SPIDER-MAN SWUNG TO the Alexander Hamilton Bridge. He wore his Iron-Spider suit since his red-and-black one was still stained with green paint from an altercation with a Mysterio supporter weeks ago.
There was bumper-to-bumper traffic through the bridge and Y/N tried to scan each car for the MIT vice-chancellor, but it was no use since EDITH and any other AI once programmed in his suit was offline.
Y/N ignored the news helicopter following him around. He dropped down from the highway sign and deactivated his armor, unveiling his suit and tie that he put on to look professional for the representative.
He walked through the stalled traffic until he reached a van with what looked like the woman he saw in the photo he got from Flash. He knocked on the window and the lady lowered it.
"Yeah?" She asked and got off her phone.
"Hi. I'm Y/N L/N."
"I know. You do know you're in the street, right?"
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I just really needed to talk to you and I know you're on your way to the airport."
"Uh-huh."
Y/N breathed out. "MJ Watson, Ned Leeds, Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, they're the smartest and most remarkable people I've ever met in my entire life. I'm the dumbest person because I got them involved and let them help me...but if they didn't help me then millions would've died, so please, don't let MIT be dumb like me."
"MIT is dumb?" She asked.
"No! I'm saying, don't let MIT be dumb. I mean, like, the dumber version of me that wouldn't have let them help." He replied nervously then smiled.
"You didn't rehearse that did you, Y/N?"
The teenager let out another sigh. "Basically, what I'm trying toβ"
He suddenly heard the familiar high-pitched sound between his ears. Y/N honed in on his spider-sense to detect what exactly was coming, but for some reason, it was going haywire and got louder than usual.
Y/N jumped onto the lady's car and looked around the highway. He saw a few people getting out of their cars and running the opposite way.
"Why are you running?" He called out. "Whatβ?"
Suddenly, there was rumbling and he saw the road ahead breaking apart. Y/N crouched down and got in position as he reactivated his Iron-Spider suit.
"Uh...ma'am? You should get out of the car." Y/N said and then shouted at the running civilians. "Everybody get off the bridge!"
Metal actuators protruded from the ground and pulled cars through the holes. They tore apart the tarmac and let their user through the opening. One final tentacle slammed onto the floor and the man emerged from the smoke.
He stared directly at Spider-Man and smiled menacingly.
"Hello, Y/N."
The web-slinger confusedly waved. "Um, hello there. Do weβ? Do I know you?"
"What have you done with my machine?" He asked as he opened up one of the actuators.
"Your...? What machine? I don't know what you're talking about."
"The power of the sun...in the palm of my hand. It's gone."
"Listen, man, if you stop smashing cars and wrecking Hamilton's bridge, we can work together and try to find your machine."
"You want to play games?" The man stabbed a nearby car with his tentacle and threw it at Y/N. "Catch!"
Spider-Man flipped over the car but was hit by another. He held onto it as he fell off the bridge but realized there was a family still inside. He stuck the car with a web and dangled it off the bridge before helping them back onto the highway.
"It's okay. You guys are safe. Get out of here." He told the family and let them run off.
Y/N was immediately grabbed by the villain. An actuator wrapped around his body and held him close.
"You think your fancy new suit is gonna save you?" He asked and grabbed Y/N's face with another.
He slammed the web-slinger against the MIT representative's van, which caused it to crash through his barrier and teeter off the bridge. The octopus-like man threw Spider-Man across the highway and Y/N crashed through one of the signs.
Y/N hit the side of a UPS truck and fell onto the road. The villain was trotting towards him, using his tentacles to do so. Suddenly, they heard what sounded like a jet soar by.
Immediately, talons grabbed the back of Spider-Man and brought him into the air. Y/N had an inkling of who it was, but upon seeing the assailant's face, he was bewildered.
The man spoke. "I got you now, L/N!"
"Vulture?" Y/N grunted before webbing the old man's face.
He escaped the man's hold and fell toward the bridge. Before he can swing to safety, the other villain grabbed Y/N with one of his tentacles and threw him into another car.
"Ugh..." The hero groaned. "This isn't fair."
The octopus-like villain looked up at the soaring man. He didn't recognize him, but the Vulture did.
"Octavius?" He asked.
"I don't know who are." The man growled. "Leave the pest to me!"
He grabbed Vulture with one of his actuators. Vulture tried to cut through them with his sharp wings but to no avail. Octavius slammed him against one of the highway signs before throwing him onto the road.
Octavius looked back to see Spider-Man recovering. The villain glared at the web-slinger.
"You're all mine, Y/N. After I'm done with you I'm going after Parker and that little missy next."
Y/N activated his spider-legs that retracted from his back and got in a pose. He glared back, disliking the fact that he threatened his best friend and what he assumed was his girlfriend.
"I won't let you."
The villain smirked and looked at one of his actuators, speaking to it as if it was sentient.
"Looks like we got competition."
Spider-Man leaped at Octavius and battled him. He parried attacks from the tentacles with his spider legs before grabbing him. Octavius pushed him off and snatched him with his actuator, slamming him onto the top of a car.
Y/N escaped his hold and batted away more swipes from his tentacles. Octavius grabbed the cars on the teenager's right and left and pulled them in to try and crush Spider-Man, but the web-slinger leaped out of the way.
As he stuck to a sign above, Vulture recovered and flew at Octavius. He grabbed his coat and dragged him across the highway, forcing him to hit several cars. He threw him aside and rolled across the tarmac.
"Wow...thanks." Y/N said as he looked at Vulture, but upon locking with his glaring eyes, he knew he wasn't friendly. "Oh...you still want to kill me."
Vulture flew at Spider-Man but the hero leaped up and dodged his attack. The villain was in the air as he swiped his wings, expelling a razor-sharp blade from it that hit the wall-crawler. Thankfully, his armor didn't let it impale him but it knocked the wind out of Y/N.
"Argh!" Y/N grunted as he landed on the street. He looked at the bent blade on the floor. "Did you just shoot that out of your wings?"
Vulture charged him again but Spider-Man leaped up and stuck to his back. They flew around in the air as Y/N tried punching the back of his head. The villain shifted around and grabbed the hero's neck, raising his arm as a blade retracted from his gauntlet.
"That's not good." Y/N muttered.
Vulture tried stabbing Y/N, but he moved his head out of the way and grabbed the man's face with his free hand. He groaned as the teenager poked his eyes, and the disorientation let Y/N maneuver the flying villain toward a sign.
Y/N escaped his grasp and let Vulture slam into the sign. The old winged man crashed onto the top of a moving van before falling onto the tarmac unconscious.
"Old bird man's down. Nowβ" Y/N didn't finish his statement a car crashed near his area. He looked back and saw Octavius charging him.
"There's still the octopus." Y/N added.
The hero swung up onto the highway signs and the villain followed. They battled on the structure, with Y/N shooting webs but the tentacles protecting their user from the projectiles. Suddenly, Y/N heard a yell.
"Y/N!" The MIT vice-chancellor shouted from her teetering car. "Help!"
Y/N leaped off the sign to go assist, but Octavius grabbed him and held him up with his tentacles. He brought the web-slinger near the news helicopter that was beside them, slowly bringing the tail's rotating blades to his head.
Spider-Man shot two web lines at Octavius and pulled himself toward him. He kicked off the man's chest and escaped his grasp, where he then initiated a swing toward the teetering car.
The villain attempted to stop him by grabbing a large concrete cylinder and trying to strike him. Y/N flipped and weaved away from the hits as he made his way to the car.
"Don't worry, ma'am! I'm coming!"
Y/N was about to shoot a web to catch the car, but he was hit with the cylinder and slammed against a van. This slowed him down a bit but continued running. Octavius then threw a car that Y/N was able to back-flip over.
The car started to fall off the bridge. Y/N immediately shot a web at the vehicle and was dragged across the tarmac. His spider legs reactivated and stabbed into the floor, stopping Y/N and letting him fully catch the car before it can hit the passing train below.
He stuck the web-line to the edge and rappelled down to speak with the representative. He could see that she was panicking.
"It's okay, ma'am. Just stay calm." He reassured her. "Just take a deep breath. Are you okay?"
"No!"
Suddenly, a tentacle grabbed Y/N and pulled him away from the dangling car. Octavius was now below the bridge and tried to attack Spider-Man there.
"I promise, I've got this under control!" Y/N shouted at the lady as he was being flung like a rag doll.
Octavius pummeled Y/N through the bottom of the bridge and pulled him back out before slamming him onto the ceiling. His actuator ripped off a piece of his armor and revealed his suit underneath.
"Not the tie! I had to buy that this morning!" Y/N exclaimed.
"Nanotechnology." Octavius looked at it in amazement. The nanites began to coat the rest of his arms. "Ah, you've outdone yourself, Y/N. I've underestimated you."
It fully covered his tentacles and was now colored red. A blade protruded from the middle of one of his actuators.
"But now you die."
He thrust his arm toward Y/N and tried to stab him in the chest, but the teenager's armor moved the nanobots from his mask to his sternum, protecting him. The now unmasked Y/N groaned in discomfort from the impact.
Octavius pulled away and saw the blade now bent. The boy's mangled tie was stuck to the tip and Y/N noticed.
"And there goes the tie..." Y/N breathed out.
The villain brought the upside-down teenager closer and examined his face. He was beyond flabbergasted. Octavius took off his tinted glasses and stared at the boy.
"You're not Y/N L/N."
A million things went through the teenager's head.
"I am so confused right now."
Octavius looked at one of his tentacles and spoke to it. "What's happening?"
Y/N took the man's confused state as a chance to tap into a holographic module on his arm. Since the man's actuators were merged with the nanotech, he paired them with his armor. Octavius quickly realized something was wrong.
"You don't listen to him. You listen to me." He scolded the arms.
Y/N moved one of his arms and the top right tentacle mirrored the movement. The boy chuckled.
"That's sick." He said and immediately used one of the arms to grab the dangling car nearby.
He started moving it back onto the bridge and Octavius tried to grab him, but his movements were restricted. Y/N began to move themselves to the highway too as the man shouted.
"Hey. Hey! Listen to me! No, not him! Me!"
Y/N got out of the actuator's hold and forced the arms to wrap around Octavius. He placed the car down and pulled off the door with his web. Y/N retracted his armor and was back in his suit.
"Ma'am, are you okay?" He asked the lady. "Come on, you can still make your flight."
The woman looked at Y/N, panting. "Y/N...you're a hero."
The boy didn't expect her praise. "No. Well, I'mβNo..."
"I'm going to talk to Admissions about your friends. And I'm going to talk to them about you."
"But, ma'am, this isn't about me."
"I'm going to talk to them about your friends and you." She emphasized. "Okay?"
"Really?" He asked with a smile.
"And if you keep your noses clean, maybe you'll have a fair shot."
The woman got out of the car and scolded Octavius before walking away from the scene. The teenager looked on, still surprised that he was able to get himself and his friends a second chance.
Y/N looked back at Octavius. A few yards away also laid the unconscious body of Vulture.
"Who areβ?"
Octavius swung at the incoming Y/N but he ducked. He tried attacking again but Y/N stepped back.
"Hey, hey, hey! Until you stop trying to kill me..." Y/N showed him the module on his belt. "I'm in control, hermano, of this whole tentacle situation you got going on here. Okay? Now, who are you? What isβ?"
The boy's spider-sense went off again. He looked around in confusion as the ringing was even louder than the last. Suddenly, there was an explosion down the highway.
"Uh-oh." Y/N muttered and reactivated his armor.
Through the smoke, a man in green-clad armor and on a glider levitated above. He let out a cackle as he held one of his orange bombs.
Octavius looked up at him. "Osborn?"
The man came down on his glider and accelerated toward them. Before they can engage in battle, a portal transported Y/N, Octavius, and Vulture off the bridge.
Y/N looked around the dark room he was now in. He deactivated his armor and paced, recognizing that the space was the crypt beneath the Sanctum. He slowly walked forward.
"Doctorβ"
A roar and loud banging behind Y/N scared him. He turned around and stumbled back, hitting a barrier that held Octavius. He looked to his right and spotted a now awake Vulture also behind a similar force field. Amidst his confusion, he felt a hand on his shoulder and shrieked.
It was Doctor Strange, who was sweating and had a cut across his cheek.
"Be careful what you wish for, Y/N." He breathed out.
"Let me out of here!" Octavius shouted.
"Can you please explain to me what is going on?" Y/N asked Strange.
"That little spell that you botched where you wanted everyone to forget Y/N L/N was Spider-Man, it started pulling everyone who knows Y/N L/N is Spider-Man from every universe into this one."
"From every universe?"
"Who are you?" Octavius asked. "Where am I?"
Strange kept speaking to Y/N. "I think it's better we don't engage with them. Because frankly, the multiverse is a concept we know frighteningly little."
"The multiverse is real?" Y/N asked in awe. "After what happened with Beck, I thought all that was bullshit."
"All this shouldn't be possible." Stephen muttered.
"But I thought you stopped the spell?"
"No, I contained it." He pointed at the subjects within the cells. "But it would appear that a few of them squeaked through."
He continued. "After you left, I detected an otherworldly presence. I pursued it into the sewers where I found that slimy green son of a bitch."
Y/N looked over at one of the cells that contained a large reptilian-like figure sitting in it.
"Spell? As in magic?" Octavius asked Strange. "What is this? A birthday party? Who is this clown? What is this madness?"
"Watch this." He told Y/N and then spoke to Octavius. "Do you know a Y/N L/N, who's Spider-Man?"
"Yes."
Strange pointed to Y/N. "Is that him?"
"No."
Strange looked at the boy. "See?"
Y/N gave a confused look. Strange sighed and continued to speak.
"Okay, here's what we got to do. I don't know how many of these visitors we've gotβ"
"I saw another one...on the bridge." Y/N interjected. "He was like a...like a flying green elf."
"Well, he sounds jolly. Why don't you start with him? I need you to capture them and bring them here while I figure out how to get them back before they destroy the fabric of reality. Or worse, Wong finds out."
Strange started to walk away, letting out a groan as he held his bruised side. Y/N called out to him.
"Doctor Strange?"
"What?"
"My friends and I just got a second chance to get into M.I.T and if the school sees me fighting these crazy monsters thenβ"
"Watch your mouth!" Octavius scolded.
"Shut up, please."
Strange rolled his eyes. "Are you seriously still talking about college?"
The sorcerer used magic to pull a part of the boy's nanotech armor off. It wrapped Stephen's arm and with a swift movement, he enchanted the piece.
"What did you just do?" Y/N asked him.
"This."
Stephen shot a glowing orange web at Y/N, which immediately transported him into an empty cell. Y/N didn't expect it and ended up running into the force field.
"How did you do that?" Octavius asked Strange with a dumbfounded look.
"Lots of birthday parties." He replied sarcastically.
Strange turned a dial nearby and freed Y/N from the cell. He sent the enchanted web shooter back onto the boy's arm. Y/N gazed at it in awe.
"One shot, send them here, move on. You're welcome." Stephen said and walked away. "Get to work."
"Doctor?" Y/N called out once more.
He let out an exasperated sigh. "Now what?"
"I know this is my mess, and I swear to you that I will fix it, but I'm gonna need some more help."
Strange shrugged. "What more help do you need?"
Later, Doctor Strange walked back into the Sanctum with the help Y/N asked for. Peter, Ned, MJ, and Gwen followed the sorcerer inside. Ned looked around in amazement.
"I can't believe I'm in the Sanctum Sanctorum." He said.
"Neither can I." Strange murmured.
"So...how did you know you were made of magic? Because my nana says that we have it in our family and sometimes I get this tingling in my handsβ"
"You should talk to your physician." Strange interjected as he walked up the stairs.
"But...aren't you one?" Gwen asked.
Stephen paused. "Not the type that he needs."
Y/N walked into the room. He saw his friends and MJ went up to him.
"Y/N!"
"Hey." He greeted her back and hugged her. "I'm so sorry for dragging you into this. You just got to help me findβ"
"You don't have to apologize, okay?"
"Besides, you got us a second shot at MIT." Peter added.
Y/N smiled at them. Ned went up to a desk and picked up what looked like an antique letter opener, gazing at it in amazement.
"So, how exactly did the bad guys get here?" Gwen asked.
"He screwed up a spell trying to get you into college." Stephen exclaimed from the top of the stairs.
"Wait, what?" MJ asked.
Ned looked at him. "You did it with magic?"
"I thought you said you spoke with the lady?" Peter asked.
"Well, that was after. Let's focus on the good news, okay?" Y/N replied.
"No. Let's focus on the bad news." Strange butted. "As of now, you have detected zero multiversal trespassers. So, get on your phones, scour the internet, and...Scooby-Doo this shit!"
MJ snickered. "You're telling us what to do even though it was your spell that got screwed up, meaning that all this was kind of your mess. You know...I know a couple of magic words myself, starting with the word please."
The teenagers looked back up at Strange. The sorcerer, rather impressed with the girl's tone and tenacity, relented and sighed.
"Please...Scooby-Doo this shit." He said. "You can work in the undercroft."
Ned's jaw dropped. "The Undercroft?"
The friends went downstairs and entered the undercroft. Ned turned on the light and looked into the room in awe. Despite it looking like a rundown basement, he loved it.
"Badass."
He went over to a table and picked up a crossbow. He aimed it in the direction of Peter and the teenager quickly grabbed it and moved it away. Ned apologized and aimed the other way.
Y/N spoke to them. "Look, about this whole spellβ"
"It's totally okay." MJ interjected.
"Really?"
"Yeah. I mean, I get it. You were just trying to...uh...fix things, and so...maybe just run it by us next time, you know? That way when you're thinking hey, I'm about to do something that could break the universe we can like...help you. Workshop something or brainstorm ideas."
Y/N softly smiled and nodded. The brunette was so understanding and willing to help in any way she could.
"Deal." He replied, then looked at his friends. "You guys okay?"
"Hey, I said I'd always have your back. That's not going to change." Peter replied.
Gwen agreed. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Oh, dude, I really don't care. Seriously not a big deal." Ned spoke, but then something caught his eye. He dropped his crossbow and went up to it. "Whoa! A torture rack."
"That is a Pilates machine." MJ pointed, then looked at the dark area nearby. "That isβ?"
"The crypt." Y/N replied and walked with her toward it.
"Okay. So, we get the rest of the guys, you zap them, Doctor Magic will send them back. And when we get into MIT, a round of stale donuts, my treat."
Ned joined his four friends by the entrance of the crypt. He held the crossbow he found.
"Let's catch some multiverse men."
Octavius saw the group and shouted at Y/N.
"Hey! Who the hell are they?"
"Well, these are my friends. MJ, Peter, Gwen, Ned, meet octopus man." He introduced before calling out to him. "I'm sorry, what's your name again?"
"Doctor Otto Octavius."
There was a beat before the teenagers laughed at the name. Y/N caught his breath.
"No, seriously, what's your actual name?"
Ned noticed another prisoner in their cell. "No way! Is that a dinosaur?"
Peter pointed at the other one. "Is that Vulture?"
Y/N shrugged. "I guess. But obviously not our Vulture."
"Wow...he's really old."
The multiversal Adrian Toomes heard the boy's remark. "Say that again, young man, and I will cut you open once I get out of here!"
Peter nodded and whispered to Y/N. "And grumpy."
β’ β’ β’
THE SEARCH FOR multiversal beings continued. Ned was on his laptop searching the internet for clues on their whereabouts and Gwen was in the undercroft with him looking through social posts on her phone. Y/N was by the sink trying to scrub off the green paint from his red-and-black suit
Peter and MJ were in the crypt. The brunette was looking through her phone as well for posts about any unusual sighting. The boy was testing out a repulsor gauntlet he built with parts he brought with him, parts that the DODC didn't find those months ago.
He charged up the gauntlet and tried to shoot a slab of rock nearby. It sparked a bit but didn't expel any energy. Peter would have to work on it some more.
"You think the wizard's fine with you testing that out here?" MJ asked as she looked up from her phone.
"He shouldn't mind...mainly because this ain't working. For now. It needs more of the Parker touch."
"Parker..." He heard a voice come from the cell.
He looked over at Adrian Toomes, who sat against the wall and has his wings covering him. The old man looked up from the floor and at the boy.
"Peter Parker?" He asked.
The exchange got the attention of MJ. She looked up from her phone and eyed the man speaking to Peter.
Peter arched a brow. "What?"
"You're so young here..." Adrian began. "But still so intelligent. You have a knack for technology just like him."
"Like him?"
"The Parker of my world. Biochemist and engineer. City-wide mogul. CEO of Parker Industries."
Adrian leaned over toward the barrier and glared at the teenager.
"The one who made me who I am."
Peter took in the information, deciding whether or not to believe words from an otherworldly villain.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I needed that job...a taker for my prototype on my aerial combat suit. But they said it was a reckless endeavor. Too dangerous. You said it. And just like that...I was out on the streets. I couldn't provide for my wife. You forced me to try the prototype on myself..."
Adrian lifted his arm and showed his wing. "...and that's what I did."
"I'm...I'm sorry that happened to you." Peter said.
"I don't need your pity, boy! I would've killed you if Y/N didn't get in my way." He exclaimed. "That son of a bitch warped Felicia's mind and made her think I was in the wrong. My own daughter!"
Peter and MJ were taken back by the man's shout. They chose to back away and the boy looked at the girl.
"I think I liked our Vulture better." He whispered.
Suddenly, Ned yelled out to his friends. "I got one! I got one!"
MJ and Peter walked back into the undercroft and were joined by Y/N and Gwen. They stood around Ned and looked into the laptop.
"You can take the guy out of the chair, but you can't take the chair out of the guy." He said.
"What did you find?" Y/N asked.
"There was a disturbance near a military research facility outside of the city, and witnesses say they saw a monster flying through the air."
"That's gotta be the guy I saw on the bridge."
"Impossible." Octavius replied from his cell.
The teens looked into the crypt and at the villain. Y/N stepped up to the entrance.
"You know him don't you?" He asked. "On the bridge, you said his name."
"Norman Osborn." Otto said. "Brilliant scientist. Military research. But he was greedy, misguided."
"What happened toβ?"
Otto turned around and shouted at Y/N. "We tire of your questions, boy!"
"Okay." Y/N stepped back and walked to his friends. "I gotta go. Where am I going?"
"It can't be him." Otto spoke again.
"Why?" Gwen asked, in which he stared at them all.
"Because Norman Osborn died years ago. So either we saw someone else...or you're flying out into the darkness to fight a ghost."
β’ β’ β’
SPIDER-MAN WORE HIS red-and-black suit inside out because of the green stains. It looked different now, as the wiring and interior shading gave it a black-and-gold color.
Y/N swung across transmission towers through a forest outside of the city. It was getting late and he traversed through the darkness as his friends watched through a phone he had taped to his chest.
"I genuinely don't know how you do this without throwing up." MJ remarked.
"Lots of getting used to." Y/N replied. "You down for another swing through Manhattan tomorrow?"
"Oh, hell no. I said I'm never doing that again."
Gwen chimed in. "Awww, you guys swung together?"
"There's no awww, it was ahhh!"
Y/N landed in the middle of the forest and looked around. He saw some dirt shift in the distance which got his attention.
"Did you guys see that?"
"No. It's really dark." Peter answered.
Y/N walked forward. Suddenly, his spider-sense went off and he could feel a presence behind him. He slowly raised his arm and readied his magic-enhanced web shooter.
"What's happening?"
"Are you getting the tingle thing? Is the tingle thing happening? Is your tingle tingling?"
He spun around and looked up, seeing electricity from the power cables above forming a transparent humanoid.
"Are you guys seeing this?" He asked.
"Yeah." MJ replied.
"Osborn?" Ned asked.
"No. He was green. This guy's blue." Y/N answered and then shouted at the figure. "Uh...you wouldn't happen to be from another universe, would you?"
"What's he doing?" Gwen asked.
"I don't know. Looks like he's charging."
"I don't like this, Y/N. Just web him." MJ said.
Y/N listened and shot a web at the humanoid. The glowing projectile went through its body and hit a tree instead, transporting it into a cell within the crypt.
The humanoid reacted and shot electrical bolts at Spider-Man. He backflipped away from them and swung away, traversing through the trees as he avoided more bolts. His friends talked over each other to give him call-outs, but they weren't helping.
The humanoid appeared in front of Y/N and struck him with a bolt. It heaved him back and Spider-Man hit the ground, the strike also damaging the phone and ending their friend's feed.
Another electrical bolt struck the ground and made its way toward Y/N. Suddenly, a wall of sand formed in front of the web-slinger and protected him.
"Y/N, it's me, Flint Marko." A face that formed within the wall spoke. "You remember?"
"I'm Y/N, but I'm not your Y/N."
"What do you mean, you're not my Y/N? What the hell is going on?"
"I'll explain, but first, can you help me stop this guy?"
"Okay."
"You try to surround him and I'll pull the plug. All right, let's go!"
The plan was immediately enacted and the Sandman formed a tornado that surrounded the electric-based humanoid. Y/N perched onto a transmission tower and detached its cables with his webs.
"I can't hold him much longer." Flint exclaimed.
"I got it!" Y/N shouted back and webbed more cables from where he was standing.
He held onto multiple lines with each hand and pulled his arms in, pulling off all the cables from each tower. Y/N leaped off the tower and landed on the grass below.
The depowered humanoid was taken down. Y/N took off his mask and caught his breath just when Sandman got into his human form, standing beside Spider-Man.
"Different Y/N. Weird."
"Thanks." He slapped his hand but it broke apart into sand. "Sorry."
"Don't worry about it."
Maxwell Dillion rose from the dirt. The man was naked, but it didn't deter him as he looked around in awe at his surroundings and his arms.
"I got my body back."
"Hey." Y/N called out and faced him. "This is gonna sound really crazy, but this isn't your universe."
"Another universe?" Max asked.
Flint looked at Y/N. "What?"
"That's what I was feeling. The power, it's different." Max's eyes glowed yellow. "I like it."
"Easy, buddy." Flint raised his arms.
"It's actually my fault that you're here." Y/N told Max.
"Like, the universe or the woods? I hate the woods."
"I meant, the universe, bro."
"So, what, y'all just gonna stand here and act like I ain't butt-ass naked?"
"I am." Flint replied.
"I wasn't gonna say anything...uh..." Y/N looked over at a shed nearby and saw an electrician's uniform in it.
He let Max put it on before webbing him and sending him to the crypt. Flint witnessed this and was bewildered at what happened.
"What was that?" He asked Y/N. "What did you just do to him?"
"No, no. It's okay." Y/N raised his arms.
"Did you kill him?"
"I can explain everything. Trust me."
"I don't trust you. I don't know you."
Flint grew several feet taller and formed a large fist. He was about to punch Y/N but the web-slinger shot him with a web and sent him to the crypt.
Five villains were in the cells within the crypt. Marko was just transported there and looked around in confusion.
"What is this?" He asked.
"You picked the wrong side." Max said, then looked to his right and saw a familiar face...more so snout. "Connors?"
The Lizard stepped up to the barrier and glanced at him. Octavius arched a brow and faced Dillon.
"Wait. You know this creature?"
"No, no, no. Not a creature. A man."
The four friends in the undercroft looked on as they conversed. Ned nudged Peter beside him.
"Whoa...the same universes." He said.
Max explained. "Dr. Curt Connors. He was a scientist at Oscorp when I worked there. A brilliant scientist. Until he turned himself into a lizard. Then he tried to turn the whole city into lizards. It was crazy."
"It wasn't crazy, Max." Connors spoke. "It was the next step in human evolution."
"The dinosaur can talk." Ned said in awe.
"Lizard." MJ corrected.
"Right."
Connors looked at Max. "Speaking of which, what happened to you? Last I recall, you had bad teeth, glasses, and a comb-over. Did you get a makeover? You know I can give you a real makeover."
"Let me guess, into a lizard?"
"Exactly."
"Would you two just shut up?" Flint butted. "Where are we?"
"It's complicated." Gwen answered.
"A wizard's dungeon." MJ blurted.
"Wizard's dungeon?" Max asked.
"There's no real way to sugarcoat that. It's literally the dungeon of a wizard."
"Look, you can keep your magic." Max replied and looked at his hands. "I want a taste of that energy I just felt."
Max caused the lights in the undercroft to flicker, but it didn't frighten the teenagers. MJ got a call from Y/N and quickly answered it.
"Y/N, hey."
"Did those guys come through yet? There should be an electric guy and a sand guy."
"Yeah, they're all here and locked up."
"Perfect. I'm gonna just stay here and try and fix some of this damage, so they don't blame it on me again."
"Okay."
"But, hey, I...I couldn't do any of this without you, so thank you."
"Of course, tiger."
"I'll see you soon."
On the other end, Y/N smiled as he hung up the call. He went to work on fixing the damaged towers, which took about a few hours.
It was now daytime, the teenager looked on at the repairs with a proud smile. His cell phone began to ring and he saw that it was a call from his dad.
"Hey, dad." He answered.
"Hey, buddy." Michael greeted. "I'm at the shelter right now and...I think one of the guys you're looking for just walked in."
His eyes widened in a panic. "Dad, get out of there. I'm coming."
"Butβ"
Y/N hung up the call and immediately initiated a swing, leaving the forest and going back onto the city.
Y/N made it to the F.E.A.S.T facility within the Chinatown area of New York City. May had been working there since the Blip and Michael, in his time away from being a journalist, assisted as much as he possibly could.
Still in his suit, Y/N ran into the building. He took off his mask and shouted at the people in the cafeteria.
"Michael? Where's Michael?"
A man pointed at the kitchen. Y/N thanked him and sprinted through. He almost broke down a set of double doors as he ran, finally making it to a room.
"Dad!"
Y/N stopped as he saw Michael sitting with an older fellow. The stranger wore a green coat over his purple hoodie.
"Ah, there he is." Michael said with a smile then looked at the man. "Norman, this is my son."
"Norman Osborn?" Y/N asked with an arched brow. "I thought that you wereβ"
"I saw Spider-Man in an ad for this place." Norman interjected. "And I thought he could help me. But you're not him."
"Wait, so you want Spider-Man's help?"
"He just wandered in." Michael said.
An anxious Norman looked ahead and began to explain.
"I didn't know where else to go. Someone's living in my house. Oscorp doesn't exist. My son..."
There was a pause. He seemed to regather his thoughts before continuing.
"Sometimes I'm not myself. I'm...someone else. And every time he's in control, I can't remember. And now I'm hereβ"
"Who's in control?" Michael asked.
"I don't know! I don't know what's going on. What's going on with me? I don'tβIt doesn't make sense."
"Okay. It's okay." Michael reassured Norman and got up. He went up to his son, who witnessed the man's outburst.
"The poor guy's lost." Michael whispered. "And I don't mean through time and space...I mean, in his mind. Are they all like this?"
Michael was told of his son's current endeavor the day before. He didn't expect one of the otherworldly visitors to be so...frail.
"Pretty much." Y/N answered. "I mean, they all have their own mental or physical issues."
He glanced at Norman, who was trying to sneakily hide the donuts he took from the box on the table in his coat.
"Well, he needs help...and maybe they all do."
Y/N gave a confused look but quickly realized what he meant.
"You don't meanβNo, Dad, this isn't my problem."
"Y/N, not your problem?"
"Their chances of getting help are way better back where they came from. Sending them home, that's the best thing that we can do for them."
Michael crossed his arms. "For them? Or for yourself?"
Y/N didn't respond and just looked at his father. The man rubbed his chin and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Remember what your mom would say? What I told you and what you told back to me? You use the gifts you have. Not only for yourself but for the betterment of others."
The teenager remembered that. It felt like so long ago when he was told those words. It was the basis for his start as Spider-Man.
"I try to live by that too. What May and I do around here... makes an impact for the betterment of our community. It's what we do. We help people."
There was a pause. Norman sat still in his own thoughts but was eavesdropping on the conversation.
"This is what's best for them. Trust me." Y/N replied.
Michael simply nodded, choosing to trust his son and accept his decision.
"Okay. Just remember...I got you."
"And you got me." Y/N said with a smile. Michael pat the side of his arm.
"We got each other."
