Camilla lays in her bathtub, slowly sinking her head underneath the water as she tries to drown out the loud thoughts banging around her head.
Flash Back to five hours ago
"What is going on?" Hope shouts in disbelief. The pair of adults watch as the twins simultaneously blink, as if trying to wake up from a dream.
"We were going to tell you." Klaus lowly says, feeling guilty that his children had to find out that their mother was alive because of this and not getting to tell the two themselves. But he knew the mother of five needed rest before she completely over exerted herself.
After all, she was dead for months.
"How long?" Jace snips out with an angry expression plastered on his face, though everyone can tell he's hurt more than anything.
"A couple of hours." Klaus internally rolls his eyes at the dramatics all of his children had.
"You've been alive for hours and you didn't even think to tell your kids?" Hope questions rhetorically. Fire burning in her eyes. "The kids who mourned you for months!"
"Hope, Jace." Camilla tries to simply explain to them that she would have passed out had it not of been for the nap she had. She was still feeling exhausted if she was being honest. And she expected her kids to be over joyed with her rising from the dead. But apparently not.
"I hear Alec's better." Jace scoffs. "A couple of hours ago he was actually magically healed. You went and saw him and forgot about all of your other kids?" He snarks back.
"He was on his deathbed for gods sake Jace!" Camilla raises her voice in anger. Angry because he kids are questioning not only her love for them but they all seemed to have forgotten what respect was. Especially towards their own mother. "Do not come stomping in here when I have literally just risen from the dead this morning! I am still your mother and you will not disrespect me!" She yells at the pair who both attempt to subtly roll their eyes. Their pride and stubbornness getting the best of them after their feelings had been hurt.
"Yeah go ahead and roll your eyes at me." She snips back, her eyes beginning to well with tears. Watching her children seemingly not give a single care about her own feelings anymore. "If these are the type of people you all have turned into in a few months, I don't want to see you. I don't want to speak to you. I will not be disrespected by my own children."
She begins gathering her things shoving off Klaus's hand when he tries to calm her down. Stopping right in front of both children she looks towards Jace. "I raised you with no help from anyone else while all I wanted to do was die. I gave you everything you could've asked for. Even when you asked for more than I had I made sure you got it."
Turning towards a sniffling Hope she says, "I might not have raised you but I died so that you could finally be away from that monster that verbally abused you all of your life and took you from your family." Looking between them both she scoffs. "You are not the children I raised nor the one I risked my own life for, fighting someone with double of my strength."
She stomps out of the room in tears and leaves the Mikaelson home, headed towards a home that wasn't abandoned but was never used anymore for anything other than storage.
Liz Forbes house.
About an hour later she hears a rapid knock on the door. Sighing to herself she sets her paperwork down and heads towards the door.
She's genuinely surprised when she sees Kol. "Did Klaus send you?" She questions unimpressed.
"No, no, no." He immediately denies. "I actually need to ask you a question."
"Of course. What's up?" She says with a small smile, curious as to what the boy seemed to down and nervous about.
"I lied earlier." He admits. "To everyone."
"About what? Kol what is this about? Did you change Damon's shampoo with hair dye again?!" She lightly scolds him.
But his face remains impassive. "No. But I understood." His words are cryptic.
"Understood what Kol?" She questions, genuinely confused.
"ะะตะฝ ััะทะดัาฃ าะฐะฝัาฃัะทะดั ัะฐาัะฐั าฏััะฝ ำฉะท ำฉะผัััะผะดั าาฑัะฑะฐะฝ ะตัะตะผัะฝ. าะฐะปาะฐะฝัะผะดั ัะฐาัะฐ." He repeats perfectly, the same exact words that came out of her mouth when she saved Alec.
The breath leaves her lungs as she stands frozen in the kitchen. She shakes her head in denial, hoping that somewhere out there a god would've given her more time.
"I'm sacrificing my life to save your bloodlines. Save the rest of mine." He says, but this time in English. "You're not staying, are you? You're going to die again." He says sadly, finally dropping his expressionless tone.
Turning her head towards the wall like it was the most interesting thing ever, he watches as she tries to avoid is eyes.
"Yes. I am." She finally chokes out. Feeling a weight lift off of her shoulders when she finally got the truth off of her back. She chuckles dryly. "I knew that if anyone were to figure it out it'd be you."
"It was a common language witches in Central Asia used. I ran with some, during the 1400's." He explains. "Who are you sacrificing your life for?" He questions intensely. "What bloodlines are in danger?"
"The Bennett bloodline, the Mikaelson bloodline, the Gemini coven, and..." she trails off with a wary look. "The Claire bloodline."
Kol sucks in a harsh breath. Shaking his head in disbelief that the world would make him choose between the love of his life and his platonic soul mate. "Why are they in danger?"
"All of the monsters that have been coming." She pauses in contemplation. "The worst is still coming." She admits. "That's as much as I can tell you."
He nods his head in slight understanding. "Witches have always been pesky little things."
"That they have." Camilla chuckles fondly. Thinking about all of the witches she's met during her seemingly short life. And even in the after life.
"How long do you have?" He looks at her, in a new light. He wasn't angry that she was going to be dying like before. He wasn't necessarily not sad, but he understood. This was her destiny, her fate. No matter how much he wished it wasn't.
"I'm not completely sure." She says honestly. "Sheila Bennett told me that it wouldn't be sudden like last time. But that I would feel it slowly coming."
"That's awful!" Kol laughs despite the tragedy behind it, Camilla joining along.
Once both of their laughter settles they share a long moment of eye contact before Kol takes long strides towards the blonde. Taking her into his arms he holds her tightly. "You Camilla Forbes. Are someone that I will never forget." He promised wistfully.
"I love you Kol." She chokes out sadly.
"I love you too darling." He responds and kisses her on the forehead.
After a few more seconds they both back away and chuckle as they wipe their tears. "Have you told him?"
Camilla looks away and frowns. "I don't know how to." She admits. "It kills me to hurt him after all of this. He thinks that we have an eternity to be together."
"He deserves to know and not be blindsided." He honestly replies, despite his brother and his fights through out the centuries he cared very much for him. "He'll understand."
"Thank you Kol." She says sincerely.
Flashback over
Camilla lifts her head from underneath the now cold water and sighs. She had to tell Klaus, her kids even. But she knew she had a little longer for her kids, but Klaus deserved to know what he was getting himself into before they pursue anything. She just wasn't ready to be the one to break his heart.
