SHE KNOWS
Aryss found herself in the Domo with the other eternals. They were all trying to figure out how to stop the new Celestial from emerging. She kept smiling at them, they were working hard when all she had to do was move her hand and he would be gone in a few seconds.
Everyone was ready to fight. Sersei had left with Ikaris while Makkari was with Druig. The plan was almost ready when Sersei walked in, tears noticiable in her eyes. Minutes later Ikaris walks in, he destroys Phastos creation. "Boss, what are you doing?!" Kingo asks. "I've let this go on long enough" he replies. There was this argument about whether or not they should let the new Celestial be born. Then, everything turn dark really fast.
"If Ajak wanted this then why did she choose me?" Sersei asked. It was in that exact moment that Aryss knew what had happened. "Please tell me you didn't?" she asked. It almost sounded like she was begging. Everyone was looking very confused. "What are you talking about?" Thena asked. "Ikaris! Tell me that you didn't do what I think you did" she told him. The Eternal looked away.
"No. No. Please no" she cried. Everyone looked confused. "You killed my daughter!" she yelled. Everyone gasped. Ikaris loved Ajak like a mother, it made no sense that he was the one to kill her. "I didn't want to. I had no choice" Aryss held herself back. "No. Not my baby" she looked at him, tears in her eyes, bringing him to tears as well. "Aryss-" he made a move towards her but she took a few steps back. "Don't!" she exclaimed.
"This whole time.. I had tried to help you and be there for you, and the whole time, you were using me. You knew what you've done. You knew she was my daughter and youβ you sat here, telling me it was gonna be okay. You comforted me about her death, while you were the one who killed her!" Aryss didn't know what or how to feel. She made her way out knowing that if she stayed longer she would've killed him.
A few minutes later Druig went out to find her. She was on Ajak's room, she stood outside her balcony.
She never changed it, it had the same decoration she had put up when she was young. "She never changed it" Druig said as he walked in. "She always said someone important helped her decorate it. She said even though that person was long gone, their memories were always there. We thought it was some boy or another eternal. Now I know, it was her mother" Aryss smiled but she could feel the tears coming once again. She sat on the end of the bed, Druig following behind.
"I'm sorry" he whispered. "I know" she told him. "I just never expected it to be him" she added. "I want to believe that he didn't want to do. Not really. I want to believe it was Arishem but, I don't know anymore" she told him. "What do you think?" she asked him. "I think Ikaris has always been loyal, Ajak taught him everything he knows as did you. That means, loyalty, love and most of all, devotion to his beliefs, missions and purpose. You heard him, he's known about this since Babylon" Aryss didn't know what to think.
"But she was his mother" she replied. "Exactly. She told him what was needed of him complete his mission, his purpose. And now, that's not the right way? All the sacrifices and all the things he did just to "complete" his mission? His purpose? It was all a lie. Ajak led all of us in the wrong direction. You did too. If you knew it was wrong you could've helped us and instead you left us to figure this out thousands of years later. So, who was the real villain here?" he asked. Aryss was thinking. Was she the villain here?
