ย  She opens her mouth trying to find the words to speak but nothing comes out.

It felt like her whole heart broke. Shattered to pieces. She raised this boy, she loved him like he was her own because she thought of him like he was. Blood didn't matter to her, but she never knew it did to him. Real mom. Repeated in her mind on a constant loop.

She's taken out of her thoughts when her phone rings. Picking up the phone she answers with a shaky voice. "Yes Dorian?"

"You were the first one I called!" He exclaims out of breath and panicked. "Hayley got out! She has Caroline held hostage outside in the fields. She will kill her if you don't come outside! I've had all the kids evacuated to their rooms. If anyone else gets close she'll kill her."

Camilla instantly stands up and gets the familiar aching pain in her head again. "Ah!" She yelps and Alec stands up trying to help her but she won't even look at him while Dorian frantically questions if she's alright.

"I'll be there!" She states and throws the phone at the wall in anger and panic. Her emotions were all over the place and the witches were trying to warn her of something that was obviously already here.

Alec jumps as the phone smashes to pieces against the wall. "Mom..." he whispers scared of what was happening and still panicked on what he had just said.

Keeping her watery eyes on the floor she whispers, "I'm so glad you found your real mother Alec. I'm happy for you."

And with that she speeds out of the room leaving Alec panicked. "MOM!" He shouts attempting to follow her but even with his wolf speed he couldn't keep up. He couldn't help but scream at what he saw once he got to the fields.
