Camilla shyly knocks on Klaus' door. It was the crack of dawn and she was doing this purposely now so that no one else would be awake.
She had a spare key to the Mikaelson home, seeing as her daughter was living here and the rest of her children were always here, the Mikaelsons didn't see a reason for the blonde not to have free reign over the home.
Camilla begins to get impatient after five minutes of knocking and huffs in annoyance. Opening the door to his room she's met with the sight of Klaus fast asleep, shirtless, and the comforter only barely covering his V-line and down.
Rolling her eyes at herself when she realizes she was blushing she walks over towards the bed and begins to softly nudge the hybrid. "Nik." She whispers.
Rolling her eyes when she gets no response she missed the small smirk that was on the mans face. She squeaks like a little girl when she's suddenly hauled onto the bed.
Blowing her strands of hair out of her face she playfully glares at the sleepy yet smirking Niklaus above her. "What are you doing here at..." he pushes on the power button on his phone and his eye brows raise higher before turning back towards the woman underneath him. "Five in the morning? Not that I mind waking up to you, love." He smiles genuinely.
Camilla takes a moment to answer, and instead admired his profile from below him. She had missed him so much, and watching him take care of everyone else and their kid's instead of going into a blinding rage like he would've in the past made her realize that she never stopped loving him.
Gently raising her right hand towards his face she rubs his stubble with her thumb. "I wanted to ask if you wanted to watch the sunrise with me." She softly smiles.
Klaus replicates the smile and leans down to peck the corner of her lips. "Of course I would Love. Just let me get dressed."
As he's about to get up Camilla whines in protest and wraps her arms around his neck and her legs around his torso. "Just a few more minutes. We haven't been like this in so long." She pleads.
Klaus gently lowers himself onto her, careful not to crush her with his weight and nuzzles his head into her neck, eliciting a giggle from her.
"That tickles Nik!" She scolds him lightly.
Klaus only smirks in response and lays a gentle kiss on her neck.
They lay there for a couple of minutes before Camilla realizes they need to get a move on before anyone else wakes up. "Let's go. I'll meet you at the entrance." She pecks his cheek quickly before shoving him off onto the bed and walking out of the door, leaving a brightly smiling Klaus behind.
One Klaus arrives at the entrance he notices Camilla shrugging on her light coat, seeing as the mornings in Mystic Falls are always dewy and chilly.
She looks up to meet his gaze and smiles. Reaching behind her she grabs two steaming cups and holds one out for him. "One black coffee with no sugar or creamer." She beams when she gains a fond smile out of him.
"Now Love, I think I'm the one who's supposed to be spoiling you." He chuckles but takes the coffee anyways, laying a kiss on her forehead in thanks.
"Nonsense!" She waves him off. "It goes both ways."
Klaus puts on his own light coat and grabs ahold of her free hand with his as they stroll out towards the fields.
Camilla stays silent for the next thirty minutes, just enjoying the peaceful morning.
Klaus notices her deep in thought and gently squeezes her hand. "What's wrong love?"
"There's something I need to tell you." She squeezes her eyes shut tightly so that she doesn't get choked up.
Klaus' eyebrows immediately furrow in worry and he drops their intertwined hands to cup her face. "What is it? You can tell me anything."
"Please don't get angry at me." She pleads, his heart was ready to break right then and there when she opens her eyes and has tears already welling in them.
"Okay." He whispers reassuringly.
"I'm, uh. I'm not back for good." She croaks out. Immediately avoiding eye contact with him, afraid to see his response.
Klaus' face scrunches in confusion for a few silent moments. "What do you mean you're not back for good?" He questions confusedly.
"Klaus..." she whispers. "I'm going to die again, eventually. I-I I can't stay here, alive. It's only temporary."
"I'd protect you from anything! I'm not letting you die this time, why would you say that?" He questions frantically. Softly nudges her chin up so that she'd have to look him in the eyes.
Her breathing calms after a few tense moments and she speaks. "The witches, the spells and power they used to resurrect me was only for a temporary stay. I have to die eventually otherwise all of the other bloodlines living descendants involved, will die." She whispers, watching his face turn from horror to determination.
"Well who's bloodlines were they because if they were someone of no use, I'd willingly slaughter them all to keep you, it's selfish I know and I haven't done anything like that in a long time but you don't understand I need you-" he continuously rambles only making Cami finally burst out.
"It's the Bennett bloodline. Bonnie Bennett would die." She states, watching his face soften slightly. "It's the Claire bloodline, Davina Claire and Alec would die." His face contorts into shock before she throws the final blow. "Its the Gemini bloodline. Lizzie and Josie would die. It's the Mikaelson bloodline. Hope, Freya, and Jace would die." She finishes.
Klaus gapes like a fish as tears gather in his eyes. Realization washing over him like a bucket of cold water that if he wanted her to stay, he'd have to sacrifice all of their children and neither of them would ever allow that to happen. No matter how much they loved the other. His sister that was lost and never got to live out her life until a few years prior would have to die. The witch that saved his brother from his bloodlust and crazy ways would have to die. The woman he was in love with, best friend would have to die.
"You're really going to die. Permanently." He whispers in conclusion.
"I am." Her voice cracks as he slowly leans his forehead onto her own. Both of them have tears falling from their faces.
"How long?" He questions sadly. Rubbing their noses together affectionately.
"I don't know." She sadly whispers. "Grams said that I would feel it coming. That I would know when my time was long before it came, so that I wasn't unprepared this time."
"And have you felt anything?" He replies worriedly. Worried that their time was already running out.
She shakes her head slowly. "No. Nothing. I have time. I don't know precisely how much but I have time."
"I told you because I don't want you to be blindsided like last time but also because I don't know what's going on with us but I love you, I realized it as I watched you from beyond death and I wish I realized it earlier but if you don't want to love or be with someone that can't give you eternity it's okay I'd understand-"
She's cut out of her rant when Klaus roughly, yet not enough to hurt her slams his lips onto her own. She gasps in surprise but wraps her arms around her neck and stands on her tip toes to attempt to match his height.
Pulling away Klaus smiles softly. "I don't run away when things get hard. Not anymore. I want to be with you, for however long you'll have me." He promises.
"How does the rest of my life sound?" She questions with a cheeky smile.
He roars out in laughter when he realizes she thought she was hilarious. "Morbid." He nods his head. "But bloody hell, I'll take it." He chuckles.
They stand in each other's embraces for a few minutes before Klaus feels a finger jab him in his stomach making him look down at the woman. "What is it?"
"Look at the sunrise." She beams as she looks into the distance.
He smiles fondly down at her before looking towards the sunrise.
"Do Hope and Jace hate me?" She suddenly questions sadly.
Klaus's eyes snap towards her figure that was wrapped around him. "Of course not. They love you. They were just upset that they weren't the first ones to know." He reassures her.
"I haven't seen Lizzie and Josie yet." She whispers with a deep frown. "I miss all of my babies I just don't know how to approach them."
"They'll be shocked at first. But they'll all be happy when they get over it." Klaus assures her.
"Let's make the twins breakfast and then we can surprise them in bed!" Camilla squeals in excitement.
"Which twins love?" Klaus questions amused.
"Lizzie and Josie of course. I may have been dead for months but I did not lose my touch. Hope and Jace will apologize and mean it before I do anything for them." She shrugs nonchalantly. She would not let her kids step all over her just because she had been dead. She might not have been able to be there for them for a couple of months but she was still and always will be their mother.
"Alright love lets get to it then." He smirks as he holds his hand out to the smiling blonde.
